Chapter 12: EXO on a Mission

That afternoon Yun Jae and her friends didn’t attend their classes anymore. They have excused themselves saying that they have suddenly caught fevers.

The EXO boys couldn’t believe that excuse after all the afternoon that they were still able to see them, they looked fine. But, they already have excused themselves and the boys can’t do anything about it now.

Classes were finally over and the boys decided to ride their car to go home.

“They totally owe us tomorrow” The boys mumbled as they got in their car. Their tummies were rumbling and they were stressed out for the fact that girls were still following them- with autograph’s notebook at their hands-as they got in the car. They are not some kind of super stars right? They were just normal students, but normal handsome students at that. But the boys somehow didn’t quiet get that.

Probably it’s their first time to experience this kind of treatment since the previous school that they attended to was an all boys school. So, this was all new to them.

 Well, back at the matters at hand.

Girls were literally flirting with them. They were so annoyed to hear:

‘Oppa! You’re so cute!

‘Oppa~’

‘Please give me your number, oppa~’

They want to puke something out even though they hadn’t eaten anything yet.

As they went out the school’s gate and went by a dark alleyway, they saw 4 people beat up a person; they soon realized that it was the senior guy who got the diamond card.

The 4 people were in the shadows as they beat up the person. So it was hard to see their faces and plus their faces were covered by mask and they were covered in all black, each of them were wearing hoodies. They looked so dangerous and merciless, like what the senior guy explained to them.

The boy whom they asked wasn’t kidding at all. They just clenched their jaws as they stopped at the alleyway. The sight weren’t pretty at all. The senior was screaming, asking for help, pleading for forgiveness as they beat him up. He was already covered with bruises, and blood was coming out from his mouth and nose.

They just decided to honk at the alleyway, indicating that the group who was beating up the poor guy should stop.

They couldn’t possibly go out the car and stop the madness that was happening. Sure they could help the senior who was being beat up to a pulp, and the aftermath didn’t look so good. As much as possible, they wanted to avoid trouble, and they don’t want to start any trouble of course. So they just decided to stay put in the car, but they did what they could to help.

The group just looked up, staring fiercely at the car and through the window. As if, they could see the people inside.

Soon, the group started to approach their way, slowly dragging their weapons, covered with blood. They weren’t happy at all. They were in the middle of beating up someone and a car dared to disturb them?

The boys wondered how the poor guy actually survived the ruthless beating. They’re just grateful that he’s still breathing.

“Hey guys, they are heading this way.” Lay said, starting to get a bad feeling.

“Hyung! Let’s go.” Chen said.

The one nearest to the window which was Sehun flinched at their deadly cold stare. He hadn’t seen that kind of stare for a while and he definitely doesn’t like it.

The boys just thanked that their car’s window were tinted. So basically the people outside can’t see them.

They hesitantly looked back and saw one of the members move forward and watched them at the back. The person slowly turned his back at them and he started to walk away, one by one his gang closely followed behind.

The beating finally stopped but the boys were still scared of what they just saw, their hearts were beating fast and their faces went pale. They swore in their minds that they would follow what the senior guy told them- on not to provoke anyone in the school. They don’t want to experience the horrifying scene that they just saw.

“Hey let’s order this!” Xiumin said hungrily.

“OK. Just order anything you want but you pay it yourself” Suho said while looking at the menu.

Xiumin just slid down on his seat, lonely and sad. “Fine.”

Kai chuckled, “It’s so shocking that you could eat that much, after what we just saw.”

Xiumin frowned, “I’m hungry, besides I can’t let that get to me; I love my stomach, thank you very much.” He grinned.

The boys decided to eat at a restaurant before they went home. D.O their cook was still shaken of what he just saw that he told the boys that he can’t cook for the night.

They decided to eat at a simple restaurant. Not too fancy and not too classy, just average. They are just happy that they’re appetite didn’t betray them after the scene they just saw.

They were eating their dinner noisily as usual, Suho was trying his best to keep them silent but the boys were still shaken about the scene that they just saw.

