HORIZON INC. MAIN BUILDING/ MEETING ROOM:

Once Mara's business meeting in Italy was over, she planned to stay there for another two days for a vacation but after receiving a phone call from Mr. Shin, she immediately pack her things up and readied herself to fly back to South Korea. During her flight, she receives reports and reads some articles about his sons, especially with Hongjoong and his boyfriend Seonghwa. Mara's patience was being tested once again as she couldn't help but get more infuriated upon reading the article about Hongjoong's dating life. She was a walking-ticking time bomb ready to explode once triggered in a wrong way.

As she walks inside the meeting room, she immediately saw Hyunjoong and Hongjoong sitting on the opposite side of the oval table. Hyunjoong and Hongjoong didn't even greet their mother but acknowledged her presence instead just to show some little respect for her. After some waiting for about 20 more minutes, Mr. Shin finally arrives with someone, and Mara was furious and she's glaring straight at that guy. Hongjoong was eyeing the unfamiliar guy in confusion and curiosity who was with Mr. Shin 

"Sorry, that we're late". Mr. Shin apologetically said

"As you may all know, I gather you up all here to read the Last Will and Testament of Mr. Kim Seungguk". Mr. Shin continues in a firm tone

"How dare you bring that bastard inside the Horizon?!". Mara said as she tries her best to restrain herself in anger upon seeing her husband's bastard son

"Mara, you know that he needs to be here so... he has the right to be here". Mr. Shin in a matter-of-fact tone. Hyunjoong and Hongjoong were all silent but Hongjoong was more of confuse about what was going on after hearing the word bastard. He has a lot to asks but as everyone in this room who's sharing the same sentiments to end this torturous meeting at once, he'll save the questioning later

"Shall we proceed?". Mr. Shin said as everyone was quiet down, he proceeds as he rummages his attache case to get the documents

"I'll read now the Last Will of Mr. Kim Seunguk. Know all men by these presents, that I, Kim Seungguk of Seoul Republic of South Korea being of full age and sound mind and memory, does hereby make, publish and declare this instrument to be my Last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all my previous will and codicils made by me. I declare Attorney Shin Changmin and all the references in this Will to my children are references to him. I have the following children: Kim Hyunjoong born on July 16, 1989. Kim Mingyu born on April 6, 1997, and Kim Hongjoong born on November 7, 1998. I appointed Attorney Shin Changmin as executor of my Last Will and Testament. My executor shall be authorized to carry out all the provisions of this Will. All the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate, whether real or personal. First, I'll give each of my sons a cheque worth 2 million US dollars. As for my properties, the Kims' family mansion and the vacation house in Switzerland will go to Hyunjoong since he is the eldest. The Kim family ranch and a small farm in Busan will go to Mingyu and, the villa at Jeju island and the other vacation house in Hawaii will go to Hongjoong, my youngest son. And lastly, the Horizon INC. and all premises and establishments under the Horizon empire will be back to their rightful owner which is Mr. Park Sejun or any of his living children. If the said beneficiary does not so survive me then I give the authorization to Attorney Shin to liquidate all my assets and donate them to various charities.". Mr. Shin said in a serious tone as he finished reading the document in his hand. The meeting room fell silent for a while as tension fills the room

"I still can't believe that Seungguk will do this... to his family". Mara said as she shook her head in disappointment and pure disdain. Then Mr. Shin starts to hand the cheque to the Kim brothers

"I'll meet you personally to give you all the papers and land titles that you all inherit from your father". Mr. Shin said in a firm tone as he starts to pack his case

"Now, that this is finally over... you already have what you want... now leave and disappear". Mara said in a serious tone as he eyed her husband's bastard son across from her

"With all due respect Mrs. Kim, I will... and would certainly leave this premises as soon as this is over. I know you couldn't stand seeing me... so am I. Knowing that I had a gut feeling that you could've possibly been behind my mothers' accident leading to her untimely demise". Mingyu said in a serious tone. Hyunjoong and Hongjoong were silently taken aback upon hearing such strong allegations about their mother

"All you have was a gut feeling... you can say what you want to say because you hated me but you don't have any proof... so, shut up and get the out of my building!". Mara furiously said as she pounds her fist on the table

"Your building? still claiming what's not yours". Mingyu said in a mocking tone as he stood up from his seat with a smug look on his face

"Mingyu, just leave now... my family and I need to talk". Hyunjoong said in a firm tone as he address his half-brother. Mingyu immediately complies with his older brother but before exiting the meeting room Mingyu and Hongjoong had made brief eye contact before Mingyu heads out.

