Episode 11

❝ We Got Babies! ❞

It’s the 13th day of February and the EXO guys had just left the house to hold a special event for their fans, understandably. After bidding goodbye to their husbands, the girls then moved to the playroom to drop their children off, leaving one unlucky producer to handle the chaos inside. The reason as to why they did so was to be explained by none other than Yoonji.

“Girls,” She calls their attention and some of the girls turn their heads except for a few... like MInjung and Eunmi. The former being too busy checking on her precious Yaozu while the latter too busy spacing out. But eventually, all the girls have their attention to Yoonji and she continues, “Do you know what day it is tomorrow?”

“No!” Came Kyungmi’s immediate response as she raised her hand around the same time Minjung fervently said, “Of course, I do.”

Yoonji raises her eyebrows in shock and sighs, “Well, tomorrow is Valentine’s Day.” And some of the girls make sounds of surprise while some widen their eyes.

, I forgot. Sooyeon thought while keeping a straight face on as she was surrounded by a flurry of ideas and suggestions coming from all corners of the group. One was suggesting a cake tower, the other was suggesting buying each EXO member a plushie, but there was really no consensus among the girls... until...

“Okay!” Minjung screeched, vying for control of the group. “Let’s just make them chocolates! Okay? Okay.” She said, without really waiting for anybody’s agreements.

“Okay!” Kyungmi, Yunmi and Jangmi cheer altogether before skipping off to the kitchen ahead.

“Well, if we’re going to be cooking, is anybody going to... uh... teach?” Hwayoung asked softly, making her way with the rest of the girls to the kitchen. Instantly, there was a hush in the room as some of the girls turned their heads and looked at each other. Clearly, not everyone was a cook.

Seeing the situation, Hwayoung asked. “Who knows how to cook?”

Certain hands were raised form Eunmi, Eunjae, Soojin, Jangmi, Yoonji.

“Sooyeon and Yoonshik can cook too!” Yunmi couldn’t help but blurt out her thought when she noticed the two said people didn’t raise their hands.

Everyone looked at each other and Yuna noticed Minjung’s hand was raised as well. Her brow raised in suspicion and aksed. “Minjung can cook?” She asked no one in particular as people wondered if Minjung really knows how to cook.

No one answered but the one mentioned herself. “Of course!” She exclaimed confidently. When people still stared at her, she began to avert her eyes in guilt. “Well...” She paused as she tried to find the words. “I want to learn to...”

“Finally, an honest answer from her.” She murmured lowly.

Moving on, Yoonji beamed. “Okay! Sooyeon, Yoonshik, Jangmi, Soojin, Eunjae, Eunmi and I will teach those who don’t know to cook chocolates.”

There was a general cheer in the room once a plan had been finally made. The girls put on some aprons and began preparing the ingredients. The girls who weren’t so confident in baking would make some Chocolate Truffles instead, but there were some girls who wanted to try making other desserts like Chocolate bars or cupcakes.

“So, we have the dark chocolate, unsalted butter...” Eunjae began enumerating the ingredients the girls needed for the truffles when a little squeal interrupted her concentration. At once, the ‘cooks’ turned around on their heels and gasped.

“Sorry...” Kyungmi apologized with a weak smile as she was covered in coffee powder, the bag of said coffee powder choking in her hands.

“How on earth did this happen?” Jangmi approached the woody brown Kyungmi who was coughing out coffee while laughing. Jangmi already had a towel in hand and was helping the coffee-coated Kyungmi clean herself up.

“I was going to pour 1/3 cup of the powder in but then—“

“She got too excited and crushed the bag instead.” Hwayoung finished, wiping some coffee off Kyungmi’s hair too.

Kyungmi only giggled in response. “I’m sure there’s still some left... right?” She asked, more hopeful in the end. Jangmi turned to Eunjae as if to silently ask if there was still another coffee bag left. Thankfully, there was and there was a huge sigh of relief in the room.

“All right, moving on...” Eunjae shook her head, adjusting herself. She turned to Kyungmi, “Maybe you should just sit out the preparations for a bit, Kyungmi.”

“Okay.” Kyungmi said, wiping some coffee off her glasses. “I’ll just go stand over there then.” She said, skipping to the side of the room.

After all the preparations had been made (safely), the teachers had gathered the students around the counter. Yoonji cleared and started the instructions, “Okay. So first we play some of these chocolates into the bowl and then into the blender.”

“Can we use other things besides the chocolates?” Minjung voiced out all of a sudden that Yoonji looked flabbergasted for a moment, but she was able to recover.

“Like what?” She asked.

Minjung shrugged, tilting her head in thought. “Like... candies?”

“...” Sooyeon glanced at Minjung as if she was an alien. “Why would you put candies in the blender?” She asked softly, but Minjung was sharp and heard her so when she turned her attention to Sooyeon; the wallflower was quite taken aback by the sudden attention.

“I was just asking.” Minjung said before turning her attention back to the teachers. “Well?”

