Chapter 25: Road to recovery

Changmin spent surprisingly longer in the hospital then first anticipated after he’s blood pressure and heart rate sky rocketed the day after Haneul was born, the doctors got concerned and after stabilizing him did some tests finding nothing was wrong, just that Changmin’s heart was still under a little stress from the amount of blood he’d lost during the surgery and other then that was extremely healthy considering what he’d went though. Yunho took him to see Haneul on his 7th day in the hospital, but other then that he stayed in his room preferring not to be moved around cause it caused to much pain. He’d watch to nurse change his gauzes in the morning and just before he went to sleep and had noticed the incision was now cut in a ‘T’ shape, he decided he’d have to asked Yunho about it the next day. Which is what he did the moment Yunho came in that day, this is of course after he got a kiss, Yunho answered

“they couldn’t get Haneul out with the original diagonal incision so they cut on either end of your belly button, that why its kinda mangled a little, kinda a cross between a inny and a outty” Changmin nodded “hey do your remember anything from that night” he asked after

“I remember most of it, I remember not feeling good at all that day but I though nothing of it, then when me and Deneeka were talking I remember suddenly feeling drained, then heard Deneeka call you saying I had a high fever, I remember you getting my attention and me saying ‘Yun’, then I felt my water break and then I think I black out for about an hour, then regained consciousness again when you were driving to the hospital but everything was burred and fuzzy, I could here you mumbling from the drivers seat, then a stab of pain knocked me out again. The next thing I remember was laying here in this room bump no longer so prominent, breathing though a oxygen tube IV poking me in the hand, Blood Bag poking the crease of my arm and a different stabbing pain, well it was more of a nagging throbbing pain, it still is a nagging throbbing pain, cept when you and the nurses move me then it’s a stabbing pain worse then the first time with Mi Cha” Changmin explain Yunho nodded understandingly before remembering something and smiled

“oh yeah just remembered I was visiting Haneul earlier and the nurse had said that she was going to take him out of the incubator this afternoon, she told me to let you know, so how bout we go see our little baby boy” he said, Changmin nodded excitedly and Yunho grabbed the wheel chair from the corner of the room taking the IV bag from its hook next to the bed and attached it to the hook of the rod attached to the back of the wheel chair before turning back to Changmin “kay Minnie babe you ready” he asked peeling back the blankets covering Changmin, Changmin nodded biting his lip which quickly turned into him harshly on his bottom lip cringing painfully as Yunho lifted him from the bed to the wheel chair vision blurring slightly when tear sprang in his eyes he blinked them away

“I’m okay Yun” Changmin reassured quickly before Yunho could say anything or worry about him

“are you sure” Yunho asked Changmin nodded “alright off to see Haneul then” Yunho exclaimed and pushed Changmin out of the room heading toward the baby ICU ward. Changmin light up the moment his Haneul was in sight

“ah Yunho-shii, I see you told Changmin that I was planning to take Haneul out” the nurse said, Yunho nodded sheepishly “well then Changmin-ah come, come hold your baby boy” the nurse invited, Yunho pushed Changmin closer and the nurse placed the little baby in his arms, both he and Yunho were amazed at his small size, he only fit the length of Changmin’s lower arm

“h-he’s so small” Changmin mumbled taking his little finger and dragging it over a small button nose and across soft plush lips, which unconsciously ended up being on by the small little boy, Changmin chuckled “Yun he’s got your lips and I got the feeling he’s going to have your eye color too, though he has my mismatched eye shape and chubby cheeks” Changmin said voice completely awed

“yea, well he’s also got your mop top and hair color” Yunho answered “can I hold him too” he added addressing the nurse, she nodded and Changmin handed him over they admired him for about an hour before leaving, Yunho having gotten a text from Deneeka asked where they were, Yunho replied visiting Haneul and Deneeka wrote to meet them at the park just outside the cafeteria, so off they went sides Changmin could use some fresh air anyway. After visiting and having lunch with Deneeka Mi Cha and the twins Yunho took Changmin back to his hospital room

“ya know, I’m really starting do hate hospitals” Changmin grumbling as Yunho settled him back into his bed, he’d hardly wince that time, then again Yunho had agreed to letting him get up himself instead of lifting him, but it was still progress from his point of view

“I know babe, just 5 more days and you can come home” Yunho answered pushing the hair out of Changmin’s face and kissing his forehead followed by this cheeks, eyelids and finally his lips “I Love You” he said when he pulled away

“Saranghae” Changmin whispered forehead resting against Yunho’s. 5 days later the doctors release Changmin with some antibiotics to get his body going again. Haneul was to say for another week, he wasn’t quite stable enough to go home. Changmin spent the next week in bed finally moving around again the night before the went to pick up Haneul.

“hey Yun can we stop at the super market I need to get some more Vitamin water and we need to get more tape and gauze for my incision” Changmin had asked the next day as they climbed into the car to pick up Haneul from the hospital

“yea sure, on the way back I’ll stop in and pick them up” Yunho answered. After picking up Haneul they did exactly that, Haneul in tow being carried by Yunho in his carrier Changmin’s fingers threaded though his free hand, Changmin‘s free hand was placed carefully above his incision wound, eyes twinkling as he stared at his baby boy. They grabbed their items and a cola for Yunho and headed out. Arriving home Deneeka took Haneul with Changmin’s permission that was and feed him, seeing as she was still feeding the twins at the moment and Yunho help Changmin into the recliner next to the couch which Mi Cha climbed carefully into this lap shortly after, Changmin unconsciously began running his fingers through her dark brown almost black shoulder length wavy hair. An hour later Yunho carried the Changmin’s 2 little munchkins to their room, how he managed to do that Changmin didn’t have a clue, coming out a couple minutes later and the 3 of them watched a movie glad Changmin and Haneul were safe.
