I can’t believe it’s over, but, Wandering Lunacy has come to an end. I’m in tears right now. Honestly, I never thought I’d complete this. There was so much to this, that I believed it would take sixty plus chapters to finish. And, I did under thirty (if you exclude the title ‘part’ chapters). But, this story came out to be, 130,700 + words. I mean, I’m in awe at how much I wrote for this story, in a little under a year. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not bragging, I’m just insanely proud of myself. I’ve been on many different writing sites before, and I’ve never been able to finish a story. And seeing as this is my first chaptered story on AFF, I’m just…I’m speechless honestly.

The reason I’m writing this chapter, isn’t just to say goodbye; but, to also clear up some minuscule details that you may, or may not have over looked while reading. Or some questions I’ve gotten personally asked over the time I’ve been writing.

#1: Does General Roe ever find out about Ming Hao being his son?

In my opinion, no. The reason I say this, is because I’ve written Ming Hao as a coward. It’s been shown in many instances. First when he kicked Mei out (not literally) because of her connections to North Korea. And then when he fled to Taiwan, when he didn’t want to get involved further with her. When he found out that General Roe was his father, he freaked. Especially because that was the same guy who locked Mei in a freezer.

As for General Roe, once he received the news that Tai Yu (Ming Hao) was surely alive, due to the fact that Min gave him DNA evidence: he spent the rest of his life looking for him. It’s a bit sad, seeing as Ming Hao knows but won’t tell him. But, the reason I didn’t specifically mention it, is because I want everyone to come up with their own ending. If you believe Ming Hao should meet and have a relationship with General Roe, that’s cool. If you don’t, that’s cool too. It’s up to you.

#2: What about Min? Do they meet in the future?

I like to think so. Honestly, I really loved Min. He’s so incredibly flawed, and has literally nothing going for him in life: and found out his parents are a bunch of tards. In my mind, sometime in the far future (when Mei is like in her early thirties) they meet at some rundown café. In which Min tells her how he ended up marrying Yoon A, and the two of them ran away together—leaving behind the triad to a trusted colleague (the one Mei met when she first met Min ‘ten’). He tells her how Yoon A just had their first born child. And then Mei tells him about her life, and they agree to meet up twice a month.

Again, this is just my opinion. I also have a huge soft spot for Min, so my opinion may be a little biased. You may think it would be better if Min and Mei never meet again. It’s up to you.

#3: Why did you kill off Charlie?

That’s a tough question. Honestly, I’ve always planned to kill him off—and I thought about doing so when he first got shot; but, I was like ‘nah’ to early. You see, Charlie was Mei’s push for everything. While Jun and Ming Hao continuously told her to ‘relax and be chill’ Charlie was like that annoying voice in her head saying ‘do it!’ and when she asked why, he’d respond ‘you gotta’.

His death was needed to show that Mei could make her opinion, and go on in life doing her own thing. That she doesn’t need Charlie there saying you’ve got to do it. His death, although in vain, was much needed. Besides, Charlie was always talking about death it was bound to happen. There’s no way he would’ve settled down and had a family. Not when his whole life was centered around avenging Da Wei.

#4: What about Mei’s parents?

The main reason I didn’t include the trial in the story, is because there’s no way I could do justice to it. My main priority was always about Mei’s happiness. Including the trial, and all the tragedy’s that would be brought up because of it, was not something I wanted to do. I was hoping that the ending chapter, everyone could come to the conclusion that Mei still has a lot ahead of her; but, still managed to become happy.

I’d like to think, that Officer Suen (Charlie’s partner) gave all credit for the investigation to Charlie. That China gives Charlie some sort of award for finding out the secret fake defectors. That Mei’s parents get prosecuted, and put on (ultimately) death row. And that everyone’s families who were torn apart and destroyed by them, got the justice they deserved.

#5: What about Mei and Jun?

Ah yes, the romance that was very little included. First off, I’m not very good at writing romance, so the little that I did, I feel accomplished. I hope everyone kind of came to understand that the reason I didn’t put the typical ‘future ending’ of them getting married, and having kids: was that it probably wouldn’t work with them. Their relationship is still very complicated. Because, Jun’s parents still dislike Mei after everything that happened between them and her parents.

In my opinion, I doubt they ever get married; but, instead stay together just as a couple. If they do get married, it’ll probably be around their thirties. Again, it’s a personal opinion. You may think differently, and that’s totally cool. I left it an open ending for a reason.

#6: Does Ming Hao ever start dating?

So, this funny little question was messaged to me a few weeks ago after someone (I won’t say who) read through some of my chapters and felt like Ming Hao has a problem with talking to girls. Which is obviously referenced throughout, even in the last chapter. I’m not quite sure if he does ever date; though, I’m sure he does at some point. But it’ll probably be with the help of Mei and Jing Jing. They probably set him up on a series of blind dates, until he finds a girl that he likes.

So, have no fear, Ming Hao does exit the awkward ‘ew girls’ stage at some point.

#7: And finally, what about Mi Ja?

Ugh, that . Okay, no; I actually love her. I found her to be one of my stronger females (her, Yoon A, and Mei are strong but she has an army of men who will do anything for her…she wins.) when writing. Although, she was obviously a complete that stepped on peoples toes easily. Far too easily. I actually loved her, a lot. She had a sad story (like everyone) but (unlike everyone) she couldn’t deal with it. I feel like, after helping Mei, her life is just focused around drinking and doing bad things. She doesn’t really have any point in life; because, she has no one to live for. Hyun is dead, she doesn’t know who Tai Yu is, Min dislikes her, and Mei can’t stand her. She and General Roe don’t get along either; and the only man she ever loved is evil as hell. So, she has nothing.

In my honest opinion, she dies early. Maybe two or so years after helping Mei. Probably from liver failure from all the drinking. It’s sad; but, I honestly see no reason for her wanting to live on.

Anyways, here’s the end, the actual end. Oh God, I honestly don’t know what to say. As said before, I’ve never finished any of my writing. I guess, what I’ll leave you all with, is that I have a mini-surprise for you. I’ve decided to create a new story based around Seventeen’s performance unit. It has nothing to do with Wandering Lunacy; but, it’s dedicated to all the readers who stayed with this story even though it was a hell of a ride. Through all my slow updates, and crazy plot twists: thank you.
