Whom to Fall“Kai, I’m busy.”
“Doing what?”
“Nothing.”
“IU, did you know that I always do that?”
“So?”
“It’s a rare talent to do nothing. And I think we’re just the only two people in this world who are lucky enough to have such a gift.”
“Kai, are you sure you are talking to the right person?”
“Huh? Of course. Are there any people in this world who are worthy enough to hear my beautiful voice at this time?”
“I’m really having a bad day,” she told him then sigh. “What do you want now, Kai?”
“Nothing.”
Jieun moved her cell phone to the other side of her ear while running through her notes. She decided to visit the library so that she can finish her project in advance. “What do you want now, Kai?” she repeated.
“IU, do you really think that every time I call, I always need something from you?”
“And have you forgotten that I don’t want you to call me anymore?”
“Do you really want me to die longing for you?”
“Yes.”
“IU, you’re breaking my heart.”
“Did you know, Kai, if ever you’re in front of me, it’s not only your heart that’s going to break.”
“Oh yeah. I forgot. You’re into judo.”
“Tae Kwon Do,” she corrected. She became irritated all of a sudden. “Don’t call me again if you can’t remember even the simplest things about me.” She didn’t wait for him to answer back by turning her cell phone off. “You’re a jerk Kai. You can’t even remember my favorite flower.”
Well, she’s not even hoping for him to remember such petty things about her. But, in their 10 years of friendship, not even once, he remembered anything about her. He always fails every time he’ll say or do anything for her. But not her – she knows everything about him. Whether she likes it or not, she feels she knows him more than his parents knew him – which is not a good thing.
Wait, not a good thing? Why is it not a good thing?
Is it because…. she once liked him? Not! It never crossed her mind that
