Patterned Souls
Description
Our world is different. Most people live for a much longer time than in any other worlds, we pretty much just stop aging at some point. But we are not free to do as we wish (well at least to some point). The moment we are born, we are 'branded'. Our souls have a pattern, a pattern that tells us who our soul mate is. You can see the soul's pattern on one's neck, shoulder, back or even arms. Some females have them on their ankles.
So pretty much, these patterns only match one. That one is our soul mate. If we are older than our mates more than by a few years we stop aging the moment our soul mate is born. Of course, we don't know where they are, or who they are, but we know that they are here finally. We are not whole until we finally unite with our soul mate. The Soul Patterns are like our souls. Broken. Our Soul Mate has the other half. The moment we finally meet, our Soul Patterns glow, and change. This means that they are finally 'whole'. Just like us.
But.. nothing is as easy as it seems. Of course, the moment you meet your mate, you fall in love, but there aren't only 'mated' people out here. Some people had lost their soul mates (in sickness, or accident) and they have turned crazy. At first, their only desire is to die. But as they loose their sanity, slowly they start to forget about their mate, and think that they haven't found them yet. In this state, they are extremely dangerous, because they see their own pattern instead of some other on many people. So they become obsessed with them, they might even convince them that they are their mates, and keep them until they finally notice that they are not meant to be together. At that moment, they snap.
Foreword
AN: I really didn't want to write another story, but.. The truth is that I have been in love with the 'soul mate' topic for a long time. I always wanted to write a fanfiction based on it. And I know that the basic idea isn't too original but it has been eating me. I can't write anything else, cause it's on my mind. So yes, I will try to make the fanfic as great as I can, because I really.. like the idea.

Kim Jonghyun
An eighteen year old student. He hadn't stopped aging yet, but he somehow knows that his mate is already alive. He had been traveling around the would when he had the chance (in holidays only though) so he could find them, but he didn't have any luck yet. His parents had told him to settle down for a while, and just wait. Of course, he is really eager to finally meet his mate, but he is scared as well. He doesn't really know what he would do when they finally meet. He is a really sweet guy, with a talent in singing.
Kim Kibum (Key)
Jonghyun's soul mate. He is 17 years old, and a very unique person. To strangers, he can be really rude and a bit scary. In reality, he is a very fragile person, both physically and mentally. After having a fight with someone, he just breaks down. His friends know that he is really caring and kind, if he has anything, he shares it with his friends. He doesn't really care about searching for his 'mate' he know that they will meet soon anyway. He likes cooking and dancing, but only a few people know these about him. He can be really secretive, even with his friends.