When Mingyu left the room, tension was still in the air and Hongjoong was the one who speaks up first because he needs some enlightenment

"Can you explain what is going on here?". Hongjoong asks in a calm tone as he could be

"What do you want to know Hongjoong-ah?". Mr. Shin asks in a firm tone

"First of all, who is that guy?". Hongjoong asks in general

"That's Mingyu, your half-brother". Mr. Shin simply said

"What half-brother? wait, am I the only one who didn't know about him?". Hongjoong asks in total disbelief as he looks back and forth between his mom and hyung

"It was in my teen years that... I knew of his existence but I just recently met him at the cemetery during Dad's death anniversary". Hyunjoong explained with a sigh. Hongjoong scoffs upon hearing his older brother

"Okay... so we had a half-brother who I suddenly knew was existing out of nowhere. Next question, what do you mean about the Horizon... that the Kims' didn't own it? who is this Mr. Park and where is he now?". Hongjoong asks in a quite frustrated tone

"Horizon was then a small business company with no clear future owned by Mr. Park Sejun, a very close friend and partner of Seungguk. Your father, Seungguk was one of his close friends and partners. Seungguk still seeing some great potential with the company, it just needs some financial support and business connection, so he tries to help Mr. Park to save the company... and that's when your mother came into the picture". Mr. Shin said in a serious tone. Hyunjoong and Hongjoong were once again in disbelief upon hearing the origins of the Horizon empire. They gave their mother a different kind of look. A look of disappointment and disgust at the same time. They were trying to absorb every information that has been revealed to them 

"Your job is over here Changmin. I want you to get the hell out of here!". Mara said in a quite angry tone just to intimidate Mr. Shin but the said man wasn't having it

"Please stay Mr. Shin... we want to know the truth. I'm sure our late father told you everything". Hyunjoong suddenly said in a serious tone and Mara immediately stood up from his seat, anger visible on her face

"So, Mr. Park is the real owner of Horizon... how it ended up with the Kims?". Hongjoong asks with a deep sigh

"When Horizon was saved from bankruptcy... for some unfortunate coincidence, Mr. Park suddenly died from a car accident... that's when the Kims took over the Horizon... and the rest is history". Mr. Shin said with a shrug

"That's kind of questionable, don't you think? suddenly became the owner of Horizon... what happened to Mr. Park's family? What did my father say about this?". Hongjoong curiously asks

"After Mr. Park's death... his family suddenly disappears from the city. Seungguk tried to reach out to Mrs. Park but he couldn't find them. And after some years later your father found out that they were living a normal life... which is... it shouldn't been in the first place. Mrs. Park and her children were living in a small house and barely surviving every day... in short, they became poor. Then because of the untimely death of her husband Mrs. Park suffered from depression and later on... committed suicide. Her children move again and Seungguk couldn't find them once again". Mr. Shin said. Hyunjoong and Hongjoong were still in disbelief because they both sympathized with what have become to Mr. Parks' family. It's tragic.

"When Seungguk learned that Mr. Park died from a car accident, he was devastated. Because they just closed a million-dollar contract with one of their American partner. He didn't want to believe that Mr. Park just died by accident that's what the police ruled out. So Seungguk hired a private investigator to re-investigate what caused the accident. Later on, he found out that... it wasn't just an accident... it was planned". Mr. Shin continues. Hongjoong and Hyunjoong were in utter shock 

"Mr. Shin please do whatever you can to find Mr. Park's children". Hyunjoong said in a firm tone. He didn't want to hear the rest of the story so he diverts the conversation. He's done with his mother.

"Don't worry. I'm on it". Mr. Shin said in a firm tone. With that said Mara's blood starts to boil. How can Hyunjoong say this when their family's reputation was on the line. What will their relatives and other people think about them?
