Rainbow Skittles

The tomboy fiddled with her colorful skittles as boredom loomed over her head. It's always been this way, her group getting introduced to other groups at parties, events, and whatnot. Guess she can say it's not always too bright as it seems. Generally, it's with other girl groups,  boy groups are far and few, and then dealing with the countless of flirtatious gestures from dozens of girls due to the misconception that she's a boy. Once correcting that misconception, dozens of girls became few. Even so, she'll still receive romantic interest in others, but it's not like she honestly cares. And so, here she is at some regular mixed event. A few boy groups, most are girl groups, and then there's the managers. Business is business, right? She tried talking with reasonable amount of Korean, and everything went fine.

Or so she thought.

Since when did society become so judgemental? She knew it would be different compared to America, but geeze. Everyone keeps looking at her as if she's some weirdo. Or... Maybe she is? The girl grumbled underneath her breath and sighed, matching the rainbow colors together. She thought a casual event lead to casual clothing, so why everyone's dressed up to some birthday bash?

She looked over her shoulders to find some kid lounging against the wall. What is he, emo? Okay, okay, maybe she's being a complete sourpuss than usual. After all, she shooed away all of her teammates after being humiliated by an insensitive prick. Yeah, she shouldn't be sissy about it, but she already gets teased enough at school! Anyway, kid looks somewhat snobby, but perhaps he's possibly shy, like her? The thought did occur to greet him, but she immediately deflated such thought. Not a good idea, and besides, she managed to concoct this rainbow miracle of skittles! Take a pic, post on Instagram, and maybe make a meme joke. Yeah, that'd do some good.

The tomboy pulled out her phone from her sweatpants, ready to take the picture. However, another glance over her shoulder made time freeze. Crap. He's looking at me. They look pretty critical, too. Great, just what she needs... Another judgemental brat who thinks he's better than her. Like usual.

You what? Whatever. I don't freaking care.

She returned back to her handcrafted project, snapped a few pictures, and immediately posted on Instagram.

Liu_LovesLlama: guys look I made a masterpiece lol.

"It looks okay."

"Eeep!" She released an uncanny yelp. There's this brat is, towering over her like the Eiffel tower standing above its citizens. Black hair, dark brown eyes, pasty pale ((no offense though)) and hot- black leather jacket, pants and sneakers.

Yup. Must be enduring the phases.

"Uh, sorry, uh..." What else is she suppose to say? Ey! Thanks bro, really appreaciate it? "Thanks man." Crap, close enough. He stood there staring at her with his penetrating gaze, and she couldn't help but to feel squimish.

"Can I help you with something?"

"I used to play with candy a lot."

"...Okay... Cool. Wanna uh, take a seat?"

"Uh, sure. I don't... Uh, have much to do." And so, the boy sat beside her carefully.

A minute goes bye.

Two.

... "So, uh, the name's Amber." She reached her hand out to him- oh, wait, crap, she's suppose to bow, right? The girl quickly stood up and bowed at the boy. In return, the teenager immediately grew flustered, "Uh, no, that's not how..." He words trailed off, then he shook his head, "Um, how old are you?" He asked.

"Eightteen." Amber stated.

The boy couldn't help but to smirk, much to Amber's annoyance. "I'm actually younger than you, so, you don't have to do that. Unless you just want to-"

"Forget it. I'm not interested in appeasing you. Or anyone for that matter-"

"Sorry, it was just a joke..." The boy looked away from what seems to be embarrassment. Amber quickly deflated from her defensive stance, "Errm, sorry, I just- I didn't mean to be rude, I just, you know... Had a stressed week." It wasn't an entire lie. Korean studies, etiquette classes, growing insecurities, endless teasing, dieting, and hardcore practicing makes everything stressful. "Let's start over. My name is Amber Liu, and I am eightteen years old. And what's your name?"

The teenage boy didn't quickly respond, but eventually he sighed. "Oh Sehun, and I'm sixteen."

"Really?" Wow, for a sixteen year old kid, he's sure a growing boy!

Making friends is considered a soda. Introduction is cold, fuzzy with awkward emotions and uncertain of the outcome. But once it settles on your tastesbuds, you'll immediately decide whether or not you'll like it. Sometimes it'll have to sit on your tastebuds for a while before choosing.

Amber and Sehun became, if you say it, "Good buds." It's weird to be honest, having a quiet, tall and lanky kid hanging out with the most boyish girl anyone can think of. But whatever works. Sehun and Amber, not the most ideal combo, but it's a combo to pass time.

Amber learned he's a group member from EXO. He haven't debuted yet, but with patience and dignity, he will... Eventually. He doesn't seem like a bad dancer, either. Pretty decent, and the manager doesn't mind her hanging out with Sehun, either. He's... Adorable, if that makes sense. Puts up this constant, "I'm bad. Stay away" Demeanor, but it's kind of silly in her opinion. Well, he's a cute little brother to hang with during free time.
