About a week has passed since her little argument with Byunghun and Jin Ae had almost completely forgotten about it. The two just kept to themselves during homeroom, just ignoring the other’s presence during those times. As for the other classes, they at least weren’t sitting anywhere near each other and Jin Ae sat with her friends while Byunghun remained in the back of the class with his own group. It was now Math class and Jin Ae was about to go into Mika’s group for a group exercise when she felt her hand being tugged.

“Come work with me Jin Ae!” Chanhee looked at her with eager eyes and a big smile. She couldn’t help but to smile back at him and she nodded.

“Who else is in your group?” She questioned and he led her to the back of the class and motioned for her to sit down and nodded at two people. One had curly brown hair, full lips and big almond eyes. And then she laid her eyes on the other boy and instantly frowned.

“This is Ahn Daniel – he’s actually a year younger than us but he was put up a class for math.” Chanhee nodded his head towards the curly haired boy.

“Annyeong noona!” He beamed up at her, his thick lips curving up into a grin. He was absolutely adorable in her eyes and she had to resist the urge to pinch his cheek.

“Hi Daniel-ah!” She gave a small wave and Chanhee then jabbed his thumb in the direction of the other boy who seemed to look very stiff in his seat.

“That’s Lee Byunghun.” Jin Ae didn’t say anything but just nodded and didn’t look at him. Chanhee was slightly confused and raised an eyebrow.

“Why is she here, Chanhee?” Jin Ae heard him whisper none too softly. Her hand instantly clutched at her skirt as she glared at him.

“Oh shut up Byunghun, that’s rude.” Chanhee retorted and Jin Ae couldn’t help but to grin a little as Byunghun just closed his mouth and rolled his eyes.

The period passed by, Jin Ae eventually learning to ignore Byunghun despite their being in the same group. Daniel, to her amazement, really was a genius as she had already figured out the problem sets they were given. But he showed a bit of a more a mature side when he explained to them how he did it. Of course, he would sometimes say something like “Aigoo, that’s not right!” which would cause Chanhee to slap his forehead whilst Jin Ae laughed. Byunghun remained quiet throughout, occasionally giving his input or asking Daniel a question, but also never acknowledging Jin Ae.

Chanhee was able to pick up the obvious tension between the two but he decided to ignore it. Instead, he decided to play somewhat of a mediator role between the two so that they didn’t have to talk directly to each other. Daniel was rather oblivious and so there were some instances when he would address the awkward air between Byunghun and Jin Ae, in which Chanhee would quickly answer in their place, saving them the trouble.

The bell had rung and it was time for lunch.

“Hey Jin Ae, you want to go to the café after school? We could talk about the race.” Chanhee joked and Jin Ae smiled and lightly pushed him.