“Um, yeah, I don’t think it’ll be a good idea to do that.” Eunmi said, scratching the back of her neck. “It might taste weird.”

“But if it’s just chocolate—“

“It’s going to be covered with coffee so it won’t just be chocolate, though.” Soojin added and smiled more to herself when Minjung nodded, suddenly coming to a full understanding of the situation.

“All right,” Yoonji carried on, “Now that we have these in the blender, we’re going to melt the coffee over medium heat until it’s hot, but not completely simmering.”

Or we can just microwave these in a cup for 30 seconds.” Eunmi added, earning her a look from Yoonji. “Just another option, you know?”

“I prefer the microwave better than the stove actually.” Hwayoung said, placing some of her coffee in a cup.

“I prefer anything!” Kyungmi stated, putting two cups some coffee.

“Whoa, whoa, whoa.” Jangmi ogled at the group. “Hold on guys, who’s putting what into where?”

“I want to put mine in the microwave. I don’t trust that stove.” Hwayoung gave a half-glare at the innocent stove. “Besides, it’s safer and easier to use the microwave.”

“Yeah, I’d prefer the microwave too.” Yuna said.

“I don’t care!” Kyungmi cheered, bobbing up and down with her two cups of coffee. Beside her, Yunmi was doing the same.

“Same here.”

“All right, then Hwayoung and Yuna can use the microwave, the others can use the stove.” Jangmi sighed, trying to get control of the situation. “Oh, once everything’s finished we’re going to power that over the chocolate in the blender and we’re going to mix them.”

Once the coffee finished heating, the girls then began mixing their chocolates together until it turned into a smooth consistency. Things were going well, until some of the girls began to play around with the chocolate.

“Check it out,” Yunmi pointed out, lifting her wooden spoon up leaving a trail of molten, gooey chocolate behind. Yuna giggled, proceeding to do the same and almost instantly, a few messes were being made over the counter.

Sooyeon stared at the two in silence, not really knowing how to tell them to stop but they kind of have to before the others start bickering over their mess. She cleared and earned their attention. “Uh...” She said, “I think you guys should go back to mixing now.”

“Aw,” Yunmi pouted, “It’s just a little mess, don’t sweat it out, Sooyeon.”

Whatever you say. Sooyeon thought as she shrugged. Then, Minjung suddenly screamed that everyone in the room hushed.

“What happened?” Jangmi asked.

“Where’s my bowl?!” Minjung gasped, looking around the counter for her bowl which was nowhere to be found. “You guys!”

“Why are you looking at me for?” Yoonji gasped when Minjung stared at her. “Are you sure you didn’t misplace it somewhere?”

“Why would I misplace a chocolate bowl?” Minjung corrected in a matter-of-fact voice. She turned around and stared at Kyungmi. “Give it back Kyungmi.”

Kyungmi blinked and pushed up her glasses with her nose, scrunching it up. “I don’t have your bowl.”

“Then, Hwayoung?” MInjung turned around and Hwayoung shook her head, putting her hands up in surrender.

“I don’t have it either. Minjung, I think you really did misplace it somewhere.”

“I didn’t misplace it!” MInjung stomped her foot on the floor, sort of getting angry at the girls.

“Tsk.” Yuna clicked her tongue in annoyance on how Minjung was behaving.

Minjung, as edgy as she is at the moment, heard Yuna and got irritated at her as well. “What did I just hear?” She confronted the girl, walking her way to face her.

“What?” Yuna asked, not knowing what she did that made Minjung’s rage turn to her.

“Did you just click your tongue at me?”

“Well I did, but I don’t think you have to be angry about it.” Yuna said before anybody else could intervene. Suddenly, there was tension in the air and nobody needed to be a genius to figure out where this was going... and it wasn’t going to anywhere good at all.

Yoonshik raised both hands at the girls, trying to be their mediator. “Hold on a minute, girls. Calm down—“

“But she clicked her tongue at me!” Minjung insisted that justice be done. She turned to Yuna who looked completely floored at her reaction.

“You know, I don’t think anybody has ever said this before but you’re really acting like a spoiled child now.” Yuna said, crossing her arms defensively. Minjung turned pink at the statement, mostly out of irritation.

Minjung was about to open to bite back when something which sounded like a small gasp cut in. Everyone turned to the direction of the new problem and found Yunmi ogling at her bowl – nothing seemed to be out of place, except for the small detail which was...

“Yunmi,” Eunmi said, staring down at her bowl. “Why is there another bowl inside your bowl?”

Yunmi grinned nervously, eyeing everyone in the room and another kind of tension was upon them. “It’s the rest of my sugar.” She said. “I, uh, thought it wasn’t sweet enough so I thought of adding some more but then—“

“You dropped the bowl instead.” Hwayoung once more finished the rest of the statement before anyone else could.

