Ch. 6: Into You

Ease My Mind

A/N: Hey, everyone! Sorry for late update. I’m a bit under the weather, and I also had several exams to prepare for. But, here it is!

Again, a gigantic thank you to all the new subscribers and for all the comments left on last chapter. I'm really happy that a lot of you are enjoying Sowon's character.

Also, I’m not sure if you guys happen to know, but I base each chapter title by a song title, and I even incorporate the lyrics into the story. If you’re interested in checking out the music, I made a Spotify playlist :) --- https://goo.gl/jvX1X4

Like the devotee she is, Umji kept her word and brought along three werewolf-related movies with her to school that Friday. Once school ended, she and SinB went directly to the older girl’s house.

Another note from SinB’s Umma waited on the kitchen counter along with some money for dinner. With a guest by her side, SinB decided to dismiss her silent rebellion for the time being and put the cash to good use by buying as much junk food as possible.

Carrying bags of chips, confectioneries, and soda to SinB’s room, the pair settled in and began their cinematic exploration in the lighter spectrum: Twilight: New Moon. Being the snooze-fest as it was, though, Umji mainly skipped around to the parts where werewolves were actually involved in the storyline. SinB sympathized with the main werewolf, Jacob. They were both in a similar predicament: being in love with their best friend who’s dating a conniving jerk-face.

Next, was a teen horror film called, Ginger Snaps. SinB liked how the plot was predicated on a female werewolf, but couldn’t get past all of the blood and gore that scattered on the screen at every turn. Thus, ensued more pressings of the fast forward button.

Though Umji did a terrific job as a guide by informing SinB on the meaning of “Lycanthropy” and the purposes of “wolfsbane”, SinB didn’t feel connected to any of the werewolf characters. As Umji popped in the last movie in her holster, An American Werewolf in London, SinB was starting to grow weary.

“JESUS CHRIST!”

In the movie, the main character, David, is seen reading a book on the night of a full moon. He seems calm and relaxed when suddenly the convulsions hit him like a ton of bricks. Feeling as if he were set on fire, David begins shedding his clothes. Just when SinB was sure the scene was going to pan out and fade away to when he’s fully transformed, it didn’t. Instead, David stares at his hand as it stretches, enlarging into monstrous paws. His knees hit the floor, feet starting to take shape, as well. Shoulder blades contract violently while fur consumes his body. All the while, he’s screaming in agony, terrified at the monster he’s becoming.

“HELP ME, PLEASE! HELP ME!”

“Maybe I should fast forward the scene, Unnie.” Laying on her stomach at the foot of the bed, Umji grabbed onto the remote control, squinting her eyes to find the ‘skip’ button. “I feel like I’ve scarred your mind enough for one night.”

She turned her head to look at SinB who sat with her back against the headboard. To her surprise, the older girl wasn’t squirming or using a pillow to block her vision like she did with the last film. Instead, her eyes were immersed solely at the screen. As David, fully transformed into a half-man, half-wolf beast, howled at the auroral moon, a single tear rolled down SinB’s cheek.

“Unnie,” Umji spoke, turning off the TV with the remote and moving closer to the older girl, “what’s the matter? Is the scene too scary?”

SinB slightly jolted, coming out of her hypnosis. Unaware that she was crying, she brushed the tear off her face, feeling slightly embarrassed. Shifting in her bed, she looked at a worried Umji.

“No, it’s fine, Umji-ssi,” SinB said, shaking her head and forcing out a smile for the younger girl. “I’m okay. It’s just this whole transformation scene kind of got to me. I mean, it’s not exactly identical to the way that I shift, but...I guess I just…” SinB paused trying to find the right words to express her current state of emotions.

“You felt his pain,” Umji quietly finished the older girl’s sentence.

SinB pressed her lips together and nodded her head.

Umji sat by SinB’s side in solidarity, eyes staring at the shelf filled with trophies and medals. “Yeah, I understand, Unnie. It’s one of the reasons why this movie is beloved.  Before, werewolf transformations were always so one-dimensional. Hair suddenly grows on the person’s face, arms, and legs. Fangs magically sprout. And, it’s all without the person’s knowing. But, this scene captures a certain human element that we can relate to: there’s an unbearable amount of pain lying within every monster. Sometimes, it’s so tormentous that you can’t look away.”

“How did you get into watching these kinds of things, Umji-ssi?” SinB asked, readjusting her position so that she was facing the young, yet wise neighbor.

