“Where is Taeyeon, by the way?” Yuri asked Jessica, who frequently bore a hole to her phone. When the latter shook her head meekly, Yuri knows something wrong must have happened before

“Ah, is Taeyeon your new girlfriend?” Nicole, Hyoyeon’s wife, asked. After they married, both Nicole and Hyoyeon still keep in contact with Jessica

“Yeah,” Jessica smiled, “We had some arguments last week. Today would be the first time I will meet her after a week, but I guess she’s busy.”

“She doesn’t even read your message, does she?” Tiffany whispered, and Jessica responded with a nod

“No idea,” Jessica sighed; what happened actually?

Jessica tries to call Taeyeon continuously after lunch with her friends ended. Yuri offered to drive into Taeyeon’s house because Jessica said that she took a day off today, but Jessica refused

“Where the hell is she?” Jessica leaned her head back. It’s already late when she realized that Taeyeon is missing for the whole day

“What’s wrong, Mom?” Jaehyun asked and took a seat beside his mother. He saw a formed dent between her eyebrows; he’s sure that she’s upset over something

“Nothing, just…” Jessica exhaled heavily. She usually talks about her suitors to Jaehyun, since being together with Jessica means being together with Jaehyun. At this time, Jessica feels like Jaehyun is growing too fond enough with Taeyeon. Still, somehow, Jessica is confused with the sudden change.

“Taeyeon refused to talk to me today,” said Jessica

“Is there anything wrong?”

“I have no idea,” Jessica closed her eyes, trying to remember their encounters if that would be the reason why Taeyeon is missing today

“You guys seemed okay before.”

“That was last week.”

“I see,” Jaehyun nodded, “Maybe something came up on the bakery. Let’s eat, I’m hungry,” he pouted while rubbing his tummy. Jessica only chuckled seeing her only son behave like a five-year-old child; it’s been a long journey with Jaehyun, but she managed it

“Come on. I’ll cook something,” Jessica pats Jaehyun’s head before walks to the kitchen. Seeing the sad figure of her mother, Jaehyun quickly pulled her mother for a hug

“Mommy, everything will be alright. I promise. I will make it okay.”

Jessica smiled at his words. Her son is mature enough; she doesn’t feel alone again

“Thank you, Jaehyun-ah,” Jessica caresses Jaehyun’s hair, “Thank you for being here. Thank you for making me strong all the time. I love you so much.”

Jessica decided to see Taeyeon at the bakery. The latter was really ignored her message all-day. She calculated the time when Taeyeon’s bakery is loose with the customers; it’s around 10

“Morning, Mrs. Jung,” Victoria smiled behind the cashier, “I thought Mrs. Kwon already purchased your coffee?”

“Ah, I need to see Taeyeon,” Jessica smiled. The mentioned woman extended her head from the kitchen. Taeyeon realized that she can’t run again because Jessica is standing in front of her. She motioned her to follow her into the back area, in which Jessica obeyed

“What do you want?” Jessica calmly asked, even though she wants to scream, slap her head or maybe pull her hair to make Taeyeon understand how frustrated she was

Taeyeon stays mum, but her eyes are nowhere

“Who is she?” Taeyeon finally asked

“Who?”

“The one who hugged you at the park.”

Jessica sighed, so the reason why Taeyeon disappeared at the day just because Hyoyeon hugged her

“Kim Hyoyeon, my friend.”

“She is your ex.”

“How did you?” Jessica wider her eyes; how could Taeyeon know?

“Why? Are you hiding something from me?” Taeyeon narrowed her eyes. Her tone is full of accusation

“I have no idea why you are like this!”

“Of course, you haven’t,” Taeyeon rolled her eyes, “You let herself hugged by your ex.”

“Gosh, Taeyeon,” Jessica stomped her feet. She’s frustrated because of Taeyeon

Taeyeon remains mum again; actually, she has no idea what she should talk with Jessica. Is she want a breakup? Or Taeyeon needs time for thinking?

“Say something, please…” Jessica pleaded. Her lips already trembled; but on the other side, Taeyeon’s mind went blank of this situation

“Let’s break up,” said Jessica, finally. She’s tired with Taeyeon’s quietness; she’s exhausted with Taeyeon’s attitude

“Sica, but…” and again, Taeyeon was late. Jessica already turned her heel, leaving Taeyeon rooted in her place.

Jaehyun saw Taeyeon sits alone at the park. He wants to punch her; he wants to tell her that his mother is sad because of her

But deep in his heart, he likes Taeyeon. He wants Taeyeon as a person who makes his mother happy nowadays. Taeyeon accompanied him to play basketball. Taeyeon also came with him to the game arcade. Sometimes, Taeyeon would buy some drinks for Jaehyun’s team

“You want to kill me so much, don’t you?” Taeyeon whispered. She hung her head down, but she can see Jaehyun already stands tall in front of her with a clenched fist

“When I saw my mother draw a tear from her eyes, I really want to run into you and punch you,” said Jaehyun, “But I can’t do it.”

“Why?”

“Because it would make her sadder,” Jaehyun sighed

“Then, why are you here?”

“I don’t know. Maybe it would be the last time I see you.”
