Chapter 16: Kidnap.

Panting heavily, Sunny grabbed the door handle as she let out her loudest shout.

“Nichkhun ahhh!!!!!!”

Immediately, the once noisy class became quiet, everyone focusing on Sunny.

Despite the numerous pairs of eyes on her, Sunny knew it wasn’t the time to feel embarrass.

Yuri was definitely more important than her pride now.

“S…Sunny?”

Nichkhun stood up from his chair slowly, shocked by Sunny’s sudden exclamation.

Sunny walked over hastily to Nichkhun and grabbed his wrist before pulling him out of his class.

A few “Oohs” and “ahhs” were heard, but Sunny cared no less.

“Sunny ahh, what’s wrong?”

Nichkhun asked confusedly once they were out of earshot.

“Look here, Nichkhun. I think Yuri’s missing.”

Sunny looked at Nichkhun seriously and worriedly.

“Mi-Missing? Are you sure?”

“She went to the toilet just now, remember?”

Nichkhun nodded, waiting to hear more.

“That was over half an hour ago. She didn’t return to class and neither was she in the toilet when I went to look for her. And…I found this.”

Sunny spoke as she lifted up Yuri’s keychain which she found in the toilet.

“Sunny, do you think you may be thinking a little too much? Class only starts in another 45 minutes. She could have gone somewhere else to take a breather and had dropped her keychain due to her carelessness.”

Nichkhun reasoned, with Sunny replying by shaking her head.

“No Nichkhun. I don’t think so. I have a really weird feeling about this. Do you think Yuri has offended anyone? I mean, she can be so cold to others sometimes…”

Sunny trailed off, unable to think of the worst consequences that could have happened to Yuri.

Nichkhun bit his lower lip.

True, Yuri’s attitude could have offended someone.

And…what if she offended a ert?

Oh goodness.

She’s so pretty, what if she gets…

Nichkhun couldn’t think any further.

“Let’s go look for her, Sunny.”

Lifting her eyelids seemed like the toughest thing ever.

Yuri scanned her surroundings as she moaned in pain.

It was as though her brain was being pounded continuously.

Just then, a voice surprised her.

“I see that the little princess has woken up.”

“WHO ARE YOU?!”

“You don’t have to know.”

“Pfft. Come out and show your face if you had the guts to kidnap me in the first place. Don’t be a lowly COWARD.”

“SHUT UP YOU !”

Clad in 6 inch heels and a set of newly-ironed uniform, a girl marched up to Yuri and pulled Yuri’s hair.

Squinting hard, Yuri tried to recognise the person torturing her.

Her voice…it’s so familiar!

But it was way too dark for Yuri to make out the kidnapper.

As the girl tugged on Yuri’s hair, she screeched at Yuri, directing her booming voice into Yuri’s ear.

“I HATE YOU! AND I WANT YOU TO GET OUT OF MY SIGHT FOREVER!”

“Well then, kill me.”

“YOU SHUT UP! DON’T THINK I DON’T DARE TO DO SO!”

“What a pathetic fool you are. If you want to have me out of your sight, just kill me. You don’t have to talk so much. My life’s miserable anyway, I’ll be glad if you do me this favour.”

The girl slapped Yuri’s face hard and took hold of Yuri’s chin.

“Oh no no no. I’m not going to kill you yet. I want you to have a taste of being cruelly tortured before you die.”

The girl whispered into Yuri’s ear and pushed her into one corner before letting out a sinister laughter.

“Who are you? Why are you doing this?”

Yuri asked softly.

She was scared.

She wanted to cry.

But she was determined to put up a strong front.

The Kwon Yuri from a few months ago was everyone’s sweetie pie.

Now, I’m probably most people’s greatest nightmare and enemy.

Yuri thought sadly as she recalled the countless incidents when she had been really cold to the many students in Chang Mal.

“Why am I doing this? BECAUSE YOU, KWON YURI STOLE MY BOY AWAY!”

An Earth-shattering scream pulled Yuri back in reality, leaving her confused.

“Your…your boy?”

“That’s right. MY boy. He…he used to be mine 2 years ago.”

The girl started to weep uncontrollably as she recounted her past.

“I…was a flirt. I loved being one and every boy whom I targeted would fall madly in love with me. But one after one, I toyed with their feelings. Then this boy…this boy, he made me know what love was. I…I loved him so much! But after awhile, he just left me. HE BROKE UP WITH ME! I didn’t know why but…BUT I SAW HIM WITH YOU! I SAW HIM FALLING IN LOVE WITH YOU! YOU CREEP, HOW DARE YOU!”

Before Yuri could absorb the girl’s story fully, another punch came her way.

Kicks; punches; slaps and the pulling of the hair, Yuri experienced it all until she heard a faint voice calling that girl to stop.

And her eyes were shut once again.

"Stay away from Yuri!"

Yuri opened her heavy eyes tiredly.

She heard lots of shouting.

She wanted to get up when she found herself being tied up.

Then, she was about to groan when she found that was taped together too.

All that came out was what sounded like a muffled whimper.

Worse, she still couldn't see anything as it was too dark.

Damn.

Suddenly, the door came crashing down, inviting a strong and powerful beam of light into the dark room.

A dark silhouette stood at the entrance.

Yuri's eyes were slowly adjusting to the light as she tried to make out the person.

Whoever that is, he's going to be my Hero.

That person rushed forward to Yuri, caressing her face.

“YURI AHH! GWENCHANAYO?”

A panic-stricken girl knelt in front of Yuri as she removed the tape on .

“Sunny?”

“Oh my! How can she do this to you?!”

Sunny examined Yuri’s bruised face and body as she untied the ropes that bounded Yuri’s limbs.

From inside, Yuri could still hear the shouts.

That’s strange.

How…how come they sound like-

“Yuri ahh, do you know how worried I was?”

Sunny broke Yuri’s train of thoughts.

Yuri smiled and hugged Sunny, who hugged her back.

“Gomawo Sunny, you’re the best!”
