(Yun Jae’s P.O.V)

Today, I was going to school lonely and irritated. I actually miss the noisiness that my best-friend Jae Min was giving me every now and then.

Why would she be running late again?  I asked in my mind while, grumpily kicking a pebble that I just tripped into. I sighed again.

Unfortunately, the pebble landed in a cage where a dog was sleeping peacefully. The dog woke up startled and started to bark on my way making me scared a little bit. I quickly fastened my pace afraid that the dog might struggle to get out. I was afraid of dogs, except for puppies because I find them harmless and adorable.

Aish! That Dog, I sighed as soon as I was out of reach from the cage where the annoying dog was in. I was just thankful that the dog was inside the house and it was on a cage. I stopped on my tracks as I was catching my breath from all the quick walking.

 This is probably one of my reasons on why I don’t want to go to school alone. I simply shrugged it off and continued on my walk. My day was already ruined by an annoying dog.

Jae Min so owe me one.

I was in my room, cupped up all bored. Since I got nothing anything decent to do, I decided to read a book, an English novel book. I was now getting drown by the book when my phone that was on my night lamp, suddenly vibrated.

I carefully reached out for my phone, not tearing my sight from the book. I was rather pissed off because my reading was disturbed. I hate it when my reading is cut off.

It said. It was Jae Min. A sigh escaped my mouth. I found it all weird that Jae Min actually sent me a text message because I rarely get a message from her. It’s rare for her to send a text message, actually. I immediately knew something was up.

I quickly replied back putting a bookmark to the book. I looked up to see the clock, it was getting late, and I need to go to sleep already. I’ll go to sleep at once, after my phone conversation with Jae Min. My phone vibrated again.

My brows furrowed. I’m not really used to going to school all alone.

I put down my phone and lied down flatly on my stomach on my comfy bed.

I sighed again and this time it was long and heavy. I was left with no choice but to. Knowing Jae Min it must be something important, maybe.

I patiently waited for Jae Min’s reply. I hummed a song while playing with my bracelet.

I chuckled; “Aigoo~ this girl” Jae Min actually knew what I was secretly hoping for.

I laughed as I read Jae Min’s last reply. “I hope so too…”

Classes are about to start and I can’t help fidgeting at my chair. Jae Min still hasn’t arrived and she’s making me worry for her. I have been turning my head to the door if someone is entering, and I can’t help but to take quick glances at my watch and to the door.

Earlier when I entered the classroom, my classmates started whispering to each other, asking where’s Jae Min and all, because it was unusual to see me all alone. “Maybe, they got a fight!” I overheard their whispering, and I just ignored their comments.

While reading and fidgeting at my chair I suddenly heard squealing and shouting at the hallway. I quickly turned my head to the door expecting Jae Min to enter, but I grew in confusion on why the girls would be squealing.

“Since when did girls started to squeal over Jae Min?” I shrugged, “Must be boys then.”

The door flung open revealing no other than my new classmates. I slid down on my chair in disappointment while puffing my cheeks. Where is Jae Min? She should be here right now! I quickly returned to my reading, but I couldn’t read properly because of Jae Min.

“Where’s your friend?” I heard a voice sternly asked.  I froze then sighed, I hate it when people ask that way, especially if their strangers. Where are his manners?

I slowly raised my head and made eye contact. “What’s your name again?” I asked with one of my eyebrows raised. I’m not good at remembering names; I always forget it at once.

The boy in front of me narrowed his eyes while the other boys stared at me with wide eyes, like I had grown something unusual on my head. My eyebrows creased. I grew uncomfortable with their stares.

“I forgot?” I answered the question that was in their minds, and their questioning expression slowly disappeared.

I looked back at the boy in front of me and smirked at his shocked expression. “What? You forgot your name too?” I mocked. It looks like he was rather taken by surprise by my question there.

“Kris.” He answered rather sternly again, probably annoyed with my mockery. I snickered.

 “Kris, the answer to your stupid question is: Wait let me check my pockets first.” I said, checking my pockets. “Nope she is not in my pocket, drinking coffee. Of course I don’t know.”  I sarcastically said. I’m not really sarcastic, but when I’m annoyed or mad, I can’t help but to be sarcastic.

Why did he have to ask like that? He could simply ask ‘Where’s your friend?’ calmly he didn’t even say Good Morning; he’s so annoying and rude. What’s his problem anyway? I thought as I stare at him provokingly, directly in his eyes.

