Chapter 13:

Suzy was still stood there in disbelief.

“So girls aren’t your thing anymore?” she asked him as she playfully patted his arm. She was still shocked, but she was slowly beginning to accept it. “In Korea?” she asked him knowing what the situation was like over there.

“Well… you’d be surprised!” He said finally looking up at her. Yes, she had been his best friend and first love but now he needed her to be his friend and he didn’t want to hide anything from her.

“How long has it been? When can I meet him, I mean I am your best friend after all!” She asked. Mark’s cheeks began to redden.

“Relax! It’s only been a few months….” He began to say, “But I won’t let you meet him!” He teased whilst sticking his tongue out and playfully patted her shoulder. Suzy pouted as she crossed her arms and turned away from him however, she realised that he was reiterating their long running joke. She was about to walk away when she remembered something.

“How did you…. know?” She asked him hinting at his uality.

“I didn’t.” He replied in a matter of fact manner. “It sort of just….. happened!” he continued to say. Satisfied with his answer, she began walking away.

“See you tomorrow, Mark!” She yelled as she walked in to the elevator. He waved back at her and entered his hotel room.

‘It’s been one hell of a week!’ he silently thought to himself as he lied down on his bed. It has only been a few days yet the events that had occurred lately made it seem much longer. Running his fingers through his hair, he began to think a million and one thoughts. Suddenly he jumped up and began rummaging around for his phone. Once he had found it, he began looking for the one important name on his phone, Jinyoung. He tapped the name and waited for it to ring.

“Hello! This is Jinyoung’s phone, you’re speaking to Jackson, how may I help you?” he heard him say whilst laughing, which took him by surprise. ‘What was Jackson doing with Jinyoung’s phone?’ He began to question.

“Is Jinyoung there?” He asked Jackson. At that moment he heard Jinyoung asking for his phone back from a refusing Jackson. ‘What were they doing, together?’ He thought further as he felt a strange tinge of jealousy.

“Sorry, Mark. Jackson thinks he’s hilarious.” Jinyoung replied whilst laighing. Mark also heard Jackson protesting in the background. He then remembered their encounter with Jackson at the movie theatre. ‘Did Jackson have a thing for Jinyoung? Is that why he approached them that day and only spoke to Jinyoung?’ Mark had an array of thoughts going through his mind at once that he found it difficult to continue the conversation.

“I’ll call you back another time, Jinyoung,” he stated not wanting to speak anymore. He knew that he would say something stupid which he would greatly regret and so tried to refrain from doing so.

Jinyoung however, was confused. Mark never really called him by his name lately, but rather a pet name ‘Jinnie’ and so realised something must be up.
