Chapter 16
The Rebellious Bride
I opened my eyes; dark shapes were dancing around me. I closed it by the fear, since the recovery of my accident, I had not seen this dream in which long and deformed figures, were chasing me while I ran with my injured leg.
The strange sounds stopped and I opened again calmer, now the light was so strong that it felt as if golden arrows were piercing my eyes.
I covered my eyes, but through the separation of my fingers I manage to see someone leaning towards me, holding the hand which with recently clung the skirt of my dress.
"Mir, is you?" I murmured
"Yes, it's me"
I open my eyes widely; I’m sitting against the trunk of the tree behind the church. The same one where few days ago I thought he was going to kiss me, the same in which I kissed him.
Small shadows are drawn in his hair, touching his forehead.
I can hardly move, only with his help I can get up, but something strange happens. To my mind come a series of blurred images. Gradually I achieve distinguish what appears, he kissing me back, and then wearing a suit of white and gold . Huge wings come out of his back.
I pushed his hand and stepped back.
"I feared this" he said with ruefully tangible "that maybe you will walk away from me after knows the truth of who I am"
"I was not dreaming?"
He shakes his head and opens the hand, I see some leaves that starts to disappear but what worries me more is that his hand looks translucent.
"Why?"
"I will disappear, Jin Ah"
"What did you say?"
"My time here is running out, so as the connection of my world with this"
"That cannot be" I said refusing to accept that everything I saw is true "is absurd" I said out loud
"You have to believe, this is the only way for me to be close to you" he approaches, but I walk away more.
"Do not"
"Then I better go" he turned ready to leave me there alone "There is no point to continue near you. You reject me; you look at me as I am going to hurt you"
My reaction is logical, not believing in a fantasy world. If I were a child I would believe, but my rational being tells me that everything is product of an intense heat or something else.
How I'm going to believe that I saw my grandmother and I talked with her, when she is dead. That I must marry Mir for the alleged promise she made and not fulfilled.
"And ..." I look at him, he looks exhausted. It could be certain that his body suffered the consequences for the big effort he made taking me to his world "what I'm saying"
He took two steps then on an impulse, I surrounded his body squeezing my arms as I could.
"Wake me up again, erase from my memory all that, and be again the strange Mir who came from the United States. The man I could not stand, although is irresistible for me"
"I cannot" he responded
"Go back to being the Mir ..." I could hardly speak, but I have to "The Mir I like so much"
"You like me" he turned and grabbed my hand "but you not love me"
"So what?" I retorted
"To make you marry me, you must love me"
When he said it, my body shuddered and I separated from him, rejecting the idea.
"No way" I replied decided not to grant, even a bit of my freedom "You might be a fairy, angel or something, but married ..." I shook my head
"If you thought as the little girl who followed me everywhere, what would you do?"
"I grew up, and discovered that illusions remains few years with us. When we grow up, childhood’s dreams disappear"
