Chapter 5: The Familiar Boy

“Augh! It's freaking hot!” Ran Yeon whined as she was fanning herself from the heat.

We decided to walk to Jae Min’s house, because their house was just near. Next to my house, Jae Min's place is the second place I know and the third is Ran Yeon's place. I know my way to Jae Min's house because I pass by it everyday when I go to school, and it became our usual hang out, when all of us couldn't hang out in my house or Ran Yeon's house.

While walking to the destined place, my friends were complaining and whining their butts off because of the heat.

Ran Yeon stopped on her tracks, smiling and gave all of us a wink, and I could tell that she was trying to make her wink to be cute but it ended up to look rather seductive. “Oh no! I’m melting~” Ran Yeon whined again while reaching her hands to the sun.

All of us smiled. This time, Jae Min and Seo Hyun went along with her act. 

“The brutal sun!” Jae Min said while covering herself with her arms.

“Help us!” Seo Hyun said while running dramatically forward.

They act like their some kind of vampires where they can’t stand the heat. I can’t help but to laugh at my live entertainment. They are so playful despite their suffering.

It’s a good thing I bought my own hat.

It was 9:05 in the morning and it was kind of hot outside.

“How come you have a hat?” Jae Min asked annoyed while accusingly pointing her finger at me, like those in detective shows.

“Yeah!” Ran Yeon said while stopping on her tracks.

“Why?” Seo Hyun asked while approaching us.

The girls don’t really like the sun, but not because they don’t want to get darker like the flirty ones would say, but because of the heat. It’s annoying and irritating to them, well to me too.

“Because, I knew that it would be hot today” I said while poking my tongue out at them.

They stomped their feet’s childishly as we walked. I just chuckled at their childish act. They can be really childish at times. I sometimes wonder who the maknae of the group really is.

Soon, their annoyed faces were replaced with delight when they saw the ice cream shop.

“Hey, why don’t we buy ice cream? ~” Jae Min said happily while pointing to the ice cream shop. She started to skip towards it before we could even answer her question. We just trailed behind her. Just like her, the rest of us Love ice cream too.

We all chose the ‘cookies and cream’ flavor. 

It was one our groups’ favorite flavors. We already got tired of chocolate and the common flavor that people would usually buy. We wanted to be different, so all of us chose the flavor that other people would rarely buy according to all of us anyways.

As soon as we paid for it, I quickly went out the ice cream shop while the girls followed behind and continued to walk to our destination. I looked at my watch which says, 9:13. It’s still early.

My friends were chatting happily as they eat their ice cream when I realized that we were already at the Ros’ Benil already, the neighborhood where the riches were living.

I let my eyes observe my surroundings while carefully my ice cream. As usual, all I could see was big houses, big trees and big everything. It was like I was in the giants’ territory.

While I was skipping happily just like your friends, a certain house caught my attention. It was pretty big. It was a 3-storey house and it was in black, white and brown color. The house looked so beautiful and serene as trees surrounded it in the background. It looked peaceful and inviting.

And, I found it weird that the house was noisy for the first time. The house was usually quiet for I was a frequent passer-by here, but it seems that there are people inside and there were 2 white big vans and a few boxes, standing in front of the house.

Oh, they must be the movers Mom was talking about. I thought to myself as I my melting ice cream.

But what really caught my attention was that there was a teenage boy standing by at their glass window of their room, which was in the third floor. That’s odd. I could tell that he was rather zoning out, he was into his deep that he can’t even notice us making too much ruckus and noise outside.

Now that I carefully observe him, he looked awe fully familiar to me; I felt a certain fondness deep in my heart yet again like how I felt in my realistic dream. His body structure looked quite the same as my ‘Dream Guy’. He was skinny, and his hairstyle looked the same way as my 'Dream Guy' too.

I couldn’t see his face properly because I wasn’t wearing my glasses and the rays of the sun weren’t helping either.

I stopped walking when I was near their house so that I could take a closer look at him, but still it was no use. I really need my glasses.

I pulled the person that was about to pass by me-because I was walking ahead of my friends-which was Seo Hyun.

“What?” her tone was clearly annoyed because I pulled her by surprise, and because I almost made her drop her ice cream.

“Do you know or we know him?” I pointed to the boy who was still zoning out.

Seo Hyun looked up to see his face as she places her free hand just above her eyes and squinted her eyes.

“I can’t tell, I can’t see his face properly.”

Seo Hyun tilted her head. “Why? You know him?” She asked as she turns her head to me.

“I don’t know, I can’t see his face properly either” I said, disappointed.

“Is he one of our classmates, Jae Min?” I asked Jae Min this time.

Jae Min did the same thing Seo Hyun did, but the results were the same.

“I don’t know, I can’t tell either”

All of us were standing in front of the house for a couple of minutes that we didn’t realize that Ran Yeon was getting annoyed standing under the sun with all the heat.

“Let’s go already” Ran Yeon started to drag me away from the house. Seo Hyun and Jae Min trailed behind the both of us. I looked back once again, and I saw something shining that was somehow going down on his cheeks. The feeling of uneasiness washed over me again, stronger this time.

Weird, but he seems very familiar to me…

So,  it's the fifth chapter, and still no sign of EXO.