It was actually perfect timing, for Yoonshik at least, because now the two tense girls had forgotten about their fight and was too engrossed at the sudden mess at the other end of the counter. Yoonshik breathed in deeply and let out a sigh, “Well, I think we can still save that, Yunmi.”

“Maybe...” Yunmi looked down at the bowl inside her bowl. “... But maybe oppa will like it nonetheless.” She said with a suggestive shrug in the end. Everyone chuckled, relaxing a bit.

“Oh!” Kyungmi exclaimed all of a sudden and the relaxing atmosphere was gone in an instant.

“What is it this time?” Minjung turned to Kyungmi who had open in amazement. “You didn’t tear open another coffee bag, did you?”

“No.” Kyungmi gave a light pout before pointing to a small stool at the corner of the kitchen. “Isn’t that your bowl, MInjung?”

Minjung turned around and at last, was reunited with her long lost chocolate bowl. She was quick to drop everything, heading for the bowl and Yuna chuckled victoriously behind her. Minjung turned around, hugging her bowl. “Just so you know,” She said, pride in her voice though her cheeks were turning pink. “I didn’t misplace it.”

Yeah right. Was everyone’s general thought.

Finally, everyone somehow got their chocolates set and it was now time for the shaping of the chocolate truffles. They were each to shape them like small balls and then they were going to cover them with coffee powder and design them freely. Everything was going well, until Sooyeon noticed Hwayoung not doing anything but staring at her truffles blankly.

“Hwayoung, what’s wrong?” Sooyeon asked, not really noticing anything wrong with what she was doing – because she wasn’t doing anything anyway.

“I...” Hwayoung gave a light blush, “I don’t know how to decorate these...”

Sooyeon blankly stared at her and then at her blank truffles, “Well, maybe you can just do some simple shapes or swirls... or just write L for Luhan...?” She suggested, hoping it would cheer Hwayoung up enough to get her to start decorating.

“Yeah... I guess...” Hwayoung held up some of the icing. “Maybe I can just follow...?”

“Sure.” Sooyeon turned to the girl beside Hwayoung, “Kyungmi is—“ Never mind. She thought before she could finish saying, seeing as Kyungmi wasn’t even decorating truffle-shaped chocolates. Her chocolates were in different shapes, some of them resembling animals at some point... like giraffes. Sooyeon wondered how she was able to pull that off but she then turned to Hwayoung who was staring at the group of animal-shaped chocolates, sort of losing hope in her eyes.

“You don’t have to do that.” Sooyeon leaned closer to whisper. “Just do whatever comes to mind. I’m sure Luhan-oppa will like it either way.”

At the sound of that idea, Hwayoung blushed quickly as she cleared . “I-I guess.” She said before attempting to design her truffles. “Thanks, Sooyeon-unnie.”

“Sure.” She smiled, making sure to help Hwayoung out as much as she can. Meanwhile, the girl beside Hwayoung was having a little trouble on her own but she wasn’t about to admit that, of course. Yuna had somehow added too much coffee to her truffles but the realization came a little too late that the coffee had already stuck to her chocolates, making it difficult to remove.

Well, Baekhyun’s just got to have to deal with a little bitterness. Yuna thought as she carried on decorating her truffles.

Beside her, Yunmi and her 10 times sweeter chocolate truffles were now being sprinkled with some candied things (as if it wasn’t already sweet enough). Of course, nobody could stop her now seeing as she completely in the zone.

Lastly, Minjung was making sure her truffles were the prettiest of the bunch and they would’ve been had they been mixed better, because there were obvious lumps on her truffles that were a little hard to ignore. Some of the teachers were finding it hard to control their laughter, but they had to seeing as no one wanted a repeat of that tension experienced earlier.

Finally, the girls had completed their chocolates and were now arranging them in their gift boxes. Kyungmi was having trouble seeing as her giraffe chocolate couldn’t fit in the box.

“The neck’s going to break!” Kyungmi cried out as if the whole world was in a dire situation.

“Why’d you even bother with a giraffe?” Eunmi asked, raising an eyebrow and Kyungmi looked to her as if she was from another planet.

“Because it’s Chanyeol!”

EXO was dead tired by the time they arrived back home from their Valentine’s Day event with their fans, but it was all good, seeing all their happy faces. The guys got down from their respective vans, all cheering and wishing to just get to their own beds to relax and have a much needed break—

When the door opened, there was a loud cheer, “Happy Valentine’s Day!” Came the girls’ greetings and all the guys nearly dropped to the floor.

“Whoa!” Chanyeol cheered, staring at the little banner prettily decorated with the words ‘Happy Valentine’s’ in girly cursive and the girls sitting on the couches under it. They had changed into decent dresses or matching blouses and skirts.

“Wow,” Suho beamed, “You girls did a great job.”

The girls looked to each other, smiling as each of them started walking to their husbands and gave them their chocolates.

“Thank you, Yoebo~!” Suho beamed as he reached to hug Eun Jae in one arm and receiving the box of chocolates with the other. “Did you make this yourself?”

