--One: Welcome to the Elyxion Academy

            To the Elyxion Academy.

            The words are written on the old-rotten wood in the deep of the forest, with nothing near them. In front of the sign board, a brunette let out a deep sigh. When he stated that he want to go to the Academy, the image of luxurious and magnificent castle came into his mind.

            But-

“I don’t understand, the brochure said that the Academy is build long-long time ago. It should be something great and luxurious and-“ he started but interrupted by the next boy

“It also stated that the Academy is only for them who could not control their power yet. To be honest, I don’t imagine that to be something luxurious. Come on Baek, just don’t be Baekhyun”

A brunette rolled his eyes when murmured “I am Baekhyun” and continued “-but in the middle of forest is a bit-“

“Just find the academy, or we will be doomed” the other said sternly

            Baekhyun just didn’t understand his friend, named Jongdae, and his spilt-personality. They are childhood friends, and always have been the trolls in the group. It is safe to say that they are partner in crime, but at the time like this, when the anxiety of being lost in the middle of forest, came, the next boy became stern and creepy at the same time. No rooms for jokes, means no room for blabbing Baekhyun. So the latter only shrugged his shoulder and followed his best friend from behind.

            Nothing is good when they came both together, it always have been like that and Baekhyun just realized it by now. By the time he is turning fifteen and all people around him have already developed their power, Baekhyun knew there is something wrong with him. But nobody minds that, thought that Baekhyun is only one of those poor people who does not have a power. Well, he didn’t care though. His friend, Jongdae, is also not showing any progress of having power so he thought it is not bad after all.

            However, when they realized that their power only come late, and by the term ‘late’ means they are ten years slower than the others, they are having a panic attack. It is only natural that Jongdae’s parents suggested them to go to The Elyxion Academy. Where uncontrollable learn how to control their power properly, they said. So then they agreed. Late at the first day of admissions day is not in the agenda, and here they are, doomed in the middle of forbidden forest.

“We should look for a shelter” Baekhyun finally said, giving up with the condition of his weak legs and night vision

“In case you do not get it, we are looking for it” Jongdae said in annoyance, panic is still in the veins as he seems frightened

Baekhyun sighed, unable to stand this panic any longer “There. We can stay at there for a night. A cave does not sound that bad compared here”

“But the Academy-“ Jongdae frowned

“-can wait. Look Jongdae, we need help. The academy is probably hidden with some magic or else. I am sure that we already pass this path several times and now, I, scratch that, we, need to rest. Just listen to me this time, Jongdae, trust me. We will find a way tomorrow” and with that said, Jongdae nodded, following Baekhyun behind

            The cave is not that bad actually. The rain has pouring as soon as they arrived and no one said it but they feel relieved that they found a cave. After hours of walking, they realized it is easy to sleep on the hard rock. In seconds, they already fell deep in the slumber despite the nonstop of thunder and lightning.

“I can not see, you know”

“What-“

“I think they wake-“

“Look! Uhm, class rep-“

“Yes?”

            There are several voices near them and soon he is welcomed by three pairs of wondering eyes. Baekhyun gasped, felt a bit scared of the people in front of them but soon to be relaxed when he noticed the emblem on the same uniform they wears. The Tree of Life that is The Elyxion Academy’s emblem.

“Oh my God, Kim Jong- Chen, Wake up! We found it! We found them!” he screamed, shaking the said man with much force that the guests were surprised and moved backwards quietly

“What is it Baek, Im not deaf, stop screaming” Jongdae mumbled between his sleep and finally shot his eyes open when saw that they are not the only one there “Elyxion Academy!” they both were clapping and skipping together not really realizing that their guest is smiling with them

“I guess that we finally found the missing students, class rep-” the first one whispered

Suho, the class reprensentative, smiled and nodded “Let’s back to the Academy”

“-and here is your room. I am sorry you could not share the room with one-another because of the Academy’s policy but you will meet your roommates soon, don’t worry, you will get together fast. My name is Kim Joonmyun, the student representative, but I prefer Suho, ask me anything you need and I will help you as much as I can. My room is in the corner of this floo-“ he stop at the grinning duos in front of him and sighed, they won’t listen to him “You could rest for now, but please meet me in an hour” he sighed again and wait until the boys replied him before go back to his room

            They are so adorable, fits perfectly in this boring academy. He thought.

