"Mom, Haneul hyung is ready. Krystal noona went inside the car already” Andrei shouted Shinhye, who was in a hurry fixing her stuff before going to work.

“Young man, why are you so excited? You’ve been coming with me to work for a week now”

Andrei excitedly went outside and ride inside the car. Shinhye followed.

“Mommy, is Uncle Minho going to be there in your meeting? I haven’t seen him for a week now, the last time was his birthday. And he hasn’t replied to my messages too.”

“Andrei, he will not be there because he is in Hongkong for a meeting” Shinhye replied Andrei, while flipping some papers she reads.

“Ok. I thought I could see him today” An obvious disappointment was seen from Andrei after hearing his mother’s reply. He stared out of the car window and sighed.

Shinhye stole a side glance at her son, it pained her seeing him like this, but this is what she wanted and asked.

A week ago…

“He really is my son, we have a son” Minho murmured staring at Shinhye

“I don’t want to repeat it again Lee Min Ho, we are fine without you. Please don’t make our life complicated.” Shinhye said almost pleading

“Why? Why didn’t you tell me? If only I knew I would…”

“How dare you tell me I didn’t tell you?! Your grandmother was…” Shinhye cut Minho’s sentence and her reply was suddenly cut by Andrei, who weakly went out of his room to look for his mother.

“Mommy, Uncle Minho, what are you talking about? *cough cough*

“A-Andrei, sweetie, how do you feel? You still have fever, you need to go back to your room and wait for me there” Shinhye hurriedly assisted Andrei

Minho quickly wipe the tears in his eyes and ran towards Andrei, he was quick to carry Andrei, “Hey young man, you do what your mom is telling you ok, you need to be well”

Andrei was puzzled with what was happening, he doesn’t know what his mom and Uncle Minho was talking about, because he barely understand Hangul, but he was surprised to see Minho eyes fresh from crying.

Andrei looked into Minho’s eyes “Why did you cry?”

“I did not, something just got into my eye, your mom helped me to remove it” Minho lied while he carry Andrei back to the room. Shinhye was following them

“How do you feel now Sweetie?” Shinhye asked when Minho put down Andrei on the bed

“Better, and hungry” he grins

“Ok I will cook something, wait for mommy here” Andrei nodded

“Lee Min ho-ssi, can you please think about what I told you and not do anything reckless” Shinhye diverted to Minho telling him in Hangul which Andrei did not understand.

Minho nodded just staring at Andrei. Shinhye left the room and quickly went to the kitchen to cook.

“Andrei, you really feel better now? Is there something in you that hurts or do you need anything?” Minho worriedly asked Andrei

“I feel better, don’t worry” he smiled at Minho which melted his heart

Minho’s thought, “You are mine, my son. The fruit of our love, why must fate be cruel to us that I did not know about you, I am a bad father, a bad person to hurt the woman I most love”

“What were you thinking? You’re just staring at me” Andrei’s voice zapped Minho back to reality

“I was wondering, if I have a son, I want a son like you…”

“Oh, hehe… If you like my mommy and mommy likes you, that would make me your son… but I doubt, mom only loved one man, although so many tried to woo my mom, none of them won, it’s either I didn’t like them for her or she really didn’t like them” Andrei said

“Only one man? Your father?” Minho further asked

“I doubt if he is my father, my father didn’t love my mom, he abandoned her when he found out she was pregnant with me, and he doesn’t like me” Andrei’s tone was low and sad upon telling Minho

Minho was taken aback hearing Andrei, it was like a knife that stabbed his heart million times. He moved and sat beside Andrei on the bed.

“I don’t think that’s true, any father will be proud to have a son like you, a son to the woman he loved most”

Andrei looked at Minho “That’s not true, if he loves mom, he should have been there for her, he should’ve not left her, and most of all not abandoned me. I hate him, if one day I meet him, I will not recognize him, he don’t deserve me and mom”

Minho’s tears fell, no words came out from his mouth, and he just hugged Andrei and savor the moment.

“I am sorry, so sorry” Minho told Andrei kissing his head “my son I am so sorry” he said whispering on Andrei, which he didn’t hear

“Don’t say sorry, you are not my father,” Andrei smiled and pulled away from Minho

Minho’s phone rang, a call from his halmoni “Sorry I’ll just take this call”

Andrei nodded. Minho proceeded to the balcony, at the same time Shinhye came with porridge on a tray to feed Andrei.

