Yesung - It has to be you

“Are you okay?” Gahee asked with concern.

“I’ll tell you and the girls everything when we reach the dorm.” ______ told her unnie after the car drove off. Gahee respected her dongsaengs privacy and so she just nodded.

“But are you and Donghae okay?” Jung-ah couldn’t help but ask.

“Don’t worry unnie. Donghae oppa and I are not splitting up. He didn’t do anything wrong.” _______ assured them.

“Okay. I thought I would have to drive back there later and teach him a lesson.” Gahee joked back making _______ laugh.

Gahee, JungAh and _______ then had a quiet drive towards After School’s dorm.

The other girls welcomed _______ warmly again as soon as she stepped inside the door. Although everyone was curious as to why _______ suddenly came back to their place, the girls knew better and they let _______ get comfortable first before asking her their questions.

After a couple of minutes _______ called everyone to gather in the living room and finally told them her story. Except for our protagonist, there was not a single dry eye in the apartment.

“This so unfair.” Lizzy sobbed

“You both deserve your fairytale ending, after everything that you guys dealt with in the past, with everything that happened with Rain…” Gahee said with difficulty as she choked on her tears.

“I’m not worried because even if I’m gone, I know my kid will have amazing people around to raise her and give her all the love.” ______ tried to comfort her unnies and donsaengs but that obviously didn’t help because they cried more when she mentioned ‘…if I’m gone’.

“Ya!” Uee hit her on the arm

“You shouldn’t talk like that.” Raina said as she held the tissue up her eyes.

“That’s not funny unnie.” Nana said as well.

“Sorry.” ______ mumbled, she was now trying to stop her tears.

“We understand where Donghae is coming from. He just wants you to live ______.” Jooyeon told _______.

“_______, we need you to be safe. Donghae would lose himself if he loses you.” Jung-ah seriously told _______.

“I’ll do my best.” she just replied. She couldn’t promise anything because her life wasn’t in her control.

Meanwhile back at the couple’s apartment, Donghae called Leeteuk and asked if he could come over with the other guys. Leeteuk heard the anxious tone in his dongsaengs voice and so he immediately informed the others. It only took a couple of minutes before Leeteuk arrived at Donghae’s place. The guys quickly sensed the somber atmosphere in the apartment, they also realized right away that _______ wasn’t there.

Donghae informed his group members about _______’s condition. He couldn’t help but to break out in dears during his story telling. “I can’t lose her hyung. I don’t know what would happen to me if anything goes wrong.” Donghae admitted as he cried on to Leeteuk’ shoulder.

“______’s a fighter, okay? She loves you and your baby too much to let you both slip away just like that.” Leeteuk tried to calm Donghae down.

“Your father’s going to look out for the both of you. I’m sure he wants you to be happy.” Eunhyuk told Donghae.

“Yeah, things happen for a reason Donghae. We just have to believe that everything’s going to be okay and worth it in the end.” Heechul consoled as well.
 

______ couldn’t help her self and so she went back to her home the day after. It was already late in the afternoon and ______ felt that today, the two of them could talk and understand each other’s point of view better.

______ was supposed to surprise Donghae with her sudden arrival but it seems like she was the one surprised. She saw empty boxes lying around the living room as soon as she entered the apartment. She dropped her bag on the ground and quickly looked for Donghae. He wasn’t in their bedroom and so she walked towards the nursery room. Her eyes widened when she saw her husband, he was starting to take stuff down from the nursery. Donghae was currently disconnecting and putting the play mat inside a box.

“Oppa stop!” she slightly raised her voice, startling Donghae and making him turn around in surprise.

“You’re back…” Donghae softly said as he stood up from the floor.

“What are you doing?!” ______ asked, her eyes roaming around the room to check what else has Donghae put away.

“I had a dream, no a nightmare about you last night _______. It got me thinking about my life without you and I can’t live that life.”  Donghae informed _______.

“We’ve survived all sorts of stuff, from a psycho CEO to jealousy and other dramatic moments oppa. We’re not going to let some doctor lay the odds on us. And if something does happen, you’ll be okay. Just like your mom.” ________ tried to reason out.

“I can’t save you from this _______.” Donghae broke down in tears and ______ quickly wrapped her arms around him.

“I’m scared. How will I feel about the child that took you away from me? What if both of you leave me?” Donghae said in between his sobs.

“You’re not like that. And you’ll never be alone. It’s all about fate.  Maybe the whole point of you and me and every moment together has been leading to here.  Maybe we’re meant to create this life and it will change the world.” _______ told Donghae as she tried to comfort him.

“I can’t accept a bad ending for us ______.”

“We’re together and that can’t lead to a bad ending.” _______ said with a smile on her face as she held back the tears. Donghae then suddenly pulled away from the hug to look at ______’s face.

“I need to know we’re making the right choice. I’m not saying or doing this because I love you any less, it’s because I love you too much.” Donghae told _______, telling her just how much she means to him.

“I know oppa and I’m grateful for your love. I just…I really can’t accept to give our baby up without a fight.”

Suddenly _______’s eyes slightly widened and Donghae saw her jerk a bit.

“What’s wrong? Are you hurting again??” He asked anxiously before guiding _______ to sit down on the daybed in the nursery room.

_______ shook her head and answered “Our baby’s kicking.” She then placed Donghae’s hand on her belly and he feels the kick of their baby.

Donghae smiled and again tears of joy run down his face as he felt their baby move for the first time. It was like their baby reminding them that he’s alive ‘omma, appa I’m here.’

“I think he’s going to be a soccer-enthusiast like his dad. His kick is just amazing even if he is still inside me.” _______ tried to lighten up the atmosphere.

Donghae then took his hands off _______’s stomach and then he placed his hands on his face to cover him.

“It’s okay to love the baby.” _______ assured Donghae, she knew that he must be feeling somewhat guilty because of their previous talks.

“I can’t live without you.” Donghae seriously told _______.

“We’ll live happily ever after. All three of us.” She says optimistically. “It’s going to be okay.”

“What if it’s not?” Donghae asked back as he looked at _______.

“We’ll bring and watch our son attend his first day of school. We’ll meet his girlfriend and we’ll send him off when he enlists.” _______ has already imagined their future with the kid.

Donghae sighed, ______ then felt like he’s still not convinced.

“I can’t believe I’m saying this oppa, but…no mater what you say, it won’t affect my decision. I’m doing this. I’m having this baby.” _______ sternly told Donghae her firm decision.

“No.” Donghae answered and looked _______ intently in the eye and placed his palm against her cheek. “WE are having this baby.”

_______ sighed and a relieved expression spread out on ______’s face. She smiled widely and hugged Donghae tight.

“Just promise me you won’t leave me.” Donghae whispered in her ear as he wrapped his arms around her.

“I promise. I love you oppa. Thank you.” _______ replied too happily, forgetting for a moment that promises can be broken if it’s out of her will.

“I love you too much yeobo and it scares me to think about anything that might happen to you.”
