No More. No More // Chapter Six

No More. No More

Jimin was trying to calm down, he really was. Yoongi’s instructions on breathing in and out were helping his heart stop beating so fast. “That’s it, in and out, shhh.” But Jimin still couldn’t shake the hands off his skin though.

“Make it stop.” Yoongi looked at Jimin with worried eyes and gave him the cup of water that was in Namjoon’s hand.

“Drink, it’ll calm you down.” He took a sip but still couldn’t look at him. Taehyung went to take his hand but he flinched away. “Do you want us to leave?” Jimin shut his eyes and shook his head.

“I don’t know! Why are you always helping me?”

“Because we’re-”

“Don’t say social workers, I know who you guys are.” It went silent for a second before Namjoon took a seat across from Jimin.

“We’re the Red Bullet,” His voice lacked the usual pridefulness, “welcome to our home Jimin.” Seeing that he wasn’t going to respond until his question was answered, Seokjin spoke from his seat.

“We know it was wrong of us to lie about who we were but the way we treated you was with sincere intentions.” They were waiting to see how he would react, still surprised that he knew about who they were. Jimin, however, looked down at Taehyung’s hand that was still on the couch after he ignored it.

“Do you still feel that way? After all that’s happened?”

“It wasn’t like you wanted any of that to happen. But I’m sure all of us would want you to stay with us. Don’t we?” They all nodded at Seokjin words; Taehyung tried again to take his hand. Jimin let him take it.

“I won’t do you any good, I can’t fight. I’m dir-”

“Nonsense to that, I’m going to heat up the food. I made some of my delicious congee so you need to eat up.”

“I’ll help.”

Seokjin and Namjoon went to the kitchen leaving the rest of them in silence. Jimin was staring at Taehyung’s hand again, his own was patched up in a bandaid and let out a loud sigh. “I don’t understand.”

“You’re the first person I tried to be friends with Jimin! You’re really awesome to talk to.” Jungkook rolled his eyes but agreed when he went to sit next to Jimin.

“Plus, you don’t need to know how to fight. I barely go out but I still consider myself to be useful. More useful that that this thing on the floor here.”

“Hey!” His glance went to Jimin, “But I’m not kidding, it would be nice to come home to a friend to just hang with.”

At this point of Jimin’s life, he didn’t know where he would go other than the gas station of a home. In his mind, all the worst possible scenarios played out in his mind. But there were also the best possible scenarios. “Can I trust you?” It was a useless question but Jimin felt like it still needed to be asked.

“Most definitely.”

“What happened to them?” Hoseok’s smile dropped at the mention of the man he killed.

“I killed him, Yoongi hyung took care of the other two.” Jimin frowned at the thought of Hoseok and Yoongi taking away lives for him. “We couldn’t let him live, not after what happened.”

“You should’ve seen him, one could’ve mistaken him as an artist with the designs that he was drawing on his skin.” A bowl of steaming hot congee with a smoothie on the side was placed in front of Jimin, Seokjin’s scowl evident when he came into Jimin’s view.

“Hey don’t make him disgusted right when he’s about to eat.

He tried to eat his food, he really did try. But with six pairs of eyes watching his every move with the spoon, he felt as if he was a baby speaking his first words. “Do you guys want some?”

“No!” All of them yelled and Jimin couldn’t help but let out a small giggle. The sound making the rest of them smile along and relax in their seats. Jimin ended up finishing his food with Taehyung and Jungkook acting out their comic books in front of him. There was still a churning feeling inside Jimin, and as much as he was grateful for them, he felt like the need to let go of everything. All the stress and fear that had been building up inside of him made him feel uneasy.

They chosen a room for Jimin in between Yoongi and Taehyung and gave him a fresh set of clothes that Yoongi deemed not his style anymore. Hoseok carried him back down and laid him in bed. It felt surreal, a few weeks ago Jimin would’ve wanted anything to be living in a warm family with them but now that he really was, he couldn’t help but think about the day that they got tired of him. “Stop thinking so much.” Hoseok’s voice was calm, “If you’re thinking about us abandoning you than forget it. Jungkook is a spoiled brat so I should be the worried one about you wanting to leave us. Believe it or not, that kid can be quite possessive.” And just like that, Jimin’s final wall crumbled. He sobbed into Hoseok’s chest, whispering thank you and I’m scared between hiccups.

