You're The Reason Why.Your P.O.V
A week have passed by, Minhee and Mark were a great help and I couldn’t be more than glad, for they made the week more fun and even eased up my mission to avoid Jungkook whenever I can. But that didn’t mean I was successful all the time, as a person who’s in charge of the creative department he still had the right to come and check on the venue. And that’s when I get to feel his intense gaze that burns my soul each time Mark and I were together, which on a certain day, didn’t end well.
*Flash back*
Mark and I were having a laugh while checking some of the ideas he came up with for the venue, when all of a sudden a tight grasp yanked my wrist and pulled me towards him.
“What do you think you’re doing?” He spoke through gritted teeth and I couldn’t help the nauseous feeling, when the smell of his breath hit my nose.
“Jungkook, are you ing drunk?” I hissed quietly only for him to hear, ignoring the painful grip on my hand.
“Is everything okay?” Mark stood in front of me, a slight frown on his face while putting a slight distance between me and Jungkook, who seems to refuse to let go.
“You, stay the out of this. It doesn’t ing concern you.” The two males were having an intense staring battle between them, but Mark new better than to cause trouble, especially when he knew that the opponent was in no right condition. But right as he was about to Jungkook outside, the unthinkable happened.
My eyes widened, as well as everyone’s in the ballroom at the sight of Mark with bleeding lips hitting the ground pretty hard, I couldn’t believe that he was actually stupid enough to punch him. I rushed to his side, cupping his chin as I took a look at his chin before glaring at the male standing tall, eyes fuming and fists tightened. Normally, I wouldn’t dare mess with him in such a state, but Jeon Jungkook has crossed the line this time.
“Are you out of your mind?” I turned to glare at him only for my gaze to soften right away, the look in his eyes, sadness engulfed me as I turned away, shifting my gaze away from his. It was giving me the urge to run into his warm embrace, but I can’t… I can’t give in to him anymore. I felt a relief when I saw Jimin coming our way, but I can’t say the same about him as went to Jungkook and dragged him out of the room, as I helped Mark up... however, the look in his eyes, kept on haunting me that whole day.
*Flash Forward*
I told Minhee about my pregnancy, and she seemed to take Taehyung’s side, they even teamed up against me on more than one occasion just to get me to tell Jungkook, however; my decision would not change, after the ball means after the ball.
And to my dismay, that day finally came, it was the night of the ball and everything was perfect, I hated the fact that I couldn’t wear the gown I chose a month ago for it became tight, but Minhee had this sudden energy to choose a new one for me. And at first, I thought there would be no harm, but the moment I saw the dress I regretted it. It was a white embroided chiffon dress with plunging neckline, and you should believe me when I tell you it looked like a simple wedding dress. Because it did, even more it made my tiny bump show a bit and I just hoped that none of our elders would notice.
“You look, gorgeous!” I heard that voice I’ve been trying to avoid, but still missed despite everything. He looked dashing in his tux and I couldn’t help but stare at him for a couple of minutes, until I noticed her, standing right behind him. I just scoffed and walked away from them only to be stopped by Jungkook who grabbed my hand and looked at me with an apologetic look.
“She dropped by the office and heard about the ball, she asked if she could join us and I couldn’t say no... I’m sorry.” He said as I looked at him indifferently, slowly reaching for his hand and gently removing it from mine.
“Look Jungkook, you don’t have to explain, Sungkyung is expecting your child, and she’s part of your life now. I get it if you couldn’t say no.” I gave him a small smile and made my way towards our parents, who were all dressed in traditional attires. I couldn’t stop the bright smile once I reached them; I greeted my parents with a hug and bowed respectfully to the rest.
“Well you guys sure look amazing tonight.” I said with a giggle and they all laughed.
“So do you dear, you’re even glowing!” Mrs. Park, Jimin’s mother didn’t forget to point out with a playful smile and the rest of the mothers including mine joined her, checking my face then looking me up and down before they either gasped or squealed. Meanwhile me, I just stood there, mentally freaking out while signaling them to shut up before the men standing there caught on and ran around telling Jungkook. Thankfully, they calmed down when I glared at them; I’m really surprised at how childish our parents can be once they’re together and I must also thank Jungkook’s dad for changing the subject, but it just wasn’t a subject I was hoping for.
“So Seul is our son treating you well?” He asked and everyone looked at me while the moms went around cracking jokes like ‘I bet he’s treating her like a princess’ or ‘Of course he’s spoiling her’ And I hated it... because none of it was actually happening. I sighed and gave them a small smile before cutting in.
“Actually... We broke up.” I said and they all looked at me shocked.
“What do you mean by broke up?” My mom was the first to ask, and I can tell that she was startled but more of a bit furious.
“By broke up, I mean that everything has ended.” I looked at them and they all seemed mad, confused or disappointed, and I couldn’t help but feel so little under their gazes.
“But... Honey why? Just a few weeks ago you guys seemed happy... I was certain that everything was fine.” Mrs. Jeon asked and my eyes turned cold as soon as they landed on her, because it all started because of her.
“They broke up because I’m expecting Jungkook’s child” I heard the voice say and I turned to look at her, a smirk curved up from the corner of her lips that vanished as soon as she felt our parents eyes on her and changed into this vulnerable and fake apologetic smile. I scoffed and turned to look at our parents whose mood suddenly changed 180°. Especially Mr. Jeon... he was furious beyond imagination.
“Anyways, I’ll let you guys meet the soon-to-be mother, I’ll go check on the other guests.” I said with a small smile and walked away as soon as I could; avoiding their looks of sympathy. The ball was already full, guests from Paris and Korea gathered around and everything seemed to be going pretty well, I looked around seeing how Mark was surrounded by girls and trying hard to escape, Minhe
