“Would you have changed your mind if you knew?” He carefully asked, feeling the body next to him shift a little and making him kind of regret asking that question.

“Honestly?” Siwon started, then looked at Kyuhyun who was afraid yet anticipating the answer before he added “I don’t think I would have”

It was totally not the answer Kyuhyun expected and so it made him smile before looking away. Nevertheless, he missed on how Siwon’s lips also twitched into a slight smile.

The rest of the ride passed in silence. Siwon focusing on the road, silently wondering how he didn’t figure out it was Kyuhyun’s first time as a surrogate and kind of scolding himself for never noticing the signs, while Kyuhyun was busy thinking of why his heart was beating earlier when he stood too close to Siwon, and why he oddly felt happy about the latter’s answer to his question.

A few more minutes and the car finally stopped in front of a huge building that got Kyuhyun’s eyes bulging out as they roamed the area that looked really elegant and obviously suited only for rich people.

Unaware of Kyuhyun’s expression, Siwon got out of the car and walked to open the door for him. Kyuhyun glanced at him for a couple of seconds, trying to sort of read him, but when the older’s face had a blank expression like usual, he could only sigh and get out of the car as well.

“Where are we?” He carefully asked although he kind of figured out it must've been Siwon’s house.

“We need to talk” The older simply stated then turned to walk away, leaving Kyuhyun cocking one eyebrow at his disappearing back before he started following him with a deep sigh.

Stepping inside the elevator, Kyuhyun crossed his arms over his chest, pursing his lips into an adorable pout as his head was all confused again about Siwon’s sudden change of behavior.

The latter let out another deep sigh before peeking at the older from the corner of his eye, sending him a death glare, thinking it was unnoticed by the man next to him. However, what Kyuhyun missed on noticing since he was preoccupied by glaring at the older, was actually that the elevator door had a mirror and that even though Siwon was looking all cool with hands in his pockets and looking in front of him, he was actually well aware of the surrogate’s glare.

Stepping out of the lift, Siwon headed out first, leaving Kyuhyun once again trailing behind him with a snort of annoyance. His glare was still piercing the older’s back while his head was trying to control his itchy hand from jumping on him and strangling him.

True that just a few minutes ago Kyuhyun was quite fond of Siwon. However, he was really agitated by how the latter’s character changed by the second. Just when he felt he should give him a break, the older changed his mind with another cold act of his.

Too lost in his thoughts, he didn't notice Siwon stopping and so he ended up bumping into the older’s back. The latter turned around with raised eyebrows, looking at the surrogate who was rubbing his aching nose with a sore face.

“Where’s your head at?” Siwon exclaimed before turning around again and unlocking his door, not waiting for an answer from the surrogate.

Kyuhyun closed his eyes briefly, inhaling a deep breath to stop the urge of saying something witty or snarky because Siwon was his client after all and he would have to at least try to not get offended by his words anymore.

Entering the big apartment, Kyuhyun’s irritation was soon disappearing as his eyes widened at the place. The house was huge and just the entrance was as big as his bedroom.

Following Siwon inside, Kyuhyun’s eyes sparkled at the very well designed interior, noting how the black marbled floor and the white walls were giving the house a very elegant look.

As he walked further inside, his sight fell on a bird on a branch painted on the side of the wall, bringing a smile to his face as he let his fingers trace the design. (Picture)

Siwon, who turned around to check on the surrogate, froze in his place when he caught a sweet smile plastered on Kyuhyun’s face. His eyes slightly popped out and his heart droped to his stomach as the view in front of him was breathtaking. It took him a minute before shaking his head and continuing his walk inside.

Once they reached what Kyuhyun assumed to be the living room, the latter let his eyes wander around, admiringly nodding his head at each detail while silently complimenting Siwon on his taste.

Not bad Choi Siwon... Who knew you have a good taste! I wonder if he chose the design himself though. Maybe his girlfriend did? B-but he never said he has one... What are you talking about Kyuhyun, if so, you wouldn’t be here right now and carrying his seeds nonetheless!