Eun Jae giggled at how Suho called her as she answered with confidence. “Of course. Would you mind tasting it for me?”

Suho’s eyes sparkled, thinking about the hand-made chocolate that was given to him. He immediately opened the box and threw the truffle in his mouth. “Mmmm!!!” He mumbled in shock and amazement, wanting to express himself with words but couldn’t for his mouth was full, he clapped instead and hugged Eun Jae again, tighter this time. “You’re amazing.”

“Is it good?”

“It’s perfect.”

“What’s that, Mimi?” Lay asked Eunmi when she reached him.

Eunmi did a little pout hearing that childish nickname but answered nonetheless. “Chocolate truffle of course.”

“Omo! You can cook?” he asked, his eyes wide but there was a hint of mischief with his actions.

“It’s not much of a cooking.” Eunmi poked Lay on his side to tickle him a bit. “I do bake, remember?”

“Oh right right...” He nodded. “You made this by yourself?”

Eunmi’s face crunched up and pouted again. “You know what? Nevermind. This is mine.” She started to pull the box of chocolate from Lay when she suddenly got pulled into an embrace with Lay chuckling lightly.

“I’m just teasing you, baobei.”

Eunmi bit her lip absently. “I know.” She murmured.

“Thank you for the chocolates.” Lay kissed the side of her head endearingly as Eunmi smiled at the sweet gesture.

She hugged Lay back this time and said, “Happy Valentine’s Day~” she chimed.

“Chen oppa~!” Soojin sweetly called her husband, jogging her way to him. Once she reached him, she hurriedly handed him the box of chocolate to him as she excitedly told him to open it quickly.

“Wae?” Chen chuckled but complied to his wife’s wishes. “What’s the rush?”

“Tell me what you think of what I made.” Soojin grinned. “Each ball of chocolate has different flavours.”

“Oh?” Chen absently asked as he admired his wife’s work for it looked like perfection.

“Yeah!” She nodded and started to enumerate some stuffs. “There is mango, strawberry, grapes, apple, wasabi, pineapple...”

Chen started nodding his head at the first few fruits when his wife enumerated them but his eyes widened when he started hearing weird combinations. His eyes widened, gravely imagining how a pineapple compliment with a chocolate. “Wait...” Chen shook his head and cut Soojin off.

“Hm?”

“You said you put wasabi in here?” He verified if he heard it right, wishing he was mistaken.

“Yeap.” Soojin innocently confirmed it.

Chen’s brows furrowed in confusion. “Why wasabi?”

“Why not wasabi?” She countered. When Chen had no answer for it, she urged. “Come on! It’s going to be fun! Start eating.”

Chen gulped in fear that he might get sick from what his wife had made. He looked at her eager eyes and couldn’t help but finding himself getting one of the chocolate truffles as he slowly took a small bite.

He chewed on it slowly, cautious with how they taste would go but found that it was actually pretty good. He didn’t taste any weird stuff inside and dared to put the rest of it into his mouth and realized two things. One, the chocolate was very delicious and two, there was no such fruit or wasabi inside.

“Well....?” Soojin asked Chen.

Chen stared up, trying to form his words for he was quite surprised by what Soojin has done to him. He wanted to troll her but decided against it after all.

Chen rubbed Soojin’s head and said. “They were very good.” He hooked his arm around her neck and both of them walked absently away from the room.

Minjung proudly walked over to the grinning Kai who greeted her with a playful bow, “Princess.”

It actually made her blush a little but she was quick to recover and she presented her husband with the box of chocolates. “Happy Valentine’s Day, oppa.” She smiled her sweet smile directed only for him. Kai was ecstatic seeing the box and took it happily.

“Did you bake these yourself?” He asked as he opened and blinked a couple of times upon seeing the lumpy bunch.

“I did.” Minjung said proudly, not noticing the slightly stunned look of her husband.

Did you bake these yourself?” Kai echoed.

“I did.” Minjung repeated, blinking. “Why?”

“Oh... n-nothing.” Kai said, raising one with slightly bigger bumps than the rest. Kai wasn’t exactly a baker but he’s pretty sure truffles weren’t supposed to look like this. He glanced around the room for  comparison and noted the differences in shape between the other guys’ chocolates and his. “Wow...”

“Do you like it?” Minjung asked, tilting her head playfully, already expecting a barrage of compliments to come down her way.

Kai swiftly turned back his attention to his wife and then to the chocolate in his hand. Well, I have no choice right? He thought as he took a bite. Immediately, he was quick to note the strange texture in his mouth. There was chocolate all right, but there were also lumps of coffee that were a little hard to ignore. “Mm...”

“Well?” Minjung asked, her eyes shimmering with excitement.

Kai swallowed (hard) and stared at his expecting ‘wife’. How could you say no to that face? He smiled, “It’s good, Princess. Thank you.”

Minjung blushed and smiled to herself, feeling victorious. “I knew you’d like it.” She kissed Kai on the cheek as the other in return, feel blessed by his wife’s kiss that eating the chocolate was all worth it.

