Clear day
My DearSpring time is cleaning time, halmeoni always says, that's why little Ryeowook is very excited when his father gets the cleaning utensils from the broom closet one Saturday morning. Curious eyes watch the man getting mop, bucket, cloth, and various cleaning products to line them up on the kitchen table.
"Appa?"
"Yes, my, dear?"
"Do you want to clean our home today?"
"Yes, it's been a while. Do you like to help me?"
"Of course, appa. This is my home too."
The cute boy's way to appear all serious in front of his dad, lets Jongwoon smile, "Good boy."
His appa's praising wash away all the seriousness and Wookie giggles happily, as he hops to his chair.
"Where do we start?" The boy wants to know and eagerly pushes up the sleeves of his shirt.
"I need to mop the kitchen's and the bathroom's floor. If you want, you can wipe the table and other surfaces here in the kitchen."
"Alright, when I'm done here, you can mirror yourself anywhere."
The four year old announces loudly and once more, Jongwoon responds to his son's eagerness with his warm husky chuckle.
While his father is busy mopping the kitchen floor and bathroom tiles, Wookie gives his all to show his appa that he is indeed a big help. He wipes the table and the window sill three times, with an extra cloth he washes the surfaces of the kitchen counters and thanks to his little fingers he can get into the corners better than any adult.
In order not to get the freshly cleaned floor dirty, the little one toptoes through the kitchen on his socks and with a towel under the chair he pushes along the counters.
"Appa, I'm done here." The little one announces proudly as Jongwoon puts his cleaning tool aside. Taking a look at his son's work, he lovingly caresses the boy's soft brown hair, "You did very well, my dear." Little Ryeowook beams happily at this words, before carefully climbing down the chair.
"What do we do next?" He wants to know eagerly, all excited to help his appa more in the household. "We have to wait for the bathroom floor to dry before we can continue there. So I suggest we change our bed sheets and do the laundry." Wookie nods in agreement and pulls his appa by the sleeves, so they can start in his room.
They change the little one's safari pattern bedclothes to one with a night sky print, full of stars and a big moon. "I love this bedwear, too." declares the four year old, as he hops onto the freshly made bed, falls onto the soft linen and hugs the fluffy pillow. "You will sleep in it like on a cloud," smiles the dad, while grabbing the old sheets for the laundry, "Do you want to help me with my bed, too?"
That's all Jongwoon needs to say for the little boy jumping out of his new bedclothes and running off to the elder's bedroom. There he uses his appa's bed as trampoline to get right of the pillowcase. Done, the cheeky boy involves his dad into a pillow fight, what ends with father and son giggling and laughing on top of the bare bed.
After that ten minutes of sweet distraction, Jongwoon and little Ryeowook continue their tasks. Wookie helps load the old bed sheets into the washing machine while his appa puts fabric softener and detergent to the machine's filling container.
"Let's go on, my dear." Jongwoon says when the machine starts the washing program, "You would be doing me a favor if you tide up all your water toys that are scattered all over the bathroom."
"Ok, appa."
The boy bounces off to get the box the toys are supposed to be in. A small boat is lying on the sink, various containers and little buckets are piled up on the edge of the bathtub. The rubber ducky is lying in the tub on dry land, together with a tiny water gun. The giraffe and dinosaur shaped bath sponges are on the shelf, next to a fishing net and a mini watering can.
While Wookie collects his little treasures, Jongwoon is busy scrubbing the sink and toilet. Then the little one wants to help cleaning the mirror so dearly, but he's just too small, yet. Anyway, to prevent the boy from sulking, his