Not ready to look at Kyuhyun’s face just yet, the owner walked to his bedroom before coming out a second later, his vest taken off as he was only left with a white t-shirt. He then settled down on the couch and motioned the still astonished Kyuhyun, first by the house and second by his envy for Siwon’s well built body, to take a seat as well.

The younger cleared his throat, shaking away his thoughts before settling on the couch beside Siwon. However as he sat down, his earlier pain shot back and it left him hissing in pain while clasping a hand over his lower abdomen. Siwon looked at him worriedly, wondering what was wrong with him.

“Are you okay?” He carefully asked, earning him another short glare from the younger that it soon disappeared when he caught on the soft look in the older’s orbs.

“Remember I said I had a check up?” Kyuhyun asked making Siwon nod “Well, they needed to take a sample from my womb or something” Kyuhyun added, rolling his eyes as he remembered the doctor’s explanation which he still didn't get yet.

Siwon slowly nodded in understanding, eyeing the surrogate who leaned his back on the couch and closed his eyes while sneaking one hand under his shirt to massage the part that was hurting.

The older’s face twisted in an inexplicable feeling and without thinking he found himself sitting next to the surrogate, gripping the latter’s wrist and taking away his hand so he could examine him.

Kyuhyun was startled when he felt Siwon so close to him once again. His eyes shifted from his client’s handsome face to his bare chest through his v-neck, which made him unable to speak. So, he just unconsciously freed his hold and let him do what he wanted.

Siwon slowly rolled off the younger’s shirt, taking off the small bandage which caused his eyes to narrow when they set on the injury on the right side just above the younger’s waist that was red with blood.

Siwon’s fingers carefully traced the sides, emitting a wince of pain from the younger which made him look up at Kyuhyun’s face and thus making the younger’s breath hitch at the closeness.

The surrogate averted his gaze away, narrowing his eyes in confusion as his heartbeat was racing once again. His cheeks felt on fire somehow and he didn't know what to do or say so he just kept focusing on whatever was in front of him, hoping Siwon would stop looking at him.

The older didn't miss on the way Kyuhyun’s face turned red, however, he didn't know he was the cause behind it as he thought it was because the surrogate was hurting.

Standing up, Siwon disappeared from the living room, leaving Kyuhyun dumbfounded to where he went to. A minute later, he returned with a first aid kit and a towel, causing Kyuhyun to shyly bite on his lower lip. He didn’t expect Siwon to care about his injury.

Settling down in his earlier spot, Siwon pulled up the younger’s shirt, yelping when he unintentionally uncovered more than he should have as one of Kyuhyun’s pink s came to sight and made his gulp in nervousness. Luckily for him, his gasp went unheard by the surrogate who was too immersed in silently watching each of Siwon’s moves.

The older carefully pressed the warm wet towel on the younger’s abdomen, slowly tapping on the skin to clean the dry blood. He then put some of the antibiotic ointment on his finger before putting in on the small cut, rubbing it all over the somewhat infected area.

Kyuhyun’s heart was about to explode. His eyes were focused on Siwon’s face, loving the little twitches it did with each move, and how his eyebrows seemed to have a mind of their own as they kept changing shapes with each second.

The warmth on his body wasn't helping either, and he neeed to take a deep breath to clear his clouded mind. However, when Siwon started blowing on his wound, a sudden moan escaped the boy’s lips causing his eyes to bulge out as he froze in place anticipating Siwon’s reaction.

“Did I hurt you?” The oblivious Siwon mistook the moan for a hiss which Kyuhyun was very thankful for. He took a second to stare at the older’s face before slowly shaking his head.

Siwon focused again on the wound, putting on a new band aid before straightening up and looking at Kyuhyun again.

The surrogate pulled down his shirt and shyly fixed his gaze on the hands on his lap. His mind was still preoccupied by the moan he just let out a few seconds ago.

“A thank you would be nice” Siwon’s words snapped the surrogate out of his thoughts as he puzzlingly looked at him and let his words sink in. When they did, he snorted before stating “And whose fault was it in the first place?”

