absolute“Whatever happens, life goes on.”
“Yeah.” A 22 year old Myungsoo says through the phone as he shuffles around the foreign airport. “Yeah, mom, I get it. Yes, mom. Yes, yes, I’m on my way. Mom,” he groans as he stops walking. “Mom, I’m a grown up boy, I know how to take care of myself.” He facepalms himself as his mom keeps blabbering on the other line. “I know how to fetch a cab, yes, mom, yes, okay—“ he looks to the left and right and breathes. “I love you too.”
Finally.
He fixes the scarf that nicely wrapped around his neck as he walks outside from the airport. The unfamiliar morning breeze greets him softly and he could see the very big ‘HOLLYWOOD’ sign even from where he stands. He smiles faintly, taking out his Nikon that not everyone knows what model that is, and captures the breathtaking view.
Satisfied with the result, he hangs the camera around his neck and breathes deeply.
A new day, a new country, a new self.
“Let’s have a new start.” He whispers to himself, gripping tightly on the handle of his luggage.
“Welcome to California, Kim Myungsoo!”
