Waking up, Kyuhyun lazily stretched his body with a satisfied smile before curling to his side and slowly opening his eyes. At first it was hard to adjust to the lightening coming through the curtained window, but after a couple of blinks and a face that suddenly appeared in his sight, his eyes jolted open.

“Good morning”

Kyuhyun repeatedly blinked, trying to remember where he was and what the person with the dimpled smile was doing there, and when his mind was finally able to put all the pieces from the night before together, he shifted his gaze to the spaced bedroom and realized he was actually sleeping in Siwon’s bed.

“W-why am I here?”

He softly asked, coughing a bit since his throat felt sore after all the crying he did the night before.

Siwon on the other hand, was somewhat lost in Kyuhyun’s adorable way of waking up. He thought he had seen all of the boy’s cuteness by then, but turned out there was more to it which always made him wonder if his child would be the same. The thought only was making his heart flutter.

Gently caressing the surrogate’s hair, he answered the younger’s curiosity that was clear on his face.

“Well, you fell asleep and I brought you here. I hope you don’t mind”

“You carried me here?” Kyuhyun abruptly sat up, supporting his weight with one hand while the other one rested onto his belly.

“Yeah”

Guiltily chewing on his bottom lip, Kyuhyun bent his head down as he started rewinding everything that happened the night before.

Siwon was very comforting and understanding toward his situation. Kyuhyun didn’t know how he ended up talking about what happened to his family because it really hurt whenever he merely thought about it. However, something about Siwon was encouraging him to open up and it felt actually really good to tell someone about his family’s accident. Siwon didn’t pity him like he expected but instead his words were very sincere.

“Sorry”

He whispered, eyes slowly looking up to meet Siwon’s, a faint smile curving his lips when he found the latter smilingly watching him.

“For what?”

“Troubling you. I-I’m kinda heavy so…”

Kyuhyun explained, his cheeks flushing as he imagined how Siwon might’ve carried him from the living room all the way to his bedroom.

“No trouble at all”

Not wanting to go into another fat misunderstanding like the one from that night at the restaurant, Siwon got out of bed and stretched his arm for Kyuhyun so he could also stand up.

“Let’s have breakfast”

Kyuhyun shyly nodded, taking Siwon’s hand which made a shiver run through his veins leaving him reminiscing about the warmth he experienced when he was in Siwon’s arms the night before.

His mind was asking tons of questions about the sudden change in their relationship, yet his heart just shrugged it off… for now.

Finishing their breakfast, which was Kyuhyun’s favorite by the way, colorful just like he liked, Siwon was back facing him cleaning the dishes on the sink while Kyuhyun sat on the kitchen counter watching him as he munched on some cookies.

“We should visit Dr. Park today”

Siwon suddenly said, looking at Kyuhyun from behind his shoulder and not missing on how the boy apologetically gazed at him.

“Sorry I’ve been putting it off. I just didn’t have anyone to take care of Hae hyung”

Siwon instantly felt bad, not at all meaning to blame the boy or scold him. So wiping his hands with a towel, he walked toward him and gently put some strands of hair out of his face before sincerely stating.

“I understand. You have nothing to be sorry about”

Kyuhyun smiled, feeling a wave of gratitude rushing through his heart as he stared at the man whom he knew for only five months yet he couldn’t help but grow used to.

All of those earlier questions rushed back to hunt his mind and it was making him eager to figure out their answers.

“We’ll go see your brother first, then head to the hospital”

Siwon added, making Kyuhyun frown in surprise, and as he was about to say something, the kiss landing on his forehead made him stop, too lost in the way it made his heart quiver.

His eyes fluttered close and a sudden warmth travelled to his cheeks making them bloom in a rosy blush, and when Siwon pulled away a couple of seconds later, Kyuhyun tried really hard to suppress his whine at the loss of those lips, taking a deep breath while avoiding the older’s gaze.

“Wanna go change?”

Slowly nodding, Kyuhyun stood up and walked past the older with his head still bent down as he started questioning the strange feeling dancing in his stomach.

Thinking it was just the baby playing, he decided to let it go.

Arriving at Kyuhyun’s building, Siwon carefully followed him upstairs, smiling at the way the surrogate struggled and cursed with each step, grumpy since the elevator was out of service which meant he had to climb the stairs until the third floor.

