Song Jieun continued looking to the two men in front of her. All that was happening in front of her looked like a movie scene. If she told this to someone no one would believe her and she was started to doubt herself. Why would these two men even go to this extent? It was for her? “No, of course not…don’t be stupid…” she whispered to herself, hoping that the two men hadn’t heard a single thing. It would be rather embarrassing if they did. But right now it wasn’t the moment to think that! Right now, she had to pay attention to what was happening in that moment! Nothing else!

She looked to the men and saw the older of the two grabbing the other man’s hands and putting it behind his back. “Let’s play fair shall we Woohyun?” The amber haired man asked as he continued to grab Nam Woohyun’s hands. “You come here and scare poor Jieun. Now that’s no proper gentleman’s behavior.” The way Kim Sunggyu was acting was something different from what she was used to see. He was acting so composed, so calm that it looked like nothing was happening. He was acting like he was having a normal conversation with a colleague from work.  “If you keep that, you’ll scare her and she will never want to see you.” It was like his words hit Nam Woohyun right away.

He stopped moving and looked down to his feet, like he was ashamed of what he did before to Song Jieun. “Now, calm down and behave like a gentleman.” She saw the man shiver under Kim Sunggyu’s touch. The raven haired man moved his head slightly to the side but kept his eyes on the floor. “…Gentleman?” he asked but it was more than visible that he didn’t want an answer. It was nothing but a rhetorical question and all they had to do was stand there wait for Nam Woohyun to keep talking. “A gentleman like you, I presume?” Song Jieun could see the small smirk appearing the shorter man’s lips and something told her he was about to explode. That the smirk was nothing but a mask to hide what he was actually feeling at that exact moment.

“How could I forget? Kim Sunggyu is a gentleman. Perfect. He does nothing wrong and would never do anything to anyone…especially to Song Jieun…” He made a pause and raised his head. He looked to the woman in front of him and she could see his hurt eyes. But beyond the hurt, she could see anger building up inside him, like Nam Woohyun was ready to kill someone but he didn’t know what to do. “You would never hurt right? You would never act like me. You would never act like a jackass. You would never drink glass after glass of alcohol to gather some courage to talk to her. You would never force yourself to her so she could hear your pathetic words. You….You…”

Song Jieun opened her eyes widely not believing what she was seeing. Was…was Nam Woohyun actually crying? Was he actually crying in front of her in the most hopeless, defenseless way possible? And why, why did Kim Sunggyu look like the bad guy when he was actually trying to protect her? It made no sense, and yet it was how it was. “You would never allow yourself go down to my level. You would never allow yourself to lie to her…to lie about your true self. You would never allow yourself to let her to believe in something you worked so hard to make. You would never allow her to believe you’re this sensitive…caring man when in reality…you’re a drunken jackass who is living a miserable life and ruined career…”

Kim Sunggyu and Song Jieun could see the tears running down Nam Woohyun’s face and either of them knew what to do. They weren’t used to see the other man like this. To be honest, they never thought Nam Woohyun could be like this. “…A man who will never be nothing but trash…because he ruined his own career…a man who will never accomplish anything in his life and a man…a man who will never confess his love…because he’s nothing but a coward.” Seriously, what was happening? Who was this man? He couldn’t be Nam Woohyun. Nam Woohyun wasn’t like this. He was a care free spirit, who cared about nothing and just wanted to play his piano and be left alone. He wasn’t this self-pitying man who couldn’t even look people in the eyes.

“…You’re right Sunggyu…you were always right about me…” He started and Kim Sunggyu looked right to his face, not being able to hide the confusion in his face. This was not what he was expecting when he stopped Nam Woohyun from doing something to Song Jieun. But now, even thought he couldn’t stand the man because of their troubled past, he couldn’t help but feel horrible and think that he should just let Nam Woohyun leave before things got worse. Seriously, he was feeling like and he just wanted to go back in time and stop himself from saying the things he did that made Nam Woohyun cry so much.

He let go of Nam Woohyun’s hands. He knew the younger man was in no conditions to hurt Song Jieun or anyone else for that matter. “I’m sorry…I’m sorry I scared you Jieun….” She looked to him and wasn’t sure what to say. She probably should say something, it was probably the best thing to do, but the words wouldn’t come out. Maybe it was because Kim Sunggyu was there staring at her with piercing eyes. Or maybe it was because Nam Woohyun looked like a hopeless man who had no place to go. But at the same time, it could be the alcohol speaking. Maybe everything she was hearing wasn’t something the man felt and in the morning he would wake up with a simple hangover. Nothing else.

“I’ll leave…” He started as he cleaned his tears with his shaky hands. “I’ll leave and I’ll never comeback. I’ll leave you all alone…both of you.” He said between gasps as he tried to calm down. “I’ll…I’ll never comeback to this house…I’ll never come looking for you Sunggyu…” He looked one last time to Song Jieun and she couldn’t help but feel really surprised.  The way the man was looking at her made her uncomfortable; it made her scared…like he was going to do something incredibly stupid. Like in the end, she would be the one who would end up crying. And honestly, she wasn’t sure if she had more tears inside her. She was emotionally drained with this whole Nam Woohyun thing.

“…And I’ll leave the dance company…I’ll stop playing. Even if that means I’ll never see you again.” it caught them both by surprise. That was not what they were expecting to hear. Sure, Nam Woohyun was known for being overly dramatic, but they still couldn’t believe that he was actually saying like that. “You’ll never see me again. I’ll never bother you again…I’ll never hurt you again.”

Kim Sunggyu looked to the man in front of him and then to Song Jieun. He could see she had no idea how to react, what to say. Why did it hurt? Why did it hurt so much? He knew that she wasn’t his, she never said she was. But god damn it, he didn’t expect his chest to hurt so much to the point he couldn’t breathe anymore. He knew that she was confused and that she didn’t even know if she actually loved one of them. But the look in her eyes when she heard Nam Woohyun say those words was too much for him to take. She looked like someone had stole from her one of the most important things in her life. All he could think about that moment was, would she react the same way if it was him who said those things? If it was him looking pathetic and looking completely crushed?

“…W…Where are you going?” Song Jieun managed to ask. Kim Sunggyu felt like leaving, but if he did, it was like he was giving up. So no. he was going to stay no matter what happened. He was going to stay there and then console her in his arms. He was going to hold her and he was going to make her forget all about Nam Woohyun. He knew he could do it. He did it for weeks, why wouldn’t he do it for a life time? “…I don’t know….But I’m going…far, far away…from you.”
