Jieun sighed as she took the last step leading to Sunrock’s top floor. Scoping the empty area, she walked towards one of the tables and set down her bag of takeout food. She took a sip from her iced americano and leaned back on the chair, admiring the lights from the nearby town.

She spent almost her entire day in the Achilleion Museum and nearby restaurants and attractions, taking in the majestic architecture and the rich history behind it.

Her feet were tired and sore from walking around and climbing stairs all day but she really enjoyed it.

“Ahh, so excited to get the photos developed.” She said, remembering all the nice photos she took earlier.

Taking out the vegetarian burger she ordered, she took a bite and groaned in delight at how tasty it was.

“Wow, this is so good!” She exclaimed as she took another bite and fished out the paperback from her bag.

One week in Corfu and this was her evening routine: leisurely dinner with a book. She’s almost done with this book of essays from David Foster Wallace, and she’s enjoyed it so far. Her nightly routine helped her wind down and get good sleep. The only thing she needs to cut down on is her coffee intake. Dr. Yoo will not be particularly pleased when he hears about it because caffeine also affects her mood. However, the coffee in Corfu is too delicious, she just can’t resist!

She made a mental note of having just one cup tomorrow, and continued reading.

About to turn the page to the next one, she was interrupted by the sound of footsteps and the voice of someone speaking on the phone.

Correction: speaking in Korean on the phone.

She didn’t mean to eavesdrop, but she couldn’t help but catch some parts of the conversation.

“Aniyo, it’s just mostly me on the beach, just relaxing..haha no, I don’t have a greek girlfriend yet *chuckles*. You’ll be the first to know if that happens….”

“Yah, why would you even send me that! That’s cheating!”

From the tone of the voice, she immediately knew that it was Jihoon and it made her internally groan. And she can also tell that he was flirting with whoever it was on the phone - that flirty tone was all too familiar to her.

All she wanted was to have dinner in peace and read her book. Now, Jihoon has also invaded this little haven of hers.

Wanting to remain inconspicuous, she just continued reading, hoping he wouldn’t notice her and just eventually leave. Luckily, she chose a seat facing the terrace, her back to the stairwell.

Jieun tried to focus on her book, but at the corner of her eye, she saw Jihoon spread out an exercise mat.  It seems like he didn't notice who she was, probably thinking she's just one of Sunrock's guests.

Good. Maybe I can finish my burger and then quietly leave.

She continued munching on her dinner, a little bit faster than she'd like. After finishing it, Jieun closed her book and stashed it in her bag. She would've liked to keep drinking her coffee out here on the terrace, with such a lovely view in front of her, but maybe not today. Being around Jihoon makes her feel nervous, and when she's nervous she gets clumsy, and she wouldn't like to look like a nervous wreck in front of her ex.

She wants to come across as the cool ex who has moved on from their relationship.

That made her ask: why is she so nervous? She's moved on from Jihoon for sure. It's been three years for goodness' sake!

Maybe it's just the residual awkwardness, the kind one has when confronted with an ex from a relationship that didn't end well.

Yeah, that's it.

Now she really has to leave if she wants to continue going unnoticed.

She stole a quick glance at the tall man intently doing his push-ups, then rose to her feet. She slung the tote bag on her shoulder, and loosely put the lid back on her plastic coffee cup.  Quietly pushing the chair back, she turned away from the terrace, away from Jihoon’s view and onto the stairs leading to the rooms.

Seeing Jihoon busily doing sit-ups, completely oblivious to her presence, made her smile.

She was taking careful steps away from the table when Jihoon suddenly gave a loud grunt.

Jieun and the nervous wreck that she is was startled, exclaiming "kamjagiya!!" loud enough to make her wince in embarrassment.

The loose cap of the plastic coffee cup also got detached when she did a little jump, spilling coffee all over her front. The iced drink was so cold, she immediately lifted her shirt before the coffee bleeds into her inner tank top.

“Aishhh!!!” she grimaced at the feel of the cold against her skin.

Before she knew it, Jihoon was already up, facing her.Her peripheral view told her that he was startled too.

"A-are you ok -"

His sentence was immediately cut off when he saw that it was her.

"Uh...your...shirt.." There was an embarrassed look on his face, his finger tentatively pointed at her shirt.

Jihoon turned around, probably giving her privacy to check just how messy she looks. Yes her shirt has become a mix of white and brown thanks to her clumsy self, but she didn't get what Jihoon was making a huge fuss of -

Holy crap.

When she looked at herself, she realized why Jihoon was startled.

Not only did she raise her shirt, but the stretchable tank top she was wearing underneath also rolled up with it, revealing her soaked bra and her abdomen.

She immediately rolled her tank top down, which, thankfully, didn't have much of t

Chapter 5: Woaaaahhh! It’s more common than we think how easy it is to be manipulated by someone like Joongi right? Urgh! Poor Jieun, I hope one day she can come to peace with it. I’m excited to see how that will unfold. Trauma with past relationship is such a serious matter, I’m glad you are touching on it. Especially when they are celebrities themselves, doesn’t mean they don’t get these kind of issues you know?
I wonder what scandal it is that she got into in the past, the one Joongi kept talking about. Aaaahhh!! Excited to see what’s to come of this story.
Oh and I totally understand what you mean by you want to jump to the part you want to write but you have to get this one out of the way. I feel you 1000%!!! Hope you had something relaxing right after you finished this stressful chapter. It is full on!!
I appreciate your regular updates and how much love you put into your story, it shows! 😘🥰

Chapter 4: Jieun’s worries are relatable! At times you love the other person but it doesn’t mean you will follow with whatever it is they want to do. I hope she will find the courage to speak with Jihoon about their future soon.
Aaahh Joongi noooo I can never picture him being a jerk of a boyfriend but here he is.
Loving how you are delving into the ups and downs of their relationship in this sequel. It’s not always end at happy endings right?
This is the reality of any relationship. Thank you for a beautiful story so far!
Can’t wait to read more 😍

Chapter 3: Youngja is such a sweet old lady 🥰 so much love for her!
I have to say, your writing style has improved heaps! Not that it was terrible before but it is more “polished” now. I enjoy knowing what the characters are thinking and feeling through the narratives.
ALSO, your steamy scene has leveled up for sure! Damn, I need to wipe away my drool 😛
Your thoughts on IU and Jay Park? I suddenly saw an interview of them together and how they performed a song. So cute!
I am looking forward to how all this will unfold. Thank you for your update!