Kyuhyun immediately cursed himself since that wasn't what he was intended to say. Sure the reason he had that little wound was Siwon’s child, but the older helped him out and a thank you would indeed have been nice. However, his naughty mouth always beat his mind.

Siwon tilted his head in surprise, looking into Kyuhyun’s eyes for a second before letting out a mocking laugh.

“You sure have a snarky mouth, but your observation is not that good”

Kyuhyun cocked one eyebrow at him, wondering what Siwon was talking about.

“What do you mean?” He curiously asked, folding his arms over his chest and glaring at the older.

“You sure seem to like to glare at me a lot” Siwon started, making Kyuhyun even more confused before he added.

“The elevator door is mirrored” Siwon stated, watching how Kyuhyun’s eyes narrowed in bewilderment, but when they bulged out in realization, Siwon smirked at the view before picking up the first aid kit and exiting the living room.

Kyuhyun clenched on his jaw, embarrassed that Siwon caught him glaring at him earlier. But what was upsetting him was that Siwon pretended that he didn’t see him and took the chance to about it.

What is it with you! Oh, my god, just when I feel you’re not so bad, you provoke me like this! I really don’t like you Choi Siwon... But why is my heart still beating...

...

 

Meanwhile in the bathroom, Siwon was leaning on the sink while trying to calm his insides. He’s been holding his breath ever since he touched Kyuhyun...

What’s wrong with you, Siwon? He’s the surrogate and he clearly doesn’t like you so why are you getting nervous over seeing his white milky skin? Ughh... this is frustrating! This has to stop. We need to set some rules because we can’t keep playing this tom and jerry game.

I need to be professional like the person I truly am. I won’t let his witty comments get the best of me. Cho Kyuhyun, I’m done trying to figure you out.

Going back to the living room, Kyuhyun narrowed his eyes in curiosity as he intently watched Siwon go through another room, picking a tablet before coming out again and settling on the couch across from him.

“Ok. So we’re going to make a contract”

Siwon confidently asked, causing Kyuhyun’s jaw to slightly drop open at the older’s words.

“A contract?”

“Yes. A contract” Siwon confirmed, making Kyuhyun roll his eyes while letting out a mocking laugh before retorting at him.

“Do you hear yourself? I’m not even pregnant yet!”

Kyuhyun said in disbelief, looking straight into the older’s eyes with orbs filled with agitation.

“But you will be” Siwon stated, making Kyuhyun look at him determinedly as he said “What if I don’t?”

“What if you do?” Something in the way Siwon looked at him with hope in his orbs, was making Kyuhyun speechless and not sure what to say next.

“We have nothing to lose. If you don’t get pregnant, then this contract never happened”

Siwon explained, his tone turning softer which only made Kyuhyun shake his head in surrender.

“You’re really weird, Siwon-ssi”

“I’m a businessman and I should’ve taken this step from the beginning”

Kyuhyun narrowed his eyes trying to read the meaning behind Siwon’s words. However, since it was his first time as a surrogate, it left him thinking if drawing a contract with the client was what they were supposed to do in the beginning of it all.

The money he took from Siwon and the little help he gave him the other day flash into his mind, which left him guessing that it was probably not something that normally happened between surrogates at their clients, hence making his face expression turn sad.

“I see” He exclaimed with a bitter smile.

“So, shall we start?” Siwon then unlocked the device, opening a new blank page before looking at Kyuhyun who could merely nod at him “Okay, so the first clause would be...”

The older looked at Kyuhyun, giving him the chance to start. The latter inhaled deeply before determinedly facing Siwon and stating.

“No interference in the other person’s life” The surrogate could feel Siwon’s face twisting and his lips slightly parting about to object, so he added “Unless it concerns the baby’s health”

Siwon thought for a second, noting the determination in the younger’s eyes before turning his attention to the tablet and writing down the first condition.

“Fair enough”

Something inside Kyuhyun was boiling. He didn't know what it was, but he couldn't help but feel kind of disappointed. His relationship with Siwon already started on the wrong foot, but there were some moments when he believed Siwon wasn't like all the other rich people.