Siwon wanted to offer to carry him, but seeing the foul mood, he chose not to. Instead, he just followed suit with his palms in front of his chest ready to catch the boy if he fell.

“Exercising would’ve b-“

Siwon started nonchalantly but was cut off mid-sentence when the boy abruptly turned around and shot him the scariest glare he had ever seen, making him instantly raise his hands in apology.

“Just because you have a nice body…. Tsk...” Kyuhyun mumbled to himself, blushing at his own words that didn’t escape Siwon’s ears who shortly chuckled.

“Whose fault is it that I’m this big? Ha?”

Siwon knew by now how unpleasant Kyuhyun’s mood could get so he chose not to answer. He instead walked next to the boy, his arm supporting his waist as he helped him with the last row of stairs.

Kyuhyun forgot what he was saying or why he was angry in the first place when the familiar warmth surrounded his body. He couldn’t take his eyes off of Siwon but luckily the latter missed on it as he was too focused on watching Kyuhyun’s steps so he wouldn’t fall.

That strange feeling in his stomach came back as he inhaled the masculine smell he was so used to by now, and took note of each detail of Siwon’s face. The way his eyebrows were knit in focus as he tended to not let him fall made him slightly shudder, memories of how he met the man and all the misunderstandings they had before flashed before his eyes leaving him quite confused and eager to find out the reason behind their changed relationship.

He was too lost in his thoughts and so he didn’t notice that they already reached their floor and Siwon was now staring back at him with a worried look.

“Are you okay?”

Kyuhyun snapped out of it, his face exploding into a shade of red as he was thinking of an answer. Luckily, there was a shadow a few steps away that caught his attention and as he inspected the person standing in front of his apartment, his eyebrows rose in shock.

“Hyukjah-ssi? W-what are you doing here?”

Kyuhyun wasn’t keen for strangers to find out about his life story. However, Hyukjae was somewhat like Siwon’s brother and thus he didn’t know if he should feel upset that the older shared his secret, or to be understanding about it.

“I asked him to come… Is that okay with you?”

Sensing the gentle hand squeezing his side to get his attention, Kyuhyun turned to look at Siwon who lovingly looked at him and he just couldn’t be angry when he caught on the slight fear showing in his orbs, certainly because he was afraid he would be mad at him. Thus, he faintly smiled while shortly shaking his head.

“It’s okay”

Siwon let out a sigh of relief and a thankful smile before averting his gaze to his friend who stood there with eyebrows knit in confusion, still having no idea about why Siwon asked him to come there.

Walking toward him, Kyuhyun fetched his keys to open the door while Siwon mouthed ‘be patient’ to Hyukjae who anxiously nudged his elbow for some explanation.

With a deep breath, Kyuhyun stepped inside and motioned for Siwon and Hyukjae to do the same. The latter inspected the small ordinary apartment carefully before turning to his friend.

“Is this Kyuhyun-ssi’s house?”

Kyuhyun slowly nodded, and as Siwon noted the discomfort on his face, he quickly rushed to his side and put his arm around his shoulder.

“This is where Kyuhyun and his brother live”

Hyukjae titled his head to one side as he curiously asked “You have a brother?”

Kyuhyun nodded again with a faint smile, shortly glancing at Siwon for courage before heading toward the main bedroom with the men following him from behind.

“Hae hyung… we have guests”

Kyuhyun greeted as he walked closer to the lifeless man, taking a seat on the edge of the bed and leaning down to place a soft peck on his temple.

Pulling away and taking a few deep breaths to hold back the tears that easily formed whenever he saw his brother in that state, Kyuhyun forced a smile on his lips as he turned to face the other two men in the room.

Siwon’s heart slightly jumped in ache as he intently inspected the painful look on the surrogate’s face, and he wanted nothing but to go hug him and assure him he would do anything to make that look go away but he just couldn’t and frankly he didn’t know if he was allowed to.

Hyukjae on the other hand, let his eyes roam the small bedroom for a moment before a sudden weird feeling washed over him, urging him to take a few steps closer to have a clearer look at the face of the unconscious man since Kyuhyun’s body was blocking his view.

