“Ahjussi, I’m sorry, have you seen this girl?” Taeyeon showed Winter’s photo on her phone bun; the old man shook his head. It’s been one hour after Jessica and Taeyeon arrived and Winter’s presence is nowhere to be found. Jessica almost giving up, she scrubbed her face in frustration. Moreover, the sun is nearly set.

“Excuse me,” suddenly, a grandma is approaching them.

“Yes, Grandma? Is there anything we could help with?” Jessica asked

“I heard you guys were looking for a girl?”

“Yes. It’s our daughter,” Taeyeon nodded and took her phone. She shows Winter’s picture and the grandma nodded

“I met her this afternoon because we bumped at the convenience store. She said she wanted to see the sunset at the Eastside.”

Taeyeon turned her head around. The Eastside which the grandma talked about before is 10 minutes from their place by walk.

“Let’s go find her,” said Jessica, grabbed Taeyeon’s hand, “Thank you so much, Grandma!”

Jessica and Taeyeon keep looking around while holding hands. The sun is going down and they know if the night comes, it would be hard for them to find Winter. Jessica found someone familiar, sitting on the big rock while watching the sea

“Winter Kim!” Jessica almost yelled. She was about to yell again when Winter turned her head and saw them in horror

“Mommy… Umma…” Winter gasped. She never thought that her parent would find her

“Winter!” Jessica hugged her daughter immediately. Her body shivered due to relief. She pulled back and examined Winter’s body, “Are you okay? You only wear your thin jacket.”

Winter scrubbed her nape. She’s ready for another wrath from her Mommy because she’s being so antique today. But Jessica only sighed while took her blazer and handed it to her daughter.

Winter took the blazer, much to her surprise because her Umma also wider her eyes to the moment. From Taeyeon’s eyes, the older woman also expected another wrath from her wife but she only sighed

“Let’s go home,” said Jessica, back to her cold tone

“Let’s eat first,” Taeyeon took Jessica’s hand, intertwined them and caressed her palm, “I’m hungry.”

“The seafood restaurant over there is good!” Winter excitedly pointed one of restaurant which placed on the shore, “I ate there before.”

“Is it delicious?” Taeyeon asked and squeezed Jessica’s hand

“Yes, Umma.”

“Come on,” with a slight tug, Jessica followed them

Both Jessica and Taeyeon decided to not bring up the issue during their unexpected dinner. The restaurant is good and Winter eats with glee, much to Jessica’s liking

“You eat a lot, Winter,” said Jessica while wiping the dripped sauce in Winter’s mouth, “Did you have lunch before?”

Winter nodded, “I ate triangular kimbab before.”

Jessica furrowed her eyebrows. She always reminded Winter to eat appropriately and triangular kimbab isn’t food she expected Winter to eat while escaping.

“Did your pocket money running out?” Jessica asked, her tone is irritating

“No…” usually, Winter would argue back. But she knows this time she should be good because her parent came all the way here, only to find her

“Then why?”

“Baby…” Taeyeon squeezed Jessica’s shoulder. Jessica turned her head aside and found Taeyeon is looking intently at her. Jessica always melted under Taeyeon’s gentle eyes; this time is the same

“I’m sorry…” said Winter meekly, but it’s loud enough to hear by her parent

“It’s fine, Winter,” Taeyeon smiled again, “Have you done? Let’s go home.”

Jessica peeks through the rearview and sees Winter is asleep. Her lips formed a pout while sometimes she sighed through her sleep

“Are you looking at Winter?” Taeyeon asked while her eyes still on the road

“Yeah. She looks tired.”

“She is,” said Taeyeon, “Baby, I hope you aren’t mad at her because of this.”

Jessica sighed heavily and turned her face to the window. She’s irked because of her daughter’s behavior

“Taeyeon, look at her. I tried to remind her about the meal. How could she ate triangular kimbab only for her lunch?”

“She maybe did that out of curiosity, Sica. You know some of her friends eat that.”

“But, still…”

“Sica, Winter is only 16 years old now. She likes to experience so many things. She needs to learn from her fault too.”

“You always like that,” Jessica huffed and Taeyeon took this as a cue for not talking anymore. Whatever she says after this, Jessica would be arguing back, so, Taeyeon should keep silent.

“Minjeong,” Taeyeon called her daughter when they arrived at home

“Yes?” Winter stopped her track at the stairs

“Why didn’t you tell us about the parent’s meeting?”

“Because I know you guys won’t be able to come like usual,” Winter smiled sadly. She took something from her bag and gave it to Taeyeon. Jessica peeked from Taeyeon’s shoulder and read the schedule for the day after tomorrow
