Episode 05

❝ We Got Babies! ❞

Important note from author-nim below!! *I know this is late but i just got home*

“We just have one more surprise left for you.” The twelve families heard the producer say. Some were dying with anticipation, excited with what would come next, while others were just well spent for the day.

The staff were chuckling in the inside, watching each of the expressions of both EXO guys who were mostly cuddling with their babies and some of the wives who were quite a bit worried about their child. Their roles as mothers had obviously taken over them.

The atmosphere was both silent and a bit chaotic at the same time with the babies around; nothing could be peaceful within the family. And so, the producer gathered much of his breath and did his best to make everything loud and clear. “You all had enough of surprises for today. It is time for all of you to go back to the big house and settle yourselves down. We will have another surprise for all of you tomorrow. For now, relax as much as you can.” With this, the EXO guys were very much relieved and let out a huge sigh altogether.

“But~!” The producer added once again with a big smile on his face.

Groans were heard. The staff couldn’t help but laugh.

Hiro tilted his head in curiosity as to why there were so many different reactions from all the people that he saw and poked Tao near the mouth to catch his attention since he was the one carrying him. When Tao looked at Hiro, Hiro pouted his lips, trying to point at nothing in particular since there were many people that he was curious about. Tao didn’t understand any of this and so, just nodded at him and caressed his head. Hiro pouted even more because of this and decided to look for his mom. Once he saw her at the left side of Tao, he flapped his hands to get her attention.

Sooyeon transferred her gaze from the front to Hiro, noticing his hand flapping, and saw Hiro pout once again. Sooyeon thought that he wanted a kiss and thus, she kissed Hiro on the lips and smiled at him. Hiro was surprised by this but he was happy as well.  But his curiosity was never answered, and so, he turned his body profusely in Tao’s arms to look for other people to ask but got no one. Soon, he gave up and just slumped his head on Tao’s shoulders.

Chen, on the other hand, was quite worried that his daughter was not fond of him. Still caught up with what’s going on even though he had a lot of thoughts going on in his mind, he gathered up his voice and said, “You guys really like trolling us, don’t you?” He accused the staff members.

The producer smirked. “The troll speaks?”

Chen looked shocked. “What? I’m not a troll…”He pouted at the accusation.

“You are.” Most of the EXO guys groaned. This earned a chuckle from their wives as well as their kids as to how they really know each other and were much synchronized most of the time.

“What? I am?”

“You are, Chen.” The producer confirmed. “Anyway, back to my ‘but’ earlier. So, before we go, the top five for each task would have a reward!”

Chanyeol was the first one to react. “Wooo~!!! Rewards!!! I am one of the top five, right? Right?”

One side of the producer’s mouth quirked up. “We’ll see.” He extended one of his hands out at the back to reach a couple of enveloped cards passed to him by one of the staff members and opened one of them. “Top five for finding your wife quest: Kai, Sehun, Baekhyun, Lay, and Luhan. Please step up to get your prizes.”

The said people stepped up and the dads like Luhan, Sehun and Lay who were cuddling their babies, passed those babies to their wives for now. Kai and Baekhyun on the other hand, just simply stepped out and went in front of the producer who was now holding a package. The five boys formed a half-circle in front of the producer as the latter was opening the said package.

He pulled out five cards and gave them to each member who was in the top five.

“What is this?” Kai asked, frowning a bit because he was expecting something more.

Luhan stared at it in all directions, wondering the same thing about what he would do with this card.

Sehun on the other hand guessed what it was. “Is this like a sticky note thing?”

“Why would you give us some sticky notes?” Baekhyun asked curiously.

“To not forget something?” Lay muttered randomly. “You don’t want us to forget something important?” He asked the producer.

“Hahah. No. No. And no.” The producer answered the question of the last three guys. “This is a wish card. This will be your prize.”

“We can wish for anything?” Kai’s eyes beamed with this.

“No, not really.” The producer scratched his head. “You will write down there your wish. What you want with your wife, what you want to happen, something like that.” He explained shyly, blushing the tiniest bit at hearing his own words.

“Ooo~” Baekhyun was amazed. “So that means we can…”

“Shhh!” The producer scolded him. “Not like that alright? Remember, we are in a show. All ages are watching this. So you must be careful.”

Baekhyun grinned mischievously. “Hyung, what were you thinking? I wasn’t thinking of anything like that.”

Kai blushed shyly, getting where this conversation was running to. Lay as well who was just smiling shyly, looking around, trying to be oblivious about this whole thing.

“Hyung, I’m not even in the legal age yet.” Sehun pouted, reminding his hyungs that they should not be talking about these things.

“Hahahha… okay okay. My bad.” The producer apologized and patted Sehun’s shoulder a couple of times. “So that’s that. You can give it to your wife anytime you want. Off you go now.”

The five EXO guys did as they were told and went back to their respective families, curious wives were waiting for them.

“Oppa. What was the prize?” Minjung asked curiously when Kai got back to her—seeing nothing big in hand but a piece of card which he inserted inside his pocket.

“What? Nothing in particular. It is only for me. It’s for boys only.” He answered; pure reflex took over him as he didn’t know what to do about the wish card at the moment.

Minjung nodded. “Okay, oppa.” She easily released the topic since it didn’t concern her since he said it was for boys only.

Sehun heard the conversation of Kai and Minjung since he was right next to the said couple and looked at his own wife who was still blushing as usual ever since they knew that they were married. “Nee, Yunnie.” He called out to her, a bit surprised by his first ever nickname of her.

Yunmi was surprised as well but looked up at Sehun to meet his gaze, not sure if he really was calling her. As she looked up, she met Sehun’s eyes and blushed quite a bit more.

Sehun saw this and took it the other way. “I’m sorry; you don’t like ‘Yunnie’?”

Yunmi shook her head furiously. “It’s not that…”

Sehun tilted his head. “It’s not? Then why are you so red?” He asked curiously. “Do you have a fever?” He guessed and checked if she does have a fever by touching her forehead. “Doesn’t seem like it…Are you okay?”