But now with this contract? He didn't know what to think anymore...

“Okay next. I need to be the one you call if anything happened”

Siwon sternly stated, leaving Kyuhyun questionably tilting his head to one side.

“Like what?”

“Anything that may danger the child”

There it was again that look in Siwon’s eyes that made Kyuhyun think that he was different.  

“I’ll put you on my speed dial, how about that?”

“I would appreciate it”

Although Kyuhyun meant for his words to come out as sarcastic, it didn’t sound that way to Siwon who slowly nodded his head before focusing back on the device in hand.

“Another thing” Siwon started, causing Kyuhyun to anticipatedly look at him with round eyes.

“You can’t have a ual relationship with anyone during your pregnancy”

Kyuhyun’s eyes bulged out as his face turned red from embarrassment. Why would Siwon interfere in his ual life?

“What is that have to do with you? The first clause says that we won’t be interfering in each other’s lives!”

The surrogate snapped, surprising Siwon by the harsh tone he used.

“Trust me, I don’t care about who you sleep with, but if it will affect my child then I should care”

Why does my heart race with the thought of Kyuhyun sleeping with someone?

Kyuhyun scoffed in irritation, sharply glaring at the older before stating between his gritted teeth.

“You know Siwon-ssi, this may be my first time, but if one thing I know for sure, is to be responsible for the decisions I make. Now, I agreed on giving you a baby and like I said earlier, I’m going to do my best to deliver you a healthy one. So don’t go poking your nose into my personal life”

Kyuhyun said in one breath, leaving Siwon speechless once again at the way the surrogate spoke to him.

Siwon put the tablet on the table before turning to face the younger with a fierce look on his face.

“Listen Kyuhyun-ssi, I’m trying my best here to make this thing work between us. You may be inexperienced in this area but I never doubted your responsibility. I talked to your doctor and he said you should avoid ual acts until he says otherwise”

Kyuhyun averted his gaze away, couldn't take the way the older was looking at him. He didn’t know Siwon spoke to his doctor about this. He just assumed that the older was being selfish.

The younger could hear Siwon letting out a deep sigh, making his stomach twist in a weird way. A minute later of mere silence, Kyuhyun felt a shadow over his head, and when he turned around, he caught Siwon standing before him and for the first time that night, he could notice how tired the older’s face looked.

“You want to drink something?” Siwon gently asked, startling Kyuhyun since just a few seconds ago he was bashing at him, that all he could do was nod his head.

The older then disappeared, leaving Kyuhyun titling his head in confusion. How the hell does he do that? At one second he’s cold and arrogant that he makes me want to strangle him, and another second he’s all tender and gentle that he leaves my heartbeat racing for no reason...

...

A few minutes later, Siwon showed back into the living room, placing two cups on the coffee table before taking a seat in his earlier place.

Kyuhyun found himself avoiding the older’s gaze, afraid he would once again be faced by the cold version of Choi Siwon. His sight landed on the cup in front of him, peeking at its content and suddenly a small smile painted his face when he saw that it was his favorite drink.

“It’s hot cocoa” Siwon informed, causing Kyuhyun to snap his head at his direction before sweetly smiling at him.

The smile left Siwon’s stomach doing weird flips. He watched how Kyuhyun reached for the glass, blowed on it just like that time at the café, before taking a short sip and pulling away with a satisfied sound.

Something inside him shifted and made him realize that his earlier talk with himself in the bathroom, wasn’t quite working.

I still want to figure you out...

Siwon’s sight then fell on Kyuhyun's hands that were wrapped around the glass as if seeking warmth, and he couldn't help but be amazed by the boy’s slender fingers. He suddenly thought of his child, strangely wondering if he would get Kyuhyun’s features.

“Can I ask a question?” Kyuhyun started, snapping Siwon out of his reverie as he curiously nodded.

“Why didn’t you tell Heechul hyung about the check you gave me?”

