Chapter 29: another surgery

It had been 2 weeks since HoMin had returned from their vacation, Changmin had set an appointment with Dr. Kim to see what was up with his knee’s, said appointment was today.

Changmin’s P.O.V

I’ve been up since 5 this morning worried about what Dr. Kim will tell me, my knees are one of the reasons I don’t think I can continue my career and trust me I love my career. I’d already made breakfast, woke Bae up for school and fed the twins, I even took Taepoong for a walk but that only made my knees ache more, Yunho came out at 7:30 and kissed me fingers twining with mine

“how long have you been up, I found it strange when I woke and you weren’t there snoozing away” he asked forehead rested against mine

“I’m just nervous about the appointment today” I answered, Yunho nodded smiling sadly and kissed me again before saying he was going to take a shower, when he came out I took one as well and by then we had to go to the hospital where Dr. Kim was waiting. Upon arrived we were led to a room and my blood pressure was check and a couple other vital signs, what’s the point if this I just need an x-ray, or at least I think I do. Dr. Kim came in shortly after that and looked at my knees, which were swollen to twice there regular size. After he’d examined them I was led by him to an X-ray room laid on a table and x-rays were took after that I was sent back to the room I came from.

“where’s Dr. Kim” Yunho asked

“he’ll be here in a bit” I answered and sat next to Yunho hands trembling, by now I was scared of what Dr. Kim was going to say

“Minnie, everything going to be fine” Yunho reassure when he noticed I was trembling, his hand grabbed mine and at the moment Dr. Kim came in a concerned expression on his face

“Changmin, Yunho I have the x-rays” Dr. Kim exclaimed

“And….” Yunho asked my fingers tighten on his

“Changmin’s gonna need knee replacements” Dr. Kim exclaimed

“k-knee replacements” I stuttered, Dr. Kim nodded

“it seems that even after we fixed the nerve problem when you were still pregnant we failed to notice what might happen when your back on your feet and rehearsing again, turns out your knees are almost bone on bone and calcium pills won’t fix it” Dr. Kim answered

“o-oh” was all I could say

“so we need to set a surgery date for sometime in the next month” Dr. Kim exclaimed, Yunho nodded and I zoned out. Knee replacements, I’m only in my early 30s and I already need knee replacements, ing hell why didn’t I listen to Yunho when he said stay home that day when I was pregnant with the twins and wanted to go out, then I wouldn’t have walked a mile at 5 ½ months, aish why me

“Minnie?” I heard Yunho call tentively, I looked at him unknowing my expression was completely blank, Yunho started panicking, since I’d gotten pregnant with Bae 6 years ago its pretty easy to read the expression on my face, I closed my eyes head resting against the back of the chair, it was coming I could feel it

“Yunho get me out of here” I said lowly, he nodded immediately leading me out of the hospital, the moment we were in the car my chest started tightening, I tried breathing normal but it didn’t work

“Yun panic” I choked out

“panic, why..” Yunho asked then stopped “oh oh~ okay try to calm down” he said

“can’t. tried” I answered, I could feel my heart beating faster and faster my whole body was trembling, Yunho quickly pulled me into his arms and started rubbing circles on my back and at the same time my chest, my heart rate slowly slowed and I started focusing on my breathing, and unlike the last 2 times I had panic attacks I didn’t end up crying. Yunho drove him with my head in his lap as I laid curled in a half ball my hand clenched in fists against Yunho’s jacket, when we stopped at Jaejoong’s apartment I looked at Yunho

“I have to go talk to Kangta tell him that are promotions have to start slow since your not going get around to well the next couple months” Yunho supplied, I nodded and let Yunho help me up, my head spun a little, one of the side effects of my panic attacks and I closed my eyes letting Yunho led me up the walk, I opened them again when he stopped, Jaejoong was already standing there

“hey Yun, what brings you here” Jaejoong asked

“me and Changmin just got back from the hospital we went to see Dr. Kim about Changmin’s knees, Changmin had a panic attack shortly after he told us what was wrong and I need to go tell Kangta” Yunho answered

“oh okay, come baby Maknae I was just about to do some baking” Jaejoong exclaimed grabbing my hand and lacing it with his and tugging, Yunho kissed me chastely and I sloppily traced 'I love you' on his palm

“I love you too Minnie, I’ll be back in an hour” Yunho answered, Jaejoong tugged my hand again and I followed him slipping off my shoes along the way, Jaejoong let go of my hand when we got to the kitchen and I plopped myself down on the counter

“Minnie what did Dr. Kim say” Jaejoong asked tapping the counter next to him which was filled with flour, I traced what I wanted to say in the flour

‘he said I need surgery again’ was what I wrote

“again what are they going to do this time” Jaejoong asked ‘

knee replacements’ I wrote into the flour

“oh wow, it that why you had a panic attack or cause you were scared, or was it both” Jaejoong asked

‘both’ I wrote, Jaejoong nodded and that ended that conversation. That day I made a chocolate cake with Jae and peanut butter cookies, Yunho came and hour and a ½ later saying he had to stop and pick up Bae from school, the 3 of us stayed for dinner and headed home.

        3 weeks later I was in the hospital again, Dr. Kim quickly went over the procedure and left me with Yunho for a moment

“Bambi babe everything’ll be fine, okay, and in 6 months time you’ll be back on your feet and dancing” Yunho exclaimed hugging me, I nodded and I quickly changed into the hospital garb Dr. Kim had just given me, he came back in and led me to the O.R where he put me under, the last thing I remember before falling asleep was, ‘don’t worry Changmin, this will got off with out a hitch’ kinda made me thing of secret agents on a mission. I woke what I figured was 2 hours later my knees stiff I slowly figured out they were in braces so I couldn’t bend them and Yunho was sitting next to me

“oh, Min your up” Yunho exclaimed when he realized I was conscious, I nodded “you look exhausted still” Yunho said

“I am” I answered

“then sleep, they said they’d release you the day after tomorrow, then Kangta wants us to make a brief appearance on star king, then he’s giving you a month to recover some then our promo’s will slowly start up” Yunho exclaimed, I nodded

“I’m I gonna be stuck in a wheel chair for 6 months” I asked

“sadly yes, hence why Kangta’s giving you a month to heal so by then you’ll know how to use your wheel chair until those braces are removed” Yunho answered, I nodded once more and slowly drifted to sleep after that. 2 days later I was release and we appeared on Star King, it was one of the talent ones again, it was fun to watch and over all I was happy sitting with Yunho hands twined behind my temporary wheel chair. I was dragged over there once cause one of the girls who appeared on the show was a fan and wanted to sing with me, but I found I couldn’t sing very well while sitting so I asked them to gimme a minute and Yunho helped me stand up, yea I can do that a just can’t bend my knees, in the end I managed to stand long enough to get through a song and hugged the girl I was with then nearly face planted but was caught by Leetuek who was standing near by, thank god for him, oh yea and Yunho almost revealed are marriage on national t.v., not that I would have cared but still. We went home and Yunho spent an hour scolding himself for that, I just laughed moving from my wheel chair to the bed, later Yunho came in with a tray full of my favorites and we sat eating together.

A/N: Ello~ everyone, sorry its took me a long time for this Chapter but i was trying to figure out what to do, and i was watching video's on Youtube, anyway the next chapter i write will be the last for this one and then after that i will had a one shot for you all.
