Jonghyun took Yuna’s hand and dragged her away from Yonghwa and Jun Hee to give them some privacy.

“Let’s give them some space,” he said, his hands still on hers.

Yuna nodded but her eyes darted to their hands. She blushed and added, “You can let go of my hand now.”

Instead of letting go though, Jonghyun tightened his grip and smiled cheekily, “Aniyo. I want to hold your hands longer.”

Yuna giggled, then placed her attention towards the other couple. She watched as they talked things out. Sometimes Jun Hee would look guilty, then Yonghwa would look sad, then at one point, both of them shook their heads. For a moment, Yuna was worried that they would really end their relationship.

“They’re going to be fine. They love each other more than anyone,” Jonghyun assured her.

Just then, she saw Yonghwa leaning into Jun Hee and planting a kiss on her lips. Both of them broke into a wide smile as they held hands together. Seeing the sweet moment between them, Yuna couldn’t help but smile.

“See, I told you,” Jonghyun whispered to her ear.

Yuna turned to look at him but came face-to-face with him instead. Just inches away from each other, Yuna blushed even more as his once-cold eyes roamed from her eyes to her lips then back to her eyes again. Was he about to kiss her?

His eyes seemed to sparkle under the dim light but instead of making a move, he smirked and sat back up straight. Yuna watched him cluelessly as he continued sitting there as per normal.

After Yonghwa and Jun Hee had patched up, all of them had gone out for dinner to celebrate. Jonghyun was glad to see Yuna all cheerful. He had seen her being all too quiet for far too long; it was a nice change to see her smile.

As he lied on his bed the next morning, Jonghyun’s thoughts went back to when they were at the club. Their faces were so close to each other and her lips just seemed so tempting to him. He had wanted to make his move then; he had wanted to kiss her. But as he was looking at her, he got reminded of the fact that he was her first love. Which means he would probably be her first kiss. He had backed away immediately, pretending as if nothing unusual had happened. He wasn’t about to give her first kiss away just like that, in a club while watching their friends patched up.

Yuna’s text interrupted his thoughts. He smiled at the text and got up. Ah, it’s going to be a great day today, he thought to himself as he stretched out his arms. His phone rang just then.

“Ah Hyung,” he answered.

“Jonghyun-ah! I’ve got good news! Wah daebak..come down to the club now!” Yonghwa shouted to the phone.

Jonghyun rushed down to the club, where he saw Minhyuk and Jungshin already there. Seeing Jun Hee there too, he wondered what had happened. Yonghwa gathered them in front of the stage, grinning from cheek to cheek.

“Wae? Why did you ask to gather so early in the morning?” Jungshin growled.

Jonghyun laughed at his sight. His sleep was clearly interrupted. Yonghwa exchanged excited expressions with Jun Hee, teasing all of them with the suspense.

“Uri Jun Hee-yah had a discussion with her boss and she played some of our songs for him,” Yonghwa started.

“And?” Minhyuk stood up.

“He loved it!” Jun Hee exclaimed. “He wanted to listen to more!”

“Chongmal?” Minhyuk exclaimed.

“Yeh! He wants to check us out himself! Live!”

Immediately, all of the four men started jumping and cheering excitedly among themselves.

“Wah daebak! Daebak! This is the best news ever!” all of them screamed out.

“But wait, does this mean we’ll be going to Seoul?” Jungshin suddenly asked.

“Yeh, you’ll have to meet him in person there,” Jun Hee told them.

“For how long?” Jonghyun asked.

“Erm, at least 3 months? He really liked you guys so I guessed he’ll want to see more of your potential before he makes a deal,” Jun Hee explained.

“3 months? Wah! 3 months in Seoul!” Minhyuk and Jungshin cheered.

Jonghyun, however, stopped cheering. 3 months away from home? He’s not going to be there to protect Yuna then. Heol, he hasn’t even kissed her yet! , he thought.

He walked back home after they had all went for an early celebration lunch. As much as he loved that their music had finally been recognized, he was worried of how Yuna would react to the news. How will he break it to her?

He stepped out of the elevator, finally deciding to tell her later that day. But as he unlocked his door, the door behind him creaked open and suddenly, he felt a pair of arms around his waist. He turned his head in shock.

“Yuna-ah!”

“Yah! How can you not tell me immediately about the great news!” she hugged him tighter.

Jonghyun couldn’t help but put his worries away as his heart fluttered at the back hug. He pulled away from it and turned to face her.

“Jun Hee called and told me! Congratulations!” she pumped her fists in the air and made a cute expression on her face.

Jonghyun continued smiling without saying anything. Again, seeing her smile was just enough for him.

“Why aren’t you excited about this? You should be jumping up and down by now!”

Jonghyun stared at her as she looked at him cluelessly. Ah, she’s still so innocent. He took a step closer to her, and embraced her. She giggled before hugging him back.

“Boya?” she asked.

“I’ll be in Seoul for 3 months,” he uttered into her ears softly.

“I know, Jun Hee told me that too,” he heard her sigh.

They continued being in each other’s arms for a while. None of them uttered a single word as they enjoyed each other’s warmness.

“Do you want to sit on the floor again?” Yuna finally broke the silence.

Jonghyun broke off from the hug and cocked his eyebrows at her. “Mwoh?”

She slid her hands into his and dragged him to sit beside her. She smiled as she played with his fingers. “There’s still some time left till you leave. I’m fine with that.”

“Aigoo, there you go acting all strong again,” he uttered, taking his hands off hers.

He dug deep into the pockets of his coat and took out a small metal container where he kept all his guitar picks. Among them, he picked out one which was black in colour with a simple white carving of his name. He stared at it for a moment before he handed it to Yuna. She looked at him confused.

“Take it,” he told her coolly. “That’s my very first guitar pick. It holds a lot of memories to me. I’d like you to have it now.”

She took the pick and observed it in detail. “Yeppeuda.”

Jonghyun leaned in closer and pointed out to the carvings. “I carved that out myself.”

“Nice,” she smiled. “I’ll keep it with me forever.”

She turned her head swiftly to look at him and once again, they found their faces inches away from each other. Jonghyun found himself lost in Yuna’s widened eyes and slowly, his eyes moved towards her lips again. But unlike before, this time he decided to give in to temptations.

He leaned in bit by bit, nervous of her reaction. She didn’t back away; right till the tips of their noses brushed each other. His eyes were set on her pinkish lips, and slowly he placed his lips against hers. She didn’t react at first; as expected of her since he knew it was her first. He pressed his lips deeper, before quickly pulling apart gently.

He watched her as he broke off the kiss. She still had her eyes closed but slowly, she opened them and their eyes landed on each other once more. He could hear both of their heavy breathing as well as his thumping heartbeat as the rush of blood filled his face. It suddenly felt so heaty between them. It wasn’t his best kiss, but he made sure that it was the best first kiss he could give her.

Slowly, he saw the edges of her lips curving upwards. Seeing that, he too began to draw a smile on his face.