It was hard for Kyuhyun to ask this question since he has been trying to forget it ever happened, but he was curious to why Siwon didn’t rat him out.

“Honestly?” Siwon paused, reaching for his cup of coffee and taking a sip as he felt his throat suddenly dry, before he added “Because I’d like to believe that you did it for a good reason. You don’t seem the kind of guy who takes money that he doesn’t deserve”

Kyuhyun slowly nodded his head, processing those words in his head and appreciating the sincerity in the older’s tone and the fact that he didn’t ask him about the reason he accepted the money in the first place.

And here’s your gentle side once again…

After adding a few more clauses to the contract, mostly things related to the doctor check-ups and Kyuhyun’s health, Siwon printed the paper and all that was left was signing.

However, before sealing the contract, the surrogate suddenly had another condition in mind.

“We forgot one thing” He abruptly exclaimed, startling Siwon who narrowed his eyes while re-checking the contract.

“What’s that?”

Kyuhyun innocently tilted his head at the older before explaining “You can’t fall in love with me”

That sentence left Siwon’s jaw dropping while his eyes expanded. Letting out a mocking laugh, he picked up a pen and added Kyuhyun’s condition before signing it.

“You watch too many dramas” Siwon said as he handed him the pen, making Kyuhyun glare at him.

“You can never be too safe” Kyuhyun defended.

“I’m not gay, remember?”

The surrogate finished signing, then while sweetly smiling at his client he declared.

“So you keep saying”

Although that should've left Siwon angry, the way Kyuhyun smiled at him made his heartbeat speed up instead.

A week later:

When Siwon arrived home after a busy day at work, he wearily stepped out of the elevator and dragged his feet to his house, loosening up his tie on the way.

Unlocking the door, his eyes fell on a white envelope that was obviously been stuck under his door. Frowning, he picked it up and read what was on the cover, noticing it was some lab results.

Curiously opening it, his eyes quickly scanned its content before they landed on a word written in red that immediately got his full attention. The word Positive made him nervously check the name of the patient and when Cho Kyuhyun came to sight, his heart started pounding in his chest knowing exactly what that paper meant.

Siwon focused again on the word positive that clearly meant that Kyuhyun was pregnant. A wide smile slowly creeping on his face as he suddenly felt excited about the news. However, as the thought of the surrogate came to his mind, he couldn't help but wonder why Kyuhyun didn’t tell him this personally.

Looking disappointed, he closed the door and stepped further inside his house, reaching the living room and slamming his body on the couch.

Siwon didn't seem to feel tired anymore. Nevertheless, something inside him wished that Kyuhyun was there so they could both celebrate this. Of course it was a surrogacy pregnancy, but at that moment, it seemed somewhat real.

Fetching his phone from his pocket, Siwon dialed the younger’s number and nervously waited for him to pick up.

> Hello, Cho Kyuhyun’s phone <

Siwon’s eyes narrow when someone else picked up Kyuhyun’s phone.

“Can I speak to Kyuhyun-ssi?”

> He can’t come to the phone right now, can I take a message? <

Siwon clenched on his jaw, different assumptions going through his mind right now. He took a deep breath before answering between his gritted teeth.

“I’ll just call him later”

> He’s working now but his shift will be over in an hour or so. Can I know who am I talking to? <

Working? So could this be his co-worker?

“It’s Siwon-ssi”

Siwon had to move the phone away from his ear for a second as a loud yelp echoed through the speakers.

> Siwon-sii! I heard a lot about you <

That startled Siwon and made him curious to what Kyuhyun had said about him. His heart started beating a little bit faster than usual as he asked “Is that so? Like what?”

> Sorry can’t tell ya! Bro-code thing <

Siwon was kind of disappointed about that reply, but when remembering the time they drew the contract, and assuming Kyuhyun was the one to come up with this Bro-code, he could only smile absent-mindedly.

“It’s cup of joy, right?”

He unconsciously found himself asking and by the time the guy on the phone confirmed and he ended the call, Siwon was already pushing the elevator button.