“My Oppa is mainly responsible for my love of all things ‘weird,’” Umji replied, using her fingers to do air quotations. “He showed me my first horror movie when I was twelve. Nightmare on Elm Street. I couldn’t go to sleep for weeks. But, there was something about it which deeply resonated with me at that age. How nightmares have the ability to come true and how it takes a lot of strength and courage to overcome them.”

SinB heaved out a sigh of grief. “You’re right Umji-ssi. I’m going to need a lot of strength and courage to face a real life nightmare of mine tomorrow: a YeJu couple’s outing with Sowon as my date.” With ease, she crushed an empty soda can with her bare hand and threw it in her wastebasket.

Amidst opening the door of Contrail, the most popular teen hangout in town, SinB took out her phone to check the text message that Yerin previously sent.

Yerin: We’re sitting at the tables near the bowling lanes. Hurry, SinB-ah! Sowon is all dressed up just for you *o*

If SinB wasn’t nervous before, the text further drove her into the chasm of anxiety. Granted, she was informed of the location of their double date the night prior.

Contrail wasn’t one of the most classiest places on Earth, but it certainly had a distinct style. A bystander could always find people sporting the latest trends in hair, makeup, and clothes. It was a place that always felt reserved for the popular and the elite. Since SinB never defined herself as either one of those social statuses, walking into the dim space already crowded with teenagers who looked like they jumped out of a fashion magazine was surreal.

Hoping that she, at least, appeared presentable, SinB quickly checked her reflection on the gigantic mirrored wall at the entrance. Deciding to play it safe, she chose a form-fitting white t-shirt, black skinny jeans, and an olive green utility jacket. Hair was sleek with a slight wave at the ends.

As she scoped out the place, SinB thought about the last time she went on a date. During Junior year, in a hopeless attempt to convince herself that her feelings for Yerin was “just a phase,” SinB asked out Kim Dahyun, the cute president of the school’s yoga club. The two went on several dates. And though they found many commonalities, they lacked any pure romantic attraction. Plus, it was clear that Dahyun was much more interested in the new transfer student from Japan, Sana Minatozaki.

Unlike most girls her age, SinB never felt eager to fall in love. And, part of her reasoning was due to the contentment she had with her best friend. The same best friend who was power walking towards her at that very moment. Expression slightly annoyed, Yerin immediately grabbed a hold of SinB’s hand, guiding her to where the rest of the group was situated.

“About time you showed up, SinB-ah,” Yerin said, a tad disgruntled. “We were waiting for you for the past fifteen minutes.”

“Mianhae,” SinB apologized. “I had to take the bus since I knew I wouldn’t have enough money for the cab fare. And, besides, have you ever heard of being fashionably late, Yerin-ah?” SinB quipped with a smug grin.

“On a first date, though? I don’t think that will make a good impression.” Yerin chewed on the corner on her lip as they dodged dozens and dozens of rowdy teenagers.

SinB recognized that gesture. It was a habit Yerin formed since they were kids. Whenever the older girl was aggravated, she would continuously bite the inside of her bottom lip to quell her frustrations. SinB couldn’t help but smile. She glanced at Yerin’s outfit comprised of a white Minnie Mouse sweatshirt and red shorts and was glad that her friend also took the casual route.

From the heavy bass music playing at one end of the room to the roar of cheers caused by a successful game of billiards at the other end of the room, SinB was beginning to feel overwhelmed. Thankfully, Yerin soon stopped at their table where Yuju and Sowon awkwardly waited.

“Sowon-ssi, you have to excuse my friend for her tardiness,” Yerin spoke, giving SinB a playful glare. “But, I’ll have you know that she’s really excited to meet you!”

Sowon stood up from her chair, revealing the ensemble of clothing that Yerin deemed as noteworthy in the text message. Demeanor initially relaxed and neutral, SinB’s eyes enlarged and mouth hanged open.

“Annyeong, SinB-ssi,” Sowon greeted in the same shy schoolgirl manner that made SinB’s skin crawl.

But, the unnatural feeling was only temporary as the younger girl feasted her eyes upon Sowon’s navy blue dress that stopped halfway at the tall girl’s thighs. A brown, leather belt was cinched around Sowon’s waist, thus accentuating her magnificent figure. Legs were left bare in all their flawless glory.