“I could not believe it, we really get here! Tell me Baek, how did you know that it has some kind of magic to hidden this magnificent Academy? I swear I saw Joon, or whoever him, is doing something with his hand and suddenly the Academy is appeared out of nowhere” Jongdae screamed, back to his normal personality, practically tortured Baekhyun’s ears

“I don’t even know myself. But you know what? We are finally here! Come to my room, let’s celebrate it, we- oh, sorry, I don’t know there is someone else here” Baekhyun felt his face is reddened up and he did not know what to do next

Jongdae is behind him, not knowing what was happened and pushed Baekhyun into the room and asked “What is happened? I think you want me to come to your room, why you block- oh, I am sorry. I did not- but nice body by the way” he let out some awkward smile, knowing that he just did something bad

            See, nothing is good when they are together.

            In front of them, if magical creatures do still exist, Baekhyun thought he is an angel, stand a half- tall man, not to mention his complete set of abs, with a ball of red wine hair, milky skin and a pair of fire orb eyes piercing into them. Baekhyun gulped, thinking some excuse to run because the man in front of him is surely not his match –or Jongdae­.

“I-I-“

“You must be the missing students” the fire orb eyes are gone in seconds, replaced by a pair of brown eyes that looks angelic for Baekhyun

“N-named is B-Baekhyun. Y-you can call me B-Baek, if you w-want” he does not know from where the nervousness came from, perhaps from the deep-husky voice or simply the fact that the man in front of him is still standing half-

            But the grinning Jongdae is absolutely annoying. He thought.

“I am Jongdae, call me Chen!” Jongdae invited for the shake hands but the man in front of him shrugged apologizing

“I am not touching. Fire everywhere. Sorry” he mumbled before spreading his wide smile “Mine is Chanyeol, call me anything, I don’t have nickname” he said “-and which one of you is my roommate, if I may ask?”

            Jongdae kept grinning like an idiot before pushing Baekhyun into Chanyeol who gasped in shock and jump backwards. His dumb friend already forgot about Chanyeol’s statement of not touching. Thanks to his friend now he fell flat on the floor. That scene made Jongdae laughed even louder.

“I am sorry. I can’t help you, my power is-” he heard Chanyeol mumbled

“It’s okay, not your fault” Baekhyun rolled his eyes before smacking Chen real hard “Back to your room, I don’t even want to face you right now, you stupid-head”

“Aww, already cast me out after finding your hot roommate? I mean his power is fire, if I am not wrong, right? You are literally sending heat all over you” Jongdae could not stop teasing, already get another hit on his head and frowned

            -but still grinning.

“I hate you, shut up” Baekhyun mouthed before pushing the said man out of his room and turned back just to find his roommate is busying himself with his shirt “Sorry for that, Jongdae is something, I hope you will understand. Chanyeol, right? Here is listed as my room, then I am your roommate” Baekhyun explained “Well, we practically will live together here. How should I address you? How old are you?” he added, rubbing his forehead hoping that will be no bruise after the incident

            That is a normal question actually. As stated before, The Elyxion Academy is a centuries academy, is old but magnificent, is where the uncontrollable learn, or for their cases the late to learn. It is only normal that the grade is not based on their age. Jongdae and Baekhyun may be in the same age, just because they are childhood friends. But this man, who is absolutely taller than him, may be years older.

“I am nineteen soon” the man answered “Is that hurt?”

            Baekhyun’s jaws dropped.

            Nineteen? Which mean they are in the same age? I mean, he is young, yes. But he is taller, manlier, handsome, not to the mention that complete set of abs. Chanyeol is turning nineteen soon, which mean, Baekhyun is months older than him. He is doomed, he knew.

“It must be hurt. If only I could help you. Ah, I knew someone with healing power, name is Yixing. How about we go there and check your condition. Hm, Baek-?”

Baekhyun shook his head fast and started to feel dizzy afterwards, then said “No need to. I mean, I will gladly meet him, but not now. The class representative asked me to meet him in an hour. It is just a little bruise, I am fine, thank you” he added with a small smile and Chanyeol nodded

            Alright, it is awkward.