Yunmi nodded, frozen. “Y-yeah. I’m okay… This is nothing.” She affirmed him and immediately looked busy with their child.

“Okay…” Sehun nodded absently and just studied her as she busily talked to Soo Ju.

Baekhyun flipped the wish card in his hands, staring at it into oblivion.

Yuna stared at him weirdly. “What’s that?” She asked, pointing at the card Baekhyun was holding.

“Hmm?” Baekhyun looked at Yuna.

“I asked what that is…” She repeated once again.

“Oh, this? This is a wish card. This is the prize that I got. I’m supposed to write some wish that I want to happen with you.”

Yuna was startled. “Wh-what the…”

“Shhh… we are with the kids.” He reminded her.

Yuna frowned at him. “I know. I never meant to finish it in the first place.”

Baekhyun shrugged in response.

“Hey, what are you writing over there?” Eunmi asked at the busy Lay who immediately took out a pen and busily wrote stuff on the card that he got from earlier.

Lay looked up and looked at Eunmi. “This? Just some wishes that I want to happen with you…” He answered absently. “I’m writing them down now so that I won’t be able to forget them later on.”

Eunmi blushed a little at his words. You can be very straightforward at times. She said to Lay mentally. “Like what?” She asked curiously as she tried to look at what Lay wrote on the card.

Surprisingly, Lay was quick enough to move the card out of reach. “No, no, no…” He chuckled. “You should not see this yet.”

“What? But you already wrote stuff in there. If you want something to happen, don’t you want it to make it true as soon as possible?”

“Maybe.” Lay nodded in agreement. “But it’s not time yet.”

Eunmi pouted at him. “When will the time be then?” She muttered. “Soon you will forget about that.”

“I won’t. That’s why I’m doing the writing now and maybe I can add some stuff later on as well. And then I can give it to you if I feel like it.”

“Fine.” Eunmi dismissed it, pretending to be angry at him as she faced the other way.

Hwa Young heard about the wish card from the other couples, being at a near distance with them is hard to ignore what they are talking about. But she was curious as to what Luhan would write in that wish card. And so, she decided to ask him. Shy as she may be, she gathered up all her strength to ask him.

“So…” She started—trying to find the right words to ask. “What are you going to write in that wish card?” those words came out and Hwa Young didn’t like them one bit.

Luhan turned to her from looking at Hong Hui as he was again carrying him in his arms. “Neh?” He asked, her words not quite registering in his head. “Ahh~” He nodded when he finally understood. “Ummm…” He scratched the back of his head shyly. “How did you know about this?”

Hwa Young awkwardly looked from side to side. “Well… I think it’s not a secret since I overheard some couples already… so… yeah. Sorry.”

“Hahaha. No, no. It’s not your fault.” Luhan laughed it off. “Actually, I didn’t know what to write about it yet…so… want something to write on that wish list?”

Hwa Young was surprised by this question. “Who? Me?” She asked stupidly—pointing to herself. “It’s not my gift…” She reasoned out.

“Well… I think it is ours.” Luhan looked up in thought. “Since the once that will be put on the wish list would be for the both of us…like what we want to do.” He then looked at Hwa Young with a smile on his face after he finished the sentence.

Hwa Young smiled back instinctively seeing his smiling face but she couldn’t help but blush a little at his loveable image. Oh god. He is so adorable. “Okay then.” She agreed.

“Really?” Luhan asked not believing it. “We will both write on the wish list? Together?”

Together?! Hwa Young freaked out. She is too shy to say her wishes in front of him. “Okay…” She agreed with a couple of nods as she smiled back at him.

“That’s great!” Luhan beamed. “Will be looking forward to it~”

“Now.” The producer clapped his hands once. “For the baby hunt. Fifth place goes to: Chanyeol!” he announced animatedly.

The said name made a whooping sound in return, jumping up and down with the baby in his arms. Kyungmi was happy with this as well and joined him. “Now come here Chanyeol and get your prize.”
Chanyeol did as he was told, still carrying the baby, he stood in front of the producer who was now holding a new package.

“Nee, what do I get? What’s our prize?” The rapper asked excitedly in his deep and loud voice.

“The winners will get things for their babies.” The producer answered. “You can’t have them right now because we didn’t buy them yet.”

“EH?! Then what do we do?” Chanyeol freaked out.

“You will get this card instead. This card will be of use when you exchange the said card to something that resembles it when you go to the baby section in the mall in the near future.”

“Ohh~” Chanyeol nodded, baby Chin Ho extended his right arm out, trying to reach something that no one could see. Chanyeol just held the said arm to prevent Chin Ho from choking him because of his actions.

“Yeah. So this is your prize as the fifth placer, Chanyeol~” The producer said sweetly—handing him a card.

“Thank you~” Chanyeol said politely with a light bow. “Chin Ho~” He called the baby in his arms. “Say thank you to uncle~” He ordered the child who was gnawing his fist at the moment, getting a bit hungry for today’s event.

“Don’t you know that he can’t speak yet?” A girl from behind asked mockingly. “Even I know it.” She rolled her eyes exasperatedly.

“Stop it, Minjung-ah.” Someone murmured loud enough for the said girl to hear.

“Why would I? I mean, its common sense right? And this guy doesn’t know it.” Minjung reasoned out, not feeling guilty with anything that just happened, the offended giraffe was shocked enough that his eyes were wide with a big smile on his face as he watched two girls about to debate.

Suddenly, a cry was heard. Most of the people looked around as to where the cry came from and noticed that it was the one that Hwa Young was carrying.

“Hush now, baby Hong Hui. It’s okay. Don’t cry…” Hwa Young murmured as she rubbed her free hand on Hong Hui’s back.

And then, another cry was heard. It kept on and on as some of the kids cried as well, especially the younger ones. The influence of one baby crying could make a lot of difference. The crowd now became quite chaotic because of the crying babies.

