Chapter 9: The Transferees (Part 1)

My eyes widen and my mouth gaped open a little bit at the sight of them.

Whoa, so that’s why the school is in uproar today…
 

I observed the 6 boys who just came in and I have to give them credits; they really are handsome and cute. My heavy glasses slipped down my nose as I was observing them. I suddenly felt like an idiot just by looking at them. I pushed my glasses back as I turn to Jae Min, who just noticed the boys who came in; like me, she was surprised to see 6 handsome and cute boys. I chuckled at her expression.

I returned my attention back to the boys. I felt that one of them looked awe fully familiar but I couldn’t pin point who.

I noticed that the tall boy standing next to the teacher was staring blankly into space, but he managed to stay handsome even though he was a wearing a derp face. I looked backed to see who or what he was staring at, but he was staring at nothing so I just shrugged it off and moved on.

The one standing next to the derp face boy was very tall and was wearing a face and I got a little bit intimidated. He was giving off the ‘don’t-mess-with-me’ look as he stares into the class. I looked backed again. He was staring at exactly one direction, like the derp face boy, so I got curious but again he was looking at nothing, too.

What are they looking at? I wondered. The wall, maybe? I shrugged.

The one next to the intimidating dude is also tall, but he is wearing a bright smile, he was wearing a gummy smile, while one of his eyes was bigger than the other. I found him cute and adorable because he looked like a puppy.

The one next to the cute fella was also tall. He had dark circles under his eyes; he looked like a panda, except that he wasn’t smiling, he kind of looked scary but he didn’t scare me. His stare just give me the creeps.

The one next to the tall panda was rather small compared to the other four who looked like giants standing next to him. The boy looked cute; his face looked like those cute steamed buns. It made me want to pinch his cheeks.

The last guy was somehow intimidating too like the one who was wearing a face. He was wearing eyeliner that makes his eyes look fierce and I noticed that he took a quick glance at our direction;

I quickly turn around to see an equal staring Jae Min then I smirked. I was about to ask Jae Min who she was staring between the boys, when our teacher finally spoke up.

“Please introduce yourself~” Mrs. Cho said clearly smiling, delighted to see such handsome faces.

The boys looked like they didn’t know what to do. I chuckled at their panicked expressions. They were looking and mouthing each other on who should go first, and then the boy who was nearest to the teacher decided to introduce himself first.

“My name is Oh Sehun, nice to meet you all.” The boy bowed.

Those last five words made me wonder if the boy actually meant it, saying that ‘it’s nice to meet you all’ while keeping a poker face on. His face was still blank and expressionless.

“I’m Kris.” the intimidating dude said, still wearing his face. His piercing eyes met mine and he quickly looked away, like he hadn’t seen me. I raised one of my eyebrows at his action.

“Hello everyone, my name is Park Chanyeol, it’s a pleasure to meet all of you.” the boy with the gummy smile said. His leopard printed eyeglass slid down a little bit from the bridge of his nose.

Finally, a proper introduction. I thought as I look at the said boy. The previous two didn’t somehow look so happy introducing themselves and their introduction was either unbelievable or short.

“I’m Tao.” the intimidating panda boy said as he bowed a little.

Again, with the short introductions. It was beginning to annoy me.

“Hi everyone, I’m Kim Min Seok but you can call me Xiumin.” the boy with the squishy cheeks said.

It took every ounce of energy of me to control myself from pinching the boy’s cheeks. They looked so soft.

“My name is Byun Baekhyun.” the last boy said with a smile. He looked cute and nice with his smile.

I looked at Jae Min, who was still staring at someone. I nudged Jae Min’s elbow then slowly I leaned closer to her.

“Hey, who are you staring a-”

I didn’t get to finish my question when the teacher called the both of us.

“Yun Jae-sshi and Jae Min-sshi?”

I was startled and looked at our teacher. Did we do something wrong again? I nervously stood up while Jae Min stood up like it’s nothing. Then out of the blue, I could feel someone staring right at me, the stare felt he was evaluating me for something and it made more uncomfortable. I looked up to see who was staring at me, but then I found none. I tilted my head in confusion. I swear, I felt someone was staring at me just now. I shrugged.

 “Yes?” Both Jae Min and I asked in unison.