“Kyungmi!” Chanyeol rushed his way to the said girl who was being careful carrying a box.

“Channie~!” Kyungmi absently replied in the same enthusiasm out of habit even though her focus was on the one that she’s holding.

When Chanyeol reached her, he noticed that the box she was holding wasn’t properly closed. In fact, a part of it is showing something that looked like a head of an animal. “What is that?”

“I made this for you! Happy Valentine’s Day, Channie!” She lifted the lid herself and inside the box was a chocolate that was shaped in the form of a giraffe.

“OMO!!!” He exclaimed, quite taken aback by what Kyungmi has made. “It’s a giraffe!”

“Yeah!”

“It’s so beautiful!”

“Take a bite, Channie.”

“Whaaaat?” Chanyeol asked exasperated by the thought of having to it a giraffe that was molded perfectly. “I can’t eat, Kyung Miiii!”

Kyung Mi’s eyes widened. “Why nooot???” She more or less whined.

“I can’t eat something this beautiful.”

“But you have to eat it.”

The couple went on and on about eating and not eating the chocolate that they weren’t aware that their voices had been so loud. Thankfully, no one complained for they were quite used to the noisy couple.

“Happy Valentine’s Day, Luhan...” Hwayoung greeted Luhan shyly, handing him the box of chocolate as the other took it gratefully. Hwayoung started to fidget, nervous on how Luhan would take her chocolates and then started talking. “I’m sorry, It might not look very good because I at designing...I tried my best though... I am also not good at making them but Eun Jae and the others had been really helpful and thought me how to make them.

Luhan blinked at the sudden flurry of words coming from his ‘wife’s’ mouth. It wasn’t like her at all so it was a pleasant surprise for him, to hear her talk so much. He couldn’t suppress a soft chuckle escaping his lips. “It’s all right, don’t worry, Hwayoung.”

“But—“

“I think you did your best and I really appreciate that.” Luhan smiled a princely smile that Hwayoung’s heart stopped for a moment.

“O-Oh.” She blushed but then Sooyeon’s words earlier rang back in her ears, which pretty much happened. She couldn’t hold back a smile forming on her lips. “Well, I hope you like it.”

Luhan opened the box and saw the truffles decorated richly with icing. “I don’t understand what’s so wrong with them, I think they’re fine.”

“... I think I put too much icing.” Hwayoung whimpered.

“Well,” Luhan smiled. “I think one can’t have a little too much.” He said with a wink.

Hwayoung blushed, fiddling with her fingers. “Well, then... don’t say I didn’t warn you, oppa.”

Luhan laughed softly as he picked one up and took a bite. Hwayoung waited patiently for a response and it felt as if her whole world was ready to crash with the sun by doing so. When Luhan finished with one truffle, a small smile coursed through his lips. “Hwayoung,”

“Huh?” Hwayoung gasped at the sudden name-calling and before she could completely close , a small truffle popped in . “Hm?!”

Luhan eye-smiled at her, “I think we can both agree that it’s delicious, right?”

Hwayoung blushed as she chewed at the chocolate truffle fed to her by Luhan. She nodded slowly before a small giggle escaped her. “Yeah. Thanks, oppa.”

“Sehun.” Yunmi called the other to have his attention on her.

“Hm?” Sehun turned his head to look at Yunmi.

Yunmi blushed a little as she handed him the box of chocolates. “This is for you.”

Sehun’s mouth formed an ‘o’ and took off the lid. The truffles were designed with hearts and Yunmi blushed even more when she realized Sehun staring at them for quite some time.

“Can I eat it?” Sehun asked.

“O-of course.”

Sehun got one truffle and popped the whole thing inside his mouth. He was quite surprised by the taste of the chocolate that he choked.

“Oh my god!” Yunmi couldn’t help but exclaim. “Are you alright? Wait I’ll get you a glass of water.” She then ran off to get one.

Sehun was still coughing when Yunmi reached him. She hurriedly handed him the water as he drank it, she rubbed Sehun’s back, trying to comfort him in some way.

“Ahhh... thank you.” Sehun said as he finished the whole glass of water.

“Are you okay now?” Yunmi asked, still worried.

“Yeah...” Sehun nodded as he cleared his throat.

“H-how w-was it...?” Yunmi stammered, not able to look at him in the eyes.

Sehun didn’t answer immediately as he thought over his answer. “It was delicious.”

Yunmi met his eyes. “...really?” She asked, not quite sure if she heard him right.

“Yeah...” Sehun smiled and cleared his throat again. “It was just a little sweet though...” Yunmi looked down hearing that part. That bowl of sugar must’ve made it really sweet. She thought.

“But... I am very thankful for the chocolates.” Sehun continued as he slowly went closer to Yunmi. Yunmi’s eyes widened but she couldn’t dare to step back. Sehun’s gaze was too mesmerizing that she forgot what to do. “Thank you, Yunnie.” Sehun said and and kissed the cheek of Yunmi.