Kyungsoo comforted his crying child frantically, worried why she was crying once again, and tried to make funny faces as much as he could. While his wife, Yoon Shik, hugged Mei Li and rubbed her back for comfort—letting go of the hug from time to time so she could wipe all the tears away as well as some snot that naturally came out of the child’s nose.

Ryuu looked at his surroundings and was quite taken aback with the fact that a couple of kids were crying and decided to follow them as well. He tried to cry exasperatedly, giggling from time to time, finding his actions funny in a way that his mom Eunmi was quite surprised that he suddenly cried very loud but no tears were coming out. His dad, Lay on the other hand, looked lost as first as to what was really going on.

Soo Ju felt sad as well and just covered her face with her appa Sehun’s chest as she reached out a hand to her mom’s direction—opening and closing her hand to catch her attention without her even looking if her mom noticed it. Yunmi did notice and obliged her daughter’s wish, blushing as she stepped closer to Sehun for Soo Ju to reach her. Once reached, Soo Ju did her best to gather her mom in for a hug, shocking the said mom quite a bit but adjusted nonetheless.

The filming staff couldn’t help but just stare at them, absently. They didn’t notice the director telling them to just stop filming for now and wait for the kids to calm down because he had a feeling that it would take a while for them to calm down.

One of the staff came to notify the families and told them to just make the kids stop crying so that they can film once again. With this, Luhan and Hwa Young took Hong Hui to a distant bench to calm him down, Kyungsoo and Yoon Shik scooted to the side to try and lessen the frantic cries of Mei Li, Lay was carrying Ryuu to a faraway place for him not to copy the other kids crying and Eunmi followed them from behind, while Sehun and Yunmi just stayed there with the silent child who just wanted to stay still, comfortable in her own position as it is.

Jae Sun pouted out of habit, staring at Mei Li’s crying face from afar. “What’s wrong?” He heard his appa Baekhyun ask as he crouched down to be level with the four year old kid.

Jae Sun looked at his dad for a bit until he decided to tell him. “She is crying.” He told him, pointing to Mei Li.

Baekhyun followed his kid’s pointer finger and nodded absently. “Do you want to comfort her?”

Jae Sun said nothing.

Baekhyun didn’t know what to do about this but got the impression that maybe Jae Sun wanted to help. “Come on.” He patted Jae Sun’s shoulder. “Let’s go to Mei Li.”

Jae Sun stared at him once again. “No.” He stubbornly denied, a slight blush crept on his face.

Baekhyun frowned. “What? Why? You were worried about her, right?”

He got no answer once again which made him a bit frustrated. Yuna chuckled at the scene in front of her. She couldn’t help but just watch Baekhyun and Jae Sun from the side lines every now and then.

She was still chuckling when she saw that Baekhyun now noticed her. He stood up and went to her direction. “I don’t understand him.” He confessed. “I thought he was worried about Kyungsoo’s child but he didn’t even want to go to them.” His brows furrowed once again but kept watching Jae Sun who was still standing there on his spot, secretly looking at Mei Li’s direction.

Yuna smiled when she noticed this but when she looked at Baekhyun as he confessed to her, she noticed that he didn’t see this at all. “Maybe he is just shy…” She murmured to Baekhyun, earning a surprised look from him.

“Why do you say that?” he asked curiously.

Yuna smirked. “Look at him. He is secretly eyeing Mei Li still.”

Baekhyun did as he was told and watched Jae Sun carefully. “Ahhh…” He nodded in confirmation. He then laughed randomly. “Wow, you are good. I was very close to him yet I didn’t notice it.” He pouted.

“You don’t need to feel bad about it.” Yuna said awkwardly.

Baekhyun still pouted but cheered up when something came to his mind. “Hey, why don’t we take a family picture together?” He asked excitedly.

“Wh-what?” Yuna asked, baffled at Baekhyun’s random proposal and her eyebrows furrowed when she remembered about the wish card. “Is this part of the wish card thing?”

Baekhyun was taken aback by her question. “Umm… No… actually…  I was hoping that you would say okay with it without the power of the wish card…”

Yuna fell silent. It took her a couple of minutes to murmur something. “Well… I guess it’s okay…”

“What? Really? You said yes?” Baekhyun asked.

Yuna stared at him weirdly. “What’s with you? I changed my mind. The answer is no.” She then faced away from him.

“What? No, no, no.” He chuckled a little. “You can’t do that. You already said yes.” He told her as his hands got a hold of both her arms as he maneuvered her to face him. “You already said yes.” He repeated once again as he held her sight.

Yuna didn’t say anything, her face indifferent.

Baekhyun pouted at her as he still looked into her eyes.

“Hey.” Jae Sun called out from below which caused both Baekhyun and Yuna to break the contact and look at the little kid watching the both of them from their center. “Why don’t you two get a room already?”

“Wh-what?” Baekhyun stuttered as he looked at Jae Sun incredulously. He looked at Yuna to see her surprised look as well and then he looked back at Jae Sun. “Jae Sun, it is not like that. You are not supposed to say those things.”

“Why?” Jae Sun asked. “I can say whatever I want…” He pouted.

“Jae Sun…” Baekhyun warned as he stared at him hard—trying to be stern as a father should.

“Appa…” Jae Sun copied—staring him with equal strength.

The father and son battled each other with stares and they didn’t notice that Yuna was already giggling softly until she couldn’t hold the laughter in anymore and it got longer and louder.

“What?” The father and son asked Yuna at the same time, surprisingly.

Yuna chuckled. “The both of you!” She answered. “Now I know where Jae Sun gets his stubbornness.”

“Where?” Baekhyun asked curiously.

Yuna laughed some more before she answered. “You.”

Jangmi adjusted herself to the weight of her daughter Emi—suddenly becoming heavier than she was as she had been carrying her earlier. She moved the slightest bit as she could but eventually bumping a little of her shoulder at Kris unintentionally. “Oh sorry.” She apologized discreetly and bowed a little.