Hoseok smiled as he pat Jimin’s back with calming words, he was glad to be finally able get through to Jimin. He heard a knock on the door and the three eldest came in, Seokjin immediately running to see why their precious new addition to their family was crying. Jimin didn’t hear them come in, either that or he didn't care; he started to babble on about what happened. Namjoon surprisingly sitting on the edge of the bed beside them and Seokjin holding his hand. They didn’t attempt to shush him, he needed to let it out and Jimin took that opportunity to truly confide in all his thoughts.

“I was so scared, more than when I lost my leg. God it hurt so much! Why did they do that? I wasn’t bad, I didn’t steal, I didn’t even do anything to them.” He clutched harder onto Hoseok’s shirt. “I still remember. His hands, I still feel them on me, I felt so dirty, I still do. I still hear the zippers, the laughing, his moans. He is dead isn’t he? Why is this happening to me then?” Namjoon passed him a tissue to which he accepted gratefully, he blew his nose and continue to cry. Hoseok’s constant pats on the back helped Jimin’s sobs turn into little sniffs and continued the soothing action until he fell asleep. Laying him bed, Jungkook and Taehyung slowly came in with scared looks on their faces, “Is he ok?”

“He’s shaken up, but I think if he woke up to you and Jungkook, he’ll be really glad.”

“I brought my laptop with me so I can work from here tonight.”

“Good, now let’s head out and talk about what to do with that man who brought Jimin into this mess.”

They sat at the kitchen table sipping on the coffee that Hoseok brewed. It tasted more watery than preferred but Seokjin thought that the effort was enough. The silent question was lingering on top of them, how should the Beggar Leader be killed? Each one of them wanted a hand at him, even the two youngest but if they were to go in-person, the leader wouldn't even be alive after any one of them was done with him.

“Should we ask Jimin?”

“Let’s ask tomorrow then, it’s already nearing dawn so why don't we all get some sleep and go shopping for Jimin tomorrow. As much as Yoongi’s clothes fit him, I think he should have his own closet.”

Jungkook and Taehyung were cleaning through the garbage since the room was their old guest room. Jimin was sleeping soundly as Jungkook mopped the floor, “Hey hyung, are you almost done in there?” Taehyung was wiping the closet and putting fresh hangers onto the bar.

“What do you need?”

“Nothing, I just wanted to talk about earlier.” He glanced at Jimin, making sure the elder was still asleep. “I don’t think he trusts us yet.”

“Jungkook-ah, I thought you were the bright one, if he didn’t trust us, how come he let Hoseok hyung hold him like that earlier.”

Jungkook thought about it, it was true but “Last time I tried to make a friend, we had to kill him remember?”

“That’s because he wasn’t trustworthy. He would’ve leaked out secrets to the other gangs, secrets that could’ve destroyed us.” It was in high school. Jungkook had thought that it was a great idea to have him over to study but little did he know that he was a spy from the gang in the western parts of Seoul, he swore that day after they killed him that he would never befriend anyone ever again. But that was before he met Jimin, before they saw another reason to live other than killing and protecting the innocent.

“I think we should bring him out and go to the beach. I’ve always wanted to go and who knows, maybe Jimin would let us run across the sand with him on our backs.”

“That doesn’t sound fun, for him or for us.”

“I saw it in a movie, but how about going to the beach and having a barbecue?”

“I don’t think Seokjin hyung would have any complaints since it does mean eating meat but hyung, you do realize its still winter right?” He heard a bang, probably Taehyung bumping into the little ledge in the closet. “Right, so back to plan Jimin, I was thinking the arcade.”

“Seriously Jungkook, you couldn’t be any more original? The arcade? And you doubt my ideas.”

“At least we won't freeze to death with mine.”

“Hey come over for a second.” Hoseok had just came out of the washroom when Yoongi called him over to the door to his room. “Listen.”

“God, Jungkook listen to me. The supermarket is a great idea!”

