Onyx’s POV
After saying bye, Onyx and Aaron headed towards their car. “So what do you think of Hyoyeon? Do you think she is going to put in a good word for you?” “Don’t know but she seems nice,” Onyx replied as she put her bags into the trunk. “Any chance that you might actually try to have her as a friend, I mean it seems like we might be bumping into her a lot. Plus, she is in a close social circle to Youngji’s girlfriend.” Aaron dragged out girlfriend, just to prove a useless point. “Won’t hurt to play nice, anyway, do you want to start the car or are you just going to sit there?” “I’m going! I was answering a text. Can’t text and drive, remember. Of course you wouldn’t, you haven’t driven a car since you got your license.” The last part was dripping with sarcasm, that Onyx could not pass up the chance to hit Aaron on the head. “Ouch! Anyway, I was talking to your parent’s friends, and they said that they would love for you to go to their house. Also she sounded excited about her daughter going, so I am guessing they want you two to become friends. Hey, do they know that she used to bully you? Also, why exactly are you doing this? From the looks of it, there really is no closure that you could get from this.” “I guess I am going to be facing my past a lot earlier then I would have liked, and are you serious? They didn’t know she was bullying me, I kind of kept quiet about that. Plus, back then it didn’t really matter; I had my Hero there to help me out. You know what's funny though; my Hero’s ‘best friend’ is the daughter of my parent’s best friends. Who also happens to be the girl who bullied me, but I never told my Hero. I just could not do that to her. You know, make her pick a side or choose to believe me over her friends.” Onyx stated with some anger at the thought of her childhood bully. “That aside, it’s not closure for me, I think they have the right to know what happened to my parents, or at least to know more of the truth then what the papers told.” Aaron just nodded his head, and decided to drop the subject, knowing that Onyx would have to deal with all that tomorrow. As they arrived to their hotel, both decided on some time alone before heading to the restaurant. Finally alone for the first time this whole trip, Onyx could finally completely relax. Changing into some comfortable clothes, she served herself a glass of Irish Crème and turned the TV on. ‘Hopefully there won’t be any drama tomorrow, and my bully changed. Besides I only have to deal with her for one evening. Then I don’t ever have to see her again. And I have to do this for my parents, so it up!’ Onyx reasoned with herself. She slowly started to drift off to sleep.
A Few Hours Later
“Alright boss, let’s get going. We have a butterfly to embarrass and a potential girlfriend to interrogate!” Aaron announced as he walked into Onyx’s room like it owned it. “You know, I am seriously regretting giving you the second copy of the key,” Onyx joked as she walked out of the restroom. Giving Onyx a once over, Aaron was impressed. “You look amazing! If you were straight and if I was single, I would totally be flirting with you right now.” Aaron complimented Onyx. Onyx just laughed, “As if your game could actually impress me!” “Ouch! I’m wounded.” Aaron dramatically said as he put his hand over his heart and another over his head as if he was fainting. “Alright calm down diva, you act as if you have never seen me dress up.” Onyx got her stuff and both of them left the room. “I have seen you dress up before, it’s just that your stylist isn’t here and you are as fashionable as a toddler. So how did this happen?” Aaron asked as he pointed to Onyx’s outfit. “Hyoyeon choose this outfit. She even told me how to do my hair and makeup.” Onyx simply answered as they left the lobby, and headed towards their car. “Wow, she has good taste.” Aaron spoke out loud. Once telling the driver where to go, both Onyx and Aaron mentally prepared themselves to find out if this Seohyun character was good enough for their butterfly.