Yunmi gasped in surprise and covered after realizing what she did. She blushed tomato red and Sehun just laughed and he guided Yunmi somewhere.

“Oppa.” Yoonji smiled widely as Xiumin returned the gesture to her as well.

“Hello, Yoonji-ah.” He greeted. “How was your day?”

“It was fun!” She replied. “How about yours?”

“It was as well. Just a little hungry again.”

“Did you eat something?”

“Yeah, a little on the way home.” Xiumin noticed the box she was holding. “Is that for me?”

“Oh. Yeah. Happy Valentine’s Day, oppa!” she greeted while handing him the present.

“Thank you.” He gladly took the box. “Can I eat it now?”

“Of course!”

Xiumin popped the truffle inside his mouth, showing not much of a reaction. Yoonji looked at him for any signs if what he thought about it but there was none and heard none. Xiumin just kept on eating the truffle when Yoonji asked, “How did I do?”

Xiumin met eyes with her. “You still haven’t tasted this?”

Yoonji slowly shook her head.

Xiumin got one truffle and put it near . Yoonji blushed but opened wide for her to consume the chocolate.

“Mmmm...”  Yoonji nodded, proud that she did well with her chocolate.

“Now you know.” Xiumin smiled. “These are perfect.”

Yoonji smiled and hugged Xiumin. “Thank you.”

“Yunie~” Baekhyun called his wife when he couldn’t find her anywhere because of the crowded room. He was excited to eat the chocolates that his wife has made exclusively for him and was willing to wait until she comes to him but he couldn’t wait that long.

“What?”

Yuna suddenly popped out of nowhere as she stood straight and her hands hidden on her back.

Baekhyun grinned, knowing that his chocolates are there on her back but asked anyway. “Where are my chocolates?”

“What chocolates?”

Baekhyun wiggled his eyebrows and pointed at her back.

Yuna clicked her tongue. “I won’t give you one today. Maybe next time.”

“What?” Baekhyun whined. “Why?”

Yuna didn’t reply, her cheeks were a little red as Baekhyun noticed and thought. “You know, it can’t be that bad. I’m sure the chocolates you made are delicious.”

“I don’t think so...” Yuna denied.

“Come on...” Baekhyun walked closer as Yuna in return kept on stepping back and finally they reached the dead end. “I’ve been waiting for it all day.”

Yuna bit her lip. She felt warm when Baekhyun said that he was anticipating it for a while now...

“Please...?” Baekhyun put his hands together and made a cute pout combined with big adorable puppy dog eyes.

“Ugh.” Yuna groaned and finally gave in. She handed the box of chocolates to Baekhyun.

“Thank you, yeobo~” Baekhyun hurriedly opened the box and took a bite from the truffle. Immediately, his face scrunched from the bitter taste of the coffee. There was a hint of chocolate but it was mostly coffee he tasted. Bitter...

Yuna frowned, seeing Baekhyun’s face but smirked after. “I told you so.”

“Happy Valentine’s Day, Kyungsoo!” Yoonshik chimed, smiling widely.

Kyungsoo smiled and hugged his wife as thanks. “You look tired though... Are you okay?”

“Yeah. I was a little bit tired earlier but I’m okay now. I had fun teaching the girls how to make their own chocolates.” Yoonshik hugged back.

“Aigoo... you must be tired.”

“Not anymore.” Yoonshik broke from the hug and smiled at Kyungsoo assuring him that she was alright. “Come, let’s sit somewhere.”

“Okay.” D.O agreed as he hooked his arm around his wife and kissed her by her ear.

“Jjang-ah.” Kris called, his rare smile showing when he saw his wife approaching him.

“Oppa!” Jangmi beamed and hugged Kris immediately once they reached each other. She was the first one to break the hug as she was to give him a present. “Oppa, here... I hope you like it. I made this for you.”

Kris opened the box and couldn’t help but be amazed by his wife’s work. “Oooh. They look like they were made by a pro.” Kris observed and got himself a truffle and ate it.

Jangmi waited anticipating for what he can say about it. Not that she was insecure by her work. But she always love it when Kris praises her.

“This chocolate is like you...”

Jangmi tilted her head in wonder. So many thoughts had come to her mind as to why.

“You are “jjang” and this chocolate is also “jjang”.” He explained complete with thumbs up.

Jangmi laughed and hugged him again. “Thank you, oppa.”

Tao looked over the crowd, noticing that everyone has found their couple but him. Trying to find his wife, he tried to get out of the crowded part of the room. Once he got out of the crowd, he sensed someone looking at him. He turned his head only to see his wife leaning on a wall looking at him. Overjoyed, he ran his way to her and stopped right in front of her.

“Hello.” Sooyeon greeted slyly. If he wasn’t used to her by now, he wouldn’t hear her.

