“So, I think we’re dating now,” I explain to Jongsuk. “I think,” I said, tilting my head. When Jongsuk saw Jaejoong and I kissed by the door, I felt like I’ve just been caught cheating. Or rather caught doing something bad by my parents. You know, that guilty feeling?

Sitting on the sofa, I was explaining to Jongsuk what happened in the club and the stand on my ‘relationship’ with Jaejoong.  He just sat there taking it all in. Folding his arms he stared at space, nodding his head.

“So yea,” I ended it awkwardly, hoping that he’ll say something. “Am I doing the right thing?”

“Molla,” he replied, grimed. “I don’t know what to say. But if you feel like you want to do this, then you should just..follow your heart.”

I really love having Jongsuk around. He always knows what to do. I sighed, relieved. I’m glad that he approves. He does, right?

“Listen B, I think I’m just gonna head home and sleep,” he said suddenly, sighing.

“Uh?” I looked up, confused. Didn’t he say he want hang out?

“Maybe we can hang out some other time,” he said, as if reading my mind. “I think I’m having a headache.”

“Suddenly? Arasso,” I said, getting up as he is. Maybe it’s from last night.

Heading towards the door, I waited for a hug from him as usual, but it never came. Instead, he took his coat and waved, leaving me looking at his back when he left.

Isanghae. Maybe he’s really not feeling well.

Key didn’t wake up, probably gonna concuss until the next morning. It’s no surprise though since he has been hard practicing for his debut and with how he partied during Christmas, it’s no wonder he’s still snoring.

I closed the door to his room and went to mine. Several thoughts went through my head, making me confused. I took my phone, wanting to scroll through any unread messages or unanswered calls. A message came in from Jay wishing me Merry Christmas yesterday. I smiled.

Several Merry Christmas messages came in from home too. I miss home, even though it has only been 2 months, it seemed longer now that it’s the holidays. Scrolling through my call logs, I realised that I’ve miss calls from my younger sister and mom.

It’s only an hour difference between Singapore and Korea time. Dialling for home, I waited.

“Hello?”

“Ruby?” my younger brother answered.

“Hey man, sup?” I asked, smiling.

“Nothing, just eating homemade turkey and mom’s special mash potatoes,” he replied. I can totally hear him snigger. Idiot.

“Stop being a dickhead and get Nat on the phone, sheesh,” I cussed, annoyed.

I heard murmurs and then Nat’s voice, “Hey! OMG Long distance! Are you gonna get mom to pay your bills again?!”

I smiled, my annoying sister. I may be the older one in age, but she’s definitely older mentally. Okay, I’m pretty sure I just called myself immature. Whatever.

“Shut up, how’s everyone?” I asked.

“Good. Kinda,” she hesitated.

“Kinda?” I asked, confused.

“Listen, I wasn’t supposed to tell you but,” she paused. “A week ago, Papa had a .”

I sat up, shock. My grandfather has always been a little sickly due to old age but it has been awhile since he fell ill. “Is he okay? Should I come home?”

“Nah he’s ok now, he just got out like yesterday. But the doctor did tell us to be careful,” she said.

I scrunched my face. Should I book a flight out now?

“Hey! Don’t you dare waste money on the flight back okay?! I’ll get mom to freeze your trust fund if you do,” she warned me. Aish she knew me well.

“Fine, then can I talk to him?” I asked.

“Okay, gimme a sec.”

I heard murmurs again and got connected to my grandfather. “Papa?” I asked.

I heard a husky voice over the other line. “Papa, are you okay?”

“I’m..fine child. Don’t you worry. I’m strong as a horse. How are you and Kibum over there?” he asked. I could hear him struggling to talk.

“We’re fine, Papa,” I said, trying to stop tears from falling.
