“So you’re living alone now?” Yonghwa asked incredulously.

Seohyun slowly nodded her head.

“Then it’s set.” He lay back and folded his arms. “Move in permanently here as of today.”

“What?!” Seohyun gasped. “I can’t possibly –“

“Yes, you can.” Yonghwa smiled. “I have so many rooms, moving in wouldn’t be a problem. Anyway, you already have a room here, don’t you?”

“Yes…but I don’t use it.”

“Why not? Is it too small?” He frowned.

“Of course not!” Seohyun said hurriedly. “It’s just that I don’t even need a room…I’m only working here part time.”

“Well, now you do.” He grinned.

Despite feeling flustered and shocked, she couldn’t help but smile a little inside.

“I asked her to move in.” Yonghwa said the next morning at the breakfast table.

“Who?” Madame Jung asked. Taeyeon looked at him, surprised.

“Hyun?” She asked with wide open.

He nodded and grinned. “I chatted a little with her yesterday, and she seemed so lonely, now that her sister had gone away to boarding school. Why not let her move in here permanently until her sister comes back?”

Madame Jung watched as he took another bite of his toast. She couldn’t help but feel that he was acting the same way he did like that time when he met her.

“Wow, since when did my son become so caring and mature?” She joked, causing him to smile sheepishly.

“I myself didn’t know I had it in me.” He joked back, getting up from the breakfast table. “I’m going to the company today! See you later,” He gave Madame Jung a kiss on the cheek and waved to Taeyeon.

Ensuring that Yonghwa was out of earshot, Taeyeon moved next to Madame Jung with a worried look in her eyes.

“You were right.” Madame Jung whispered, staring down at her plate.

“What are we going to do?” Taeyeon asked.

“Seohyun’s a sweet girl. I would love for Yonghwa to get a girl like her. But I don’t want him to suffer all over again if anything happens to her.”

“What do you mean by that?” Taeyeon said, confused. “Weren’t you worried that he would remember her?”

Madame Jung shook her head. “He’ll find out one day, anyway.”

Taeyeon sighed and nodded. “He certainly would.”

“I’m just worried about Hyun.” Madame Jung muttered.

“Why?”

“Because…she’s Cho Kyuhyun’s ex-girlfriend.”

Flashback

(Seohyun is 15)

“Come in.” Madame Jung called when someone spammed a series of knocks on her door. Without a warning, the door flung open and a crying Seohyun came running in.”

“Omo! Seohyun! What’s wrong?”

Seohyun sat on the chair and sobbed, hardly getting the words out.

“He…He…”

“Who?” Madame Jung was worried. Seohyun rarely cried and didn’t even shed a tear when her family went bankrupt. The only time when she was crying as hard as this was when her mother died due to a heart attack. It must have been a serious thing for Seohyun to cry like this again.

“Kyu-Kyu..”

“Kyuhyun?” She asked. She knew who Kyuhyun was. Seohyun had often came by to talk about Kyuhyun and how much she loved him. He was the only person who could help her cope with her personal issues and overcome the sadness, and Madame Jung was thankful for him. Without him, she might have gone into depression.

“What happened to Kyuhyun?” She asked gently again, passing a piece of tissue to her. She sniffed and wiped her eyes with the tissue, and tried to speak again.

“He..He broke up…with…m-m,” She could even finish her sentence and started bawling again.

Madame Jung sat there in shock. She couldn’t believe it. As far as she knew, Cho Kyuhyun was a very sweet guy and took care of Seohyun. But then again, it wasn’t exactly impossible….ever since he got accepted into SM Entertainment as a trainee, he had quarrels with her. He also quarrelled a lot with her son, Yonghwa, and broke their friendship up. It wasn’t exactly surprising that he would break up with Seohyun, now that she came to think about it.

“Are you okay?” She asked, even though the answer was obvious. She wasn’t okay.

“I knew it was coming,” Seohyun sobbed. “Last week, I saw him hanging out with a female trainee, and she was- she was stunning. I got too jealous..I- I shouldn’t have got jealous and quarrelled with him.”

Madame Jung sighed. “Crying doesn’t help, Seohyun. It would only make you seem like a weakling.”

“I can’t help it!” She screamed. “We’ve been together for more than 3 years- he was my strength of pillar, support, and I really need him…”

Madame Jung walked over to her and hugged her. Sometimes, all a crying person needed is a shoulder to cry on.

“Hey,” Yonghwa grinned at his manager as he got into the car. He couldn’t help but stop and grin at the thought of Seohyun permanently moving in to his house.

It would be fun, he thought.

He was so absorbed in his thoughts that it took quite a while for him to realise that his manager didn’t greet him back and was looking at him with a scared look.

“What?” Yonghwa raised an eyebrow. “You look like you just saw a ghost. I’m not going to eat you up,” He started to laugh, but stopped when his manager wasn’t laughing along.

“You’re scaring me,” Yonghwa said. “What’s wrong?”

“The company wants you to do a collaboration with another singer from SM.” His manager said so softly that Yonghwa had to lean in closer to him in order to hear what he was saying.

“That’s good!” He smiled. “Who?”

His manager swallowed.

“Cho Kyuhyun.”