Though Yerin has always been the apple of SinB’s eye, the werewolf in training couldn’t discredit the fact that Sowon looked breathtaking. Her heightened hearing could pick up on the many jealous whisperings from girls who immediately felt threatened of the tall girl’s beauty.

SinB gulped before shyly returning the welcome. “Annyeong, Sowon-ssi...You look really nice tonight.” A cute, nervous smile adorned on her face.

“Kamsahamnida,” Sowon thanked with a polite, small bow before taking a step closer to SinB. “You look really nice, too. I love your jacket. Very military chic.” She gently tugged on the collar, causing SinB to visibly tense up. “It matches perfectly with your brown eyes.” A small smile rose on her lips as she stared directly into the younger girl’s questioning orbs.

“Looks like the two of you don’t need much of our help,” Yuju joked with an amused grin before getting up from her chair to stand next to Yerin.

Upon doing so, SinB noticed the striking resemblance of Yuju’s attire: a red Mickey Mouse sweatshirt and white shorts. It was a perfect match with Yerin’s wardrobe. Suddenly, it resonated in SinB’s head. The two were wearing couples outfits.

“Nonsense, Yuju-ssi,” Sowon spoke, sounding slightly more charismatic. “Why don’t we play a game of bowling? Couple against couple. Losers pay for pizza.”

A competitive spark flickered in Yuju’s eyes. “You’re on, Sowon-ssi.”

“Sounds fun!” Yerin happily declared, eyes shaping into crescents. She glanced at SinB, hoping to see her friend look at least marginally enthusiastic.

“Fun,” SinB dryly agreed, lips unpleasantly warped into a smile.

Yuju released the bowling ball, brows furrowed and eyes calculating the ball’s movement, awaiting the outcome of her throw. As soon as the ball made contact with the very first pin, the rest of the pins went tumbling down in a domino effect. A grand smile beamed from Yuju as she jumped with glee.

“Yes! My third strike in the night,” Yuju announced, taking a seat next to Yerin at their bowling station.

“Do you now believe that my kisses on the cheek are lucky, Yuju-ya?” Yerin mused, wrapping her arms around her girlfriend’s shoulders.

“I never doubted it in the first place, babe,” Yuju flirtatiously remarked back, placing a quick kiss on Yerin’s nose.

SinB shriveled in her seat, disgruntled with the continuous public display of affection between her best friend and the girl who’s undeniably a better bowler than she was. The group only had three more rounds to go before the winners were decided. But, from the major gap between the two scores, it was clear which couple was about to declare victory.

Surprisingly, Sowon was the one earning strikes and spares, making up the difference. Bowling certainly wasn’t SinB’s sport. She either threw with too much force or her aim was completely off, sending the ball straight to the gutter.

The night so far was much more tedious than SinB anticipated. Sowon did keep her promise by pretending to be attracted to the younger girl with her insistent clinginess and overzealous compliments. As cringeworthy as it was, at times, SinB tried her best to reciprocate the gestures. She lent her jacket for Sowon to cover her legs when they began to play and she also managed to return the coquettish smiles. But, no matter how hard SinB tried to stay calm, her tell-tale heart thought differently.

“It’s your turn, SinB-ah,” Yerin informed, bringing her hand up into a supportive fist. “Fighting!”

SinB released a breath before standing up from her seat and retrieving her bowling ball from the machine. Placing her fingers inside the designated openings, SinB trembled closer to the lane. Eyes narrowing on the pins, she inhaled the air tinged with body spray and cigarette smoke amidst lowering her arm and drawing it back.

“SinB-ssi, wait,” Sowon spoke suddenly before the younger girl had the chance to release the heavy ball. Hastily, the long-legged girl stood up and strutted towards a confused SinB. “Let me give you some pointers.”

Flashing SinB a radiant smile, Sowon stood behind the shorter girl. She, then, placed one hand on SinB’s shoulder that carried the bowling ball and rested the other hand slightly above the young wolfpup’s waist. SinB could hear the comical “ooo’s” from Yuju and Yerin.

“What are you doing?” SinB whispered through clenched teeth, trying to act unbothered, but was blushing from the unexpected gesture.

“Relax,” Sowon replied quietly. “Just follow my lead. I don’t wanna be the one stuck paying for her highness's food. Now, lower your shoulder more and bend your elbow to a 90 degree angle.” SinB complied with Sowon’s order. “Okay, Wolfpup. You see that pin standing front and center among all the rest? Pretend it’s Yuju.”