“I would like to assign you both on a job.” Our teacher said, still staring at our new classmates.

I noticed Jae Min’s ear perked up at the name of the job, and she immediately elbowed me.

I groaned inwardly. “What job exactly?” I asked calmly, rubbing my sore elbow, while taking cold glances at Jae Min.

“It’s to tour these gentleman around campus, they might get lost in this huge school, if we let them alone.” She said, finally looking at us.

I frowned. “But Ma’am, we’re not interested-” The boys in front of us suddenly scoffed. They’re expressions were in between amusement and shock. I glanced at them and continued. “-And I know a bunch of girls here in class would be more willing to tour them around.” Then the girls in class eagerly agreed with us, for the first time. I scoffed at their action, “See?”

Jae Min quickly elbowed me again making me scowl this time. I shot Jae Min with a ‘what-the-hell’ look, while Jae Min gave me the ‘what-are-you-doing’ look in response.

“That’s the point.” Mrs. Cho pointed out.

I raised one brow. “What point?”

“Don’t act dumb, Yun Jae-sshi, it doesn’t suit you.” She said bluntly, and I was taken a back to hear that.

I just frowned again and blinked. “Okay, but what exactly is your point Ma’am?” I asked again.

Mrs. Cho just rubbed her temples and sighed. “I need you both to tour them around campus because I know that both of you clearly aren’t interested in them and that, I don’t know why-” Mrs. Choi suddenly looked at the boys who were just listening at the conversation.

“-And I know that you guys would prefer it, if it would be them that will tour you around than to have a bunch of girls mobbed you, or girls giggling and squealing while they tour you guys around, right?”

The boys just nodded and eagerly looked at us.

Oh, Mrs. Cho has a point.  I thought while my lips formed into a thin line. Well, I don’t mind touring them. I nodded also.

“Okay, so they agree.” Mrs. Cho nodded, satisfied.

And out of the blue, Jae Min asked, “Wait, money is involved right?”

I stared at Jae Min with an unreadable expression. Oh, so that’s why she was elbowing me all this time, it was because I was trying to deny the ‘Job’, that I should accept. I cringed and face-palmed.

She looked at me with wide eyes, “What?” she whispered, “It’s a job after all.” She shrugged.

“Tch, she’ll say no, of course!” I whispered back while shaking my head.

“No, of course not.” Mrs. Cho stared at us in disbelief. “See?” I gestured my hand to our teacher.

I heard Jae Min’s tongue clicked and she took a quick glance at me, confidence was clearly in her eyes, “Ma’am, I think you misunderstood something, we don’t do job for … Free, we should negotiate.” Jae Min said, a smirk was plastered on her face.

“No.” Mrs. Cho sternly said. I snickered, while Jae Min shot me a warning glance, so I quickly composed myself.

“Ma’am, it’s easy, you could just give us additional grades if you don’t have any money-” Mrs. Cho moth gaped open, clearly offended of what Jae Min just said. “-but if your answer is still NO, then I’m afraid that we will not do the job that you gave just us.” Jae Min seriously stated.

Mrs. Cho gasped of what she heard. I smirked; Jae Min is very good at manipulating people.

The boys looked at our teacher with pleading eyes and I almost chuckled at their state. I could imagine their tour around the school would be irritating if other girls would do the job. If I was in their state I might have done the same thing, I want to at least survive my high school days.

Our teacher face clearly showed that she was feeling the pressure in the looks that the boys was giving her; Time was ticking and she was wasting time, she could have been on with the lesson if we weren’t so stubborn so she was left with no other choice but to agree with our so called ‘negotiation’. I shook my head in pity.

“Fine.” Mrs. Choi said with a heavy sigh. Jae Min and I finally sited down.

The boys sighed out of relief. “You could take your seats there.” Mrs. Choi said while pointing to the empty desks surrounding mine and Jae Min’s desk.

The -faced guy and the scary looking panda decided to sit in front of our desk. I was facing the -faced guy’s back, while the scary looking panda’s back at Jae Min. The derp faced boy and baozi boy decided to sit at the side, the puppy look-a-like boy and the eyeliner dude decided to sit at the back desk.

“Now, everything is settled, let’s go on with the lesson.” Mrs. Cho tiredly said.