Once he was standing in front of him though, his breath hitched and his eyes bulged out leaving Kyuhyun and Siwon curiously eyeing him.

“Hyukjae? What is it?”

Siwon was the first to ask, walking closer as well until he was standing next to Kyuhyun.

“I-Is everything okay?”

Kyuhyun nervously asked, his voice bringing Hyukjae back from his trance as he gazed at the boy and whispered “Fishy”

The surrogate’s eyes shot open at the nickname that only his and Donghae’s friends know, leaving all sorts of questions flying around in his head.

“H-How… d-do you know?”

Siwon puzzlingly watched from the side, trying to understand what they were talking about. Luckily, Hyukjae shook his head to clear his mind before stating.

“I’ve met him before”

Kyuhyun’s hand flew to his mouth before he muttered “You did?”

Hyukjae nodded, a few tears managing to gather in the corner of his eyes so he took a deep breath to will them away before he started telling the two curious men how he knew Donghae…

 

It was a rainy day when Hyukjae’s car decided to give him trouble by breaking down in the middle of a busy street in Seoul.

The day hadn’t been all nice to him since he first woke up as it all started with the alarm not going off in the morning causing him to be very late for work, then when he did arrive, he had to crash into one of his co-workers who happened to hold a hot cup of coffee and thus spilling it all over his shirt, and as if he wasn’t in a very bad mood, he had to take over one of Siwon’s meetings since the latter had some urgent work to do, then to make it worst, his car broke down in the middle of the street when he was finally heading home for a much needed rest.

Cursing at his luck, Hyukjae deeply sighed as he climbed off the car after dialing the tow company, whom they said they should be there in about an hour.

Letting his gaze roam the busy street, his eyes fell on a small coffee shop by the corner and so he decided to head there for some deserved strawberry milkshake which was the only thing that could make up for his screwed up day.

Entering the shop and walking toward the counter, Hyukjae inspected the menu plastered on the wall in hopes to find what he was craving for, cheering an excited ‘Yes’ when he did.

“How can I help you, sir?”

When Hyukjae turned to answer the man speaking to him, his words hung in mid-air since the slightly short guy standing before him with fluffy brown hair and a child-like smile left him speechless.

“I-I…” He started but unable to get the words right, he titled his head to the side as he seriously asked “Have you fallen from heaven?”

The boy behind the counter snickered loudly at the cliché comment, although his cheeks couldn’t escape the sudden blush.

“Excuse me?”

Hyukjae could only blink, still trying to process what just happened and why his heart was drumming off beat.

“Would you go out with me?”

The boy’s eyes grew in size, not believing the guy’s audacity to ask him out after meeting for a mere couple of seconds.

“You’re crazy, sir. Now if you’re not going to order anything, there are people waiting in line”

Hyukjae didn’t seem willing to take the rejection as he didn’t budge from his spot and instead continued his interrogation “Who are you?”

The boy tsked as he rolled his eyes in annoyance “I should be asking you that!”

Realizing he should maybe introduce himself first, Hyukjae took out his work card and handed it to the startled boy, putting a wide smile on his face as he watched him reading it.

“Lee Hyukjae from Twosome café?”

Hyukjae frantically nodded, the smile never leaving his lips which made the boy quite annoyed by the effect it had on him.

“Then why are you here? Doesn’t that count as betrayal?”

Leaning on the counter with hands crossed, Hyukjae smilingly shook his head as he muttered “Which means this is fate”

Again rolling his eyes at the cheesy line, the boy decided to just give up as he looked into Hyukjae’s eyes while stating “Boss!”

“Yes Fishy?”                                              

“I’m taking my break now. Min will fill in for me”

Then without saying a word, the boy turned around and disappeared into the kitchen leaving Hyukjae staring at him with his kicked puppy eyes.

“Can I help you, Sir?”

Minho asked, earning him a short glare from Hyukjae before he ditched the line and went to the corner of the coffee shop hoping to get a glimpse of the boy again.

He didn’t know what just happened to him, but after the day he had went through, he felt that meeting this boy was like a fresh breeze of air for him.

Unfortunately, as he awkwardly stood there waiting for the boy to show up again, the tow company came and he had to leave, but he sure was planning on coming back.

