Chapter 13
Whom to Fall“You’re too busy on your studies, Jieun. I know it’s a good thing, but you don’t need to prove anything to us. You are pretty and smart and we are aware that you want to grab the top honors, but just slow down. Let loose, go out and have fun.”
She just nodded. That’s one thing Jieun likes when she’s at her parents’ house. Her dad’s there to constantly remind her to take things slowly and her mom always showers her with praises.
“It’s time you come back here and stop making things hard for you,” her dad added.
Jieun only shook her head then scooped another Yangnyeom Tongdak that her mom personally made just for her. “Appa, I can’t. There are only a couple of months away from graduation.”
“So make that reason for you to come back.”
“Do we really need talk about this again?”
“Fine. It’s just that, we really miss you, Jieun.”
She smiled at them. “I also miss you too guys.”
“Anyway,” his dad said. “How’s Kai? That kid hasn’t visited us for months. I wonder how he’s doing.”
Kid? Kai was already twenty one years old and stood five feet and ten inches. Where’s the kid in that guy?
“If I were you dad, don’t look for him. He’s too busy with his… “friends”.”
“At least he has time to mingle with them, unlike you.”
“It all comes back to me, again. Besides, the guy you’ve been praising is always giving me continuous headache.”
“Kai?”
“Is there anyone else?”
His dad abruptly looked at her mom, and then both of them looked at her.
“What is it, mom, dad? How come you’re looking at me strangely?”
“We’re just thinking, why are you always annoyed at him?” Her mom asked.