Andrei was really hungry, hefinished the bowl of porridge that Shinhye was feeding him so quick.

“You’re really hungry, you finished the porridge fast” Shinhye pinched Andrei’s nose

“Because your cooking is the best!” he replied to his mother

“Aigoo, here, take this medicine so that you’ll feel better as fast as how you finished your porridge” Shinhye taking care of Andrei while she notice Minho was on the phone at the balcony.

“Ok Jiwon, will be there in an hour or two, tell halmoni araso? Thanks” Minho hanged up and just stared at Shinhye and Andrei. Their laughter was heard from where he is, he felt happy at the same time hurt, that the woman he loved most bare his child, but they both hate him.

Andrei noticed the crease on Minho’s forehead and he knew that he is bothered with something, “Uncle Minho, it’s late, sorry that you celebrate your birthday like this” Andrei apologized

Minho sat down beside Andrei, “you know what, this is the best birthday I ever had” he caressed Andrei’s cheeks

“Sweetie, your Uncle Minho needs to go, he said he has dinner with his grandmother and his fiancé” the last word came out of Shinhye’s mouth as if she is signaling a message to Minho

“You already have a fiancé? Sorry for bothering you, I hope she doesn’t get mad at you that you spent your birthday like this.” He was shocked knowing Minho already has a fiancé but Andrei’s disappointment was obvious

“Hey, I said this is my best birthday ever, you are the reason this day is special Andrei” He raised Andrei’s chin up and smiled. “I better get go now, you take a rest and promise me you’ll get well soon! My birthday wish belongs to you Andrei, that you’ll always be well” Minho kissed Andrei’s forehead.

“Sweetie, I’ll just send Minho outside, you stay here and wait for me ok?” Shinhye asked Andrei and he nodded

“Thank you for your birthday gift, I really like the soccer ball pendant on the necklace, see I wore it the moment I opened your gift, one day we’ll play soccer together” Minho hugged Andrei and kissed his head meaningfully

“You are welcome, glad you liked it, it fits you, have a safe drive home and see you soon Uncle Minho, Happy birthday again”

Minho smiled at him and waved goodbye, he made one last look at his son before he opened the door and left, Shinhye followed behind.

“I’ll get this straight, Lee Minho-ssi, I don’t want you be close to my son” Shinhye uttered without looking at him

“You have not given me the right to know about Andrei 10years ago, and now that I knew and met him, you are not giving me my right as his father? How can I make up to him then? Do you know how much he hates me?” Minho sadly replied Shinhye

“Not as much as I hate you, I don’t know what triggered him to hate his father but just to lessen all our pains, it will be just right to keep everything the same, as if you didn’t know, forget us, just make your own family now since you are getting married soon, have a safe drive” Shinhye turned her back without waiting for Minho’s reply, she locked the door and leaned her back at the backdoor, she stared at the window looking after Minho, tears fell from her eyes, “I’m sorry Minho, and I’m sorry Andrei”

“I won’t let this pass, I need to find out what happened. Andrei, my son, I hope you can forgive Appa, I love you…and your mom. I hope both of you can forgive me.” Minho said to himself before he drove off to his halmoni’s place.

“Mommy, how long will your meeting last?” Andrei’s voice brought Shinhye back from a deep thinking.

“Why are you asking sweetie?”

“I was thinking if we can go out, like arcade or just stroll around, but that’s after your work mom” Andrei suggested

“Seems a good idea, I will just have meeting today and visit the site, then we’ll go visit halmoni first then we’ll eat out after, you like that?” Shinhye told Andrei

Andrei beamed at his mother, “Sure thing mom!”

“Uncle Minho!!!” Andrei shouted upon seeing Minho at the lobby of Sutherlands building

Minho was busy talking to his staff when he heard Andrei but pretended that he did not hear him and continue with was he is doing until they reached the elevator, it pained him seeing his son and not able to hug or kiss him. He was supposed to be in Hongkong but insisted that Han Woo JIn will go and he’ll attend the Emerald City meeting instead. Not knowing to Woo Jin, Minho purposely did that so that he’ll be able to see Shinhye and Andrei, since his birthday he was busy travelling to China and Japan so he grabbed the chance today to see them.