“C-creepy man?”

Kyuhyun muttered, leaving Hyukjae questionably eyeing him.

“I can’t believe this”

“What is it?”

Siwon curiously asked as he noted the little smile curving the corner of Kyuhyun’s lips. Instead of answering though, the surrogate abruptly stood up and walked to the other side of the bed trying to find something in the drawer, and when he did, he returned to his earlier place and handed it to the startled Hyukjae.

“I believe this is yours”

The work card Hyukjae gave Donghae that day was handed to him which left him widely eyeing the surrogate.

“H-He kept it?”

Kyuhyun nodded, smiling as he recalled how his brother kept blabbing non-stop about the creepy boy with the gummy smile who came to the shop and started throwing cheesy lines at him.

“He wouldn’t shut up about you”

That statement put a proud smile on Hyukjae’s face but it didn’t last for long as he shifted his gaze to the unconscious man, who despite the paleness, he still looked like the boy who fell out of heaven.

A sad look took place on his face as he clutched on the card in his hand “I can’t believe he kept it”

“How long has it been?” Siwon asked, still astonished about how small the world is and how life had brought the two together again.

“Almost a year. I went back the day after, but they said he doesn’t work there anymore. I was so furious back then”

Kyuhyun nodded before hanging his head down, feeling his eyes b with tears knowing the cause behind it, and when he felt the familiar warmth surrounding him as Siwon put his arm around his shoulder, those tears couldn’t stay locked as they trickled down his cheeks.

“That’s when the accident happened” He whispered, hands clutching on the hem of his shirt as he leaned his head on Siwon’s board shoulder for comfort.

“I can’t believe they know each other”

Siwon muttered on their way to the clinic, his head couldn’t help but think about the odds of his best friend knowing his surrogate’s brother. Maybe if the accident didn’t happen and Kyuhyun wasn’t his baby’s surrogate, perhaps they would’ve still met knowing how his friend never gives up on what he sets his eyes on.

“Yeah”

“He found you familiar the first time you met, remember?”

Kyuhyun thought for a moment then his eyes slightly widened as he recalled the first time he met Hyukjae...

 

“Oh” Hyukjae suddenly exclaimed when his sight landed on Kyuhyun, causing everyone in the room to fix their eyes on him, watching how he was staring intently at the younger.

“Is something wrong?” Siwon asked in somewhat a whisper, causing Hyukjae to snap out of it and explain his sudden reaction.

“I’m sorry. You just look like someone I knew”

“It’s weird, ha?”

Siwon smilingly nodded, his eyes fixed on the road and so he didn’t see how Kyuhyun was admiringly staring at him.

“You think he will wake up?”

The shakiness in Kyuhyun’s voice made Siwon’s face expression stiffen as he didn’t want to give the boy a false hope although he already vowed to himself that he would do his best to make sure Kyuhyun would be reunited with his brother again.

“I’ll do everything I can”

Feeling a soft touch on his hand that was rested on the steering wheel, Siwon shortly turned to look at the boy, his heart flipping at the loving look he was giving him.

“Thank you, Siwon hyung”

It still felt weird to call Siwon like that and so Kyuhyun blushingly withdrew his hand and turned to look out the side window to hide his blush.

Siwon was dazed for a moment, staring at his hand where Kyuhyun touched him before focusing back on the road, a soft smile stretched on his lips.

Three hours later…

“Kyuhyun let’s talk!”

“I wanna be alone”

Siwon sighed in frustration as the boy stormed to his room as soon as they arrived home after their doctor’s appointment. He didn’t like seeing Kyuhyun cry but he knew the doctor’s announcement must’ve been quite shocking for him. He himself didn’t expect it at all…

“Ready?”

Dr Park asked as he started spreading the cold gel over Kyuhyun’s belly.

It was their second ultrasound and although it still all felt new to them, Siwon was there by Kyuhyun’s side holding his hand in support.

“Have you been feeling okay since your last check up?”

Earning a nervous nod, Dr Park put the scanner over Kyuhyun’s tummy and started moving it around searching for the embryo.

“Is the baby okay?”

Kyuhyun impatiently asked, earning a little giggle from the man by his side which left him pouting.