“Well, that was different.” Luhan said shakily.

“Yeah.” Baekhyun said while puffing out his cheeks.

“That was brutal.” Chanyeol said while grabbing his hair, but froze. He just remembered something he didn’t want to remember, again.

And their whining kept continuing on. “You know guys-” Kris started.

“We don’t know,” Kai sarcastically said not knowing that it was Kris who just said that, the boys just kept silent and stared at him and gave him the look ‘you’re-so-dead’ to him.

“What?” Kai didn’t get why the boys were looking at him weirdly.

 “Oops,” Kai quickly covered his mouth as soon as he realizes of what he just done; he just dug his own grave.

Kris gave Kai a deadly glare. Kai was just grateful that their order had arrived or Kris might have strangled him to death.

“As I was saying, you know guys you should calm yourselves first.” Kris continued while taking cold glances at Kai while the latter started to eat his food, shrugging off the cold glances that Kris was giving him.

“We could forget about it-”

“What?! How could we simply forget about it?!” The boys asked at the same time with a loud booming voice. The people at the restaurant once again, gave them weird and irritated looks.

Kris hissed them, annoyed that they were gaining attention again. “Please let me finish my sentence,” The boys fell silent and continued to eat with their heads down. They felt like their Mother is giving them lessons. “Thank you.”

“As I was saying, again, We could simply forget about it, or we could pretty much help the ones that are bullied by that gang called ‘Wild cards’.”

Sehun and Baekhyun scoffed. Chanyeol, Xiumin and Kai choked on their foods, Lay and Chen’s spoon fell down, Luhan, D.O, and Tao mouth’s remained wide open while Suho spit out his water that he was just drinking.

“WHAT?!” They all chorused together.

And again they were catching attention and probably anytime soon they’ll be kicked out the restaurant from the entire ruckus they were making.

“You are willing to sacrifice that much, hyung?!” Sehun immediately drank his water after what Kris said.

“You really want to get beaten up, gege?!” Chen asked, shocked.

“You’ll die young, hyung!” Kai said finally earning a smack from Kris and mind you, it was pretty painful.

“No, No and NO. And hey! I mentioned ‘WE’, right?”

The boys just shrugged in response.

Kris frowned, “Well, what I meant by we could pretty much help them is not by getting beat up. What I meant is we could investigate this. We should find out their identities and report it to powerful people.” Kris said nonchalantly as he ignored the boy’s response.

“Besides, I kind of regretted the time that we couldn’t help that poor senior guy-”

“But we did help him, we honked at them.” Suho defended. “And besides, we did an oath not to get in troubles anymore. Have you forgotten that already?”

“Yes we did end his suffering but we just let the group walk away. I’m afraid a lot of lives will still be in danger because of that. I know they won’t stop, they’ll just continue beating those poor lives up. So I want to kind of help them starting from that senior guy-” Kris paused, looking for the right word for his next answer. The second phrase that Suho mentioned, Kris wasn’t sure of what to answer. Yes, they did an oath. How could he forget about that?

“-and no, I haven’t forgotten, how could I simply forget about it? After all it’s an oath. Just don’t sweat about it that much, we won’t get into trouble. Don’t worry.” Kris gave his best to sound confident, but inside he was nervous but mostly he felt excited. He really likes things that are related to crime-solving and investigating. It makes his blood boils from all the excitement.

“But Hyung, What if one of them found out that were trying to know their identities? We’ll still get beaten up!” D.O. complained.

“That’s just simple, we’ll just keep it a secret; we won’t tell anyone about this. It’s not that hard.” Kris said rather calmly.

The boys fell silent once after that. For some of them, they were thinking things twice for the first time.

All of them didn’t think the idea seemed good. They were hesitating and all, thinking if this is a good idea. They were afraid of the consequences, but at the end they could pretty much help and save a lot of people in the future. And they did kind of regret the time that they couldn’t help so they want to pay it back and it’s the perfect chance to do that.

Kris just smirked at their silence, “So, what do you say?”