            Nobody said anything after that. Thus, Baekhyun started to unpack his belongings next to the king-sized bed that he knew they would shared together. Without much trouble, he is finished in fifteen minutes. He still has forty five minutes and decided to take a shower. He will never get used to the luxury in his new room. The shower only took five minutes and now, he sat on the bed, staring blankly on the chandelier, not doing anything.

            Chanyeol is typically a quiet person, he does not say much and Baekhyun feel bored suddenly. It will be best if he just visits Jongdae’s room but glancing every second to the man beside him is not that bad actually, he enjoys that. This man is totally his type and Baekhyun should refrain himself for drooling over the said man.

            -and it is really awkward when their eyes meet.

Baekhyun gulped, knowing that he is in the crisis of telling the man how gorgeous he is “I-“

“What is your power?” Chanyeol asked, felt the same pressure as they both staring at each other “Mine is fire. I control them, more like, making them out of void with both hands, like this-“ he clapped his hands and stretched them slowly, the fire ball suddenly appeared between his hand and he smiled, proud of the results of his power “I control them. Even that is not that much” he added and with a swift move, the fire is gone “I feel the heat, yes. But they said that my palm is appeared between my super sensitive reaction with the heat and that is why I may not touch anyone or I may burn them alive” he laughed awkwardly

Baekhyun chuckled at the presentation, his turned “Light” he said while raising his fist up to his face and open it slowly, concentrated a little and a blinding ball of light appeared out of nowhere but it comes off immediately, making the owner frowned “It does not appear longer than five seconds. I just got it five months ago on my birthday. Jongdae is worse, he got it one month ago, and his power is lightning. It is dangerous every time he felt emotional, the lightning came out of nowhere” he added, not noticed the other has widened his eyes

“Five months ago? And you are-“

“Nineteen years old. Yeah I know. That is why we are here. A newbie you may say”

            Everyone is having their power at ten years old, but now he is, nothing much to say.

“Nah it’s okay. I think I am worse then. I got it when I was eight” Baekhyun widened his eyes at the difference gap between them and Chanyeol continued “-but I could not even have full control of them yet”

“Does it mean that you never touch anyone after eight?” Baekhyun could not stop himself to ask and Chanyeol nodded casually

“I burn my dog accidentally and after that, I never touch anything, more like any living creatures”

“Oh my God, I am sorry!” Baekhyun felt bad about that and Chanyeol shrugged his shoulder

“It is been eleven years ago, I think I may forget that. Nah, that sounds better, I guess? Having late power is much better than late controlling. It is dangerous, as you said before about your friend”

            Baekhyun felt bad about the topic and the other does the same so they change the topic.

“And why are you coming late, if I may know?” Chanyeol asked, silently close the space between them and sit up

“Jongdae” he said sternly “Nothing is good happened when we came together. We miss the last bus to here and then we late. Nobody knew where the Academy is. We lost our hope but still tried though. Then rain started pouring and we don’t have a choice except stay under the cave. Long story short, class representative found us and we are finally here” Baekhyun answered quickly

“You come here with a bus?” Chanyeol asked in surprised

“-and I thought everyone here came with a bus?” Baekhyun stated, more like asking when the latter shook his head smoothly

“No one came to here with a Bus, Baek-“ Chanyeol said and added “Let me correct it, no one even know the Academy is still exist. You came here with your friend is perhaps connected with something. The Academy is located deep in the forest. It is dangerous, no one ever come to here. Mostly because they do not think this Academy is still exist. It is hidden by magic, and I must say, you are lucky when the class representative found you” he explained

Baekhyun could not hide his dropping jaw, suddenly realized the trouble they just made, he stuttered “B-but the brochure said that-”

            Chanyeol raise his eyebrows when Baekhyun suddenly jumped from his place to grab something from his bag. A sheet of paper is confronted on his face. He narrowed his eyes and looked clearly at the paper. It is clearly not something made by the Academy.

“Where did you get it?” he asked

“My apartment” Baekhyun answered to quickly and changed his answer seconds later “I mean, my house. Same with Jongdae. It is thrown out in front of our house as if we need them. After finding out that we have uncontrollable power, the paper come out of nowhere. They said that we will learn how to control our power here, nothing more nothing less. Thus, we come here as located in the map. But, like I said before, we found nothing. I thought that we late at the ceremony or whatever party the academy has. We are doomed, in the middle of forest and safe at the next day by the class representative”

            Once again, Chanyeol narrowed his eyes and looked at the so called brochure.