“It’s okay.” Kris responded back and placed a hand on her shoulder. Kris stared at their daughter and murmured something. “She is asleep…”

Jangmi heard this and now knew why Emi got heavy so suddenly. “Really? That explains it then…”

“Explains what?” Kris asked.

“Umm…. She got a little heavier than usual…?” she answered—unsure if her sentence wasn’t something that could be misunderstood by Kris.

“Ah…” Kris nodded. “Do you want me to carry her then?”

“No, no, its fine.” She flatly refused his proposal, shy from him being the one to carry Emi.

Kris’ eyebrows furrowed. “Come on. Pass her to me. She is heavy. You shouldn’t be carrying heavy weights and I know that you are tired already.”

“Wh-what?” Jangmi asked baffled with Kris saying so many things in just a jiffy.

Kris didn’t wait for her to agree and already reached for Emi. He carefully transferred her in his arms as gently and easily as he could and sighed in relief when Emi didn’t budge awake. “She must be really tired.” He said to Jangmi, looking in her eyes.

Jangmi felt embarrassed and broke their eye contact. “Y-Yeah…” she agreed, looking down.

There was an awkward moment between the two of them and Jangmi tried to liven it up a little. She looked around to see if there was something that she can talk with Kris and remembered something. “I wonder if they are okay now…”

“Who?” Kris asked, a little surprised by the sudden sentence from Jangmi.

“The kids who were crying earlier.”

“Yeah…” Kris nodded absently.

“Haha, hyung for once you can’t do anything about this situation right?” A hand ruffled at Kris’ hair. Kris knew who the man was because there was only one guy who can reach his length.

“What are you talking about Chanyeol?” He muttered as he playfully glared at the other who just smiled widely at him as ever with a kid in one hand. “Hey, your kid must be hungry. Why don’t you feed him?”

“What? Why do you say that?” Chanyeol asked innocently—still looking at Kris rather than his child Chin Ho.

“He’s gnawing on his own fist, idiot.”

By this, Chanyeol finally looked at Chin Ho and true enough the baby was busy gnawing on his hand now full of saliva on it.

“Chin Ho~” He called the name of his child. “Are you hungwie?” He baby talked him—saying hungwie instead of hungry.

Chin Ho just shook his head not taking his fist from his mouth.

“Is that so…” Chanyeol wondered if the child was telling the truth. “So can you please take your fist out of your mouth? It’s now dirty and full of saliva…see?” He tried to softly pull away Chin Ho’s hand from his mouth and just pointed at the saliva on it when Chin Ho didn’t budge.

With this, Chin Ho finally removed his hand from his mouth but this time he offered it to Chanyeol by moving it to his direction. Chanyeol noticing this, laughed nervously as he tried to avoid Chin Ho’s hand full of saliva. “Kyungie~!!” He called out for help.

“Yes~” Kyungmi jumped into the scene.

“Where did you come from?” Kris asked as he was curious as to where she was in the first place before popping up so randomly in the scene.

Jangmi chuckled. “I figured that she would be like that.”

“Like what?” Kris asked once again, turning his head to Jangmi.

“Popping into scenes. She is a very lively kid. I don’t know where she gets the energy from considering that she’s about the same age as us. She still behaves like a kid sometimes.”

“If there is someone in EXO that has the energy of a kid the most, that would be Chanyeol.” Kris thought deeply.

“Agreed.” Jangmi nodded. “He is very lively, almost as lively as Kyungmi.”

“Hey~ why are you two talking about us like we are not here in front of you?” Chanyeol whined, repositioning Chin Ho to face Kris and Jangmi’s direction that now had a bib and a wiper which was on Chanyeol’s shoulder.

“Yeah~ That’s so cruel of you two.” Kyungmi whined as well and made a big pout.

A few seconds later, both Chanyeol and Kyungmi grinned as if on cue.

Kris couldn’t help but shake his head at the obvious similarities of the couple.

Hway Dyok looked around, not knowing what was happening at the moment with everyone so scattered all over the place.

“What do you want to do for now, Hway Dyok?” Yoonji asked her daughter as she stooped down to her child’s level.

“Mmmm….” Hway Dyok thought for a while.

“Noodles are not an option okay?” Yoonji teased.

Hway Dyok giggled. “Yes mommy~ Say…” She looked around the place. “I want to draw mommy~”

“Draw?” Yoonji repeated. “Hmmm… do you have that in your bag?”

“Yes~!” Hway Dyok answered excitedly.

“Okay~ I’ll go get your bag, okay? Stay with Xiumin-appa for a moment.”

“Okay umma~” Hway Dyok responded and watched Yoonji walk away until she was out of sight. She then looked at her Xiumin-appa. “Appa~”

“Hmmm?” Xiumin looked down and eventually stooped down to Hway Dyok’s height.

“What’s happening, appa?” Hway Dyok asked innocently with a bit of worry in her eyes.

Xiumin saw this and rubbed his hand on Hway Dyok’s back to comfort her even just a little bit. “The babies cried because of the commotion caused by a couple of ummas.”

“Why?” Hway Dyok tilted her head.

“One is too blunt for her own good.” He answered simply.

“What is blunt?”

Xiumin thought for a while. “It is being too honest…?”

“Is honest not good?”

Xiumin felt uncomfortable, not knowing what to do with this child. “Honest is good. But if one is too honest that it might her people’s feelings, it would be a little too much.”

“Ahhh…” Hway Dyok nodded absently. “Will everything be okay then?”

Xiumin was surprised by this question. “Do you understand appa?”

Hway Dyok nodded. “Why?”

“Nothing…” Xiumin shook his head. “You talk like you are already old enough.” He pinched his daughter’s cheek a little.

Yao Zu kept on staring at the little boy crying with his parents beside him trying to comfort him. He was the first one to cry earlier and no one knew the reason as to why he suddenly cried at the middle of the squabble of two mothers. He continued staring at that particular family and unconsciously squeezed the hand of his mother’s hand that he was holding the tiniest bit and then let go of it. “Mama…” He called out discreetly.

