festival

Airborne

It was a hot summer day and there was a festival in town. Jonghyun and a couple of his friends decided to go there and have some fun, like every other nineteen year old they were planning on getting drunk and hit some clubs afterwards.

It was really warm outside so their attires consisted of shorts and loose t-shirts, it was probably going to be really crowded at the festival.
It was a bit passed noon when they arrived there, laughing and having fun, going to some boots to drink or play games. People were having a great time with their family or friends there and everybody was smiling.

It was summer vacation and no one had to go to work, so they could all stay till the late hours of the day and go partying afterwards. The festival was situated nearby a big lake where people could swim and play in the water if they wanted to.
Even though it was summer vacation, Jonghyun had to study while everybody had two months of no school or work.
He knew from the very start that pilot training was very hard, and if he didn't pass the exams he was studying for he wouldn't obtain his private pilot's license, and he was desperate to get that license so that he could start his next studies to get his IFR rating.

His friends had been able to talk him over and hang out with them the day of the festival, they told him he was too tense and had to loosen up a bit, forget his stupid pilot dream for just one day and have fun.
He gave in after a lot of hesitance, but couldn't be any more thankful afterwards because if it weren't for them, he would've never met the love of his life.

The sun was already beginning to set and Jonghyun and his friends were seated at a table next to the lake. They were oggling girls in bikini's who were swimming and laughing in the water. Little, twinkling lights were decorating the trees that were lined up at the edge of the lake, giving a magical feeling to the water that reflected the light.

Jonghyun averted his eyes for a second, noticing a slender boy making his way to the edge of the lake, crouching down and putting his hands in the water.

"Kibum !" He heard someone call from behind him, he turned around and saw two parents standing at one of the boots.
He saw how the blonde boy turned around, his mind going numb for a second to take in the beauty. How was it even possible to be that gorgeous.
There were big blue eyes, soft blonde locks and the most perfect, pretty face of all time, it made Jonghyun weak in the knees.

"Hey, look at that kid," He nudged his friend's elbow, eyes still locked on the teenager who was waving at --Jonghyun assumed, were his parents, even though they didn't look alike at all.
The little lampions in the trees illuminated his pretty face, big, blue eyes coming in clear sight as their eyes locked.
The boys tore their gazes off the girls and instead took a look at the teenager who slowly turned around to face the water again, showing them his back.
"What's there to see ?" They asked Jonghyun, clearly uninterested.

Jonghyun couldn't take his eyes off the other's backside, scanning his slim figure up and down.
"Ew Jjong, stop staring at him like that," One of his friends said in disgust, throwing him a grossed out look but Jonghyun ignored him, eyes raking over the younger boy's body. It felt wrong, but so right at the same time.

"Yeah, you look like an old erted man, stop it, he's like -- ten or something," They joked. Jonghyun ignored them, hoping for the young boy to turn around again so that he could admire that pretty face. He was completely and utterly engrossed by the other's beauty, even though he was only a teenager, hell, he could even still be in middle school.

Jonghyun didn't care though, his legs were long and slim, his waist was small and his tummy was flat. He was fairly skinny, but once his eyes reached his face again he couldn't help but put it somewhere at the back of his head and drown in those big, blue eyes.

He could hear his friends gushing over one of the girls' s, trying not to be too obvious but miserably failing as Jonghyun saw that one of the girls was looking their way, pulling her friends to the other side of the lake.
Jonghyun glued his gaze back on the blonde, silently praying for him to turn around again.

"Jonghyun, stop !" He heard one of his friends laugh, throwing a napkin at his head for staring at the stranger like that.
"What is he anyway, he looks Korean but why would he bleach his hair at such a young age," Another one of his friends said with a slightly annoyed tone, "Kids these days," He shook his head, making the other boys laugh.

Jonghyun ignored them, heart beating fast against his rib cage when he noticed the boy turning around.
"Wait, are those blue eyes ?" He heard one of the guys say, leaning forward to get a closer look at the boy who was slowly making his way to the booth where his parents were standing.
Jonghyun couldn't help but notice how elegant he was, how swiftly he moved, like he didn't weigh more than a pound and instead of walking, glided over the surface of earth like a light, little feather.
He flipped his blonde hair out of his eyes, sighing a little and passing them by, trying not to make eye contact.
"Why would you wear colour contacts at such a young age ?" His friends said, watching the young boy walk by.

There was a gasp from another one of the guys at the table, "That , are you sure that's a boy ?"
All of them turned their heads at him with narrowed eyes, giving him a foul look, "Ew, you're gross, of course that's a boy,"

Jonghyun turned around, watching how the blonde was standing next to his parents.
He sighed, how was it even possible to be that beautiful.
His attention went back to his friends and how they were back to gushing about the girls who were in the lake before they began oggling them and scared them off, laughing and drinking. However, Jonghyun wasn't really joining the conversation, his mind wandering off to the pretty angel he just saw. He couldn't help but turn around again to steal a last glance at the blonde boy, but much to his disappointed, the boy and his parents had already disappeared.

He rubbed his face with the palm of his hand, sighing exaggeratedly and trying to get rid of the pretty face that kept flashing before his eyes.
It was just a teenage boy, how could a teenage boy possibly have such an impact on him. He felt like a total ert.

A couple of hours later they were wandering through the crowd of people. The plan was to hit some clubs and pick up some girls, all of them already slightly drunk as they bumped into passers-by.
They stumbled onto the pavement when they managed to reach the exit of the festival, all of them laughing loudly as people shot them annoyed looks.