“Can I take a look?”

“Of course you can, here” Baekhyun said and give the brochure to the man who immediately scanning the brochure

            The door is suddenly opened, startling them, and the image of the annoying Jongdae come to their door. Someone is behind them, a short man with a pair of owl eyes. Chanyeol knew him, as they are in the same class after all. Baekhyun gulped at the face, the man seems scary but seeing Jongdae has the gut to act childish in front of the new man made Baekhyun realized that the new man has no harm. Then the smell of something burning filled the room.

“Wow, did you just showing us your power?!” Jongdae could not help but shouted at the scene and Baekhyun turned his back to look at something burned on Chanyeol’s hand

“I- am sorry. I did not mean it. It is just happened, and-“ the said man is stuttered, clearly shock at his own action

“Nah it is okay. We do not need that anymore” Baekhyun said nicely

“What is that?” Jongdae asked and when Baekhyun clean the evident of something burned on his new friend’s hand

“The brochure” he answered casually

“The brochure? The one and only brochure we had to get here? Too bad, Kyungsoo just asked me to see that. I am sorry Kyungsoo, this new friend here just burn that” Jongdae immediately turned to the short man and said apologetically

“I am sorry, I am just surprised and that is happened fast” Chanyeol said

Baekhyun rolled his eyes and added “It is your fault Jongdae, to come here and make a scene. You can just knock before entering someone’s room”

“Well, I will not promise you that one. By the way, here, let me introduce you to my new roommate. Name is Kyungsoo. And Kyungsoo, this is my mom, Baekhyun”

“I will be dead to have son like you” Baekhyun hissed and smiled at the new man “nice to meet you. I am sorry for you for having a roommate like him”

“Yah, what is wrong with me? I am a genius!”

“Nice to meet you too, I am Kyungsoo, one year younger than all of you. Should I call you hyung, then?”

“Are you our senior? I don’t think you need to call us hyung, knowing that we are the newbie here” Baekhyun frowned but the new man smiled

“No, we are in the same class actually. I just asked Jongdae about that and he said that both of you are accepted in special class with me”

“How did you know?” Baekhyun asked Jongdae, the latter shrugged

“One of them said that, I just happened to eavesdropped them”

“You mean the class representative?” Baekhyun asked and the other nodded

“Are we talking about Suho hyung here? Wait. Are you in the special class too?” Chanyeol asked and Jongdae nodded

            Something seems funny here but Chanyeol decided to let it go.

“Thus made us four in the same class, I guess?” he smirked happily, surprised Baekhyun at how gorgeous his smile is

“Eh?”

            The Elyxion Academy is located in the middle of forest, hidden by some magic for blocking those un-wanted creatures. No one ever heard about the Academy in centuries and they thought that the Academy itself is long gone. However, two lost boys are just happened to hear about the Academy from some mysterious brochure that stated the exact location of the Academy. It must be fate, or something they called wicked plan. Harm or not, the one who sent the brochure has a plan and Suho did not like a bit about that.

            A week ago, a paper is slipped on his window’s room. No one is sharing the room with the class representative, and he by heart knew that the paper is sent to him. So, without suspicious, he took the paper and read the message, written in some mess handwriting.

“The new students are coming for special class, take them” he read

            His eyebrows furrowed. No one mess with The Elyxion. Thus, he went to the Principal office and let the news spread. The Principal asked him to keep the message as a secret but the news about having new students could not be kept. The first one who knew is his friend, Minseok. They both work under the pincipal to search those new students because they know that The Elyxion is not something that can be found easily. Not to mention the forest is dangerous place for almost everyone.

“Work with Luhan. He is the most stable one here beside he is Minseok’s roommate. I do not want any of you get hurt, just stay safe. Understand?” the Principal, Yunho, asked

            Suho nodded, departing as soon as the Principal’s order ends. They lost hope after six days of searching, but at the next day, they found them. At first, Suho thought that no one would safe from that horrible storm, but who could he lied. The storm is dangerous, yes, not to mention those frightened thunder and heavy rain that only happened that day only. He has the power of controlling water but work under those circumstances is absolutely impossible. But then, they found them.

