“AAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaahh!!!”

It was all a blur after that.

She didn’t want to see what would happen next, so she threw caution to the wind and let go of the reins to cover her eyes. When Athena suddenly moved backwards, she felt her position shift. Not long after, there wasn’t anything she could do, and she was sent flying away from her running horse.

With a loud thud, she fell on her right side. Thankfully landing on her arm instead of her head.

“Uhhhh..” She groaned, feeling the impact of her fall, half praying that she didn’t sprain anything.

She only has a week left here in Corfu and the agency is expecting her to be in the US for the continuation of her tour.  Getting injured is definitely out of the question.

It didn’t take long until the sound of running footsteps came. She expected medics or some staff from the farm, but it was neither.

“Jieun..” Jihoon’s worried face came into view. His gaze quickly scanned her, probably estimating the damage. ”It’s alright, we’ll get help, I'm here.”

She didn’t want to let him see through her - how much she wanted to bawl her eyes out because of the pain; and because she regrets actually going through with this stupid bet. But when he kept on telling her “it’s alright” in that familiar soothing voice that she realized she missed, she gave in.

“M-my arm…it hurts so much.” She squeezed the words through whimpers, and tears started streaming down her face.

“I know…I saw how fast it all happened.” he answered.

It didn’t take long until the medics came to check on her. The nurses helped her get to the van that took them to the clinic. The scrapes on her arms were cleaned and an x-ray was taken on her arm just to make sure that nothing is broken.

Dr. Kostas smiled after checking her arm one last time.

“Ms. Lee, you’re fortunate that the x-ray shows the pain is just bruising. The accident could’ve been worse, but with rest, your arm will be alright in 2-3 days.”

She nodded, feeling relieved. At the corner of her eye, she can still see Jihoon standing beside the doctor. If she’s being honest, she didn’t expect him to still be here, but he’s never left since.

“Thank you Doctor.”

“I’m going to prescribe you some painkillers, but take them only when needed. You don’t need an arm sling, but please make sure you don’t put pressure or use your right arm. You can ask your boyfriend here to help you get on with day to day activities for a few days.” The doctor added.

Jieun couldn’t even look at Jihoon, feeling embarrassed.

“Uhm…he’s n —” she immediately responded to correct the doctor’s miscalculation of their relationship, but she didn’t have the opportunity to complete her sentence.

“Don’t worry about it, doc. Can we also get the clinic’s contact number just in case we need anything?” Jihoon asked.

This time around, Jieun looked at him, curious. It didn’t look like he was trolling anyone. He actually looked sincere.

When everyone left, Gray and Chuck went inside the small room to ask how everything was. They both look relieved when Jihoon told them that she didn’t break anything.

“Thank God! I was so worried..” said Gray, while Chuck nodded beside her, looking a bit rattled.

“We asked the clinic to help drive us to the lobby so we can get our room keys. Jieun should rest..” Chuck added.

The drive to the main building where the restaurant and the rooms were didn’t take long. When they got to the lobby, a friendly young lady named Sheila welcomed them and asked for their names.

“Hmmm…Gray Cole and Chuck Brennan, that’s a double room right?”

Gray and Chuck nodded.

“Okay, here is your key..” Sheila paused then checked the computer once again before turning towards her. “Lee Jieun and Jung Jihoon, right?”

“Yes.” They answered in unison.

“Alright. Here’s your key.” Sheila said as she handed over a key to her.

“How about my room?” Jihoon asked.

Sheila looked confused when Jihoon asked that, the bright smile she had on her face slowly dimming.

“Oh, when the reservation was made it said it’s for couples…” Sheila's brow furrowed, immediately checking her computer once again. “Oh…”She gave their group an apologetic look.

“What?” Jihoon asked. Jieun can tell that he was getting impatient.

“Uh..there seems to be a mistake. Your  reservation had notes that Ms. Cole and Mr. Brennan will be sharing a room…but no notation for yours. I think our staff might have made a mistake.”

Jieun’s heart sank, and she felt worse when she saw the growing scowl on Jihoon’s face. It’s not like she was okay with sharing a room with him (that will be like tempting fate) but did he really have to hate the idea that much?

Lee Jieun, now is not the time to be analyzing Jihoon’s thoughts!!! We have a crisis here! She chided herself, focusing on the issue at hand.

