Twenty Six
The Roommate"Is this really serious?" Soojung asked quietly.
Seungyeon couldn't stop the grin from spreading across her face. "Soojung-ah, I'm crazy about him."
"Do you love him?"
"Yes!" she admitted excitedly, "I love him a lot."
"Don't take this the wrong way, unnie. But uhm, isn't it a little irresponsible that you two are living together?" Soojung asked cautiously, careful not to offend her.
Letting out a sigh, Seungyeon answered, "We're trying to be adults about it."
"So... how did all this happened?" Soojung asked, breaking the ice and lifting the tension, "I mean I've always felt something was brewing between the two of you. But I'm curious about the details."
"Does your families know?"
"How about your company? Your manager? How about Jeongyeon?"
"How do you treat each other at home? Do you sleep in the same room now?"
"WHOAH WHOA. One question at a time please." Seungyeon laughed.
And so Seungyeon told her. She was honest about the flirty first days they had, that were quickly put to rest once Changmin came into the picture. And about the banter that was always there; teasing and tempting them.
She told her about being invited to FNC's Halloween Party, a little about their baking night, and their midnight date at the beach. She told her how they adjust to the situation by maintaining an understandable distance from each other, by still sleeping in each other's rooms. She told her how his stare would pierce through her nape every time he would steal glances from her.
But most of all, she told her how she coudln't believe that out of all people in Korea, she had the rarest chance of being roommates with a guy like Jonghyun and that she fell for him. To her, he was not CNBlue's Burning Guitarist Lee Jonghyun. To her, he was simply her roommate.
And by the time she was finished sharing it all, in behalf of Minhyuk, Soojung gave them their blessing. "So it all started with those damn cookies huh?"
"Yep! Those cookies sure did the trick!" Seungyeon laughed. "Who would've thought a dessert like that could start a relationship?"
"But unnie, you should be careful. Their fans are really possessive." There was a hint of sadness in Soojung's voice. "I know you shouldn't pay attention to their comments but some of them
