Never once in her life, Taeyeon thought of coming back to her hometown, Jeonju. When she decided to went to France to take Culinary School, she wanted to erase all of her sad memories when she was in high school. Her first love, she never sure if she is still loving her or not, was left a significant scar on her heart

Taeyeon still remembers when she sang Katy Perry’s The One that Got Away because she knew, one day before she decided to confess, her crush was already taken

“In another life, I would be your girl…” Taeyeon sang the part while looked intently to her crush in the middle of the crowd when the prom night happened

And now, Taeyeon is standing tall in front of her favorite place. A big oak tree behind her family house, the exact location when she used to play guitar while singing some random songs. Those random songs were her heart, who always chicken out when she talked with her crush

“I see,” Taeyeon finished her last noddle and took her bag. She bumped with Nana, Hayeon’s mother at the door

“Going work, Tae?”

“Yeah,” Taeyeon just nodded and walked away

Taeyeon started to rolled the dough and processed to make the raisin scone. Her mother’s ability is making butter croissant and doughnut; after Taeyeon came back to her hometown and stay for good, she added some menus to them

Their family bakery provided some bakery products and coffee. They only had two workers beside Jiwoong and Mrs. Kim, now Taeyeon is there for replacing her late father

“Welcome to the Kimmy’s,” Victoria, the cashier greeted the new customers, “Hello Mrs. Jung and Mrs. Kwon, as usual? Do you want to try our scone?”

“Oh, now you baked a scone?” the one with her eye smile asked

“We have new chef,” Victoria chuckled, and suddenly, the talked chef is coming from behind while bringing a tray full of raisin scones

Taeyeon steps on her leftover cigarette harshly. It’s the break time and she decided to smoke behind the building

“Tae,” Jiwoong opened the door beside her, “Mom said you look bothered.”

“Nothing, I just shocked when saw my high school friend.”

“Oh, Jessica and Tiffany?”

By hearing the exact name, Taeyeon tensed on her position. She takes her packet of cigarette and lights one sticks again

“Yeah,” Taeyeon puffed the smoke from her nose

“It’s been so long for you, anyway Nana is working under Jessica.”

“What?”

“Huh? So, Jessica moved back to Jeonju and built the branch store of Blanc & Eclare here. Tiffany came after years.”

“Thanks for the information,” Taeyeon throws her cigarette to the trash, and entered the store again

Maybe the universe is playing with Taeyeon today. When she comes home after Jiwoong closed the store, she suddenly meets Jessica with Tiffany

“Hey, Taeyeon!” Tiffany, bubble as usual, greeted Taeyeon who walked on the pavement

“Hey,” Taeyeon smiled, she wants to run away but she knows it would be rude since she never kept the contact to all of her friends since she flied to France for graduate school, “What are you doing here?”

“Jessi and I wanted to try the Bungeo-pang from that store before going home,” Tiffany showed the paper bag, “Do you want to try?”

“It’s delicious,” Jessica finally speaks, “Anyway, how are you? It’s so long.”

“Yeah, I’m fine,” Taeyeon inhaled heavily, she prepared to say this after 18 years, “Congratulation with your marriage with Taecyeon. I hope you are happy ever after.”

The last sentence from Taeyeon makes the two women after her shocked; even Tiffany gaped and Jessica wider her eyes

Taeyeon still had her questioned eyes but Jessica took Tiffany’s hand and walked away from Taeyeon

“Oppa,” Taeyeon asked her brother who just turned the TV off

“Hm?” Jiwoong settled on his seat again, waiting for Taeyeon to join him at couch

“I want to ask something,” Taeyeon scrubs her nape, “About Jessica.”

“Yeah? Maybe if you need more information, you can ask Nana.”

“If this can’t be answered. What happened with Jessica’s marriage?”
