Thirty Nine
The RoommateTWO WEEKS SINCE JONGHYUN'S DEPARTURE
Seungyeon awoke Monday morning with a renewed sense of determination. Today, she decided she would finally start getting her life back on track.
So what if she was currently 0 for 2 on her list life goals? That meant she could just skip directly on the third one: get to work on her career.
It's been two weeks since Jonghyun's enlistment and to help her adjust with the new situation, she decided to stay at her parents' for the time being. And today she'd gotten especially early, so she could catch her mother at breakfast.
"Good morning" Seungyeon chirped, sliding in a chair across the table from Mrs Yoo.
Her mother glanced up to regard her over the top of her glasses.
"You're up early, dear," she commented, before returning her attention back to the newspaper she's reading.

"I wanted to talk to you about something," she explained, giving her the most charming smile.
Mrs Yoo eyed her with a mix of curiousity and skepticism.
"I was wondering if ..." Seungyeon took a deep breath, "I was wondering if you might have an internship position available at Appa's restaurant. Just until my sageuk drama ends."
"For you?" Mrs Yoo looked taken aback, and Seungyeon's carefully-built confidence plummeted.
"Well, I know I don't have a lot of experience, but I can learn a lot just by watching you and Appa cook, and you know that I'm... I'm a hardworker
