“W-what do you mean?” Shocked? Maybe. Her eyes couldn’t help but widen. Is this normally how a guy admits his feeling for you? Is what went through Taeyeon’s mind. Sure it wasn’t very subtle, but from a guy like Kim Hyun Joong don’t you think he considers that to be the best way, frankness can be loved or hated.

He let out a loud sigh as he laid back resting his hands on the platform his folded arms provided him. “What do you mean by, ‘What do you mean’?” Why the hell was he so relaxed?

Taeyeon pouted, “Are you trying to say you like me?” She was afraid she asked the wrong question.

“Of course, what else would I be trying to say?” Hyun Joong chuckled, as he let his eyes close. “So how about you, do you like me back?” He sat back up slowly, calmly. Looking at her as if she were the only woman for him.

Blushing extremely Taeyeon shyly smiled, “I do!” It was like she was expecting to be slapped as she tried to hide her face from Hyun Joong. Before she knew it Hyun Joong had his arms around her, his chin resting on top of her head.

“I’m happy”, Hyun Joong basically whispered, “It’s been so long since I was able to feel truly happy.”

Taeyeon couldn’t help but smile herself, that happiness was shared between the two even though the whole scene was quite awkward. His fragrance vanished as he pulled away from her, much to her disliking.

They had still been sitting down, awkward position for a hug eh? Hyun Joong pulled himself up, smacking his jeans to get the dirt and grass off his and legs. Taeyeon took his hand that was offered to help her stand back up as well.

It had just struck her as she regained her balance, “Wait what about IU?” Her concerned voice came back all too soon. She gave Hyun Joong a sad look, “I feel terrible, I didn’t even consider her feelings.”

Hyun Joong calmly placed his hand upon Taeyeon’s head, “You worry too much, Ji Eun will be fine. She’s a strong girl, and she’ll realize that I’m not that great of a boyfriend anyways.”

“But still you are on a date with her”, Taeyeon took Hyun Joong’s hand off of her head and held onto it. “This isn’t right.”

“Well well! There you are! We’ve been looking for you guys!” Hyun Joong could tell whose voice that was without even looking. Seung Gi who was dressed formally top to bottom showed up with Jessica, Donghae and IU beside him.

Taeyeon immediately dropped her grasp of Hyun Joong’s hand and tried to act as if they were just talking.

“How am I not surprised that they’re together?” Jessica smiled, seemingly un-phased by the fact that obviously they were now a couple. “You don’t need to hide it anymore, we saw your hands!”

“It’s a misunderstanding!” Taeyeon tried to deny it but she wasn’t all that good at acting. But as she spoke she was suddenly pulled toward Hyun Joong. He held onto her with his left arm, holding her close.

“Don’t we look good together?” Hyun Joong smiled.

“Is this what you do when you get girls water?” IU laughed cutely.

“I’m sorry, I just”, Hyun Joong truly felt terrible even though he was quite happy, “Wanted to tell her, I felt like she was the only one.” The two were walking alone together, on a pathway to which they weren’t really sure what it led to. “I’m sorry.”

It’s one of those moments where you truly feel a certain way, yet you’re not able to express it the way you want. I feel terrible yet every time I apologized it sounded insincere. This is probably why I never dated much; I hate dealing with this kind of stuff.

“Somehow I already knew”, IU replied seeming un-phased, “And I imagined I’d be more emotional when it did happen, but I’m not mad. Nor am I sad.”

“Probably means you weren’t truly in love”, Hyun Joong sighed, “but I’m glad you’re not one of the types to get mad! I think we can be good friends.” He patted her on the back.

She smiled, “Yeah… friends.”

“Hyun Joong Hyun Joong Hyun Joong”, Donghae sighed, “It’s always Hyun Joong.”

“Are you mad?” Taeyeon said a little scared.

These two took seats on a bench on the side of a path rather than walk the path.

He sighed again, “Nah. I’m not mad. Just… sad.”

“I’m sorry, it all just happened”, Taeyeon began to unknowingly pout, “I was planning on telling you, but Hyun Joong suddenly admitted his feelings for me.”

“It’s okay… It’s just he gets all the girls!” Donghae gave himself a face palm as he laughed innocently. “Don’t worry, I’m not mad or sad. I’m happy actually. You changed him back to who he is.”

“It wasn’t just me”, Taeyeon smiled slightly, “It was all of us, he just needed an extra push.”

“You know, we’re lucky it turned out this way.” Taeyeon smiled, “Could have gotten messy!”

Hyun Joong took her hand, “Nah it’s not luck! It’s called having friends. Having people who love you till the end. Without their friendship and love it could have gotten messy.”

“It’s surprising how close we’ve gotten in such a short time huh?” Taeyeon hugged Hyun Joong’s arm. “Started with only a coat.”

“Heh I think Ji Eun still has my coat...” Hyun Joong chuckled, “There’s something I forgot.”

“What, your coat?” Taeyeon looked at him with clueless expression.

“No forget the coat”, Hyun Joong turned to face Taeyeon, “Don’t you think we should make this official?”

“What’re you talking about?”

Hyun Joong sighed, “You know, you’re lucky your cluelessness is overshadowed by your looks. Anyways, Kim Taeyeon, will you go out with me?”

I swear if she says “where” I’m going to end up with a big red mark on my face from the face palm I’d give myself.

Taeyeon smiled, “Hmmm”, she sure as hell took her time, “yes.”

Hyun Joong smiled and laughed as he picked Taeyeon as he embraced her with a bear hug. He spun her around multiple times before letting her down. He calmed himself down and waited for her laughter to disperse before he slyly took his kiss.

Technically my first kiss I wasn’t sure what to expect. It was sweet, and energizing. Her warm breath comforted me; it urged me forward as my hands gently held her face. We broke apart slowly the both of us smiling.

We continued down the path, filled with snow that also covered the trees that lay aligned parallel to it. Every step I took with her made me into a better person, I look forward to spending my life with this girl because I know we will always be walking together.

(AN: I wasn’t planning on ending it so early, but I felt like the story was lacking some creativity. This couple, Hyun Joong and Taeyeon is one of the pairings I really like. Since they’re so rarely put together and since they both have such strong personalities.

I think somebody else could make a much better story with these two as a pair. So for any of you out there that like the idea of this pair give it a try! I’ll most likely read it!

For all those that actually read this story I thank you so much. I appreciate it! And I’m sorry the ending was so sudden and lame. If I get enough comments or requests about continuing the story I’m willing to!

I already have another story on my mind, and the characters are already determined.

But before I write that one, I’d be happy to take some suggestions. Maybe who you would want my next story to be about. Could even be oneshots, I have yet to write a oneshot but I’m willing to give it a go.