At The Restaurant
Telling the hostess what party they belonged to, the hostess led them to Youngji and Seohyun. “Hello ladies,” Aaron greeted as he shook hands with Seohyun and hugged Youngji. Giving Seohyun a small nod, and Youngji a hug, Onyx took a sit right in front of Seohyun. After the introductions where given, and all four ordered, there was nothing but stares and silence. Feeling uncomfortable with the silence, Youngji coughed and gave Aaron a slight nudge underneath the table. “So, Seohyun, what do you do for a living?” Onyx asked as she went into Ice CEO Mode. Following Onyx’s lead, Aaron gave Seohyun a hard glare. “Well right now I am doing an internship at the same place Youngji is at. That’s how we meet, but I am studying to be a director. Hopefully one day I will own my company, or work for the best company.” Seohyun respectfully answered. “How long have you known Youngji?” Aaron was the next one to ask. “A few weeks after she moved here, she became my roommate after she got the internship.” “Remember how I told you the company offered housing; the only condition is that we room with someone who is also doing the internship.” Youngji added when Onyx didn’t look pleased with the idea of them two living together. “I pray for your wellbeing you two do not share rooms.” Onyx asked Seohyun as she gave her a warning glare. “Yes ma’am, we don’t share rooms. We only share the house.” At this point Seohyun was slightly scared of Onyx. “What are your intentions for Youngji?” Onyx continued on. “Nothing bad, I promise. It’s just that I have grown to care for her more than just a friend, and I would love to be in her life.” “Do you plan to court her the right way or just use her for your pleasures?” At this Seohyun could see that Youngji was right. Onyx and Aaron where not going to go easy on her and they were going to make sure that she was good enough for Youngji. “Yes ma’am. I courted her for a year before she said yes to a date. We have been dating for the past year, but we haven’t declared ourselves to be official just yet. Youngji wanted to wait till she got her closest friends to meet me.” “That would be you two, I wanted to wait till y’all meet her. She has already met my parents and sister, and they approve.” Youngji added. “Okay. Do you speak English?” “No.” At this Onyx and Aaron started to talk to Youngji in English. “Has she treated you right?” “Yes.” “Has she done anything to hurt as of now?” “No.” “How come Hyoyeon doesn’t know you two are dating? Is she embarrassed of you?” “No, it’s just that she wants to announce it when we become official. And that meant waiting for her to meet you two.” “Does anyone on her side know about you two?” “Yes, her family does. And I think some of her friends suspect that we are together, but haven’t said anything.” At this the food came and Seohyun nervously started to eat as the three of them continued to talk in English. “If we didn’t come to Seoul, when did you two plan to come to us?” “We are both getting a two week holiday in three months.” “How do you feel about her?” Youngji paused for a moment then answered, “I care for her a lot. I know I’m only 20, and I may seem childish, but I think I am starting to love her.” Allowing Youngji’s answer and expressions to sink in, both Onyx and Aaron shared a look. After a simple nod, both switched back to Korean so that Seohyun could understand, and Aaron spoke first. “Okay Seohyun, we can see that you both care for each other, therefore we will support the relationship.” “On one condition, if you so much as make Youngji cry or hurt her in anyway, we will personally come to you and beat the crap out of you. Then I will make sure that you never get a job behind or near the camera. I have the power and resources to make your life a living hell, and I am not scared to do so if I believe there is a reason to do so. Think of it as joining a mafia family, except this isn’t a movie; this is real life; real people and real weapons.” Onyx finished off with her most intimidating glare. Seohyun took a gulp and slowly nodded yes. ‘Man she is so scary! She is definitely giving Jessica a run for her money.’ Seohyun thought as Youngji grabbed her hand and smiled at her. “So, I guess this means you are now part of our family.” Aaron happily said. Upon noticing Seohyun face, Aaron continued on, “We wanted to see where you were standing. Trust me; I am not always mean and scary. Onyx on the other hand is a different story.” “Don’t worry honey, Onyx will warm up to you, for now she is keeping an eye on you.” Youngji tried to get Seohyun to relax a little bit. Relaxing in Youngji’s hold, Seohyun simply agreed and gave Onyx a small smile. Now that the hard part was over, the group started to have a normal conversation. Throughout the rest of the dinner, Onyx watched Seohyun and observed the way she would look at Youngji. Once dinner was finished, and both parties agreed to meet up again, they went their separate ways. “She seems okay. I feel like she can and will take good care of Youngji,” Onyx told Aaron as the driver took off. “Yeah I agree, so one dinner down, one dinner to go.” Aaron said with a small laugh. “How about tomorrow you take the day off. I was thinking earlier today, and I think it would be for the best if I take care of this one alone.” Onyx told Aaron, worried that he will make a big deal out of it. Taking some time to think it over, “That’s fine. I was going to propose that to, this is definitely something you have to do yourself.” “Thank you Aaron.” Onyx replied with as much respect and gratefulness that she could show with one expression. Aaron just gave her a small side hug and a reassuring smile. The rest of the drive home was quiet and peaceful. ‘Don’t worry mom and dad; everything will turn out just fine. As for my bully, Kwon Yuri, I won’t let you taunt me anymore.’
Author’s Note: I really am sorry that I haven't updated this in nearly a month, the thing is that I was away for a week, then my laptop broke so I couldn't use it, then I got uber sick and I am finally feeling a little bit better. In short, I have just been unable to update. Anyway, I update this Sunday. Once again thank you for reading and any feedback given is highly appreciated.