Tao smiled and leaned on the wall as well when suddenly, a box of chocolate was given to him. “Is this for me?”

It took a while for Sooyeon to reply but he got a nod from her after a while.

Tao opened the box and saw the finely made chocolate truffles. “Did you make these?”

“Of course.”

“They look so delicious.” He gaped at the chocolates in front of him. “Thank you, Sooyeon.” He turned to his wife to give her the biggest smile.

Sooyeon turned her head to look at him and Tao was given a very beautiful smile from her as well.

Tao’s eyes widened and once the smile faded he stammered. “W-wait. Could you do that again?”

Sooyeon blushed and started to walk away hurriedly.

After the gift-giving, everyone sort of scattered throughout the house. A few hours later though, there was an emergency meeting to the living room demanded by two of the guys. The next thing the huge group discovers is a panic-stricken Luhan and Kris entering the living room together, both simultaneously demanding help.

“Help me with Emi’s birthday party!”

“Help me with Hwayoung’s birthday party!”

The group, minus the two birthday celebrants, who were timely absent in the gathering stared at the two Chinese men standing in the middle of the room.

“Wait, what?” Chen barked out all of a sudden. “It’s also their birthdays today?”

“That’s what we’re trying to say.” Luhan said, sort of feeling the pressure because not only is today kind of special, but it became twice as special since it was his ‘wife’s’ birthday. Now he’s wondering what he’s going to do to top off the sweet chocolates she gave him earlier.

“Now we’re all going to plan a party for them.” Kris demanded, raising an eyebrow at the group. His wife suddenly smiled at him that he blinked back in surprise, “What?”

“You don’t have to worry so much, oppa.” Jangmi stood up from her seat and patted his shoulder. “I thought it was something so serious.”

“Uh, this is kind of serious.” Kris said, a little desperate too.

“And Luhan,” Yoonshik voiced out, calling his attention. “I’m sure that you’re going to give Hwayoung a good birthday gift too.”

“The thing is, I don’t really know what to give her.” Luhan blushed shyly. “What... What do you girls thing? You seem to know her a lot better than I do—“

“Oh, I doubt that.” Eunmi wiggled her brows and chuckled, seeing his reddened expression.

“Well...” Luhan hummed, “She did say she likes mint a lot... and lilacs.”

“Mint chocolate and flowers! Classic gifts!” Baekhyun clapped his hands together. “I say if you don’t know what to give her, just give her the classics. They’d work, right?” He suddenly turned to Yuna, who wasn’t expecting the attention all of a sudden.

“What? What are you looking at me for?” She blushed as Baekhyun chuckled at her reactions.

“Mint chocolate... Flowers...” Luhan went into deep contemplation all of a sudden, leaving Kris to worry on his own.

“So what do you give a baby?” Kris sighed, worried expression written all of his face. “I seriously have no ideas, guys.”

“Don’t leave your wife out of this, man.” Chen eyed Jangmi by his side and Kris was quick to react, reassuring her that he meant nothing of it. Jangmi giggled.

“I get it.” She smiled, “We can always make something for her. Well, we might want to leave the sweets since she’s not a fan of them.”

“Right...” Kris nodded, suddenly having his memory tested. “No sweets, something personal... Nothing’s really coming into mind, Jangmi.”

The girls giggled at his reactions. Kyungmi raised a hand to suggest something, “Babies love cute things! You can try giving her stuffed toys?”

Stuffed toys... Kris looked as if the world had finally aligned itself in the solar system. Jangmi could only smile at her husband’s pure heart for their ‘child’. She turned to the rest, “Well, since we have some ideas, why don’t we get to work?”

The rest of the group gathered around and planned for a little surprise party to celebrate Hwayoung’s and Emi’s birthdays. Half of the group were going to prepare a little buffet of snacks (of course, said group were made up of those who can cook), the other half were in charge of decorating the place. Kris and Jangmi had left to look for some stuffed toys and some ingredients to make Emi something special for her to eat. Jangmi was thinking of a homemade lunch box with some cutely shaped things to resemble candies, since Emi can’t handle candies, she thought she’d make do with things disguised as candies. Kris was going to look for the plushies and maybe some clothes too.

Luhan had also left the house to look for some mint chocolates and he was able to find a box shaped like a heart (considering it is Valentine’s Day) and was off to look for a bouquet of lilacs. He was able to find one with a combination of purple and white.

Jangmi and Kris arrived back first and the former was quick to start with the homemade lunch box for her baby. Kris went to the bedroom to fix the wrapping and the gifts – a small pink teddy bear and some colourful, patterned clothes for Emi to wear. This was a first for him so he was a little embarrassed to have gone inside the baby store by himself, but he was feeling really proud of himself now. Once he got everything ready, he left the room to help his ‘wife’.

Jangmi was so engrossed with cutting the carrots to look like little suns that she didn’t realize Kris approaching her from behind. Then, there was a small back hug from behind. She flinched and turned around to see the tall male of her dreams smiling down at her.