Fifteen minutes later, Siwon was parking his car in front of the coffee shop where Kyuhyun worked. Being who he was, he could never do something irrational like this. However, ever since Kyuhyun came in to his life, every single thing he had done was very far from rationality.

Walking inside the somehow crowed place, Siwon immediately headed upstairs, finding himself relieved that the table they occupied the first time they came here was free. Just as he took a seat, his eyebrows knitted together as he tried to figure out why choosing this exact spot, but before he could come up with some answer, a waiter came in to take his order.

“Hello Sir, what can I get you?”

When Siwon raised his head to look at him, a sudden familiar yelp came out of the waiter’s mouth which made Siwon guess it was the same guy who answered Kyuhyun’s phone before.

“Siwon-ssi, right?”

The waiter excitedly asked and before Siwon could respond, he quickly added “Changmin was right! Are you here to see Kyuhyun hyung? He’s busy but I’ll get him for you if you want… Oh, and I’m Minho by the way, Kyuhyun’s best friend”

Siwon could only stare at the blabbing man in front of him until he finished his talk with a wide smile on his face.

“Minho-ssi, can you ask Kyuhyun-ssi to come talk to me?”

The older was very impatient because he needed to talk to the surrogate. He didn't care about chatting with this stranger or wanting to know what him and Changmin said about him. All he wanted was to see Kyuhyun.

“Right! I’ll go get him”

And luckily Minho disappeared without asking too many questions, leaving Siwon quite nervous with his heart oddly racing again.

A couple of minutes later, as Siwon was absorbed in his inner thoughts, he was suddenly snapped out of them when the boy in his mind sat on the chair in front of him.

Kyuhyun was surprised when Minho told him Siwon was there to see him. He didn’t expect the older to come to him and so he was very curious to what he had to say.

The last time they met was a week ago when they made a contract about the pregnancy and then Siwon walked him downstairs to reach his cab. The older insisted on driving him himself, but Kyuhyun refused.

“It’s late, let me drive you” Siwon repeated for the third time, but the surrogate kept saying no.

“I don’t see how this is related to the baby since I’m not pregnant yet. So you don’t have to drive me, Siwon-ssi”

Kyuhyun argued, making Siwon sigh in defeat. Well the truth was, Kyuhyun wanted Siwon to drive him home. However, seeing the tired look on the older’s face and the fact that he lived far away from him, didn’t make him feel good about tiring him even more.

“Very stubborn”

Siwon commented as the cab parked in front of them. He opened the car for the younger, earning him a roll from Kyuhyun’s eyes although he did blush at the gesture.

“Let’s hope your baby gets that quality from me” The younger exclaimed as he gets into the cab, leaving Siwon smiling at those words.

Ever since that day, Kyuhyun had been thinking a lot about this surrogacy job and mostly about his client. True he was kind of disappointed that Siwon found it necessary to draw a contract between them, however, he soon got used to the idea and instead of feeling let down, he focused on taking care of himself and putting his goals ahead of him.

Sitting in front of Siwon, Kyuhyun crossed his arms over his chest while shyly gazing anywhere but the older.

“How have you been?” Siwon asked, looking into Kyuhyun’s face and noting how he was trying hard not to look at him.

“Okay” Kyuhyun whispered, and when Siwon put an envelope on the table, his face unexpectedly felt on fire, making him bite on the inside of his cheek while bending his head low. He still hadn’t got used to the idea that he was pregnant with Siwon’s child and it still felt weird that a person was then growing inside him.

“Why didn’t you tell me yourself?”

Siwon asked, making Kyuhyun snap his head at him and instantly regret it when he found the older tenderly looking at him with a hint of disappointment in his orbs that was leaving his heartbeat speeding with anxiety.

“I-I didn’t want to intrude on your moment” Kyuhyun honestly stated, nervously biting on his lower lip when he saw Siwon slowly nodding his head while shifting his gaze away.

His stomach started acting out weirdly wondering what Siwon was thinking about right then, but before he could ask, the older looked up at him again as he determinedly said “You should move in with me”

Kyuhyun’s eyes bulged out at the statement. He didn’t expect Siwon to ask him to live with him and so the surprise was written all over his face.

