KIM HYUNJOONG

I watched Somin while she ate her food. She really loved Japanese food, especially Sashimi and Sushi. She ate lots. I just smiled every time I saw her closed her eyes when she ate wasabi; she just made a funny face.

“Don’t eat that.” I said it after she closed her eyes for the 5th times eating Sashimi and wasabi.

“Why? This is the best part of eating Sushi and Sashimi.” Somin chewed her food.

“Finish your food first before talking.”

She took a salmon sashimi and put it in front of my mouth. “Try this.”

I shook my head. “I have my own food.” I pointed to tempura set in front of me.

“Try this!” She demanded.

“You learn fast to be demanding.”

“I learn from the best teacher.” Somin winked her eyes.

I gazed at her and ate the sashimi and chewed it.

She smiled. “With wasabi?”

I shook my head. “No, thanks.”

She laughed and continued eating.

‘So.. this is how it feels to have a friend.’ I continued watching Somin. ‘Thank you, Somin-ah. Thank you for being here with me.’

JUNG YONGHWA

I refused Shiyoon’s invitation to walked around with him and Shinhye. I told them that I had to coordinate my team as a follow up to today meeting. I lay my body at my bed and put my hand to cover my eyes. ‘I don’t want to see them together. I am not ready.’

RING! RING! I took my phone on my pocket and press call button without seeing who was calling.

“Love!” Seohyun’s voice was on the other side.

“Hi!”

“How is the meeting?” She asked.

“Went well. I will talk to our team tomorrow.”

“When will be here?”

“At 10:00 PM.”

“Do you want me to pick you up?”

“No need Seohyun-ah, Somin will pick me up.”

“Ok then.” She said nothing in few seconds. “I miss you, Love.”

“I miss you too.”

“I love you.” Seohyun said.

“I will see you soon.” I said and ended our conversation. I still lay on my bed and my arms still covers my eyes. ‘What should I do?’

It was almost 08:00 PM and Somin hurriedly packing her things. ‘I have to pick up Oppa. Hopefully I am not late.’ Half running, she headed toward the elevator.

“Somin-ah, let’s have dinner together.”

Somin turned her head and found Hyunjoong in front of his office’s door.

DING! Elevator’s door opened.

“Mianhae. I can’t. I have to pick up my Oppa. I don’t want to be late.” Somin smiled widely. “See you next week.” She entered the elevator without looked back and waited for Hyunjoong’s answer.

KIM HYUNJOONG

I just stood there and looked at the elevator’s door. ‘My Oppa?’  I felt confused yet irritated. ‘Is she dating someone? Her smile.. It seems that she is happy to see her Oppa.’

I my hair and walked back to my office. I did not know what to do. I planned to spend this night with her. And, she just turned me down.

JUNG SOMIN

I reached the airport at 10:05 along with my EEomma.

“Where is he?” Mrs Jung asked.

I threw my sight all over the place before I saw my brother sitting at a bench at the corner. “There!” I held my Eomma’s hand and walked toward Yonghwa.

“Oppa!” I called him as we went nearer to him.

Yonghwa raised his head and smiled at us. He stood up and opened his arms to welcome us. Eomma and I hugged him tightly for few minutes before we let go of each other.

“I miss you so much, Oppa.” I said.

He pinched my cheek. “I miss you too.”

“Do you bring anything for me?” I asked as we walked toward our car.

“Mianhae Somin-ah, I was so busy with the meeting.”

“Ah, it is ok.”

“Where is Shinhye?” Eomma suddenly asked. She knew that Oppa and Shinhye Eonnie were going together.

“Eh, where is she?” I also asked and looked at Yonghwa.

“He already went home with Shiyoon-ssi.” Yonghwa explained.

I could see the pain in his eyes and decided not to ask anything anymore.

“Too bad. I am hoping we could see her and send her home. I miss her.” Mrs Jung said in low voices.

But, I was sure that Oppa could hear that clearly as I did.

Oppa kept silence as he drove our car. I knew that something was up in Japan. Something between him and Shinhye Eonnie. I hated myself for being helpless like this. Oppa sacrificed his life to run our business. He deserved happiness. I was sure that his happiness was Shinhye Eonnie. But, I also know that he was also gentlemen enough for not hurting Seohyun Eonnie.

‘I wish I know what happened between them in the in first place.’ I stared at his cold face. ‘Oppa, what can I do to help you?’

“Eomma..”

Mrs Jung looked at Yonghwa.

“This Sunday will be my engagement day with Seohyun.”

“WHAT?!” Eomma and I screamed in union.

“You are kidding, right?” I snapped.   

He shook his head. “Few days ago, her parents already talk to me about this. And tonight, I called them and said that I am agreed.”

“But-“

“I cannot make Seohyun wait for me any longer, Eomma.” Yonghwa cut Mrs Jung’s statement.

None of us said anything after it. I was busy with my thought. ‘Then, I should stop hoping that Shinhye Eonnie will be my sister in law’