“What is it, dear?” Minjung asked, hearing her son’s voice.

“I’ll be going there…” Yao Zu pointed at the direction where the little boy was crying.

“You want to go there? Okay. Daddy and I will go with you.” She merrily chimed as she nudged a little of her elbow at the sleepy Kai’s ribs, successfully waking him up.

“Eh? What?” He asked as he tried to concentrate on the situation and not get sleepy.

“No…” Yao Zu shook his head a little. “Can I go alone?”

“Eh?” Minjung looked baffled and just stared at her child. “Well… okay…” she nodded a little.

“Thank you.” Yao Zu said and bowed down his head. After that, he half ran his way to the crying little boy’s direction.

As Yao Zu got nearer, he slowed down his pace until he was just walking to the little boy. When he reached his destination, the mom noticed him.

“Hello~” She greeted.

“Hi.” Yao Zu answered back. “What’s your name..?”

“I’m Hwa Young. This is my husband, Luhan and our baby Hong Hui.” She introduced as she pointed who was who.

Yao Zu nodded. “I’m Yao Zu and um… Auntie… why is he crying?”

Hwa Young pouted a little. “I honestly don’t know…”

Yao Zu looked at the father and saw him trying to catch the attention of Hong Hui who was still crying and then back at Hong Hui. Yao Zu couldn’t help but sigh a little. He extended one of his hands out to reach Hong Hui’s head and gently patted it.

A distant shout could be heard. “That’s my little Yao Zu~!” the girl squealed. “Kai-oppa! Look! Our son is so mature~”

“Eh? So mature at an early age?” another voice was heard.

Hong Hui stopped crying fervently and looked up to see who was patting his hand and saw Yao Zu in front of him.

“Uwah~” Luhan exclaimed. “Hong Hui, that’s great. You stopped crying…” Luhan said in a tone of pure relief. He wiped a sweat from his forehead—suddenly feeling tired from trying to make his little boy calm down.

Hwa Young smiled at Yao Zu. “Thank you, Yao Zu~” She thanked the little kid and patted him on the head as well for a job well done. “We didn’t know what he needed. Thank you very much.”

“I just tried comforting him…” Yao Zu explained as he blushed a little from Hwa Young’s pat.

“Well… because of that, Hong Hui stopped crying.” Luhan said as he was digging something from his pants. “Here. This is a thank you gift.” Luhan said as he got a couple of candies out from his pants.

“Thank you…” Yao Zu thanked as he slowly put his hands together to catch the candies given to him. He smiled a little as thanks for Luhan and made his way back to his mama and papa with a proud look on his face.

Soojin stared at her child, not knowing what to do with the situation. She and Chen were very awkward with each other, especially since Chun Hei kept on sticking beside her and no one else. Chen was starting to pout about the whole “sticking beside umma only” thing as well.

“Chun Hei~ Why don’t you go to appa as well?” Soojin cooed, gently grabbing Chun Hei’s arm that was around her leg to get her to move to Chen, but the little girl wouldn’t budge.

“No~” Chun Hei shyly replied, sticking closer to Soojin’s leg.

Chen sighed upon hearing that and Soojin didn’t miss it. She patted her husband’s shoulder, snapping him out of his pitiful musings.

“Why don’t you try and get her to come to you instead of just sighing and pouting over there? Maybe she’s just shy around you…” Soojin whispered to Chen.

“Will that really work?” Chen whispered back, a little worried but he took one last look at his baby girl sticking close to Soojin’s leg and his heart melted. Ugh~ She’s so cute though!

“…” Chun Hei hid behind Soojin’s leg when her and Chen’s eyes met.

Chen cleared his throat and bent down a little, “Chun Hei~ Do you want to go with appa and play over there a bit?” He said, smiling a winning idol smile.

Chun Hei meekly shook her head and stuck closer to Soojin. Soojin was beginning to wonder if she could still move or feel her leg for that matter with the way Soojin was holding onto it. Chen sighed pitifully when his own daughter rejected him.

“Uuu~ Wae~” Chen whined.

“Oh, I know!” Soojin clapped her hands, trying to change the disappointed and awkward atmosphere. She turned to Chun Hei, “How about we go have a walk? Or would you like to run instead? Want to have a race?”

Chun Hei looked up back at her mother – a response!

“That way, you can let go of umma’s leg and we can both have some fun!” Soojin continued now that Chun Hei was looking straight at her. Soojin turned to Chen to snap him out of his musings, “How about it, oppa?”

Chen perked up upon hearing ‘oppa’ and smiled brightly. “Sure! Let’s do it!”

Soojin turned back to face her child only to realize that she didn’t look like she wanted to have a race after all. Chun Hei pursed her lips and held onto Soojin’s leg more. Soojin’s plan at having her leg released and having her daughter and husband bond failed and it hadn’t even started.

“Umma~” Chun Hei mumbled and when Soojin bent down to hear her, she added, “They’re crying…” She pointed at the direction of the babies of the other couples, specifically at the area where Yao Zu was patting another baby’s hand.

“Oh, yeah…” Soojin nodded her head, looking back at the scene. “They are and Yao Zu is trying to calm them down.”

“Calm them down…” Chun Hei echoed softly.

Chen overheard the little conversation and had a of genius, “Oh! Did you want to help, Chun Hei?”

Chun Hei made a squeaky noise when Chen talked to her. He laughed weakly when she hid again but decided to push through; he scooted closer to Chun Hei’s side.

“Why don’t you come with appa and let’s help Yao Zu calm them down?” Chen suggested lightly.

Chun Hei looked back at him with glowing eyes. She nodded slowly and he felt as if he had accomplished the impossible. He was in heaven~!

Soojin smiled at the scene and took Chun Hei’s hand and Chen’s hand and started to walk to the crying babies’ area. “Then let’s go~!”

