Dr. Kim Youngwoon is one of the pediatrists you can call yourself a lucky one, when your child is one of his clients. The always kind and gentle doctor is very attentive to the health of his little patients, and with him they're in safe hands. 

But there is a little boy not feeling so safe, when he enters the practice of Dr. Kim, this morning, on his father's hand. 

"Appa? Did we really have to come here?" wails the little four years old, as they wait in line to the reception. Jongwoon looks down to his son, who tries to hide behind the stuffed giraffe in his arms. "Of course, my dear. I told you, you have an appointment today." The father knows how much little Ryeowook hates it to go and see the doctor, which is why he gives his little one an encouraging smile. 

"But I'm not feeling sick. I'm fine. So we can go home and come back another day." The boy's attempt to convince his dad gets interrupted by the friendly receptionist, who asks for the boy's insurance card.

After checking the data, she smiles at father and son, hands back the card and asks them to take a seat in the waiting room. Jongwoon thanks and smiles at the young lady, while grabbing the little hand of the pouting boy, leading him to the said area with the promise to look for some toys to shorten the time in between. 

It's very quite inside the waiting lounge. Only a girl, little older than Ryeowook sits with her mom on a table and passes the time with a book. The parents nod politely to each other, while little Wookie, always shy when he meets unfamiliar children, hides behind his appa's legs, until a toy excavator catches his eyes. Smiling after his little son, Jongwoon takes a seat and watches the boy measuring whether the gripper arm of the toy or the neck of his giraffe is longer.

Soon the nurse is calling for the girl to follow her, and Ryeowook takes the opportunity of being unheated by any unauthorized people around. He turns to his dad, and Jongwoon notices that the little one is still a bit sulky, "Appa."

"Yes, my dear?"

"Why do we have to come and see the doctor, even I'm not sick?" inquires the four years old, his cute face observes the father carefully. 

Jongwoon leans a little forward as he patiently explains to his unwilling son why, "The doctor has to check on your health, my dear. Whether you are growing properly and eating well. He also wants to know how good you can speak and what you're already able to do on your own." 

There is this cute pouting again, "Couldn't you have told him that on the phone?"

"No, my dear," the father chuckles, "For all this, the doctor needs to see you in person." 

Obviously not very satisfied with his appa's answer, the little guy turns back to the excavator, and let his plushie ride the toy, when another idea pops up in his little head, and he glares at his father with a hint of fear in his big innocent doe eyes, "Appa?"

"What is it, Ryeonggu?"

"Does the doctor have to give me an injection today?"

"I don't know, maybe. But it's nothing you need to be afraid of." 

A smile appears on the father's face, to show the boy there is nothing to be scared about, but little Wookie doesn't look very convinced, which is why his appa now joins him on the carpet to pull him into a tender hug on his lap.

Snuggling to the broad chest, Ryeowook clings into his father's shirt and the pout grows, "You know, Kyukyu needed to see his doctor a while ago. And he got an injection. He told us that this was soooo painful, that his entire arm almost fell off."

Jongwoon pats the small head, brushes aside some brunette strands and pecks his boy's forehead, "I'm quite sure it won't be as horrible as Kyuhyun had told you, my dear. I can guarantee you, that nobody's arm has fallen off when they have been vaccinated, ever." 

"Pinky promise?" Ryeowook is using his doe eyes on his dad and offers him a tiny finger, what the older accepts with an warm understanding smile, "Pinky promise." 

When Jongwoon is about to kiss his son's cute face once more, a nurse calls them into the consulting room, where Dr. Kim is already waiting.

"We are coming, thank you." Say