The rest of the boy’s eye’s opened wide again including Kris. “It seems that Kris found his match.” I overheard one of them whisper, I smirked at his comment and the staring contest continued.

“The Teacher is coming!!!!” Someone suddenly shouted, making both Kris and I look at his direction. Everyone quickly ran to their seats. Our staring ended and Kris sat at his seat, fuming. I smiled but frowned when I remembered a certain someone.

I quickly took one last glance at the empty chair beside me. Jae Min is going to get detention later.

Suddenly the door to our room opened dramatically and revealed a panting Jae Min. She looked reddish and tired as she was breathing hard. Jae Min looked around the room, and she suddenly shouted when she knew that the teacher hasn’t arrived yet.

“Yes, I’m SAFE!” She grinned.

She then looked at me worriedly, but I was staring at her with a mad face.

“Oh Yun Jae, my dear Yun Jae! I’m terribly sorry! I’m so sorry that I let you go to school all alone, I forgot that you were rather afraid of dogs and I probably made you worry! Please don’t be mad at me!” Jae Min dramatically said, while adding a fake sob to her act making it more realistic.

The EXO boys suddenly erupted in cheers while giving Jae Min thumbs up. My mouth gaped open at the scene that she was making.

“WOW!”

“You’re good!”

“Your acting skills are great.”

Jae Min grinned in response. “I like you guys! You’re nowhere near understandable like them! Unlike them, you know how to appreciate my acting!” She said while pointing to the class, who just gave her scoffs.

What the hell is she doing now? I couldn’t wipe the bewildered expression on my face as Jae Min dramatically walked towards me.

She slowly reached out for my hands. “Yun-unnie, can you please forgive me?”

I stared at her with my poker face “…. NO”

Jae Min pouted at my answer.

“Why?” Jae Min did her puppy dog eyes that made most of the guys in the classroom swooned over by her cuteness and this time it didn’t work on me.

“I’m not going to forgive you unless you tell me the reason why you are late and I want the truth.”

She just smiled at me cutely, probably hoping that I could forgive her with that.

I just stared at her. “Come on, spill it out.”

Jae Min sheepishly grins while rubbing the back of her neck. “I overslept.”

“So you cancelled our meeting earlier just so you could oversleep?” I asked with my expressionless face, not really shocked. I was rather expecting it.

“Yeah!” Jae Min happily answered. She pouted, “Well, Unnie~ can’t you see my eye bags? They’re getting bigger and bigger!” She blinked at me cutely.

I gave her a forced smile then an expressionless face. “Still not forgiven,”

“Yun Jae!! Please~” And Jae Min did her ultimate aegyo. “Buing~ Buing~” and the boys in the class swooned over once again.

I wanted to say yes there but I still resisted expecting that she’ll say something more interesting.

“I’ll buy you any book that you want when we go to bookstore~”

Bingo! “Really?” I grinned evilly.

“Yes~ Just please don’t be mad at me~”

I thought for a while, “You will buy me any book that I want?”

Jae Min quickly nodded. “Yes.”

“Ok. I forgive you,” I said happily.

“You could take your seat now Jae Min-sshi.” The teacher said.

From the entire ruckus that just happened I didn’t notice that the teacher had already arrived.

“Yes.” Jae Min said while taking her seat. Then the teacher began his lesson.

While taking out my notebook I noticed Jae Min sighed heavily, “What’s the matter Jae Min?”  It’s very rare to see her like that.

“I don’t know if I should be happy or not.” She said glumly. I just chuckled at her state. Now, she realized the consequences.

“It’s ok, at least you’re forgiven and she’s not mad at you anymore.” The boy behind her-which I shockingly remember-Baekhyun said trying to cheer her up.

She nodded and replied decently, “I guess you’re right.”

I was rather shocked that she didn’t respond that rude to the boy. Normally she would answer rudely or sarcastically. Jae Min is that you?!

I looked at Baekhyun who was listening to the teacher then to the rest of the boys who were either zoning out or doodling in their notebooks.

Okay, that’s weird. I shrugged while staring blankly at the board.

Who are these boys? I thought while scrunching my face.

I looked at them once more. Maybe this is a not-so-irritating morning after all. I warmly smiled.