Min Hee sighed heavily. She looked around her and saw nothing interesting to do. Most of the babies were crying and there was nothing interesting to do to help with calming them down. She already saw Yao Zu and Chun Hei do that and to add to that, her Suho-appa and Eun Jae-umma were busy with the other people. She looked around desperately to try and find something fun to do and it finally caught her eye.

“Pole~!” She exclaimed and immediately ran to the pole’s direction.

When she got to the pole, she grinned widely as she knew what to do with the pole. Both of her hands reached for the pole and gripped it tightly as she pushed her way upwards.

Hiro stared from afar watching Min Hee climb her way to the pole. “Oooh~” he said in amusement as his eyes glittered. He then reached out both of his hands to it as if he really wanted to reach it even though he was very far away and that he was in Tao’s arms.

“What is it Hiro?” Sooyeon asked noticing this as she moved her head to Tao’s back to be face to face with Hiro.

Hiro pointed at the direction of the pole and whined a little when he found that they were so slow in getting what he meant.

Sooyeon followed where Hiro was pointing and saw a little girl trying to climb a pole.

“Oh god.” She muttered and made her way to the said child. “Little girl~!” She called out worriedly as she ran her way to the pole. “What are you doing? You might get hurt!”

Hiro watched his mom as she ran to the little girl and pouted at her. He wanted to go there too but she didn’t take him with her. He wailed recklessly in Tao’s arms.

“What is it, Hiro? What’s wrong?” Tao patted Hiro’s back.

“Mmm!!” he exclaimed desperately. Since he was still a baby and couldn’t talk, he tried desperately to make a point.

“Hmm?” Tao looked at the direction where Hiro pointed desperately. “Oh…” He muttered as he saw his wife trying to get a little girl down the pole. “Hey isn’t that Suho-hyung’s child?” He murmured in remembrance as he stared longer at the kid from far away, not minding or even feeling that Hiro still desperately tied to reach out to go to the pole.

“Suho-hyung!” Tao called out.

“Yes?” Suho asked looking at Tao’s direction.

“Where is your kid?” He asked, hoping that he was wrong thinking that the little kid climbing on a pole was his.

Suho looked down at his surroundings trying to find his little girl who he assumed was just staying by his side earlier.

“Eun Jae-shii…” Suho called out as calmly as he could—slightly worried where their daughter would’ve gone.

“Hmmm?” She looked at his direction with a questioning look.

“Is Min Hee with you?” He asked nervously.

“No…” Eun Jae answered immediately, slightly shocked that Suho would ask her that because they both knew that the little girl was just there beside Suho earlier.

Suho panicked this time. “Where is our daughter? Where did she go? Did she get lost?”

“Hyung!” Tao called out and immediately ran to Suho’s side. “Calm down first.”

“Calm down?” Suho repeated. “I can’t calm down… My child is missing!”

“I know… but I think that’s her over there…?” Tao pointed at the direction of the little girl trying to climb a pole earlier who was now successfully up midway of the pole.

Suho looked at the direction where Tao pointed along with Eun Jae who peeped her head from Suho’s back.

“Min Hee!” Suho and Eun Jae both exclaimed in unison.

“Min Hee~!” Suho called out from below of the pole. The pole was almost as high as a lamp post and the little girl was surely at the midway through her goal, the most top. “Come down now! That is dangerous!”

Min Hee looked back to see Suho and possibly other people that had caught what was happening. “Appa~! This is fun! Look! I’m nearly half way~!”

“Min Hee! No! Don’t go further up!” Suho fretted.

“This is not working…” Eun Jae muttered and stepped closer to the pole. “It’s better to get her down…” she muttered as she got ready to go up the pole herself.

“Eun Jae-shii!” Suho exclaimed. “You can’t! You might hurt yourself!”

“Tsk. Don’t underestimate me.” Eun Jae muttered as she started to climb up. No one should be able to stop me when it comes to my daughter in danger.

When Eun Jae got near to where Min Hee was, she gathered as much strength that she could muster. “Min Hee…”

Min Hee heard this and looked to the direction where her mother’s voice came from. “Umma~” She called back happily. “Wow! You’re so good umma. Isn’t this fun?”

Eun Jae hesitated at first. She wanted to nag at her daughter for worrying everyone so much, for doing a reckless thing like this, for doing something that could make her get hurt but she stopped herself. “Yes, Min Hee dear.” She smiled a little. “But we should go down now…”

“Why?” Min Hee asked innocently.

“People are worrying dear. They worry that you might get hurt.”

“Why?”

“Because…” Eun Jae started desperately. She was already tired and her hands were getting quite a bit red because of the force that she was giving to the pole to make her stay up there. “This is dangerous… what we are doing… when you loosen your grip on the pole… you will fall down and would really get hurt… now can we please go down? I will help you…”

“Ehh? But it’s no fun going down, umma.” Min Hee whined.

“Why? Trust me, it is fun. Just like riding a roller coaster.”

“Roller coaster?” Min Hee tilted her head from one side. “I haven’t ridden a roller coaster yet. What is it like?”

“You haven’t ridden a roller coaster yet? I will make you ride in a roller coaster soon if you go down with me.”

Min Hee weighed her options. “Mmmm…. Okay~” She agreed after a while of thinking.

Eun Jae sighed inwardly in relief. “Okay… good job. Come on… grab on to me.”

Min Hee did as she was told and Eun Jae looked at her seriously. “Now, I want you to loosen your grip a little… we are going to slide our way down okay?”

“A little?”

“Yes, a little, baby. Not entirely letting go of the pole, okay?”

“Yes, mommy~”

And so, Eun Jae and Min Hee slid their way down on the pole as they both got down safely to the ground.

Claps where heard from the area where the incident happened. Most of the staff were already there surrounding the area, noticing the danger that was about to happen.

“What happened?” D.O asked innocently to Tao. His wide eyes very evident as he carried his daughter to where everyone was at the moment.

“Suho’s daughter was climbing a pole earlier and just now his wife got their daughter down from it.” Tao explained simply as he played with his son’s hands to make them clap.