            Sleep tightly on the hard rock with a layer of cloth as the blanket and a bag as the pillow, they seems harmless. Minseok and Luhan tried to figure them first and suddenly one of them shoot his eyes open and the scene is happened. After hearing the new men’s short celebration, Suho knew something is wrong. Something is definitely not in his track and he need to find out.

            He let the men have a rest before sending himself to his room.

“Are you sure you gonna let them live here?” Luhan, the one with sparkling eyes asked

“The forest is dangerous” Suho answered annoyingly at his friend’s heartless question

“They are safe in that horrible storm” Luhan stated the fact but shrugged his shoulder, not knowing what is wrong with his attitude

“Are you gonna let them live in the forest? And lost?” Suho did not believe his own voice after hearing this, but Minseok has the argument done

“Stop you guys” the third guy said “Luhan is right, they are safe from those horrible storm means they are strong enough to survive, but that does not mean we will leave them there, Lu” he added at the-now-frowned-guy “For what I heard, they just found their power. They are new. And the Principal said that we need to keep them. Just do whatever the Principal said”

“Sometimes I think that you are the leader” Luhan blurted out, did not care if the man next to him felt offended

            But Luhan is being Luhan and he is heartless by the way.

“-just because I am the oldest. And stop the argument, you know that he does not mean that, Suho” Minseok explained patted Suho’s shoulder to ease the latter a little bit

“Let me ask you again, you lost the brochure?” Suho asked, as soon as the new boy come to his room, he sensed something is wrong

            Minseok sat beside him, reminded him to keep calm so he could not do anything besides sighed deeply. Meanwhile Luhan is not paying any attention to them and started to play the rubik’s cube even before the new boys come into the room. The said boys, actually felt a little scared with the class representative, have their face down to floor.

“It is okay, not your fault, relax guys. Mind to tell us, what is actually happened then? By now, I assumed that your roommate is already told you about the Academy. No one came here with a bus, and we are actually as clueless as you are so we need some enlightenment here” Minseok said softly with an angelic smiled plastered on his face

            -too much sugar in it.

            Jongdae thought at the moment but definitely not in the mood of flirting.

“I- will” Jongdae cleared his throat and elbowed Baekhyun to do the same “Let me introduce myself first. My name is Kim Jongdae, I prefer Chen. He is Byun Baekhyun-“ Baekhyun let out a little ‘hi’ and Jongdae continued “I know it is normal to have power around ten, but we are kind of late. We are practically labeled as powerless, until, well- four months ago, the boys beside me suddenly glowing after blowing his nineteen birthday candles”

Jongdae looked at the fake-smiled Suho to the angelic-smiled Minseok and decided to look at the latter “-and me is happened one month ago. Power is lightning, every time I got a little emotional, the lightning came out of nowhere. Thus we were panicked with the sudden change of our body. People keep saying that is normal, but Baekhyun always wake up with a glow on his body and I always heard lightning every time I laugh over bit. We decided that is not normal” he explained

This is the part the senior wait the most, so Jongdae take a long inhale before continued “That night, I could not sleep so I keep telling mom about the power. She tried to make me keep calm because lightning would alwayas came out everytime I felt emotional and she does not want her neighbor to get struck by a random lightning, definitely. Well, I stop talk to her when I heard noises. Someone knocking on our door and when I open the door, I meet no one, only that a brochure with the map behind the paper. Baekhyun has another story but that is practically similiar”

“It stated that the Academy is located in the middle of forest. There is a date of first admission and some background of the Academy. The brochure made the Academy looks as normal as another school with dormitory inside. We did some research on the internet, it does not help much actually but we are in crisis and finally decided to take a look”

“-and after hours of searching, I was panicked” he stop for a moment to mumble something like ‘the storm’ and ‘the lightning’ and continued in more coherent words “The guy here found out that the Academy is not something that would be found easily, probably hidden by some magic to prevent it from danger, and there, we found a cave. We stay that for hours before driven to deep slumber and you found us” he ended the story with a long-deep-exhale

            Three seniors, scratch that, the two seniors in front of them widened their eyes, Luhan still playing his rubik’s cube. It made sense. Suho thought for a moment, but something still seems wrong. He elbowed Minseok who has the same expression with him.

“C-could you please show us your power?” Suho asked to the two boys in front of him

            Baekhyun nodded. He fisted his hand in front of his face and opened up slowly, doing the same action in his room before. It is not that difficult for him knowing that is already four months after he got the power. However, maintain the light for seconds is something different and he let out a deep sigh before apologizing to the senior with a small smile.

