Hyoyeon’s POV
“So I guess we should start shopping. What kind of clothes are you looking for?” “I am looking for some nice clothes to wear for dinner tonight. I packed some nice clothes, but they are to professional looking.” Onyx told Hyoyeon as they headed for the section that had the dresses. “But no dresses, I refuse to wear dresses.” Onyx added as they stopped in front of some really nice dresses. “Okay, how about a really pretty blouse and some gorgeous pants?” Hyoyeon asked as she led them to the blouses. With a simple nod, Hyoyeon looked through the racks and picked out three blouses. “Try these on and come out so I can see them.” Hyoyeon instructed Onyx while she led her to the changing rooms. Simply following her order, Onyx went in and changed. ‘Did I just order and push around my CEO?’ Hyoyeon asked herself as she sat in one of the chairs near the changing rooms. Before she had a chance to debate with herself; Onyx came out of the room. “Yes or no? Be honest okay.” Onyx asked Hyoyeon as she caught sight of Hyoyeon. Giving Onyx a once over, “It looks a bit too tight, and the arms look weird. So, it’s a no from me.” “Okay.”
After trying on the remaining items, they decided to move on to the next store. Once visiting half of the clothe stores in the mall, they both were done shopping.
“Since we still have half an hour to kill before we have to meet with the other two, why don’t we get some coffee?” Onyx suggested. Giving Onyx a nod yes, they walked to the nearest café. Right when Hyoyeon was about to open the door, it swung right open hitting her in the face and making her fall back. Onyx was able to catch her before she hit the ground, avoiding another injury. “Are you okay? I am so sorry!” The ‘attacker’ told Hyoyeon as he tried to help. Before she had a chance to reply, Onyx interfered. “Don’t worry, I’ll help her.” Pushing him aside and leading Hyoyeon inside to ask for a first aid kit and a cup of ice. Leading Hyoyeon to a table in the mid-back, Onyx left to get the things. ”Wait here, I will be right back.” Onyx told Hyoyeon, only leaving when she got a small nod from her. ‘Really Hyoyeon? You just had to go and get yourself hurt and embarrass herself in front of the CEO!’ Hyoyeon mentally screamed at herself, if her face was hurting already hurting she would be slamming it against the table right now. “You’re not thinking about slamming you head against the table, right?” Onyx asked Hyoyeon, who froze in her spot. Pausing for a second, she slowing lifted her head up and tried to smile, but that was a mistake. Wincing from the pain, Onyx quickly gave her the cup of ice and the napkins to clean the small smudge of blood. “The ice should help, and if you want I can run over to the convenience store and get you some pain killers or something.” Signaling a no, Hyoyeon just pressed the cup closer to her nose. “No need. My nose isn’t broken or anything and the ice seem to be helping.” Hyoyeon told Onyx while she gives her a small smile to show that she was fine. Both of them sat in an awkward silence, and since Hyoyeon can’t stand being in an awkward silence, she strikes up a conversation with Onyx. “So what was that back there? You didn’t even let me talk to the guy.” “Sorry about that, it's just that Aaron is a huge klutz that will trip over air if I wasn’t there to help the poor fella. As for why I rushed pasted him, well we usually have somewhere to be and it gets tiring having to apologize to every person that he bumps into. So a quick ‘sorry’ is given and I drag him along. It may not be the nicest thing to do, but it helps speed things up.” Right when onyx finished, someone in the front of the café fell, causing both girls to look that way. “Speaking of which,” Onyx smiled as she saw Aaron picking himself up from the ground while Youngji was too busy laughing at him. “Over here Aaron.” Onyx called out. Aaron and Youngji looked there way before walking over to the booth. “Hey girls, how was your shopping?” Youngji asked as she sat next to Hyoyeon in the booth. “Wait what happened to your nose?” Aaron asked, causing Youngji to gasp and ask the same thing. After explaining what happened, Youngji was the first to giggle at her friend.
Staying at the café for a while longer the four chatted and ate a simple lunch.
“Okay guys, Seohyun just texted me saying that she just got out of work. So why don’t we call it quits here and meet up for dinner.” Youngji told the group while she checked her phone. Once the group was done teasing her, they agreed and parted ways. “So how did Onyx treat you?” Youngji asked Hyoyeon as they headed home in Youngji’s car. “Fine. She was a little bit more open with me and she wasn’t all ice cold and stuff.” “I think it’s because you remind her of someone. Shot, you even remind me of her.” Youngji told Hyoyeon. “Who?” Hyoyeon was now officially curious, “Sorry, but that’s a story only she can tell. But I will say this, she isn’t a bad person. I mean you guys must know her as the big scary CEO, but she is one of the nicest people I know. Plus, she protects and defends her family and friends like a mama grizzly.” Laughing at her own example, Youngji allowed Hyoyeon to take in the information. “Yeah I noticed, when you were around she smiled and actually laughed. I didn’t think that was even possible.” Hyoyeon told Youngji and laughed a little. “Wait, you’re not trying to make her seem like a great person just so I can tell the rest that she isn’t a bad person and they will be okay with her?” Hyoyeon questioned Youngji, who responded with an innocent look. “Is it working?” “Maybe.” At this both girls laughed. The rest of the ride home was filled with small chit-chat.
Authors Note: I truly am sorry that I am updating this a week later. I switched phones and my calendar didn’t sync, so I forgot that I had to update last week, and then I noticed a few hours ago so I started writing this chapter out. I was planning to write some more, but I have to get to bed because I have to wake up early and get ready for Super Bowl Sunday! (It’s a huge deal in my family.) Anyway, I will be updating next week and maybe I can try to update during the week to make up for it, but if not I will update on Sunday for sure.