“Thanks for earlier.” He said and Jangmi was at a loss for words. “I mean, you helped me calm down. I tend to go a little crazy when I start planning for things like this, you know? Normally the guys help me out, but they kind of left me on my own considering this was for my baby... so...”

Jangmi chuckled and placed the knife down. She turned around in her husband’s arms and smiled at him, blushing a little. “I think you were doing your best and I liked that a lot. I’m sure Emi will really enjoy this. I’m sure she’ll also know that you did your best for her.”

Kris tilted her his head a little, a little proud look on his face. “You really know what you’re doing, huh? It’s like home turf for you.”

“Well...” Jangmi hummed, proud of herself too. “I did babysit a few times.”

Kris smiled down at her and gave her a brief hug before releasing her to finish the lunch box, trying his best to help out and not cause too much trouble.

When everything was ready, the rest of the group went to pick up the celebrants. Kyungmi barraged herself with Chanyeol in tow to pick up Hwayoung, who was resting in her bedroom.

“Kyungmi, what—“ She gasped as suddenly, two hands – Kyungmi’s and Chanyeol’s – had taken each of hers. “Where are you guys taking me?”

“That’s a surprise!” They both said together and then laughed at the same time.

Eunmi was in charge of getting Emi from the playroom. When she did, some of the kids were left behind there began to follow her, sensing that something big was happening. So some of the other members helped her get the kids into the living room too.

When Hwayoung and Emi were both in the room, the lights were dimmed down it was a little difficult to see – then, it gradually lightened up (in respect to Emi’s sensitivities to flashes of light) and Hwayoung gasped as a huge banner with ‘Happy Birthday’ in colourful patterns greeted them both.

“Y-You guys—“ Hwayoung covered as she blushed uncontrollably and even more so when she sees Luhan pop up from behind the group with a bouquet in his hands. She shyly took the bouquet and sees the box of mint chocolates resting against the flowers. “Oh... they’re beautiful, Luhan-oppa.”

“I’m glad you like them.” Luhan scratched the back of his neck shyly before adding softly, leaning forwards to whisper by Hwayoung’s ear. “The lilacs have special meanings by the way.”

“Meanings?” Hwayoung echoed, feeling her ears go hot with how close Luhan was to her but she managed to control herself – after all, everyone was looking at them and she wasn’t just about to go fangirl mode on them like this. She cleared and looked at the flowers in hand. “What do you mean?”

Luhan smiled knowingly at her, “It’s a secret.” He winked and when Hwayoung unknowingly pouted at him, he chuckled once more. “But I guess I can give you a few ideas... when we’re alone.”

“Oh...” Hwayoung blushed tenfold and hugged the flowers towards her more. “Well, I guess I can be a little bit more patient.”

Eunmi giggled at the two and their interactions, totally engrossed in their own world. She turned to the baby in her arms. “How about Emi’s gift?” She asked, turning to her parents. Kris reached out and took the silent baby in his arms, pressing a soft kiss by her chubby cheeks.

“I hope you like them, Emi.” He said slowly and softly before pressing another kiss to her nose. “Happy Birthday.” He said in slightly rough Japanese and Emi flinched, eyes widening at him. Kris smiled at the reaction. Just then, Emi reached out and patted Kris’s cheeks lightly. Jangmi’s heart swelled at the reaction before she poked at Emi’s belly, earning her attention. She showed the plushie and clothes Kris had picked out and Emi’s eyes gave a little shine.

“She loves them!” Kyungmi cheered, fixing her glasses. “So cute!”

Kris’s expression seemed to only brighten up further as Emi fiddled with the pink teddy bear further, turning it over and over in her hands. When she kept it close to her chest, Kris could no longer control himself and did the same to Emi herself.

Jangmi laughed before she extended her arms, signalling Kris to pass their daughter to her. She led Emi to a table and presented her home made lunch to her with lots of colourful ingredients and cut out foods – it looked like it’d be a waste to eat. Emi made a little noise and began clapping her hands while babbling. Everyone laughed at her cute reactions and rendered the little gift-giving a complete success.

“Everyone!” Yoonji cheered, “Let’s get to eating!”

“I agree!” Kyungmi jumped up and down and hopped on over to the two celebrants, kissing them both on their cheeks. “Happy Birthday, you two!”

“Happy Birthday!” Chanyeol cheered, patting Hwayoung on the head and rubbing Emi’s belly.

“I hope you both enjoy today.” Eunmi cheered, hugging Hwayoung and giving a light kiss on Emi’s cheek.

Everyone gave their own greetings, hugs and kisses, wishing both more blessings and a happy day. Hwayoung and Emi then walked behind the counter where a tray of cupcakes designed to have a continuous sentence greeting them a happy birthday was displayed. Hwayoung and Emi both blew at the cake together, though Emi more or less just stared at the thing. The room was filled with laughter and chatter, with everyone stuffing their faces with food.

Today was definitely a huge success for everyone.
