Explanation
Coffee Stains and Princes
Boy, Changmin escapes real quick or I’m just really slow…
I looked around the camp and couldn’t find him.
“Changmin, where are you?” I sighed, looking left and right. He was nowhere to be found.
So I just turned around and headed back to the cottage.
As I was about to take a step into the patio, I saw a familiar woman standing beside a big man wearing a suit. Both were slightly covered by the last cottage.
Where have I seen her before?
Letting my curiosity guide me, I crept near them.
“What do you mean you’re not doing it?!” I heard a strained voice say.
“I’m just not going to do it anymore.”
The voice that replied definitely belonged to Changmin.
“You better bring me that girl or I am going to disown you!” the strained female voice rose.
“So? You’re not even my real mother.”
SLAP.
I placed my hand over my mouth. Were they talking about me?
“You bring me Shin MuWon’s daughter or I will tell your father-“
I took a step forward, to get a better look at them.
Changmin was standing in front of the lady and her bodyguard, his cheek red from the contact with the lady’s hand.
“Eomonim, I think Changminnie has feelings for this girl.” Another voice added. It was a voice I resent a lot and it belonged to no other than Miyoung.
A sarcastic laugh left Changmin’s mother’s mouth as Miyoung stood beside her.
“You’re getting romantic with that girl? You think she’s going to like you when she finds out that you’re not even the prince she envisioned you as? Have you told her that you don’t even like Caramel Macchiato? That you stay at their tasteless café just to lure her in? Changmin-ah. Grow up, I bet she wouldn’t even give you a second look if she found out that you lied to her.” She spoke.
I felt my chest tighten.
He said he never lied. I believe him. How can this woman call herself his mother?
If I could just-
I took a step forward but I felt a hand pull my shoulder back.
I looked up at him and saw my dad looking down at me.
“What are you doing here?” I asked.
He patted my head and pointed to the people I was observing, “Jaejoong called. This woman used to bother your sister. I can’t believe she’ll go after you too.”
“You know her?”
“Know her? I used to date her… she never got over it.”
“What?”
“She’s still mad coz I was the only boyfriend she had who never begged her to comeback. Now she’s trying to get even.”
“I don’t belie-“
“Chief told me you got in trouble with Shim’s son?”
“Uhm tha-“
Before I could explain, dad stepped up and revealed himself to the people talking.
“Muwon? What are you doing here?” Changmin’s mom stuttered.
Changmin looked up at my dad then to me.
I softly smiled at him and he bowed his head.
The adults continued to talk.
I watched my dad casually talking to Mrs. Shim who was staring at him like a lion to a deer. Is this woman really married?
Faculty members began to head over to where we are and what was supposed to be the highlight of my relationship with Changmin turned into some kind of reunion.
So… I walked towards the crowd to look for Changmin but he wasn’t there anymore.
This boy has me chasing him all over the place today, seriously!
I sat under a tree and leaned on its trunk.
It has been crazy and everything just zoomed into what-just-happened.
I let out a sigh and thought, maybe we took it too fast… maybe this is all too much.
“Hey…”
I looked up and saw Changmin walking up to me, his hands in his pockets, his eyes still on the ground.
As soon as he was in arms reach, I pulled him down to sit beside me.
“Don’t explain.” I immediately muttered.
He looked at me and tucked my hair behind my ear, “I-“
“I said don’t explain. Don’t talk. I know.”
He gave a chuckle and leaned on the tree.
“I meant what I told you. I never lied to you.”
I pinched his cheek and grinned, “I said don’t explain anymore, let’s just forget what happened.”
“You’ll probably choose Jaejoong-hyung over me now-“
“That’s silly even Jae knows I’d still choose you.”
I stare at Changmin as his eyes mismatched at his laugh.
One chapter left :)