“Oh…” D.O can only nod.

Sooyeon looked around and saw Yoon Shik she make her way to her as the latter was heading to where everybody was as well. “How is your daughter?” She asked quite randomly but was just curious as to how they managed to make Mei Li stop crying this time.

Yoon Shik sighed a little. “The applause got her attention thankfully.” She answered, wiping some stray sweat around her forehead.

Sooyeon patted her shoulder as to comfort her even a little bit.

Yoon Shik just smiled a little at her as thanks. Suddenly, her eye caught the cameramen filming them actually. “When did they start filming us? I thought we are on a break…” She murmured to Sooyeon.

Sooyeon shrugged. “Beats me. I doubt that they even stopped filming.”

Yoon Shik stared at her. “Why do you say that?”

Sooyeon shrugged once again. “I don’t know… maybe because of the fact that everyone is so into the roles already that they just couldn’t miss filming us.”

“Definitely!” A cheerful voice agreed. Sooyeon and Yoon Shik didn’t mistake the person to be someone else.

“Kyungmi.” Sooyeon said simply.

“How long have you been there, listening to our conversation?” Yoon Shik asked.

“Long enough~” Kyung Mi answered simply. “Everyone likes their own families. Right?”

The two girls just nodded.

The camera focused on a little curious boy as he continued to move his head nearer to the camera lens until he was pulled away from it.

“Hiro, don’t get too near at the camera.” Tao scolded a little.

“Eh…” Hiro tilted his head, looking at Tao’s eyes.

Tao just smiled at him and moved both of his eyebrows upwards in a funny manner. “Oh… by the way…” He stopped when he suddenly remembered something. He then looked at the camera nearest to him. “When did you start filming us?”

“Yeah.” Came another voice. “We were surprised as well to see that they have been filming us all along as we were busy making the kids stop crying.”

“Luhan-hyung!” Tao recognized the voice from somewhere and looked at the direction where the said voice came from.

“Yep?” Luhan asked as he finally reached in front of Tao.

“Where is your kid?”

“He is with Hwa Young.”

“Where is she then?”

“Why?”

“I don’t know… shouldn’t you be with them?”

Luhan snickered. “I don’t see you with your wife.”

With this, Tao looked everywhere in his surroundings and true enough, Sooyeon was not anywhere near.

“Besides.” Luhan cut him off from Tao’s search. “We don’t need to be always together. That’s just abnormally insane… don’t you think?”

Tao nodded silently.

Luhan just stared at his nod for a moment when an idea popped into his head. “Why? Do you like your wife that much that you want to stay with her?” He grinned mischievously as both of his eyebrows were busy going up and down.

Tao blushed red. “What? Are you kidding me? We just met, Hyung!”

“I was kidding…” Luhan’s face turned serious.

“Oh…” Tao couldn’t answer anything back.

“But based on your reaction earlier…” Luhan grinned widely once again. “I say you are taken…”

“Who is taken…?” Kris asked as he suddenly popped up from the scene, his arms carrying his baby Emi like it was nothing to him.

“Him.” Luhan immediately answered pointing to Tao.

“Really?” Kris looked at Tao. “With who?”

“No one~!” Tao countered.

“With his wife~” Luhan countered back.

“No! I am not!” Tao whined.

“What’s going on?” Suho asked as his attention was caught with the duo that were squabbling over something.

“Tao is in love, it seems.” Kris murmured, answering Suho’s question.

“Hyung!” Tao called out and half glared and half pouted at Kris. “Not you too…”

“What?” Kris looked like he did nothing wrong. “It is true, isn’t it?”

“Nooo~” Tao whined.

“Oooo~ our little panda finally caught a liking to a girl~” Lay chimed, popping in to the scene as most of the other EXO members were now gathering bit by bit in a circle to tease their little panda.

“Since when were you a gossipmonger, Lay?” Xiumin asked.

“I don’t know… maybe I’ll make it a habit for our Tao here.” Lay winked at Tao as he smiled, showing his dimple accent.

“Wae~!?” Tao could only whine from inside the crowd of EXO men.

“Hey, hey…” Minjung fanned her hand at Eun Mi curious as to what and why the EXO guys gathered up in one group bit by bit. “What’s happening over there?”

Eun Mi shrugged in response. “Beats me.” Of all people that would talk to her, it was someone that thought highly of herself.

“You’re not curious?” Minjung studied Eun Mi closely.

“Not at all.”

“Hm.” Minjung stepped away from her. “Boring~” she then walked away as if nothing happened.

Eun Mi was insulted by this and was about to confront Minjung when an arm wrapped around her neck loosely.

“Hey…” Came the familiar voice that Eun Mi knew so well.

“Hey yourself.” She muttered. She couldn’t get out of the hold from Lay but didn’t even try to.

“You still mad at me?” Lay asked in a whisper near her ear.

Eun Mi smirked. “I’m surprised you even remember.”

“Come on…”

“Where’s Ryuu?”

“Over here.” Lay moved his other arm to indicate that he was carrying Ryuu with his other arm.

“Everyone~!” The producer shouted from the megaphone. “Can we please gather again now to continue where we left off?”

“Hear that?” Eun Mi asked, moving her head a little to the side. “It’s time to go. Let go of me.”

Lay pouted but did as he was told.

Eun Mi, now freed just walked straight while Lay stared at her back until he saw that Eun Mi turned back to face him. “I was never mad at you.” She smirked and showed her tongue at Lay. “Come here, Ryuu~” Eun Mi hurried back as she got Ryuu from the dazzled Lay.

“Okay! Let’s rush this so that we can all get out of here.” The producer started. “4th place! Kris! 3rd place! Kai! 2nd! Xiumin! And the 1st is Luhan!”

Everyone looked lost for a moment as the producer yapped away the rest of the winners. But they had no other choice but to play along with him and his suddenly impatient mood.

Prizes were given respectively to the winners as they received a card each.