“I could not maintain it for more than five seconds” he said “-and still wake up with the same glowing body every morning” he added with a blush

“That is because your power is overwhelming on your body, they need to be release, but you could not just control it yet” Suho explained giving a little courage to the boy and look at the other “How about you?” he asked

“I-“ Jongdae seems doubted “-are you sure you want me to show my power? No one ever asked that before” he said shyly “Y-you know, lightning is dangerous” he added

“I get it, you are afraid with your own power?” this time Minseok concluded and saw the cheerful boy in front of him being nodded slowly made him want to hug him and say that is okay

            -the perks of being the oldest and the most understanding people.

“Here, take a look” Minseok suddenly get an idea

            Suho looked at Minseok with disagree looks and Luhan started to pay attention to the scene. He threw the finished rubik’s cube on the table and crossed his hand with a smile drew on his face. He will clearly enjoy whatever show Minseok has. Meanwhile Baekhyun open his jaw with an ‘Aww’ when Minseok giving a demo about his power and Jongdae just could not stop looking at the senior.

            At first, Minseok just smiled in front of the clueless new boys. Then the temperature went sickly down and the room became so cold. Suho stood up and decided to take a little distance with the man next to him. As if that is a clue, Baekhyun pull Jongdae to stand up and do the same.

“Lightning is dangerous, you could just struck by them and get injured in the nick of time” Minseok said “-but, did you think frost, my power, could not do the same?” he asked the question directly to Jongdae who nodded absentmindedly

            They started to rub their hand because the insanely cold temperature. Minseok continued, opened up his palm to form beautiful ice crystal that flew centimeters away above his hands. He smiled again, that is not so angelic, but somehow Jongdae still felt the same vibes.

“-and now you think this little thing couldn’t hurt you. Yes, it could. That is the job of my ice crystal actually, to make you bleed. My weapon. My power. Wanna have a try?” he added with a smirk that amused a heartless Luhan

“Seriously, you want to hurt a new student? That is insane!” Luhan shout, totally into the show

            Luhan is not a bad guy, he just like the show, big fans of fighting scene.

“You are insane, Lu. Start seeing a doctor, would you?” Suho whispered, clearly not getting any replied from the other

            At that time, the clueless boys seems not getting anything. Baekhyun start to panicked, he hid behind Jongdae who, actually, could not move because he fell deeply in shock with the change of his favorite seniors. Meanwhile the ice crystal formed bigger and whirled around above Minseok’s hand. He snapped out of his thought and started to panic.

            But soon the ice is vanished, replaced by a water splash. Minseok is now drenched in the water with a giggle while Luhan is frowning deeply, hit Suho’s shoulder lightly.

“Yah, you ruin the show!” Luhan shouted

“You ruin the boys” Suho mumbled at the crossed-hands Luhan “Stop it Minseok, they are scared”

“You know that he will not hurt a cat” Luhan rolled his eyes, back to his rubik’s cube

Minseok chuckled, drenched in the water but still attractive, “-but that is not the point. Power could hurt. Ice crystal would bleed you, water would drown you, fire would burn you, earth would swallow you, but that is not what I want to show you. Despite the disaster, they help you. You must not afraid of your own power because the same power is your own self-shield”

            At that Minseok pointed Jongdae who form a sparks few centimeters around him. It does not hurt him, the electricity form a shield that seems like destruct everything that come near him. But being the newbie he is, the shield is soon vanished, leaving an ‘Aww’ Baekhyun and a shocking state Jongdae.

“That is so cool!” Baekhyun proclaimed, patting Jongdae “Will my power do the same?”

“Every power will. That is why you are sent here, I thought, to train your power?” Minseok asked but a frowned Suho continued

“The question is- who sent you here? The Elyxion Academy is a private Academy. I am not being rude here, but everyone here is invited not by some random brochure. A letter, something like this-“ Suho took out an old invitation that look majestic to the boys “-with the emblem of The Academy: Tree of Life. Thus, we need that brochure to find out. Or you could help me with the description. Did you by any chance find something looks familiar with this?”

            At this time, Suho took out another paper with a weird code on it. It looks familiar. Baekhyun thought he saw them before but not in the brochure.
