Chapter 34 - A Promise for the Next Chapter
Length of HappinessBoth of them took a deep breath. Tiffany was trying to recover herself from the event, while the shorter girl was just silently staring at her neck.
“I guess, you can haunt me forever, if you can keep up.” Taeyeon said, finally opening her eyes.
“I thought I had a good payback, but somehow you managed to get me back not a minute after.”
A cheeky grin appeared on Taeyeon’s face. “You had a good payback. You had to confess to me in front of everyone, it almost scared me to death. Then I might have to start haunting you instead. But I would hate to die at 18, it's a bit too soon. I am not happy enough yet.”
“You guys are so cheesy!” Sunny said out loud and managed to make herself laugh again.
“You do realize you are still ‘in front of everyone’ right?” Jessica said after witnessing the whole thing.
With that Taeyeon’s face turned so red, and she had never felt so vulnerable before.
“Come on it’s ok.” Tiffany nudged her and grabbed her hand and took her chair.
After they finally settled down with the fact that the two are dating, Sunny offered another game for them to play. She called it the Dream Keepers.
All they did was write their name and their dream on a piece of paper and shuffled it. Then each person grabbed a random paper to see who’s dream they will be the keeper of. In few years time after they graduate or throughout their times together, they will help each other with the written dream.
“Ok, since it’s your game why don’t you start Sunny.” Yoona suggested.
Sunny unfolded her piece of paper. “I got Yoona’s. Her dream is ‘to eat in 10 different countries’…really? What kind of dream is that?”
Yoona nodded, her lips already watering. “What’s wrong with that? It makes me happy. Plus! It’s the pay off for my hard work!”
Sunny shook her head, “Ok, Yoona who’s paper did you get?”
“Humm…I got yours!” Yoona said and looked at what Sunny wrote. “Her dream is to be happy…Yah! Why are you judging me when you have a dream like that!?.”
“What? Being happy, doesn’t everyone dream that!?” Sunny retorted.
“It’s so simple and boring. Not interesting at all.” Yoona said disappointed.
“Ok. Ok. Let’s see who I got.” Hyoyeon interrupted them. “Tiff! Her dream is to be a writer. Woooow, Tiff! I wonder what you will write about?”
“To be more precise, you mean ‘who’ I will be writing about and her name starts with a ‘T’.” Tiffany said, but started laughing at how cheesy it sounded coming from her overhyped mouth. “And it also stands for the love of my….”
“Ok! Ok! We get it!” Hyoyeon stopped her before it makes everyone groan from the cheesiness. “Ok, who did you get?”
Tiffany unfolded her paper, she was hoping to see Taeyeon’s, but she got Hyoyeon’s instead. “Hyoyeon’s dream is to open a dance studio.”
Jessica joined in. “I believe it. And I bet she will work with so many idols, you better invite us and get us some sneak peeks!”
Everyone agreed and looked at Hyoyeon with high expectations, to which the latter have to nod in compliance. “Ok. Gosh.”
Jessica smiled, but then she realized the only two left was herself and Taeyeon’s paper.
“Ok. I will go first then.” Taeyeon volunteered and opened the paper. “It’s blank.”
“I don’t have a dream.” Jessica stated nonchalantly.
“How can you not have a dream? You got to have one!” Tiffany protested.
“I really don’t have one.” Jessica looked at her in all seriousness.
“Come on!” Tiffany urges her friend.
“Tiff, maybe she just doesn’t have one, we are still young anyways. At least it’s better than your love story day dreaming dream with Taeyeon.” Hyoyeon commented.
“You! I will deal with you later!” Tiffany glared at her and turned to Jess, “ what did shorty write?”
Jessica looked at them and smiled, “let’s have a toast! I wish all of your dreams come true and you guys will overcome any obstacles!”
“Are you not going to read Taeyoon’s dream?” Hyoyeon asked.
“She is smart. But she acts like a 7 year old, what dream can she have?” Jessica glanced a look at the said girl and raised her glass to the middle.
The group all raised their glass including Taeyeon, albeit not without a sneer towards Jessica.

Since they had activities the whole morning, they decided to stay home and watch some movies. An hour into the movie, some got bored and scattered around Jessica’s large house, which they chose instead of a theatre because they wanted somewhere quieter and with less people. Plus, her house is empty and her parents don’t come visit until the weekends, as they live in the capital.
“My legs numb.” Taeyeon whined after having Tiffany’s head on her lap for more than an hour.
“You don’t like me lying on your lap?” Tiffany looked up at her, teasingly.
“You stupid, if you keep lying on it you won’t have a lap to lie on and I am going to be in a wheel chair.” Taeyeon scolded, earning her a slap on her leg.
“Fine.” Tiffany raised up from her position and grabbed the bowl of popcorn to hang on to, since she liked to hold something, so she doesn’t feel completely empty after holding onto the shorty for too long.
“I want to walk around a bit. You keep watching, okay?”
Tiffany looked at her oddly, “Didn’t she already gave us a tour of her house, where do you wanna go?”
“Nowhere, I just wanna walk around,” Taeyeon hummed. “Hey, Sunny’s lap is available, if you need something to lean on.” She suggested, making Sunny turn her head from the screen.
“What?”
“Nothing. She is just being a goof again.” Tiffany replied. “We are supposed to be dating and you offer me someone else’s lap.” She muttered in disappointment.
“It’s just a lap, it’s not like Sunny will get by it.” Taeyeon commented then ran out of the living room.
“I really have to get used to that.” Tiffany said to herself out loud after the shorty went out of her view.

Jessica was enjoying her hard earned peace and quiet in her room, playing with her nails. Despite having to spend the day having to see her all day, she enjoyed hanging out with her friends again. It helped her forget all the recent fighting and arguments between her and her dad over that incident with Yuri. In the end, it didn’t change things much. She was to go to school like a good little girl and make her father happy. She sighed the nth time at how things had turned out.
When she finished painting the nails on one hand, she heard the door click open.
She expected it to be Krystal coming home early, because she’s the only one who’s allowed to walk casually in their room like that. But to her astonishment, Taeyeon walked in without any notice. At this point she had already given up trying to tell the latter off, it’s no use anyway.
“What do you want?” Jessica asked as she approached and startled when Taeyeon grabbed the nail polish out of her hand.
“Do you really have no dreams?” Taeyeon asked, playing with the small bottle.