“This is good. Now that this is over, the lot of you should go to your new home! Rest, unpack, or make lists of the things you would need. It will be a long day again tomorrow.” The producer announced rapidly. “This is my stop. Goodbye everyone~!” He waved his hand as he left the park as if nothing was wrong with it.

The producer left so fast that he didn’t even give time for everyone to react. People were more or less dazed, surprised at what the producer had just done.

“Ahh…. What just happened…?”Kai broke the silence with the awkward question.

“I don’t know…” Baekhyun shook his head. “I guess he was in a hurry…?”

“Yeah…. Most likely.” Eun Mi agreed.

“Welp! He said that we should go to our new home… so why don’t we go just there?” Chen suggested.

“Right.” Lay agreed as he nodded for further emphasis followed by a bunch of nods from the others as well.

“So… is this goodbye…?” Kai raised one of his eyebrows, confused as to what they should do for surely they now have each of their own families.

“Wait… do we really get our own houses…?” Luhan asked. “That would be so cool…” His eyes glittered.

“Hahaha…” Hwa Young laughed awkwardly. “Actually…”

“I wonder what my house would look like…” Tao wondered loudly. “I hope there would be a practice room…”

“I don’t think the agency would be kind enough to give us each twelve houses.” Yuna snickered.

“She has a point…” Kris pointed out a matter of factly.

“Eh?” Kai whined. “But if it’s going to be one house… it’s gonna get crowded.”

“…” Kris said nothing at first. “He has a point too.”

Some of the guys and girls facepalmed themselves.

“Hey hey…” Suho sweatdropped. “Why don’t we just go to the house like what the producer said…”

“Good idea.” Eun Mi said as she started walking while she grabbed Lay by the arm. “Why don’t we start already and not waste our time then?”

“Hey~” Minjung called out. “We don’t want to be the last, don’t we… Kai-oppa?” Minjung said as she grabbed Kai and Yao Zu as she ran ahead of Eun Mi.

Eun Mi stopped on her tracks, feeling tidbits of her temper slowly rising up. Lay studied her and sighed a little. “Well… isn’t she…” he started, trying to lighten the mood. “Over active…?” these two words came out of his mouth, the only thing that he can describe Minjung that would not be too hurtful for the other party. He then looked at Eun Mi who was still looking down.

Eun Mi’s mouth formed a smile little by little and finally looked up and turned her head to look at Lay. “Thanks.”

“Let’s get going~” Kyungmi cheered as she did a fist pump by herself. Chanyeol, who was standing right beside her with their baby, chuckled in response.

Eun Mi chuckled as well. “Yes. Yes.”

The two vans from before were waiting for them outside of the park. Now, the families had to figure out a way to squeeze everyone in the vans to head back to the house.

“I guess we should just split the families, right? The children could sit on either the umma’s or the appa’s lap.” Suho suggested as the families gathered right outside the vans.

“Right. Well, my family will take this van.” Minjung grabbed Yao Zu’s hand and Kai’s arm, waking up the latter once again.

“Oh, we’re the first one to get in?” Kai said, slightly in a daze.

“That’s right!” Minjung cheered and got in with her family before the rest could complain about it.

“Well, that’s one family in one van.” Kris sighed, eyebrows lifting up nonchalantly. “So how do we divide this huge group?”

“Rock, paper, scissors?!” Chanyeol piped up suddenly, standing right beside Kris that Kris glared back at him.

“All right then, that settles it.” Chen snickered and presented a fist to the group. “So the dads will fight for a spot in a van, right?”

“Oho~ I like where this is going.” Baekhyun wiggled his eyebrows, passing his baby to Yuna. “I’ll definitely get us a good place!”

“Ah… sure?” Yuna raised an eyebrow at the sudden rivalry the EXO guys were having against each other.

“What?” Kris looked mocked and sighed with a little smirk on his face. “That’s it…” He turned to look at Jangmi. “Here, hold Emi for me while I show these guys who they’re dealing with.”

“Er… all right.” Emi laughed nervously as she took the sleeping Emi in her arms. “Um… Fighting…?”

“Hey, hey, hey… why is there a sudden air of competition here?” Suho raised his hands to calm the group down but everyone was feeling the heat. Suho sighed, deciding to just play along. “Well, all right then. Let’s just get this over with so we can get out of here too.”

“Go! Chanyeol-oppa! Go!” Kyungmi cheered in the sidelines, Chin Ho in her arms now that Chanyeol had passed him to her to be able to play rock, paper and scissors. “Win us a good spot in the van!”

“You bet!” Chanyeol threw his fist up in the air and Chin Ho, who had his hand in his mouth again mimicked his appa and threw it up in the air too – saliva and all on it.

“Don’t you lose, Luhan-oppa!” Hwa Young cheered playfully as well. “If you do, then the wish card is all mine!”

“What?!” Luhan turned around saw Hwa Young playfully waving Hong Hui’s hand back at him. “That’s it! It’s all or nothing!”

“I swear, I’m not going to lose as well…” Lay murmured to himself.

“That is, if you remember the rules of this game, hyung.” Chen teased and Lay nearly stepped on his foot in retort.

“I’ll show you guys for your teasing earlier.” Tao grumbled as well, right beside Chen. “I’ll win this for sure!”

Sooyeon could only giggle at where this whole thing was going. Suddenly, all of the EXO guys were burning up with a desire to win and get their families a good spot in the two vans.

“Er… do we really have to do it like this?” D.O. sighed nervously, suddenly pushed to be a part of the circle. “Isn’t this circle a bit too big for rock, paper, scissors?”

“Looks like we’re going to have preliminary rounds or something…” Xiumin muttered under his breath.

“This is going to take a while.” Sehun sighed.

“Ah! Let’s just do this now before the sun sets!” Suho whined.

And so, the guys played for the families to finally leave the park. After the games, each family got in their respective vans and at last, left the scene to head to their big, big house. Who won and where each couple landed on in what bus, you will find out soon in the next episode~! But for now, it’s going to be another long day for the families ahead~!