“That’s what I’ve already been doing,” SinB confessed bitterly.

Sowon smirked. “Concentrate, Wolfpup. Don’t be discouraged by a girl like Yuju.” Releasing her hands away from SinB, Sowon took a step back, allowing the young werewolf to make her move.

Eyes locked on the target, SinB released the ball which accelerated down the lane at a remarkable speed. It soon crashed into the first pin, sending a flurry of pins to the ground. All except for the two pins that were located at the far corners of the triangular configuration. The dreaded 7-10 Split.

With one more chance left until her turn was over, SinB turned her head to look at Sowon for guidance. “What should I do, now?”

“Take your pick,” Sowon responded. “Even for an expert, hitting both pins in a spare like that only happens once in a blue moon.”

“But, I want to take both of them down.”

Sowon shrugged, tightening the knot of SinB’s jacket around her hips. “Sometimes you can’t have both.”

Glancing behind her, SinB met with Yerin’s supportive, anticipating eyes. Her best friend gave a slight nod of the head before sending a warm smile to cheer the younger girl on. SinB faced forward, meeting with the improbable play. Taking in a deep breath, she got into the same stance Sowon taught her. With every bit of focus, SinB switched back and forth between the two targets, drew her arm back, and let the ball slip off her fingertips...

It was a blue moon.

In a miraculous turn of events, SinB and Sowon won the couples’ bowling tournament. If anything good came out from the whole experience, it would be seeing Yuju begrudgingly take out her wallet to pay for the hefty bill which accumulated between the four of them.

All grouped together in one of the booths, the two couples had just finished eating. Sipping on her drink, Yerin nudged Yuju’s arm, redirecting her girlfriend’s attention to Sowon who was wiping the corner of SinB’s lips with a napkin. Yerin leaned in closer to Yuju, whispering something softly into her girlfriend’s ear, causing her to giggle.

“So, Sowon-ssi,” Yuju addressed the girl sitting directly in front of her, “how did you learn to bowl like that?”

“I guess some talents just come naturally,” Sowon replied, placing a pesky strand of hair behind her ear. “By the way, Yuju-ssi, how is your grandfather doing? Is he still in the hospital?”

Yuju’s shoulder muscles tightened upon hearing the personal question. “He’s stable, but the doctors are keeping him under a watchful eye,” she answered with a certain sterness in her tone.

“Is your family close with Yuju’s family, Sowon-ssi?” Yerin asked, eyes clouded with curiosity.

“Our parents are close,” Yuju clarified. “My Abeoji is in the same golf league as Sowon’s Abeoji.”

“Don’t forget about our Eomeonis and their weekly book club meetings,” Sowon continued.

“Yes. Well, I hope that we can also be on friendly terms, as well, Sowon-ssi,” Yuju relayed her wish with her signature eager-to-please smile.

“Good evening!” A young Contrail waitress suddenly stopped by their table, carrying an empty tray. Her light, bubbly voice somehow broke the heavy atmosphere. “May I take your plates?”

“It’s fine,” Yuju spoke for the group. “We’re all finished here, right?” She looked at Yerin, SinB, and Sowon who nodded their heads in agreement.

“Let me just clean up the table for you lovely ladies,” the waitress said, briskly stacking the plates filled with crumbs and half eaten pizza crust on the tray.

The short-haired server, then, began to gather the cups. Reaching over to grab SinB’s cup, the waitress accidentally knocked over Yuju’s drink, causing the remaining liquid to flood the table and drip off the sides. Trying to not get their clothes and skin soiled with the sticky soda, the girls scooted from the booth as fast as they could.

“Omo!” the waitress squealed, appalled at the mess she made. “I am so sorry! It’s my first day working here. But, it’ll probably be my last when my boss finds out.”

“Don’t worry…” Yuju paused to take a look at the frazzled waitress’s name tag, “Eunha-ssi. I’ll walk you over to your boss and explain the situation. It wasn’t your fault. It’s just a common accident that anyone can make.”

“You would do that for me?” Eunha, the waitress, questioned in disbelief of the complete stranger’s kindness. Yuju nodded her head with a kindhearted smile. “Oh, thank you!”

Yuju looked back at the group who were blotting off the soda from their arms and legs with napkins found at the next booth. “Stay put, guys. I’m just going to help Eunha-ssi out. This should only take a few minutes.” She softly pinched Yerin’s cheek before following Eunha to her work station.

