Chapter 19
Just stayYoungjae hadn’t cried in days. He preferred the peace and serenity numbness gave him.
No sobbing.
No using up a whole tissue box.
No hurting.
No feeling…
This had become Youngjae’s whole life, this grey cloud that followed him. Youngjae didn’t know when he would snap out of it, but he prayed it wasn’t anytime soon. Although the need for Jaebum grew every hour, minute, even second, Youngjae refused it. He locked it away. Called it forbidden.
The day Youngjae snapped out of his zombie like trance was the day the eviction papers were violently shoved through the mail slot and landed on Youngjae’s floor. Bright red letters reading “24 HOUR EVICTION NOTICE FOR TENANT- CHOI YOUNGJAE’ sprawled across the front seemed too colourful to be real. Youngjae was living in grey but this bright red was a warning from reality. The world was done begging Youngjae to come back to reality, it was now threatening him.
That was the last straw. Youngjae broke down crying, throwing himself onto the floor as waves of navy sadness and orange anger flowed through his body, creating a bruise like colour to form inside of him. Youngjae’s tears threatened to smudge the red warning written on the envelope he was holding, but Youngjae couldn’t let that happen. He felt like it was wrong for some reason.
Youngjae didn’t know what exactly he was crying about. He should be crying about being evicted, or being told no one loves him, or being lonely, and yet Youngjae couldn’t pinpoint it. He missed Jaebum, but that wasn’t what he was crying about. He had no place to stay… and yet not even that was the main cause.
Youngjae was crying in self pity.