Jonghyun was least drunk of them all, pulling at the guys' clothes to help them up as they began walking away from the festival, it was nearly midnight and there were going to be fireworks, it was actually a shame they left before the fireworks even started. It was only normal though, for drunken, teenagers to not care about sparkly fireworks anymore.
There was loud thumping of music around the corner and Jonghyun's friends began to stroll down the street like mosquitos attracted to light.
He didn't bother to look how late it already was when he heard the loud crackling of explosions behind their backs, a beautiful kaleidoscope of colours blooming in the pitch black night sky.
However, the drunk boys, except for Jonghyun, didn't take note of it and instead kept dragging their already worn out bodies to the thumping bass of the music.

Jonghyun was staring at the ground while walking, not paying any attention to his friends who were stumbling ahead of him and how they were shouting at someone in the distance. "Hey you, blondie !"

The boy's head shot up at the last word, squinting his eyes into the dark to try and distinguish his surroundings. The dim streetlights and the ongoing fireworks illuminated the deserted street, creating enough light for him to notice that it wasn't just an ordinary blondie they were shouting at, but the same, angelic boy from at the festival.
His elegant body was standing right beneath a street lamp, his pale skin was beautiful and the blonde locks were more than enchanting.
He was holding a cellphone in his small hands, but his attention went to the bunch of guys in front of him.

His heart instantly began to thump louder in his chest, he could hardly hear the music of the club around the corner anymore.
The organ was rattling against his ribcage when their eyes locked, deep blue eyes boring into his own brown ones as if he tried to tell him something.
There was something tugging at his chest, his mouth was dry and eyes enlarged. He didn't even notice his hands were trembling and knees were going weak until he heard one of his drunk friends shout something at the poor, innocent boy again, "This guy thinks you have a nice !"

He pointed at one of the other boys who had thought he was a girl, but he seemed unfazed by the fact his friend had just embarrassed him in front of the beautiful stranger, who gave them disgusted looks.
Instead, his friends turned around and pointed at him. He already felt himself getting weaker and weaker in the knees.
"And he can't stop staring at you," His friend shouted, and at this point he really had the urge to punch him in the face.
All the guys nodded their heads vigorously, laughing and bumping against each other as they started walking again, heading for the club.
The blonde boy was just staring at him when his friends left him there, he wasn't able to walk away. That's how engrossed he was in the other's beauty. Besides, his legs didn't allow him anyway.

It felt as if he was glued to the ground, staring into the other's eyes like they'd known each other for years. It didn't look like the boy was going to walk away either. Jonghyun assumed he was probably waiting for someone out there.

The boy took a few steps closer to the edge of the street, slowly making his way out of the bundle of light. By now the fireworks had stopped as well, now only the loud music and people chatting away somewhere in the distance filling the silent street. And of course his heart, that was still uncontrolably clashing against his inner organs.
It took a couple of seconds before the blonde boy was somewhere in the middle of the street, close enough so that they didn't have to shout to hear one another.

"That's creepy, you know," It was the first time Jonghyun heard his voice, and it was as soft and gentle as his features. Those four words sounding like a beautiful melody, it flowed into his ears and tickled his eardrums. It was so sweet yet so dangerous, the presence of the boy had such a big impact on him, it wasn't normal anymore.

"What ?" Jonghyun dared to ask, his own voice low and shaky.

"That what your friends just said about you,"

It took a while before Jonghyun came back to his senses, his brain catching up with reality when he noticed that the boy had taken a few steps closer to him. Jonghyun gulped.

"B-but I'm n-not -- I wa-wasn't st-staring at --" He was cut off by a soft giggle. It was totally unexpected but it was the cutest, most adorable thing he had ever heard.

"It's okay," He laughed, thin fingers brushing his blonde bangs out of his eyes, "but I'm fourteen, so you really don't want to corrupt a minor, now do you ?"

The seductive smile that was spread across the younger boy's made Jonghyun swallow hard, it seemed that the teenager wasn't that innocent at all.
He couldn't help but let out a shaky breath, smiling gently and trying to act as if he wasn't shocked at all by what he just said.
"I'm nineteen," He dared to say, confidence starting to build inside of him as he tried to push all of the weakness that the boy had caused him aside, "and too young to go to jail,"

He didn't realise he had just indirectly admitted that he had indeed his eye on the stranger, until the boy's blue eyes tripled a little in size, the sly smile immediately faltering. Jonghyun wanted to smack himself, quickly squeezing his eyes shut and pulling his bottom lip between his teeth.

"I-I'm sorry, I di-didn't mean t-to --" He sighed. He wasn't getting anywhere with stuttering and being shy.

"Look, I'm not trying anything or something," Jonghyun tried to explain, managing to put on his serious face. He really didn't want to scare the boy off.

He cautiously watched the young boy shyly shifting his feet, blue eyes trying to look anywhere but at Jonghyun and the older boy really couldn't blame him for it.
"My name's Jonghyun, by the way," He wanted to come over as mature, and not as an old sick ert or a stuttering, shy high school girl.

The blonde's head shot up, blonde bangs slightly covering his beautiful eyes, "Kibum," He said softly, shyly.
A pretty name for a pretty boy, Jonghyun thought, the smallest smile of all time managing its way on his plump lips.
He looked at Kibum for a second, smile widening when their eyes met. "Nice to meet you,"