“No. We can’t share a room, Shiela. Can you please do something about this?”  She asked, as calmly as she could. It would be of no help to get angry at the staff.

Sheila smiled apologetically and told her that she’ll check if there are available rooms, momentarily disappearing to the tiny office behind her desk.

Jieun sighed, feeling a growing sense of doom. She can’t stay with Jihoon even for just a night. That would be a disaster. Not only because bad things keep on happening to her when he’s around, but also because she can’t trust herself when she’s around him.

Yes. In the five days she’s been around him, she’d confirmed that even three years didn’t do much. Jihoon has that pull on her that even she can’t explain. Therefore, sharing a room is non-negotiable.

It didn’t take long until Sheila came back. Before she even started spelling, Jieun can already tell it’s not going to be good. Sheila looked like she was going to cry.

“I-i’m sorry, Ms. Lee, Mr. Jung….all our other rooms are occupied..”

She felt sorry for Sheila, but there has got to be another way.

When she turned to look at Jihoon, he was busy perusing a Honigtal Farm brochure.

“Your brochure says you offer camping tents?” He asked, looking resigned. She can tell that Jihoon disliked the idea of sleeping outside but he knew there was no choice. Also, this cemented her earlier idea: Jihoon found sharing a room with her very unpleasant. Huh.

“Ah, yes…”

“Is that available now?”

“Y-yes sir..”

“Fine. That will do.”

**

She couldn’t help but look at Jihoon as they made their way to their room. They both agreed that he’s going to keep his stuff inside, but he’s going to sleep outside, in the camping grounds.  He didn’t look angry, but he didn’t look pleased either. This day’s been weird overall, so she didn’t know if she should make small talk or just let him walk in silence.

The room was a standard one, with a double bed, a small study and a basic bathroom. There were small cabinets where they could hang some clothes, but her favorite part was that, unlike other rooms, it had access to the grounds. From the window she can see the garden and the barn from afar, but closest is the open area which looks like where the campers will be.

It was pretty awkward when they were both inside, but Jihoon immediately busied himself with his things. From the looks of it, he was taking out stuff he might need, since he’s not going to sleep inside the room. Despite herself, she felt sorry and a little guilty that he had to sleep outside.

“Oppa, are you sure you’ll be fine outside?” She couldn’t help but ask.

“Mm.”  came his laconic response. He didn’t even look up from his bag.

It was strange. Somehow, she’s worried because she remembered how he used to have trouble sleeping. Sleepi

Chapter 5: Woaaaahhh! It’s more common than we think how easy it is to be manipulated by someone like Joongi right? Urgh! Poor Jieun, I hope one day she can come to peace with it. I’m excited to see how that will unfold. Trauma with past relationship is such a serious matter, I’m glad you are touching on it. Especially when they are celebrities themselves, doesn’t mean they don’t get these kind of issues you know?
I wonder what scandal it is that she got into in the past, the one Joongi kept talking about. Aaaahhh!! Excited to see what’s to come of this story.
Oh and I totally understand what you mean by you want to jump to the part you want to write but you have to get this one out of the way. I feel you 1000%!!! Hope you had something relaxing right after you finished this stressful chapter. It is full on!!

Chapter 4: Jieun’s worries are relatable! At times you love the other person but it doesn’t mean you will follow with whatever it is they want to do. I hope she will find the courage to speak with Jihoon about their future soon.
Aaahh Joongi noooo I can never picture him being a jerk of a boyfriend but here he is.
Loving how you are delving into the ups and downs of their relationship in this sequel. It’s not always end at happy endings right?
This is the reality of any relationship. Thank you for a beautiful story so far!
Can’t wait to read more 😍

Chapter 3: Youngja is such a sweet old lady 🥰 so much love for her!
I have to say, your writing style has improved heaps! Not that it was terrible before but it is more “polished” now. I enjoy knowing what the characters are thinking and feeling through the narratives.
ALSO, your steamy scene has leveled up for sure! Damn, I need to wipe away my drool 😛
Your thoughts on IU and Jay Park? I suddenly saw an interview of them together and how they performed a song. So cute!
I am looking forward to how all this will unfold. Thank you for your update!