“You’re kidding right? What kind of welcoming committee are you? Oh let’s go to grocery shopping on a first family trip.” Jungkook’s mocking tone at the end earned him a smack with what sounded like a towel.

“And you think the skating rink is better?”

“I forgot ok, let’s just keep brainstorming until we agree on an idea.”

“How about the mall?”

“Now you’re taking my idea and twisting it around!”

“Well I don’t see you coming up with better ideas.”

“This would be so much easier if he could walk.”

“Yah Jeon Jungkook.”

“Sorry.”

“Those idiots.”

“I feel like the supermarket idea was pretty good.” Hoseok got a look of disgust from Yoongi. “Like Tae said, can you think of anything better?”

“You’re an idiot too.” He look towards Jimin’s door. “You know I just want to kill that motherfu-”

“Language!”

“Holy hyung, where did you come from?”

“Don’t try to change the subject. I’m heading out for something but don’t tell Namjoon I left.”

“Where are you going?”

“Gotta prepare something for Jimin.”

Seokjin was kind hearted and sometimes a pushover when it came to his family. But there were times where even the fearless Yoongi wanted to crawl under his bed when he saw the murderous look in the elder’s eyes. He made it clear to everyone that his family was in fact, his family. And that they were not to be messed with.

He wanted to warn the Beggar Leader that they were coming and street name Jin was always one to be dramatic.

He grabbed his favourite medical tools and drove off to the same address as the business card that was torn up in Jimin’s old jacket. When he pulled up to the run down building he looked around, not many people. Striding through the main entrance, he took his time looking and eyeing random strangers’ jugulars. Seokjin took the elevator to the top floor. He heard voices and without knocking, he walked into the leader talking to his minion-like men. Putting his most signature and convincing shy face as he walked closer.

“I’m here from Seoul Medical Hospital? You’re assistant had called me in to have you vaccinated.”

“I don’t remember him saying anything.”

“It is required that all citizens take it, may I set up?”

The leader looked towards the two men. “You can leave.”

As Seokjin walked towards his desk, he knocked over the telephone by accident. “I’m so sorry.”

“No its fine just hurry up and get out.” He held out his arm while he felt the cool breeze of alcohol being rubbed on his skin.

“You know I want to thank you.”

“What for?”

“For giving me another brother. His name is Jimin. You’ve seen him many times.”

“What kind of nonsense are you yapping about?”

Ignoring his question, Seokjin’s voice turned malicious, “But I didn’t know the price of losing part of his leg was what it took for us to find him.” The needle was ready and hovering over his skin.

“You talking about the boy? Suga said that I would be let off the hook if I didn’t cause anymore trouble.” He had only ever met J-Hope and Suga from the Red Bullet, but none of the other gangs knew about the boy, it wasn’t on their land.

“You can call me Jin.” He poked through the skin slowly, earning him a quiet gasp of pain.

“Are you even a doctor?” Reaching out for the phone, all he caught was air. It was still on the floor. He felt a warm breath against his neck.

“Don’t even bother calling for help. They’re all dead. And if your two thugs from earlier were smart,” He pushed the liquid through. “then they would be running as fast as they could away from here.”

The man’s arm had gone numb. “What did you do?!”

“Only making you experience the pain of losing a limb. What was the saying? An eye for an eye? But lucky you, still have it attached to you.” He leaned away and took his belongings. But he turned back around and stabbed the needle right into the man’s leg. “Lucky you. But luck does run out for those that don't deserve it, I’ll see you around.”

“Hey Jungkook.”

“Yea?”

“What do you say we redecorate Jimin’s room?”

“It’s four in the morning hyung, what do you think we can do?”

“It’s never too early to start planning. Don’t you think the walls are too plain? Do you think he’ll like photos? We should get him a camera! We’re going to make so many great memories we have to capture them all. I think I saw that one really nice camera at the mall last time we went, but it came in two colours. Do you think he’ll like the white on or black one? I think white, and don’t you dare say that it’s because I liked that one. Oh, that means we’ll need picture frames and lots of photo albums-” Jungkook only nodded on while turning his attention back onto his laptop.

“Sure hyung, anything you say.” Little did Taehyung know, Jungkook was looking at decor for the room on his laptop.