“Is Yuju-ssi always this considerate?” Sowon asked, half-jokingly and half-serious.

“She just has a knack for helping others,” Yerin replied with a proud grin. “I’m going to the restroom to wash my hands. Do you guys want to join me?”

“I’m alright, Yerin-ssi,” Sowon spoke. “Thankfully, SinB’s jacket took most of the damage. Mianhae, SinB-ssi.” A sheepish smile formed on .

“No worries, Sowon-ssi,” SinB brushed it off coolly, but was actually quite devastated to know that her favorite jacket was now ruined. “But, I’ll go to the restroom with you, Yerin-ah. We’ll be back soon, Sowon-ssi.”

The two pals made their way to the distant corner where the restrooms were located. Upon entering the semi-crowded area, they took turns using the only unoccupied sink since the rest had girls leaning over them as they retouched their makeup.

After drying her hands, Yerin took out her lipstick and proceeded to stand behind SinB who was next to use the sink. Peering over her best friend, Yerin checked her reflection to make sure that her appearance was fair.

“SinB-ah, I think you and Sowon-ssi look really cute together,” Yerin teased, smacking her lips to get an even coating of her cherry red lipstick.

“Cut it out, Yerin-ah,” SinB protested.

“I mean it. The height difference between the two of you is just adorable. Plus, Sowon-ssi was totally putting the moves on you at every chance she got.” She wiggled her eyebrows suggestively.

Shaking off her hands, SinB turned to face Yerin who was already holding several pieces of paper towels for her to get rid of the excess water. “I guess. But, I don’t like to make assumptions too early,” SinB humbly argued.

“You have to give yourself more credit, SinB-ah. I think any person would be lucky to go out with a girl like you. Have confidence,” Yerin said as if it was that simple.

Tossing the paper towel in the trash can next to her, SinB stared at her reflection in the mirror. She wondered what would happen if Yerin ever found out that her so-called ‘date’ with Sowon was a fabrication, a ploy to somehow make her best friend jealous. Of course, if Yerin knew about that, she would also want to know why, forcing SinB to come clean with her feelings. The burden of truth weighed heavier than never before. And, that didn’t even include her secret of being an actual werewolf.

“SinB-ah,” Yerin called out to her friend who seemed to be lost in thought. “You ready to go back?”

Despite guilt pumping through her bloodstream, SinB gave Yerin a meager smile before they both walked out of the restroom and into the party scene.

“Hey, there you guys are!” Yuju yelled over the loud music that was playing all throughout the building as she strided towards the pair. Sowon trailed behind her with her arms crossed. “We were getting worried. Sowon-ssi even theorized that the two of you ditched us and ran away together. Isn’t she just hilarious?!” She cackled in laughter.

“A natural born jokester,” SinB smugly chided.

I'm so into you, I can barely breathe

And all I wanna do is to fall in deep

“Omo! I love this song!” Yerin excitedly screamed as a new song began to play out of the speakers. “Who’s the singer, again? Ariana Garnier?”

“Ariana Grande,” SinB corrected, chuckling from her friend’s pronunciation mistake.

“Whoever it is, we’re dancing. Come on, Yerin-ah!” With a wide, Prince Charming grin, Yuju grabbed onto Yerin’s hand, pulling her to the direction of the dance floor.

“Wait,” Yerin stopped Yuju as she looked at her best friend who stood next to Sowon awkwardly. “Sowon-ssi, you and SinB should join us. You won’t be disappointed by SinB’s incredible dancing skills.”

“Yerin-ah…” SinB tried to speak up.

“You two go ahead,” Sowon cut her “date” off. “I was hoping to use this alone time to get to know SinB-ssi better. Besides, I’m not much of a dancer.”

“Okay, then,” Yerin said, slightly disheartened. “Have fun.” She tightened her hold on Yuju’s hand, signaling for her girlfriend to lead the way.

Off on their own, SinB and Sowon walked back to the booths which directly faced the dance floor already filled with people moving and pulsating against one another. It didn’t take SinB that long to distinguish Yerin and Yuju from the crowd. Her best friend’s eye smile was as equally dazzling and hypnotizing as the disco ball and multi-colored lasers that illuminated the floor.