“Be patient”

Dr Park smiled, having seen these kinds of interactions before with his patients yet somehow even though this couple weren’t together, something about the way they act around each other was amusing him.

“Here we go”

Kyuhyun took a deep breath as he inspected the little monitor to his side, a giddy feeling in his stomach from the excitement of seeing the baby again, and as Dr Park said in their last visit, they might be able to hear the baby’s heartbeat.

“Wait a second…”

Dr Park exclaimed, causing Siwon to knit his eyebrows in concern.

“Is everything okay doctor?”

“Do you hear that?”

“Hear what?” Kyuhyun nervously asked, a few drops of sweat already forming on his forehead as he saw the somewhat surprised look on his doctor’s face.

“The heartbeat?”

Siwon asked, tightening his hold on Kyuhyun’s hand as he felt it trembling in his grip.

“It’s… Oh my! Look at that!”

Kyuhyun whipped his head in Siwon’s direction looking at him in fear which made the older quite anxious as well.

“You’re scaring us, Doctor”

“Sorry I didn’t mean to” Dr Park apologetically smiled before pointing his finger to the monitor “See here? This is the first head and this is the second one”

Kyuhyun’s eyes bulged out, his fingers digging in Siwon’s hand as he stuttered out “The b-baby has two heads?”

“No no no. Kyuhyun-ssi” Dr Park rested his hand on Kyuhyun’s shoulder in assurance as he explained his point “You’re having twins”

Standing outside Kyuhyun’s bedroom, Siwon felt helpless. He wasn’t sure how to comfort the surrogate because he himself didn’t know how he was feeling about the new information.

He was already overwhelmed by the idea of having a child, and now it would be two. He was asking himself how he would be raising two kids by himself but then it wasn’t the time for that. He didn’t want to think about it because he couldn’t imagine what Kyuhyun must be feeling like.

Not having the courage to step inside, Siwon decided to call for help.

“Hi, it’s Choi Siwon… Can you come over? … No he’s okay … Thanks”

Half an hour later there was a knock on the door and Siwon headed downstairs to get it. When he saw the worried boy looking at him with curious eyes, he stepped aside and motioned for him to head upstairs, not sure if he could explain why he called him all of a sudden.

He contemplated if he should follow him upstairs and see how Kyuhyun was feeling but he decided to just go make some food instead since the surrogate would be hungry after all the crying he did.

“Hey buddy!”

The curling boy rolled his head when he caught on the familiar voice calling him, eyes widening for a second before more tears started coming out, sitting down and waiting for his friend to coax him.

“Changmin-ah!”

Never able to witness this vulnerable side of his friend, Changmin walked to him and immediately pulled him to his embrace, patting his back while whispering soothing words, wondering what could have happened that would make Kyuhyun cry like that, but he waited until the sobbing had reduced before slightly pulling away to look into Kyuhyun’s eyes.

“What happened?”

Kyuhyun sniffed before he seriously replied  “I’m doomed!”

“Why?”

“I can’t do this Chang! I c-can’t!”

Changmin assumed Kyuhyun was just having another wave of pregnancy hormones and so he tried to comfort the boy.

“Come on Kyu, there’s just a few months to go. You can do it!”

Frantically shaking his head, Kyuhyun wiped his runny nose with his sleeve before muttering “I’m having two babies, Chang”

Changmin’s eyes widened at the unexpected news, his jaw dropping open as he tried to process what Kyuhyun just said.

“T-twins?”

Kyuhyun nodded, pursing his lips into a deep pout that made Changmin clear his throat before speaking.

“Well, isn’t that cute? I mean… they will be like you and Donghae although you guys aren’t exactly twins but you were like ones”

He tried to make sense of the new information but Kyuhyun didn’t seem to be convinced.

“You don’t understand Chang! I will have to give up on two babies! I-I’m not sure I can do that. I already grew attached to this little person in my belly without knowing they are actually two”

Changmin sighed, recalling how he always questioned what would happen to Kyuhyun when this surrogacy job ends. At first he wasn’t really up for the idea but seeing how stubborn Kyuhyun was and the fact that Heechul wouldn’t have let him do this if he knew it would be bad for him, he decided to just support his friend.

