Chapter 10 – CHAERIN’S ROOM

Chaerin’s POV

He saw it. He’d seen it. He’d seen my everything. Everything. My everything. TT^TT

How can I forget to lock the door? I’m so stupid. TT^TT

How could this happen to me? Of all people. Of all places. Why does it have to be me? Why does it have to be me in that shower with nothing on? Why?! Why?! Why?! TT^TT

How can I face him? How can I face everyone? How can I face the world? TT^TT

Nothing is more embarrassing than that. How? Why? Why? TT^TT

I hear the door open. I’m here under the cover of my bed so I couldn’t see who came in. Oh please let it be not him. Please.

“Miss Chaerin?”

“Yes?” I said still under the covers.

“It’s time for breakfast. Your parents are waiting for you at the dining area.”

“I’m not hungry. Please tell them I’m still sleepy.”

“Yes Miss Chaerin.”

“Thanks.”

Sleepy? That’s like the understatement of the day. How can I be sleepy? I couldn’t sleep the whole night. All I could remember was that scene at the shower. Yes I managed to sleep, but even in my dreams all I could see was the expression on his face. With his eyes widen and his mouth open. I will never forget that. Now I have no idea what he’s thinking. I bet he’s laughing at me. Laughing at my stupidity. How can I be so stupid? TT^TT

“Miss Chaerin?”

“Yes?”

“I’m sorry to disturb you. It’s lunch time.”

“I’m not hungry.”

“Okay ma’am.”

“Thanks.”

I hear the door open again. Who’s that?

“Chaerin?”

“Mom?”

“Are you okay?”

“Yes Mom.”

“Are you sure? Aren’t you hungry? You haven’t had your breakfast.”

“I’m fine Mom.”

“Are you sick?”

“I’m fine Mom. I’m just tired from yesterday. I want to sleep more.”

“You’re sure you’re okay huh?”

“Yes Mom.”

“Okay.”

I hear the door open again. Oh please.

“Hey.”

That voice. I know that voice. I know whose voice is that.

“Hey Chaerin.”

Oh please. Go away.

“Chaerin?” he said and I feel his hand poking my leg.

“Yes?” I said and hold the blanket tighter.

“It’s time for dinner.” He said. Why is he here? What is he doing here? Shouldn’t he be staying in his apartment?

“I’m not hungry.” I said.

“Mom said you didn’t eat breakfast and lunch. Don’t tell me you’re not hungry.”

“I’m really not hungry.”

“They said you’re here the whole day. Are you okay? Are you sick?”

“No. I’m fine.”

“Are you sure? Let me see.” He said and I feel him sit on the bed and started tugging the covers.

Let him see? What does he want to see? He’d seen enough.

“WAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH”

“Hey what’s wrong?”

“Go away!”

“What?”

“Get out!”

“What’s wrong?”

“I said go away!”

“Huh? Why?”

Why?! Why?! You’re asking me why?! TT^TT I didn’t give him an answer. There was a long period of silence when…

“HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA” I hear him laugh. How dare you laugh at me.

“So that’s what it is huh?” he said. “That’s why you’re here the whole day.” He said and laughed again. Yeah, I’m glad you find me funny.

“You’re unbelievable. Seriously Chaerin?” He said in between his laughs.

“I hate you.” TT^TT

“Hah, acting like you’re so innocent. If I know, you planned that scene last night.” He said.

“What?” I said freeing my face away from the cover.

“You’re crying?”

You’re asking me if I’m crying? No , Sherlock. I glare at him and he laughed.

“You planned everything. You hit your stereo in its maximum volume so that I would be disturbed next door. Of course you know I’ll scold you so you purposely unlocked your door so that I could see you there in the shower. Hah, I knew it.”

“What?!”

“I can’t believe you Chaerin. You’re unbelievable.”

“What are you talking about?!”

“You were planning to seduce me. Well, actually that was hot. Seeing you there all wet and-“

“Get out!” I exclaimed and kicked him.

“Ouch.” He fell on the floor. Yeah, serves him right.

“Go away! Get out!”

“Hah, you and your motives. I know.” He said and sat again on my bed.

“I hate you! Get out here. This is trespassing.”

“What?”

“You’re entering someone else’s room. Someone else’s bathroom.”

“You’re door wasn’t locked. You didn’t lock it.”

“I locked it!”

“You didn’t. How can I enter last night if you locked it? You purposely unlocked it. Admit it Chaerin.”

“What?! You’re unbelievable. How could you?!” I exclaimed.

“How could I? It’s you. How could you?”

“Get out here. Go away.” I said and hid under the covers.

“Oh Chaerin, there’s no need to hide. You don’t have to hide. I’ve seen it all.”

“AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH”

“Hey! What’s wrong with you? Don’t scream.”

“You’re a bad person. You’re rude. How could you oppa?” TT^TT

“Stop that. Let’s go. It’s time for dinner. Come on.”

“No.”

“Let’s go.” He said and started tugging the covers.

“No!” I said and hold the covers tighter.

“No. Come on. Let’s eat.”

“NOOOO.”

“YES.”

“Noooooooo.”

“Chaerin.” He exclaimed and there, he managed to pull the covers away. He’s strong. T_T

“No.”

“You didn’t eat the whole day. There’s no way you’re not taking dinner.”

“But I’m not hungry.” I said. He stares at me with his hands on his hips.

“Fine.” He said and come closer to me.

“Hey hey what are you doing?” I said ‘cause he’s holding me.

“If I have to carry you downstairs just for you to eat then fine. You want me to feed you? Fine.” He's so close to me. Our face are just inches apart. I stare at him. How could he be so handsome?

“No no no I’m fine. Okay I’m coming.” I said snapping myself out of my reverie and pushing him away.

“Good. Let’s go.”

I walk after him as we made our way downstairs and into the dining room.

“Oh Chaerin, you’re okay now?” Dad asked.

“I’m fine Dad.”

“I thought you’re sick.” Mom said.

“No Mom. I’m okay.”

I settled myself on my spot. It’s the chair opposite Mom. Jiyong-oppa took the seat.. beside me?

“You were asleep the whole day Chaerin.” Mom said.

“Is that because of whole day sleeping or you were crying.” Dad asked.

“Huh?” I asked.

“You’re eyes. They’re sore.” Mom said.

“She was crying.” Oppa said.

“What? No I wasn’t crying. I was asleep.”

“You were crying.” He said.

“Huh? Why are you crying Chaerinnie?” Mom asked.

“Because I saw her-“ I cut him off and covered his mouth.

“Oppa kicked me.” I said and glare at him.

“What?” Both Mom and Dad exclaimed.

“No I didn’t. It’s you who kicked me. I fell on the floor.” Jiyong-oppa defended.

“You deserve it.” I said.

“You see that Mom? Chaerin is violent. You should punish her.” Oppa said.

“Punish me? You’re the one who should be punished.” I said.

“What? Mom she kicked me. Do something.” He said.

“No Mom. I’m innocent. I didn’t do anything.”

“Mom.” Oppa said.

“No Mom.”

“Alright that’s enough. Let’s eat.” Dad said.

“But Dad.” Jiyong-oppa protested.

“What?” Dad asked.

“I think there’s a bias treatment here.” Oppa said crossing his arms and leaning against his chair.

“Chaerin is the favorite daughter Jiyong.” Dad said.

“See, I knew it.” He murmured.

“And you’re the favorite son.” Mom said.

“Though they love me more.” I said. Oppa just glared at me.

I took a shower and brushed my teeth. I made sure to lock the door. I don’t want a part two from the scene last night.

I went out of the bathroom and made my way to my bed when I saw a trespasser lying on my bed.

“What are you doing here?” I asked. He just ignored me and kept on scrolling his phone.

“Hey!” I exclaimed. He didn’t say anything. What is he doing here?

“Turn off the lights before you sleep.” He said and covered his eyes with his arm.

“You’re going to sleep here?” I asked. No way.

“…..”

“Oppa.”

“What?”

“You’re room is next door. This is my room. This is my bed.”

“I’m tired.” He said.

“Then go to your room.”

“No.” he said shaking his head. What?

“Go.”

“No.”

“Oppa.”

“I’m tired.” He said and gave me an exhausted look. “I can’t manage to walk. Just let me sleep here.” he continued and turned his back on me.

Aish. Now what?

I sat on the opposite side of the bed and stare at him. Jiyong oppa.. I've never seen him like this before. This is a different Jiyong. Aish. Fine. I turned off the lights and lay down. How can I sleep if he’s here beside me? It's a queen-sized bed. Heol.

First he got mad when I opened up about the Divorce, and now he's here with me. I my left facing his back. Oppa... could it be that..

“Chaerin.” he said changing his position. Now we're facing each other. This is uncomfortable. Seriously.

“Eh?”

“Is it okay with you if I sleep here?” he asked. Now he’s asking me if it’s okay? After all those protests earlier? Heol. Well, I don’t know if I could sleep if he’s here but…

“It’s fine. You can sleep here.” I replied. He just stare at me. I don't know if he's weighing or analyzing my statement or thinking of something. But this look on his face, I don't know.

“No it’s not.” He said and got up. Huh?

“Chaerin.” He said.

“Yes?”

“I’m sorry about last night. Please remember to lock the door next time. I don’t want anyone seeing you like that. Goodnight.”
