Five years ago

"Do any of you know her?" one of them ask.

"I think she teaches fifth graders. Fourth graders?"

They all stare in confusion as they watch the woman sing and dance at the front of the room. She had greeted them when she entered the room, already tipsy. One of the teachers sees Yuna smile. "Miss Choi, do you know her?"

She laughs once, smirk growing. "Does it matter? We're here to sing karaoke and have fun." Yuna gets up and grabs a microphone, joining the drunk woman with her singing and dancing.

The next morning, the two wake up next to each other, bare, and in a nice hotel room.

Yuna finds it entertaining how different the other woman acted in contrast to her drunk self. Kim Yewon, she said her name is. A writer, she proclaims herself. A gentle lover, she wishes to be.

Yuna finds out while they eat breakfast that Yewon was at the karaoke place with her friends, but they were too drunk (like her) to even realize she was missing.

Present

Yuna's a mess. She always gets herself so drunk, she passes out anywhere. Holding her head, she wakes up in a bed that's not hers and a neat room.

How did I get to a hotel?

There's medicine and a glass of water on the nightstand, with a folded piece of paper beside them. Opening the paper first, the content makes her head spike in pain, rushing to swallow the pill.

"Please take care of yourself. I don't want you getting hurt.

How did I get in Jung Yerin's house?!

She slaps her cheeks, hoping this is just a dream.

But it's not.

She opens the door again and sees her carrier in the open, her coat and scarf on top of it. On her tip toes, she makes her way to it, and heads to the door.

The doorbell rings suddenly, making her panic and hide behind the kitchen counter.

"Coming!" Yerin shouts. She pretends to not have seen the younger hide, and answers the door. Returning to the kitchen, she approaches Eunbi, who hasn't noticed because of how tightly she's keeping her eyes closed.

Yerin scoffs distastefully and returns to the stove, but turns back around when she hears a phone vibrate. She hears Eunbi sigh, staring at the phone as she accepts her fate.

"Nerd?" the architect reads the contact name as she sits down beside the other. "Who's that?" Snatching the phone, she presses the green button despite Eunbi's warning. "Hello?"

"...Hello?"

"Yes, this is Hwang Eunbi's phone."

A pause. "Sorry, but who are you?"

Yerin laughs a little. "Miss Hwang is in a meeting at the moment."

"Ah... I'll call back later then."

She hands the phone back after the call finishes, standing up to go back to her food.

Eunbi gives her a scowl. "That was rude."

"Well, I learned it from you," she shrugs.

Carrying plates in her hands, Yerin sets them down on the table and takes a seat. She looks to Eunbi who is just standing and staring back. "Sit. I'm hungry."

With slow steps, Eunbi sits across the other and there's silence for a moment.

"How did I get here?" Eunbi starts.

"How much do you remember?"

"...I was on a bus."

Last night

Yerin couldn't sleep, so she makes herself some coffee because if she's awake, might as well stay awake.

She finds her phone on her kitchen counter, scolding herself for forgetting to charge it. The screen lights up suddenly, a barrage of texts incoming one after the other from an unknown number.

"What the..."

"Jyng yrrn

ur sooioo mesn

wgy u sp mrab

I lpved u

I niss u"

Interesting spam, Yerin thinks. She calls the number, wanting to see if she can mess with them.

"Hello?" she hears an old man say.

"...Hello? Who is this?"

"Hello?" he says again.

"Uhm... You sent me a few weird messages an—"

"This is not my phone. It belongs to this young lady, but she's absolutely hammered. I'm at the end of my route, and I'm the last driver for tonight so there will be no buses." She hears the old man trying to ask the owner for her name. "Miss! What's your name?... Hwang? ...Hwang Eun?"

Something turns in Yerin's mind. "Sir, please wait a minute." She rushes to her work bag, looking through the pocket to find something. She finally feels it and pulls it out.

The number on the calling card matches the one she's talking to.

Eunbi.

She runs to grab a coat and her keys. "Sir, where are you right now?"

"Then you were on a bench at the bus center. I thought about leaving you there, but it was freezing. And I didn't want the driver to be liable," Yerin says blankly. "I carried you to my car. Drove here. Carried you again to my bed." She raises an eyebrow ever so slightly as she stares at the younger. "You're heavier than before. You have probably been eating well."

Eunbi drops her eyes to the food on the table. "Have you always been so blunt, Jung Yerin?"

"What about you?" she quickly replies. "I don't know. You're a stranger to me." Sighing, "Anyway, let's eat—"

"No. Let's talk about this," Eunbi says sharply. "We couldn't yesterday because of the others."

Yerin whines a little, "But I'm hungry." She taps her foot once. "Sinb would have loved this kind of breakfast. Does Hwang Eunbi not?"

"You're doing it again."

"Doing what?" she feigns cluelessness.

"Talking like that," Eunbi shakes her head.

"You're the exact same." Yerin pulls her phone out of her pocket. "Explain these," as she hands the phone to the other.

When Eunbi takes a look, her eyes shoot open at the currently opened chatbox.

Her number at the top.

With multiple messages with misspelled words about how mean Yerin is to her. Even one threatening to delete Yerin's number from her phone.

She puts the phone down, feeling a blush all over her body.

"I see you remembered my number. Or you saved it in your phone." Yerin folds her arms, "What did you save it as? I would have saved you as Camera Thief."

"Go ahead then," Eunbi snaps back.

"Not necessary. I wouldn't be needing to contact you."

"I told you I'll return the cameras."

"Keep them," Yerin retorts.

Eunbi scoffs. "Why would I keep them?"

Chapter 16: Is the original series have a sequel for this? The ending seems rush. I know this story followed the original drama that's why I'm wondering. Despite wonha still loving each other, they need to end up this way? But a happy ending for Sinrin is ♥️.