SinB glanced at Sowon who seemed to be texting on her phone. In the pocket of her jeans, she felt her phone vibrate, possibly signaling a new text message. Taking it out, she looked at the screen and saw that the message was none other from Sowon. Her eyes darted up to meet the older girl’s who simply tilted her head, gesturing for SinB to read the text.

Sowon: It would be redundant to have a conversation when music is blaring, so I resorted to using SNS. If you have time tomorrow, we can get started on your training. My parents’ private ranch is the perfect place to meet. Feel free to bring Pipsqueak -_-

SinB: Sure. Is the afternoon okay with you?

Sowon: Fine by me. I’ll text you the address

SinB appreciated all the things Sowon had done for her, thus far. But, despite the many lengths the two went through that night, she failed to sense even a hint of jealous vibes emitting from Yerin. In fact, her best friend had been nothing but supportive and encouraging towards SinB and Sowon’s “blossoming relationship.” SinB was starting to worry that her feeling for Yerin was truly one-sided .

As the song continued to build up to the chorus, SinB had her sight solely on the ridiculously perfect couple. Yuju had her arms securely around Yerin’s waist, while Yerin laced her hands behind Yuju’s neck. Both of their bodies were pressed against each other, leaving very little space between them as they bounced to the beat. The older girl’s eyes looked deeply into her girlfriend’s, expression lacked the playfulness she was known for. Slowly, Yerin guided her lips towards Yuju who graciously accepted the kiss.

Just like how SinB reacted when she saw the photobooth pictures of the couple in a liplock, she found herself being held captive by a series of insufferable emotions. Her heart began to race, palms began to sweat, and eyes began to burn. Suddenly, all the sights, sounds, and smells were converging together into one incoherent blur.

“I need some air,” SinB gasped before stumbling out of the booth and darting as fast as she could to the exit.

Upon opening the door, SinB was instantly refreshed by the cool night air. Seeking solace, she jogged to the side of Contrail that formed an alleyway with the building opposite of it. Heavily breathing as if she ran a marathon, SinB leaned her back on the brick surface before hunching over to place her hands on her thighs.

“Inhale through your nose. Exhale through your mouth.”

SinB turned her head and noticed Sowon, arms folded, calmly walking towards her.

“Your plan isn’t working,” SinB spat out in annoyance, yet still obeyed with Sowon’s breathing instructions.

“Well, maybe it would be more convincible if you stopped looking at me with such distaste whenever I tried to flirt with you.”

“It doesn’t even matter anymore. Yerin likes Yuju. End of story.” SinB straightened her posture, closing her eyes and allowing the chilly air to dissipate her perspiration.

“Oh, don’t get discouraged, Wolfpup.” Sowon relayed several sympathetic pats on the younger girl’s shoulder. “You want to know a surefire way to really make someone jealous?”

Tiredly opening her eyes, SinB glanced at Sowon. “And, what’s that?”

With no time to waste, Sowon stepped in front of SinB. Grabbing the younger girl’s wrist, the Beta werewolf calculatively placed it on the small of her back. With SinB’s other hand, Sowon moved it so it laid on top of her shoulder. The older girl proceeded to position her own hands on the side of SinB’s cheek and on the younger girl’s waist. Sowon’s movements were so swift that SinB couldn’t comprehend what was happening until she felt the taller girl’s lips pressing upon her own.

Sowon was kissing her...

So, baby, come light me up, and maybe I'll let you on it

A little bit dangerous, but, baby, that's how I want it

A little less conversation and a little more "touch my body"

'Cause I'm so into you, into you, into you

“Way to go, SinB-ssi!”

As if being freed from a spell, SinB released the kiss, turning her head to the source of the voice.

There, stood Yuju and Yerin. Both appeared to be equally surprised, but it was Yuju who wore a self-satisfied look on her face.

Eyebrows shooting up to her hairline, SinB unwrapped her arms from Sowon, giving the taller girl a slight push so that they were a foot apart. Her face was reddening by the second. Not even the frigid midnight breeze could calm her down.

“Th-this isn’t what it looks like!” SinB shrieked.

“You don’t have to explain to us, SinB-ssi,” Yuju spoke up in amusement. “We’ll leave you lovebirds alone.” She winked at a panting SinB before extending a hand for Yerin.

The long-time best friend’s lips quirked into a smile as she stared at SinB. “I’m happy for you,” she whispered. Entwining her fingers with Yuju’s, the couple turned and walked away.