The Kyuline were there for him ever since he joined Cup of Joy and took his brother’s place, and thus they all knew just how sad his life was. A couple of months back when they visit him at home and saw the way he acted and talked with Siwon, they realized Kyuhyun was actually happy. However, that happiness was bound to end one day which was what Changmin was the most worried about.

“But Kyu… you know you can’t keep them, right?”

Kyuhyun nodded, head bent down as he played with the hem of his t-shirt.

“I know but… It’s hard”

“I know buddy”

Embracing him in his arms again, Changmin rocked their bodies from side to side until he felt Kyuhyun’s body slightly relaxing.

“I’ll have to give up on three people that have become a part of my life”

Kyuhyun whispered, making Changmin pull away and look at him with knitted eyebrows.

“Three?”

Shyly biting on his lips, Kyuhyun guiltily stared into Changming’s eyes knowing how his friend always understood him.

“Oh, you mean Siwon-ssi?”

Seeing the blush blooming on Kyuhyun’s face, Changmin crossed his arms over his chest and while narrowing his eyes, he exclaimed.

“You love him, don’t you?”

The surrogates eyes widen, blinking repeatedly as the words kept replaying in his mind.

“I-I…”

“Don’t deny it, Kyu, and don’t think I haven’t noticed before”

“I don’t know how I feel, Chang. I mean, yes I think I’m starting to develop feelings for him but… it’s like we have a connection somehow, like through this baby we are becoming close. Does that make any sense?”

Changmin nodded at the explanation, heaving a deep sigh as he hang his head down and shortly got lost in his thoughts.

“A-Are you disappointed in me?”

Kyuhyun’s shaking question made Changmin snap his head up and meet his scared eyes.

“I can’t be and you know that. It’s just… I’m worried about you. What if he doesn’t feel the same way? What will happen when your job ends, huh?”

“I’m scared to think about it”

“But you have to”

Kyuhyun nodded, knowing his friend was right although he wasn’t sure he was ready to confront his feelings just yet. He was still overwhelmed by the new information that he would be having twins.

He knew he should talk to Siwon first, but after they left the clinic, he just couldn’t utter a single word during the whole ride and he didn’t miss on Siwon trying to open up the subject but then deciding otherwise.

The past five months have been life changing for him. Meeting Siwon was a mischance at first full of misunderstandings, but then it transformed into something beautiful in time. Although he couldn’t put a name into the way he felt about Siwon yet, however, he knew there was something special about it.

Being it reciprocated or not was the big question.

After Changmin had left, Kyuhyun started dozing off because of the excessive crying he did, and so he soon fell asleep while hugging his stomach.

He only woke up three hours later, scanning his surroundings and recalling what had happened, then looking at his tummy, he couldn’t help but smile while gently caressing it.

“Hey babies… how are you doing there?”

He softly muttered then waited for a couple of minutes before taking a deep breath and deciding to head downstairs. He felt guilty for ignoring Siwon knowing that it wasn’t actually his fault he was having twins, not on purpose anyway.

The said man was sitting in the living room going through channels even though his mind wasn’t fully on the tv screen. He was worried about Kyuhyun and Changmin’s words weren’t really that clear…

“Is he okay?”

Siwon anxiously asked the second Changmin stepped into the living room, slightly disappointed to not see Kyuhyun down with him.

“No”

Just as that word was spoken, Siwon headed toward the stairs to go check on Kyuhyun but he was stopped by Changmin holding on to his arm.

“Don’t. Just give him some time and he will come to you”

Feeling the sincerity in Changmin’s tone, Siwon nodded with a sigh and ran his fingers through his hair in helplessness.

“You know Siwon-ssi, Kyuhyun is very delicate. I hope you won’t forget that”

The sound of footsteps snapped him out of his daze, and when he caught on the boy standing before him with head bent down and hands nervously playing with his shirt, he abruptly stood up and walked toward him.

“How are you feeling?” Before Kyuhyun could answer, Siwon quickly added “Sorry that’s a stupid question to ask”

Raising his head to meet Siwon’s eyes, Kyuhyun managed to prick a very small sad smile as he stated “Physically, I’m okay. Mentally… not so much”

Siwon sighed for the umpteenth time since they got back from Dr Park’s appointment, intently gazing at Kyuhyun whose eyes looked puffy from the crying and which made his heart leap in guilt.