“W-what?”

Siwon understood that his request was too sudden. He himself didn’t think of it until then. He just wanted to witness the process of Kyuhyun carrying his baby and there was no better way than living together.

“I know it’s sudden, but by moving in-“

“No!”

Kyuhyun cut him off as he abruptly stood up, harshly banging on the table to prove his point.

“I agreed to the contract, I’m doing my best to be a good surrogate, but I’m sorry Siwon-ssi. I can’t move in with you”

Siwon’s eyes expanded as he was trying to make sense of the younger’s words. He didn’t expect him to get mad about it.

“Kyuhyun-ssi”

Before Siwon could even say anything, the boy vanished from his sight, leaving him dumbfounded with tons of questions running through his head.

Going back to the dressing room, Kyuhyun was sitting on the bench, hands clutching on the wooden chair as he tried to take deep breaths to calm himself.

He didn't know how he reacted that way but the thought of leaving his brother behind scared the hell out of him. He freaked out because he was scared Siwon would try to convince him to move in with him and that was why he didn’t give him a chance to speak.

“Hey buddy. What’s wrong?”

His friends who noticed him rushing to the back room immediately followed him to check up on him.

Jonghyun and Changmin took a seat on each side, silently waiting for Kyuhyun to cool down to tell them what happened.

“He wants me to move in with him”

Kyuhyun whispered after a couple of minutes, and as he said those words out loud, Siwon’s image flashed through his mind and he couldn't help but feel guilty about the way he reacted.

“And you don’t want to?” Changmin carefully asked, his hand soothingly rubbing the surrogate’s back.

Kyuhyun looked at him with narrowed eyes, lips parted ready to reply, but the words wouldn't come out so he just averted his gaze away.

“Is it Donghae hyung?” Jonghyun asked, earning him a nod and a pout from his friend.

“I can’t…” Kyuhyun wearily stated before burying his face in his hands while probing his elbows on his knees.

“Kyu, you can’t be there twenty four seven. Besides, the nurse is there during the day”

Changmin tried to help his friend because he knew how important the matter was to him.

“And to be fair, Siwon-ssi has the right to be there along the process” Jonghyun added, making Kyuhyun let out a whiny voice before straightening up and standing on his feet.

The surrogate started pacing the tiny room from one corner to the other, biting on his thumb while thinking of what he should do.

“What about at nights? Who will stay there?” He asked while facing his friends who exchanged a look between them before Changmin spoke up.

“Well, we can take turns if you’d like” Kyuhyun’s eyes sparkled with a tint of hope as a smile started painting his face. He then approached his friends and crouched before them.

“You wouldn’t mind?”

“How many Kyuhyun do we have?” Minho interrupted them as he came in to the room as well, hearing a part of their conversation and being the smart boy he was, it wasn't hard to catch up the topic right away.

Kyuhyun turned to face him, a wide smile pricking his lips before motioning him to come closer.

“Thank you guys”

Then Kyuhyun engulfed them all in an appreciative hug.

Siwon was lying on his bed, still in his suit as he was too immersed in his thoughts to even change his clothes. The surrogate’s words kept rewinding in his head and he couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong from the way Kyuhyun looked at him.

Sighing for the umpteenth time that night, he reached for his phone while contemplating on if he should call Kyuhyun or not. However, before coming up with a decision, the door bell rang which made him toss the phone and head downstairs to see who was disturbing him at such an hour.

Opening the door with a glare on his face, ready to yell at whoever was knocking on his door in the middle of the night, he was suddenly startled when no one other than Cho Kyuhyun was standing by his door, looking straight into his eyes with determination written all over his face.

“Where’s my room?” He confidently asked, causing Siwon’s eyebrows to knit in confusion. Nevertheless, when his sight landed on the bag in Kyuhyun’s hand, he glanced again at the boy for a second, smiling on the inside before moving away and giving him way to step inside.

“This way”