“Kyuhyun, I know this new information is a lot to take on but…”

He didn’t have any actual words that would make Kyuhyun feel any better about the situation he was put in and so he didn’t want to lie because he had no idea what the boy must have been feeling.

“How do you feel about it? Having two kids instead of one?”

“Honestly? I haven’t really thought about it yet”

“How come?”

Looking intently into Kyuhyun’s eyes, Siwon sincerely stated “I’m worried about you”

The words went straight to Kyuhyun’s heart leaving him tearing up as he suddenly had everything figured out, having the answers to all of those questions in his head which really scared him to death.

“Hey, hey… It’s gonna be okay”

Siwon soothingly ran his hands over Kyuhyun’s arms, placing a peck on his forehead before pulling him to his embrace only to be pushed away as the boy snapped “No it’s not!”

“Kyuhyun, we’ll get through this, I’ll be by your side”

Kyuhyun sobbed again, taking a step backward and shaking his head while muttering “I’m sorry, hyung”

“About what?”

Siwon confusedly eyed him, not sure he understood what Kyuhyun was referring to.

“I’m sorry, I broke the contract”

More tears broke free as Kyuhyun’s chest heaved up and down with the crying making Siwon panic.

“You’re scaring me! Just please calm down”

“I’m sorry hyung… I broke our contract”

“You’re freaking me out! What happened?”

“I fell in love”

Kyuhyun’s sudden confession made Siwon freeze in his spot, eyes blinking repeatedly as he tried to let his mind process the words. It felt like his heart had dropped to his ankles. He didn’t know why the words had affected him but they immensely did.

“K-Kyuhyun-“

“I know I shouldn’t have, but it just happened!”

The boy hurriedly explained, taking note of Siwon’s reaction which made his heart drown in nervousness.

“W-With who?”

Blinking in daze, Siwon managed to mumble between the several pangs he felt through his heart.

“With you”

Eyes wide open in shock, Siwon’s mind had out for a moment and all he could do was stand there dumbfounded for a couple of minutes.

Kyuhyun started freaking out by the look on Siwon’s face, body shaking as he regretted his confession although he was glad he finally found out the reason behind Siwon’s effect on him.

Tears strains frozen on his cheeks and heart frantically beating, he opened his mouth to speak but he didn’t get the chance since Siwon turned around and walked away from him, leaving him completely heartbroken.

He dragged his numb feet to the couch, the tears freely rolling down his face again and he cupped his mouth to stop the sobbing. It hurt so much. He didn’t know what he exactly expected from Siwon after his confession but not this for sure.

A couple of minutes later, he could feel the couch dip in and when he looked to his side and saw Siwon sitting there while handing him a glass of water, he instantly wiped the tears and pleaded  “Please don’t hate me!”

Siwon felt guilty for giving Kyuhyun such thought because he could never hate the boy. The words were too much for him to handle because he really was confused about his own feelings for a while now, so when he heard the confession, he just froze.

“Hey, hey. I can’t hate you… I just don’t know what to say”

He coaxed, putting the cup of water on the coffee table and cupping Kyuhyun’s hands in his.

“Please don’t kick me out”

“I won’t. Come here” Bringing him to his embrace, Siwon deeply sighed, his heart and mind were in frenzy arguing about his true feelings.

Kyuhyun had never been in love before and had never thought he would fall for Siwon and thus it was all new to him. He felt different since the first time they met, but he didn’t plan on confessing. It just happened when the mere thought of having to give up on the babies and the idea of not having Siwon in his life anymore was like a wake-up call for his heart.

“Hyung? Do you feel something about me?”

He mumbled against his chest before slightly pulling away in anticipation to hear Siwon’s answer.

“I don’t know”

The answer was sincere and although it broke Kyuhyun’s heart some more, he didn’t show it as he turned his head away and blocked the new wave of tears.

“I-It’s okay…”

Ruffling his hair in frustration, Siwon kneeled on the floor in front of Kyuhyun, holding his hands and making their gazes meet.

“Just… be patient with me, okay? I can’t deny that I’m not feeling anything… just… be patient”

Nodding, Kyuhyun took a deep breath before whispering “I’ll wait”
